first, im apologize for my English.
I have form that runs until the user answer the all the questions.
I place the last question Id in listbox. do I can place the result of the query (max of question id) in a variant in VB or I must place it in listbox/combobox/textbox?

I have a saved Query that returns a single line and a single field. I want the data in that field to be a VBA var, or straight into a field in a different table.
And Ideas?
My access is 2013.
Suppose there's a simple query which has two fields, "year" and "graduates", where "year" can be grouped by "2012", "2013", etc and "graduates" are individual names.
How can I export the list of graduates to multiple excel files, with the filename based on "year"?
I have tried to set the output file in macro as "c:desktop" & query.year & ".xls"
But it's not working and the output filename is exactly "&query.year&.xls "and the file contains all year and all names.
i would like to sum all the column fields in a tables column where an id is the same as the id in that table.
I know you can use the SUM function in the select statement of your query.
But how can i set this sum result into a variable, so i can use it for calculation further on in the program?

I am working with Access 2010, on vista. What I have is a query made up of two tables, one product the other inventory. (see below) query.jpg
In the product table i have a field called "minimum reorder level". In the inventory table i have two fields one called "number in stock" and "number on order". What i want to happen is "number on order" to be filtered by the result, if the "number in stock", is less than "minimum reorder level", if it is, have the result placed in the "number on order" field. EG. if the "number in stock" = 2 and the "minimum reorder level" = 5 then 3 would be placed in the field "number on order" and only the second record from the query would be visible (see below) Query result.jpg The result of this would mean that the field "number on order" would be populated with the result and the and query would also use this to filter the record.
I want to add a number to my results within a query depending on the month and how many results. For example I have 10 results in my query 3 from January, 5 from March and the rest from April. The 3 from January would be 1,2,3. The five in March would be 1,2,3,4,5 and so on. Is it possible to do?

I am creating a 2 level report to confirm an order. Main report already created, runs successfully called as subform/subreport under "OrderDetails" form. Linked to master using Order.ID. There are two versions of the confirmation report that have different layouts for different program types.
The hangup comes when I try to add a "Class Dates" subreport. It lists dates of individual classes and Skip dates. I have created the subreport as "srClassDates". When I add it to the main report, it lists the records. However, when I try to link it to the Main report, an error message box appears with the "object variable or With block variable not set".
I have tried rebuilding both the main and subreports, rebuilt the query, have not found anything that changes the result.
Linker has been working successfully on other subforms. Report with groupings works fine, but I need data from 2 tables both linked to order.id.
I there is no result in query, I need the default result zero in my form field. I only use query wizard to create queries.

I am getting this error telling me that an object variable is not set.
I know which variable it is but when I step through the debugger it sets the variable and all is fine? Issue is that public variable of a class is not getting set when the VBA Editor is not open?
This code runs fine the FIRST time, however trows up a message the SECOND time it is run.

I look at a lot of files to see when they were last updated. I wanted to write a generic procedure to manage that so ..

What I hoped Me.vField would do is update the date field [txt_gts_data] on my form with the date the file was last saved.
i.e. me. txt_gts_data = fDate
What actually happens is the variable vfield gets updated from "txt_gts_data" to 19/08/2014 then later code falls over because the fieldname is lost .
Me.[vField] corrects itself to me.vField (and does not work)
Me!vfield falls over (cannot find the field vField, not surprising J)
How do I say update the contents of the variable, not the variable itself?

I have two reports running off of the same crosstab query. I copied one report to make the second report, then modified the second report to change the background of column fields satisfying certain conditions. These lines of code were added to the Detail_Format section, in color below. The report with the extra code lines does not error--the original report errors.

If I say OK (rather than debug) after the error message, I can then click the button for the report again and it runs without complaint. And, as I said, the report with the added code never errors.
I have a networked database. It is accessed with computers that have both Office 2002, and office 2003. I get the following error message on computers with Office 2003:
"Object variable or With block variable not set"
It happens occasionally and the problem generally fixes itself so I dont think there is anything wrong with my coding.
And when it happens on the computers with office 2003 the ones with office 2002 can open the database fine.
What can be causing this?

The following block of code was working great until I came into work this morning. This routine is called from the OnClick event of several combo boxes. When it does, I recieve the error listed above (Object variable or With block variable not set) on line:

I'd like to make the result of my text box flash (in my form) if the its value is less than 30..For example. If A - B < 30, then the result whatever it is as long as it is less than 30..Is this possible in Access? thanks in advance.. :
I get this error message, " object variable or with block variable not set", when I'm in the design view of a form wanting to use the command button wizard. Using a brand new database/blank I imported a table from my database in question. I then tried to make a new form and put a button on it. It worked for awhile but then when I close the database and reopen it to add another button to the same form, I get the error message again. It isn't a problem that is specific to my homeschool database. It affects all the database I use/maintain as well as any new "test" databases I've made trying to figure out this problem. I looked at references before and after the error occurs and there is not difference. I've also looked at code but don't see anything code that requires variables to be defined. In the case of the test database with one table and one form there is no code to look at until I make a button before exiting and even then, I don't see anything weird.
I would appreciate any help you can offer.
I've attached the original database I was working on when the problems began.
Is it possible for a database program to adjust security levels on certain reference libraries when installed on ones computer, thus making all other database act up that are using those libraries?

I Have a table call Hq_Cases in oracle database,I created same table in access 2000,and I created a SELECT QUERy in access ,now when I run this query it shows me empty table,so I want to know how I can bring values from oracle into my access database.

Im getting an odd result returned & I don't know why.
expression:=[lookup]*[yards]+[drop]:=0.296*30+-11.838
Result:=1.20E-27
If I replace value [drop] with -11.838 then the result is correct (-2.958)
ie:lookup]*[yards]+-11.838
The porblem seem to be when [drop] is neg.
I have a SQL query in a string of a VBA procedure
(e.g. MyQuery = "select sum(Amount) from Investment")
and I want the result to be shown in a TextBox of my form Me.
I know several ways to run the query and to send the result into the TextBox (e.g. with QueryDef and RecordSet). However I guess Access should offer a more direct way to do such a simple operation.
Does anyone has a solution to do it the simplest way ?

I'm designing this system in which each employee has different area of strength (i.e. Math, Languages,..)
if an employee has 2 or 3 area of strength his name appears in the query more than once. I want his name to appear once.
I tried "group by" but it gave me an error. I think I'm doing it wrong.

It should just pick up the value contained within [Text8] which is a number, and it was doing that earlier this evening. I've since changed something and instead of a number it is now showing a small square :confused: For the life of me I can't work out what it is that is causing this.

I am writing a query to calculate a running value, looking at the result of the line above and adjusting the running value in relation to new criteria. Make sense ?
For example
I have a number of dates which each have a value (a) against them dependant on the value in (a) I want to reward it in different ways and store the result in (b), I then want to look at (b) in the result of the above line in acessing how I will reward the next record.
Basically I want to read the value of the result of the line above when calculating the next line ? So it is basically cumulative through the query.

here is my question:
i have a table (tblmembers) with member data (name, last name) etc.
i found how to run a search qry with parameters to ask for name, last name.
i have another table (tblrelationships) with 3 fields
2 for member id's and 1 for the type of relationship they have
i need to run the search query for the member by name (from tblmembers) and use his member id (from the member table) to add it to a new record in the relationship table (tblrelationships).
when i run the search qry, i only get as the result the fields with the member information..
