Won't Update: Subform Linked By Combo

I have a form that I have linked (master/child) to a combo box on my main form. I have a requery command for the subform set to the "After Update" event on the combo box. When the combo box is updated originally, the subform updates. However, if the combo box is updated after having a value, the subform does not update.
First off, is the requery command even the right command to use to update the subform? (it's source object is a table) Second, is there a reason it wouldn't work if that is the correct command?
Any ideas?

This is so simple but I can't seem to make it work. I've poured through about 30 posts and tried all kinds of AfterUpdate event strings to no avail. Help!
Here is the simple setup. I have one table that lists employees and their corresponding teamleader. A grouped query provides the record source for a combo box. The idea here is that you select a teamleader from the combo box and a subform updates to show all the corresponding employees. This subform is based on a simple query of all fields on the table.
combo box = cboteamleader
mainform = frmTechMaintenance
subform = frmEmployees
I've finally settled on this...
Private Sub cboteamleader_AfterUpdate()
Me!frmEmployees.Requery
End Sub
...as having the greatest chance of success based on other posts. Not sure why it doesn't work. It just doesn't update.

Hi,
I am trying to update a subform by selecting a record in a combo-box that corresponds to a particular test when i select the said test i want an adjacent subform to change to the form displaying the test data in the subform window i have tried to use VBA to achieve this but so far have been unsucessful does anybody know how this can be done?

I want to limit the values in a subform using a combo box. Basically I've got a Main Form that has name field etc. Selecting a different record shows me a different entry on the subform relating to a different name but now I want to use a combo box to limit what I see in the sub form another level. Any help would be wonderful.

I am trying to build a Form that will show an estimate (then eventually will be moved to a project if customer and employee aggree to price and project) in a Form F_Estimates is a M_Customers(Customer_ID) (Based on a Table) and thier info in a Subform. Also is the "projected costs" from parts out of the Parts(Part_ID) (Based on another Table) in a second Subform as a list that I need to calculate $$$ in
(Dang that still sounds evil and definately NOT understandable even after edit... so)

(Pulls info from the table Parts for input into a list of parts to be used on that project)

(here's where I run into problems due to the fact that the form is not based on the parts table but rather the link table EstimatesandParts so I can't propogate the info to the 2 other text boxes, ps I dont care if they cant be text boxes and have to be linked or some other type I'm not "set" just need to find out how to make it work )
(have tried a couple things to complete this task)

(works AWSOME ... for ONE ROW then propogates the second selection to the first and second and third selection to first second and third and so on ...)

(Doesnt exist .. akkk, cant use ActiveForm either as it doesn't focus on the SubForm but the MainForm ... cry)

Hi All,
This is driving me nuts!!
I have a form with a combo box that populates a subform with data equal to the combo box value. I have added "<ALL>" to the combo box to display all records if selected. The after update code changes the queryDefs. The problem I have is that when "<ALL>" is selected, no records show. But the query has updated. If I close the main form and reopen it all the records show, but if I select a new value nothing happpens. But the actual query has updated. I have tried many combinations of refresh, repaint...etc.
Anyway, here is the code, any help appreciated.

I've been creating a new Access application and I've run into an issue. The form I created has 2 subforms on it. The data is stored on 3 different tables related by the RMAID. The data gathered from this form needs to go into our MRP application. I have linked the necessary MRP tables to my access application. How do I get the date from the form to the tables in our MRP application? The data needs to go to 3 tables from the MRP application. Do I create an append query that's run after the user completes entering the data on the form? Thanks for any help

I export data from a system to an excel spreadsheet, which is linked to my database. When I run reports in Access, is there any way to identify when the linked table was last updated? This would be useful to users if I could add a text box that shows "Data current as of" some date.

If a front-end database has links to many tables in a back-end database and the back-end is moved, is there an easy way to update all the table links in the front-end in one go, or do you have to set up all the links again one at a time?

I have set up a table (A) that is linked to another table(B) in my database. This linked table (A) is then used in a number of queries. When the data in the original table (A) is updated it does update the data in the linked table (B) as it should. However, when I run the queries they do not bring up any records. It seems that they are not looking at an updated version of the linked table (A) because if I rebuild the query it finds the records as it should. Any advice on this would be very gratefully received.

