i have a list of provinces in an option select right, so when i
click one province i want it to chance the header of my page
according to the provinces, and i have no idea on how to do that.
I have a user who can't operate a mouse and I want to make it possible for him to select from an option group using only the keyboard. This is possible if a default button is stipulated, but can it be done when there is no default?
There is no event associated with the keyboard in an option group, only with the controls within it. I tried using the Got Focus event on an option Button, but entering the control doesn't cause the options to receive the focus, seemingly.
Any ideas, (they don't have to be fully formed) would be gratefully accepted.
I am developing an Event Management DB for business training courses. I have an attendees table with a link to CompanyNames. I wish to be able to produce an attendees report based on the CompanyName ie all attendees from the selected company. I have done this by using a dropdown of companynames on a Criteria selection form. This works well. What I would also like to do is print the same list without the companyName criteria. I am aware I could make another query but was hoping that maybe there is a way of setting up the criteria in the companyName field so that it could accept either a company name or ALL company names.
Hi, Asked this one yesterday but I think I must be doing somthing wrong. I have a main form named "Techdata" on this form I have an option group with 2 option buttons. I would like when selecting the first option button for the subform "effectivity" to show up on the main form. When the second button is selected I would like the subform "effectivity single" to show up in the same place where "effectivity" was(would like effectivity to be invisable then). Can anyone walk me through this from whoa to go as Im havn a lil bitta trouble
I can create a customized Input Mask, however there are two possible structures that the data may take. I think that this should be doable by the use of two fields, if it can be done with one field it would be preferable for searching options. If I have to use two fields there would only be one or the other used for each record so I would prefer to have the unused field inhibited. Either way the code work is beyond my present ability, any assistance would be appreciated.
I am trying to set up a listbox with an option to select multiple items (I have done this and tested it with debug.print and it seems to work). I am then building a filter statement with VBA. I want to then use a button to add this statement to the filter in a subform with (a datasheet design), and then requery it.
My code below seems to be working in part. But I am getting all the items at times. Seems to work consistenly when selecting one item only, but I can't see anything wrong with my 'OR' statements when I debug.print.
Private Sub Command176_Click() Dim i As Integer Dim strFilter As String Dim blnFirst As Boolean i = 0 If Me.List163.ItemsSelected.Count = 0 Then
I have a form with an option group to select subforms to be displayed .To save space on the main form I have added a subform (frmSubService) to the option group to display some of the data that was originally on the main form. The subforms data source is the same as that of the main form but only displays five fields.
After editing data in the subform frmSubService, if I then click on a field on the main form no problem, however if I click on an option button to view another subform I get a messagebox pop up with the following message;
The data has been changed. Another user edited this record and saved the changes before you attempted to save your changes. Re-Edit the record.
If I click OK,and without re-editing the record, I can open another subform.
I have checked and the data changes made on frmSubService, in both cases, has been saved.
I'm trying to create a database from a pretty large survey. The problem I'm having deals with some questions having the option to "select all that apply." For example, one question deals asks, "What conditions did this patient have prior to admission? Select all that apply" and below 30 or so different medical conditions. Then below that, another question might ask, "What procedures were performed after the patient was admitted. Select all that apply" followed by another large list of procedures. And below that a question asking about all possible drugs a patient was given.
So, I realized because of the "select all that apply" option, I had to list out every condition, procedure, drug, etc, as a separate field with a yes/no option. So instead of having a field that said "medical_conditions_prior" with hypotension, chf, diabetes, etc. as options, I had to create fields for each conditions, such that my fields were "medical_conditions_prior_hypotension", "medical_conditions_prior_chf", "medical_conditions_prior_diabetes", etc, and the options were "yes/no."
However, I recieved an error message saying I had two many fields. So I changed my approach and tried to create a primary table and then a table for each survey question that had "select all that apply" option. So, in my primary table, I would have a field that said "medical_conditions_prior" with a yes/no option. And I would create a table with all the medical conditions with a yes/no option. But, I have no idea how to correctly link these tables, as there are no two fields in the table that match, such as a primary table organized by novels and a secondary table organized by authors, but still having a novels field.
I am using an Access database for a foreign language dictionary project.
One of the forms I use is populated by a query (qryLemmaTable) to retrieve information from tblLEMMA.
This form works precisely as I intend it to work, but there is a glitch on it that is driving me mad.
The form in question has an option group with 11 radio buttons that correspond to the parts of speech associated with each word in tblLEMMA.
When I click on the button optAdjective I apply a filter and the only records that are displayed are adjectives. (The same applies for Nouns, Verbs, Prepositions etc.)
Here is the glitch: even though the radio buttons apply the filter correctly, no “black spot” appears in the button. Other signals on the screen let me know what word type is selected, so I can accomplish what I want, but I want the “black spots” too!
Perhaps this will be a clue: For each radio button I use the following code in the GotFocus event. Me.FilterOn = False Me.Filter = "wordtype = 'A'" ‘(or N, etc) Me.FilterOn = True
And this for the Lost Focus event Me.FilterOn = False
I stumbled upon the Option Group function just yesterday and, happy as a clam, I created a group with 2 options in radio button style. I assigned the values to a field called Registration_Type as the 2 options are "Confirmed Registrants" and "Prospective Attendees".
