I have a text box called tboWorkstream on a form. I can scroll through the records using the navigation bar at the bottom. However, I want the records to be sorted by the Workstream Column, not the Workstream ID column (which is the primary key.)
Is there a way to do this?
I know you can list the way you want in a combo, but not sure how you do this in a bound textbox.

How to sort entered records in a subform by combo box. Notice combo box has integer value not text. I want to bo sroted by text visibled ASC. The code must be in Command control SORT (See pict enclosed)

I've created a database which contains information about stores. I want to have the forms automaticly sorted by the department number.
I've tried to sort the table by department, but when I try to add a department, the sorting doesn't seem to affect the form at all.
Lets say I have department 1,2,3,6,7,8 in the form, and I add department 4, it will be the last post in the form. I want it to be the fourth, and so on..

We have a database that we use to track the tablets in our organization, a combination of Apple, Android, and Windows.
We label them with a hostname depending on their branding. Example below.:

In the database we use the field name HOSTNAME for these entries. When sorting the field, due to it being a text field, we get the traditional sort of

I have a table where my primary Key is of a text type, the key is made up of a single letter then a number... ie.
R1
R2
R3
...
R30
R31
..R100
etc.
This is an indefinate table and will go as high as I need to
Unfortunately I can't sort this table because if its mixture of both text and numerical characters, can anyone provide any assistance?

I have a text field in a table that contains an alphanumeric code. i.e.
DEL998
DEL999
DEL1000
DEL1001
SUN998
SUN999
SUN1000
SUN1001
SUN1002
etc.
I want to run a query to find the highest number for a particular alpha code. In the example for DEL I would want the query to return DEL1001.
I have created a select query that asks for the alpha code, selects all codes starting with that code, sorts them in decending order and only displays the first record.
The problem is that because the field is a text field the numeric is not sorted like a number. So in the DEL case the query returns DEL999.
Any ideas on how I can get a result of DEL1001??

I'm new to this but I am currently working on a DB for work. We are tracking employees that are trained by using an "X" in a Field to signify that they are in the process of being trained. Once they are trained they will enter the date it was completed. I need a query that will give me the number of "X"s and the number of dates. Currently it only gives me the total for all "X"s and dates. Is it possible to split the fields in a query and further receive the percentage of each including how many employees do not have any "X"s of dates? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I hope that this make sense.

Pretty straight forward question but I can't seem to find the answer anywhere on the net. I have a table with a text field that's values are pulled from another table via the Lookup Wizard. Everything works fine, and I now have a drop-down box that displays all of the fields I have set up with the Lookup Wizard.
But, how do I sort the records that appear in that drop-down? They are not ordered in the same way that the table they are pulled from is, nor do they seem to be ordered based on any one column.
Any help is much appreciated.
I am having a problem sorting records in a query. I have about 5, 000 entries in a table and when I build my query based on certain fields, the numbers in certain columns are not in order although I use the sorting feature. ( e.g.) I have 5 columns with numbering data contained in the columns, and I have it set up to sort in ascending order, which it did, but I noticed that the Volume # column sorts the Volume numbers differently (see example below):

V. 10
V. 11
V. 12
then it goes back to
V. 2
V. 3
V. 4
V. 5
V. 6
V. 7
V. 8
V. 9
It looks like it sorts anything with a 1 first then the rest later. How do I fix this?

I have an ASP file that retrieves records from an Access database and displays them in the browser. The problem is that the records come out unsorted. I need to sort them by entry date. I have a field in the table called "EntryDate" that is in the format MM/DD/YYYY. Can I sort by this field? If so, what would the SQL statement be? Thank you.

I have a report that is created by a crosstab query that sums orders by Billing Client but the query also has a billing client qroup which can contain many Billing Clients. Since the report total (Counts) are by Billing Client I do not have the actually totals per client group in the query to sort by. I know how to do this in Crystal Reports by the report would needs to mulpiple workstation, which have the crystal reports engine but not the actually designer (In other works I don't know the code to print a crystal report from Access with only the crystal reports engine on the workstation).

Reason is, I want three combos to use the same query for finding records in different ways, but need the query to be saved, not a query built by the query builder that access takes you into from the row source on the combo data tab?

I have a form with a subform in it. The Subform relates to a junction table.
For each record on the main form, there may be more than one record on the subform. The Subform only has one field on it (a combobox).
What I want to be able to do is have a text box on the main form that shows a concatenated list of all of the records on the subform.
For example, if I have 2 subform records, 'Yellow' and 'Blue', I want a textbox on the main form record to show 'Yellow, Blue'.
I have tried so many things I have found online (over about 5 hours, including a module called ConcatRelated) and absolutely nothing works!
I have a tabular form, and of the fields contains a Priority Level for that record (High, Medium, Low). How can i manage to sort the records in this form by the Priority Field in order High, Medium, Low, because if i try Ascending i get them High, Low, Medium, and descending i get them Medium, Low, High.
Any suggestions pls whether it is possible to sort them in High, Medium, Low ?

Hey all I have a problem I would like to populate my forms with the data from another form, and I know one way of how to do this however, I would like to be able to sort my form data. Since I have filtered my data I only see user 3's reccords not all users on the one form, I would like to have the ability to sort the form by the most current date. Since I already have more forms done, i would like to keep it that way. The fields I have on my form are:
PIN, PERMIT NUM, DATE, PHONE, PHONEWORK, OWNER, AGENT, CONTRACTOR, DECSCRIPTION, WIDTH, LENGTH, CLASS, DATE ISS, PENDING, HEIGHT, COST, NOTES. . . IN that order! So what I would like to do is put them in order by the date recored ie DATE. so that the most recent date shows up not Actually now just looking at it i think it is sorted by PERMIT NUM, so is there a way to sort by two different things? as well or what? I have developed a database but have had difficulty with sorting data within subform of a main form. The subform displays the related tasks that correspond with main form that has been selected. Within the main form I have also created a text field that defines a particular sorting sequence of the tasks found within the subform which is titled Task Sequence. What I would like to do, is use the Task Sequence field to sort the order of tasks within subform. I have tried: IIf([ID] Is Null, 0, Val([Task Sequence])) within the Advanced filter/sort but either it shows only the first task defined in the Task Sequence or it wants to filter the main form and not the subform.

I have a form that is bound to a table called "date". Date has to fields "date_id" which is a numeric value and "date_description" which is the name of the month.
A secondary form is bound to a table called "Employees" which has fields regarding data about the emploees of a company (eg "surname", name" etc). I use these 2 formes together to select the month of year and show/edit the data of the employees. Everything work perfectly except one last thing. Is it possible that after I edit (or add) a record in the secondary form (table "employees") the secondaty form to be sorted by "surname"? How can I do such a thing? I would be grateful if you give me an example.

Its slower to close after sorting than the the sum of the time to close the form and sort the records, which doesn't seem to make much sense.

I want the user to be able to select the sort order dynamically for a report instead of a fixed sort order. But i'am unable to sort out my own problem :mad:

When the first combo is empty all the other combo boxes are disabled.
Entering something in the top combo enables the combo below it.
If we delete something in the top combo when something is already existing in the combo beolw it, the values of the bottom combo boxes are shifted to the upeer combos and the lower combos are disabled.