I have done everything I can think of to remedy this, but I can't figure out why this is happening. I have a linked table from excel that contains 5 fields for each record. I have a table in access with matching records and 20-30 fields. The linked spreadsheet is used when adding records. I have a query that queries both tables to get all data from both and a form based on that query where others can pertinent data for the records resulting from the query. My problem is that when I open the form the new records that were added in the linked file are there but all the fields from the access table cannot be updated. I have looked every place I know to look for record locks, read only options, everything I can think of why i cannot update these records and I am coming up empty. I checked my join properties and selected the only one that actually displays the linked records when the query is run (not sure the name of the join but it's #2 of 3 join properties options (in Access 2002). maybe I am just overlooking something simple? Do you have any ideas what I can do here?

Hi,
i need help regarding linked forms..
i have a combo box in a form, where one has to select a country for example UK is chosen, then there is a button that when clicked it opens in a pop-up form and displays all the information related to UK.
so there are two tables : Country (CountryNo : primary key) linked to CountryInfo (CountryNo: foreign key) linked with a one- to -many relationship.
my problem is when you have to add new records to the form CountryInfo, how can i make the foreign key update automatically? thus when adding data to CountryInfo, the CountryNo must be the same to the CountryNo in the CountryTable..
any help will be appreciated thanks a lot.

I have a linked Excel graph in my form. The process I go though to update them is:
User clicks on button
Excel opens up
Procedure in Excel runs that updates the data and the graphs
Excel Closes
The user does not see any of that. This process works fine. But the linked graph does not actually update in the Access Form. To do that I run the following code:

Hello Everyone,
Here is my issue:
1. I have linked a table which does not allow me to update any entries.
2. In this linked table I have to update one column that contains all null values
3. I have another table that contains the values required for that one column in the linked table
When I try running an update query after doing an Inner Join, i get the Operation must use an updateable query error...is there ANY work around at all ? Please let me know . any help would be greatly appreciated.

The spreadsheet is used by other staff in my office to record sales which I need to register with an external organisation. Hi all,
I am experiencing difficulties with a subform in a database I am designing for a dance group.
First, a little background about the database. There are 2 main parts:
a) a library of CD information and dance information as well as which dances can be done to which songs
b) a tool to plan monthly dance events
Now for my problem:
I have a main form that's built on the PlanProgram table (see attached relationship diagram) and then a subform that runs from the PlanProgramDetail table. Everything works OK up to that point. However, when I go into the subform's record source and add the table Lessons - this is where it "breaks". What happens is when I go back out to the main form and go to enter data in the subform the child field does not behave normally. It doesn't automatically enter the main form's recno_plnprgm number into the subform's field of the same name. Prior to adding the table called Lessons to the subform it did automatically insert the recno_plnprgm number from the main form to the subform.
The reason I want to add Lessons to the subform is so I can update that table's information as well.
Any "fix-it" ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I have an access form that has a marco button to open another form using a filter that returns records in the new form that have a matching recordID field from the main form. This works fine.
I want to be able to add records to the table which works as well only the recordID field is not populated with the id field used in the filter from the main form. How can I populate the recordID field with that of the master filed from the main form? It is just blank on the new records created now.

Here's the deal:
I'm an extreme newbie, I do not know access very well, nor do I know VBA, I do know PHP.
I have a for in access that has 2 user input fields, one for prodid one for shipid. I have a combo box that upon entering data into the previous 2 fields, it does a query against an MsSQL database looking for a record that has both. In any case there will only be 2 outcomes, either 1 record, or null. I would like to have that same combo box automatically use the result as it's value so that users don't have to check the box, because they won't, and so that the rest of my VBA will be able to function properly.
Can anyone assist?

I currently have a query that looks up staff names and then if they click a staff name from the combo box on a form they are then able to preview a report showing their performance. I want the combo box to have the ability to be left blank or the option to select all so that I can preview all their performance in the report.
How do i go about doing this?

Todays problem is as follows!...
Is there away to set the values in a combo box depending on what option button you have selected.
What I would like is to select an option button in an option group then that would trigger certain vaules in a combo box. And if I selected another option button it would change the values in the same combo box?
So if I selected optWhite, the values in cboEthnic = British AND Irish AND Other
If I select optMixed, the values in cboEthnic = White and Black Asian AND White and Black Caribbean etc...
Hope this makes sense.

i have a main form with three sub forms on it. when i update subform 1 i want subform 2 and 3 to update..currently i have an after update event in a combo box subform 1

Hi.
I'm about to move to a back end / front end system, from a single database file. Before I do so, I want to make sure I have all bases covered so to speak.
My back end file will reside on a server. I am aware that path names are sometimes changed by network administrators without warning.
From tests, I notice that, if the path to the back end can't be found, one cannot open the front end database file at all (Access 2003).
My question is: if my back end file gets moved, or the path changed, how can I get into my front end file to update the linked tables.