[Great. That part works well. When I look at the table, a 1 or a 2 is in that field so it's great to know how to control accidental ticking of radio buttons (previous 450 records or so didn't have this option group functionality so one might easily tick one of the buttons. So one part of controlling option group I know I can handle via the table itself for now.]
The challenge is how to ensure the user always ticks one or the other ... I went back to the main table and tested the 'required entry' option for the Registration_Type field but forcing an action like this is not ideal in my mind. The usual error message vagueness for the average user is no good and I don't want to limit the user so much.
Is there a way to simply have a popup come up warning that neither radio button was ticked? Perhaps something linked to the form - i.e., maybe "after update"?? I only learned about attaching code to before and after update on controls a couple of days ago, so not sure if this would be best approach.
Just something to let the user know that nothing has been ticked in the option group as that controls in which of 2 reports the data will show up in so any record not ticked might mean a registrant being left out, which would be rather disastrous <g>.
I have a multi slect list box (simple) and I need to find and select an item using vba - e.g., the bound column is the ID field and I need to select a specific ID (which will be different each time) as opposed to selecting the 100th record for example. How do I do this?
I have a subform containing a list of Funds and attributes such as Asset Type, Fund Manager, etc.
Currently, I have a textbox, where the the control source is set so that it will be updated with the Asset Type from the subform.
I also have an unbound combo box that contains a list of Asset Types queried from a table via row source, where user can select the Asset Type.
What I would like is when a record is selected from the subform, the Asset Type is selected on the combo box as a default value. User can select another Asset Type if required. How can I do this?
Hi, is there any (reasonably simple) way to select or deselect multiple items from the List Box with individual clicks without using Ctrl key. Eg first click on an item would select it leaving all other items as they are, subsequent click on the already selected item would deselect it etc. I hope this is not too confusing and I would appreciate some help. Thanks!
i have a multiselect listbox in my form. The multiselectlistbox contains the names of different persons from tblUsers. it's allready possible to write the id's of the names to another table (tblPresent).
But what I can't manage to do is re-select the values in another multiselect listbox. This multiselectlistbox is located on my editform. I can display the values using a valuelistbox, but i need to see the non-selected items too..
When I run the below code I am getting the error "End Select without Select Case" I figured it might be because I have the "End Select" before the "End With" however when I move the "End Select" after the "End With" I get the error "Loop Without Do".
Code: Private Sub cmd_Update_Conditional_Codes_Click() Dim rs As DAO.Recordset Dim rs2 As DAO.Recordset
I'm fairly new to Access. 's various select queries containing useful and useless results. I want to create a select query that will pick out all the useful figures into a 1 row table that can then be pasted into Excel.
e.g Existing Select Query 1 returns 1 row showing Average Age, Average Price, Total rainfall Existing Select Query 2 returns 1 row showing Average Weight, Average Salary, Total snowfall Existing Select Query 3 returns *2* rows: It returns Distance from London, Hours daylight and population for Town A and Town B
I want a select query that returns 1 row showing (6 items):
Total rainfall, Total snowfall, Town A Distance from London, Town A Population, Town B Distance from London, Town B Population.
I've been able to handle getting Total rainfall and Total snowfall. But I cant figure out how to get Town A Distance from London, Town A Population, Town B Distance from London, Town B Population to appear in the same row of the same query results as Total rainfall, Total snowfall.
I have a list of four options and i want the user to be only able to click one option and not have multiple options ticked, so once one option is clicked the others cant be clicked whilst that one is clicked
in other words you have to untick your option to pick a differnt one
Lets say that I have a large list of locations in a listbox. What I want to do is to be able to have an option button that I can press in that will sort these locations. Like 3 or 4 different buttons, lets say like retail, finance, ect. Anyone know what kind of code I might have to use to make these sort on clicking the option button?
I made on option box on a form called Status. The 2 radio buttons are marked Open = 1 and Closed = 2. Is it possible to open a query based on what the user selects. In the query I want open to stand for Is Null and closed would be Is Not Null. I know this sounds unusual but it works in the query they way I want it to. Is this possible? Thanks...
I got an MS Access 2003 db which I think has an general option disbabled or so dnno, here's the case:
When I create a query, and choose to close the query (just be clicking the "X" button at the top), Access doesn't ask me to save the query or not.. it directly displays the box to fill in the name of the query
When I execute an action query, Access just executes it when I click "!" button, without asking me if I want to "deleting, updating, adding xx records"
I've been searching ages to find an option to enable but I can't seem to find anything
I have an existing desktop Access database for a Membership system which is working fine (+- 1000 members). We have an existing website that is also working fine and developed using Frontpage 2003 - due for conversion to Expression Web.
Challenge:
We want to offer a facility for members to update their details online via the website. That's the easy part - my query is how do I manage to synchronise both the desktop and the website DB? Replication seems to have disappeared with Access 2003.
New members would be added locally whereas updates would be handled either locally or remotely.
Say I have two bubbles (options, buttons, whatever you know them as) I want the system to be set up so that only one of the two can be "true" at a time. Say they are titled Option1, and Option2. What code would I put on them so only one can be "true" at a time. If Option1 was true, and then someone clicked on option2, I want it to cause option 1 to go false.
I have a message box that says "Backup complete" but it has an Ok button. Is there a way for the user to see the message and then close without hitting the ok button?
here's my code
MsgBox "Backup was successful and saved", vbInformation, "Backup Completed"
