I have a memo field which records the events that happen on a form. So for example when a user changes the assignment from one user to the next, a row is written to the memo field indicating date, time, windows logon and then a brief description
Basically I end up with :
07/12/06 11:16:34 kleaves : Assigned user changed from Joe Bloggs to John Doe
At present every new row is added to the memo field at the end, so the most recent action is at the bottom.
How can I sort this so that most recent is at the top.
Is there any way of making a comments box (memo) have the functionality to press return and start on a fresh line as it all seems to run into one 'indecipherable blob'
I have a single table with customer information, one of the fields is a date field "LastContacted".
I'm creating a search form with 2 date fields (txtDate1 & txtDate2) to search a date range of the LastContacted field, and I need to write this into the query that the search form uses.
I have written this using Nz so that it can still return results if the search boxes are left blank:
Between Nz([Forms]![frm_AdvancedSearch]![txtDate1],#01/01/1989#) And Nz([Forms]![frm_AdvancedSearch]![txtDate2],#01/01/2999#)
This seems to work and it returns lines from the table where there is a date entered. However some of the fields in the table have no entry in the LastContacted field. How to code this query so that it also returns lines where the LastContacted field is blank in the table?
I have tried:
like "*" & (Between Nz([Forms]![frm_AdvancedSearch]![txtDate1],#01/01/1989#) And Nz([Forms]![frm_AdvancedSearch]![txtDate2],#01/01/2999#)) & "*"
I have an application that has a text box on a form that points to a memo data type.
On the form, I wish to allow the users to insert the system date with a short-cut key. (Trying to use Ctrl-D).
I have coded a Keypress Event that checks for the Ctrl-D. "Current" code is below: =============================== Private Sub PM_Comments_KeyPress(KeyAscii As Integer) Dim MyString As String Dim MyDate As Variant
'Check to see if user pressed Ctrl-D If KeyAscii = 4 Then
MyDate = Date MyString = Format(MyDate, "Short Date") & ":" SendKeys ("") ' Perhaps I need to dump the Ctrl-D in the buffer??? SendKeys (MyString)
End If
End Sub ================================== I say current because I have tried MANY variations. The code is executing properly on the Ctrl-D. I have watched the variables in debug mode and they contain what I want, namely "mm/dd/yy:" for the current date. Problem is, it inserts the TIME in the memo field. And it is the system time, not the integer of the date formatted into the time.
Crazy thing is, in debug mode, the darn thing will do what I want and insert the date in the VB editor page. Just won't do it in the memo field on the form.
We have a memo field that we use for on going notes. Each day they may type more notes. Is there a shortcut key, a button, or a way to automatically enter the date and time before the notes?
I have a memo field on a form. I am trying to autopopulate it when entered into. For example: I enter in clients info and then tab to the memo field and it automatically enters date and time. Then later when I go back to that same record to append to the memo field it adds the current date. This way I can go back and see all the dates and times when that person called. Any idea how to do this? Thank you
I would like to create a memo field which automatically enters the date prior to any text input from the user. Also allow dated updates in the same field
Memo field is called [Notes] and data is like this...
5/05/14 - Perry was on another call. LM 2/05/14 - Perry only at centre in the mornings, need to speak to him before sending samples. 13/06/13 - Perry in a meeting. lm 30/05/13 - See Little Hampton Early Learning - s/w Perry, has already received sample and info 29/05/13 - s/w Aspi, said to cb tomorrow and speak to Perry
I want to find each date in the Notes field so I can split the memo field data into another table where the memo field will become multiple records that hold date, text and customer/prospect ID fields. The customer table was easy because there was a <Div> tag before each date. However in the Prospects table there are no tags so how to change my vba code to search for each date before I split off the data.
Here is the part of the VBA code I used to find the <Div> tag in the customer notes field. How to find each date in the memo field? The date is in d/mm/yy format?
If Not rst.EOF Then Do StrSplit = Split(rst![Notes], "<Div>") For x = 1 To UBound(StrSplit)
I have created a form with many companies. each companies have 4 events in one year, but the first event in the form is the last one. How can order this events in this form chronologically?
I have a date/time text field on a form with the General Date format and a combo box next to it that has sequencial times as the row source (IE. 12:45 AM, 1:00 AM, 1:15 AM, 1:30 AM, ETC.) When the user chooses a time in the combo box, I want the time portion of the text box to be updated with the chosen time in the combo. I have tried a few things but cant seem to get it right.
Wonder if someone can help please. I'm quite new to Access so please bear with me.
I have a data field in my database consisting of both a date and time.
I then have a form containing two fields where the user can type a 'To' and 'From' date to extract the records that they are interested in. The query behind this uses the 'Between[Enter The Date] And [Enter The Date]' coding.
The problem is that because the field contains a time it doesn't return any records when I run the query.
Can anyone offer a bit of guidance on how I could ignore the time part of the field perhaps by adapting the above.
I have a column/field named [DateTaken] which contains test dates and times in the same cell. I am needing to find those with a test time less than 2:30 pm or <14:30pm.
I have a query based on a table which has a date field. the field both in the table and the query have the time also in the date value so when I try to query on a date I get nothing if I copy the date and time from the field I will get the result for that record if I just use the date I get nothing. I have tried the format which does display just date but if you click on the field the time is also there You must be able to query for a date only and get all the records.
In VBA, how to compare date variable with date/time field from table, as when defined the data type in table, date/time option is the only choice for date data type even though I don't want the time portion.
I have an Ordering database where the order form contains a subform with the order lines (Order_line_subfrm). In this subform footer I have 4 currency fields, one f which is delivery fee (default is set to zero). When I add a fee into this field on screen, everything works (i.e. adds up) and the value is there to see. When I go to print the form (paper or PDF) the delivery fee returns to zero (the database entry is still present).
I am trying to compare a value in my databse produced by the date() function, short date format, to one that is exactly 24 hours after the value recorded by the date() function. If the value in the database is 24 hours prior to the current date(), I need to flag a text box a diffrent color to alert the user. I am unsure on the If statement that I will need to produce this result.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!! Thanks Mikeco555
How can I create a field in a query, extracting the date portion of a date/time field? The format is mm/dd/yyyy hh:mm:ss. I need just the mm/dd/yyyy so I can prompt the user for a date range, without them having to key in the date mm/dd/yyyy 00:00:00 to mm/dd/yyyy 23:59:59. Please Help
Hello buddies :D, do you have any idea how to make this work?
To select data that falls within this criteria of date range between cboDate and cboDate2 (fields on my form). The date in [tblJobDetails]![timeIn] come in this format "08/17/06 10:24 AM", but the cboDate/cboDate2 (takes in date only e.g 08/17/06) what i am after is to evaluate specific hard coded time in addition to the date entered, i.e. even tho, i haven't entered time on the cboDate/cboDate2, I want specific time hard coded where e.g If i select a date range of 08/17/06 and 08/18/06 on my cboDate and cboDate2 it should really be evaluating: 08/17/06 8:00 AM to 08/18/06 8:00 AM.
This is the criteria i curentlly have on my query in design view tha works perfect in selecting date only. ([tblJobDetails]![timeIn]>=[Forms]![frmPendingJobs]![cboDate] Or [tblJobDetails]![timeIn]>=[Forms]![frmPendingJobs]![cboDate] Is Null) And ([tblJobDetails]![timeIn]<=[Forms]![frmPendingJobs]![cboDate2] Or [tblJobDetails]![timeIn]<=[Forms]![frmPendingJobs]![cboDate2] Is Null) How can I incorporate 8:00am to 8:00am into my cboDate and cboDate2. What can i do to make this happen? Your kindness will be greatly appreciated http://www.naijaryders.com/forums/images/smilies/thankyou.gif
I have a form with date/time field. I have the default value at =Now(). My problem is I would like for this particular field to stay with the current date/time all the time. I mean if I created a form last week with the date/time of 3/14/2005 12:54:34 PM and go back to the same form to edit something this week I would like for that particular date/time to be the current date/time and not the date/time from the week and time the original form was created.
I am running some code to work on a table and I want to blank a date field. It is a stock control system where when a vessel is emptied I would like the updated field to become blank as it is empty and therefore has no history (this is stored in another table.)
The code I have tried to us is; (where updated is a date/time field)
Else rst![Updated] = " " rst![Volume] = "0" End If rst.Update rst.Close
The message I am getting is 'Data type conversion error'.
I have a field that contains an input mask : 99/99/00 99:00;0;_ this allows the user to enter a date and time in one field. Such as 04/24/13 15:00 . I want to put validation on that field, so that the user can't enter a time that does not exist such as "25:30" or a date that hasn't happened yet. How to accomplish that? The data is going into a linked SQL table so I'm limited on what I can do on the table end I think.
