Error 1069: The Service Did Not Start Due To Logon Problems

Jan 5, 2006

The local sql server that was working fine earlier does not start now. I have already created tables and accessed them using stored procedures.

I get an error 1069: The service did not start due to logon problems. I have only changed my domain password. I do not remember what authentication I chose for log on.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks

An Error 1069 - )The Service Did Not Start Due To Logon Failure) Occurred While Performing This Service Operation ...

Oct 10, 2007

Hi All,

We seem to be being plagued by the error below by our SQL Server agent. This happens almost everytime we restart the server that has been running for a day or two.

Our SQL Server Agent uses a none expiring domain credential. I understand that this problem only happens when the profile being used by the SQL Servr Agent has changed (password change). What puzzles me is that the login is A ok and no changes has been made to it's password.

We always resolve this problem by changing the login used in the SQL Server Agent to local and after that, returning it back to it's original domain login. Unfortunately, we cant always do this everytime something goes wrong.

Can anyone please help us shed a light on this? We're using SQL2k with SP3a. Thanks!

Error:

An error 1069 - )The service did not start due to logon failure) occurred while performing this service operation on the SQLServerAgent service.

Regards,
Joseph

I get the following error when I try to start SQL Server:
"An error 1069 - (The service did not start due to logon failure) occured performing this service operation on the MSSQL Server service"

I'm switching between 6.5 and 7.0 and get the same message in both. It worked before, does anyone know what the problem can be?

Thanks,

Error Logon Failed - SSRS Service User Account Rights

Jun 12, 2006

I am facing a problem which is based on the restrictions on the domain of the customer. After deplyoing the report on the server we are getting the following error message in the report manager after executing (clicking) a report link:

Logon failed.

Logon failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070569)

I googled for that and it seems to be an authentication issue where some user / account is not granted to log on as service / locally, but the problems is better described than the solutions. Did anyone faced that problem so far ? Which account has to be granted what priviledges or permissions in Windows. We are using a SQL Server 2005 / Reporting Services 2005 running on the same machine whereas the virtual directories Reports and Reportserver are running in a separate Application Pool

Thanks,

Thomas

Can't (re)start SQLServerAgent After Changing Its Logon Credentials

May 30, 2007

Since Copy Databas Wizard failed to copy anything from remote SS20005 (both are with SP2 3054) in any combination,
I changed SQLServerAgent(myinstance_name) to run under Network from Local System with the help of SQL Server Configuration Manager

For this change it was restarted, failed to start again and continues to be stopped giving
"SQLServerAgent could not be started (reason: Unable to connect to server '<mymachine_name><myinstance_name>'; SQLServerAgent cannot start)."

I changed SQL Server Agent (myinstance_name) back to Local Service, then to Local System and still can't start it.

So, my questions:
1)
What has happened and how can I start SQLServerAgent?

2)
Why cannot I start it under Network Service? since it apparently should access remote resources for CDW to copy from remote SS2005

This is on MS Windows XP SP2

PS
After few trials I amnaged to restart it again under Local System but still cannot change to any different one

Error Code 3417. Cannot Start Sql Server Service

Mar 14, 2008

Hi Guys

I have my Sql server 2005 running perfectly (until yesterday) on vista. But today when I tried to connect to the server I get error 3417 meaning my master database needs rebuilt or repaired.

I tried all sort of techniques I found on internet like checking if my data files in data dir are not compressed and for the SQL Server Servies it logs on local account with interact with desktop checkbox checked. But no luck.

I tried to use setup.exe in my installer CD to rebuild master database but it seems the cmd doing nothing. To rebuild, I use the following command “start /wait setup.exe /qn INSTANCENAME=<instance> REINSTALL=SQL_Engine REBUILDDATABASE=1 SAPWD=<New SA Password>. This cmd runs but due to some reason my master db is not being repaired. Ideally, I should see recent date change for this file.

Please advice how can I connect back to my server again making sure my databases are not lost.

Error 1053: Could Not Start The SQL Server Integration Services Service

Mar 19, 2008

We encountered an error the other day that was causing us major head-aches trying to resolve.

Error: 1053 -- Could not start the SQL Server Integration Services service

In addition to SSIS not starting up, we had errors trying to launch Management Studio.

The above errors started happening after we deployed a small release that included editing the machine.config file.

To make a long story short, make sure the machine.config file is well formatted and is not missing any double quotes (") or < /> .

Hopefully this information can help someone out.

SQL Server Personal Edition Error 1069

Apr 1, 2004

I have just installed the personal edition on a win xp pro PC, the installation seemed to work ok but when I try to start SQL in the Service Manager I get the following error:

"service did not start due to login failure - error 1069"

I have already got the Enterprise Edition installed on a win 2000 server which has been working nicely and used the same settings on the new xp PC, could this be the problem. I installed it using the domain user accout and SQL server authentication.

Anyone know how I can fix this?

Thanks

Error 1053 - The Service Did Not Respond To The Start Or Control Request In A Timely Fashion

Aug 6, 2015

"Windows could not start the SQL Server (RETAIL) service on local computer."

"Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion."

I am trying to start my SQL Server service and I get the above error. I am using Windows 7 32 bit. SQL 2008 R2 32bit. SQL has ran successfully for 2 years on this machine until a power outage the other night. Now I have this happening on two computers.

I have read every event viewer message up and down and searched Google for hours trying to find a solution. I have done so many things from changing dll's to reinstalling sql 2008 to trying sql 2012.

I uninstalled SQL2008 and installed SQL2012 and it had the exact same error message. It wont start that one process. I have read this forum and I see many instances of this issue being reported but none of them have been recent. I attempted to do everything the previous posts said to try and nothing has worked. I have tried to roll back using windows restore point, I have tried to change the servicespipetimeline registry edit in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControl. I have changed permissions.

SQL Service Won't Start!

Oct 11, 2001

Something very weird happened this morning... I booted my computer as usual, but for some reason SQL service stopped by itself. I tried to start it again, but it just doesn't respond. I open up Service Manager, clicked on refresh services, but still no response. The "start service" button is available for me to press, but when I press it it doesn't seem to do anything.

Note that sql service was running last night as I switched off computer. I haven't changed anything since.

Any clues, guys?

So we just thought of disabling and enabling the service, but once we disabled and try to set automatic (before starting it), gives us error message "The Remote Procedure Call Failed [0x800706be]".

SQL Server Service Won't Start

Mar 17, 2008

I successfully installed SQL Server 2005 and then used the ALTER DATATBASE statement to move around my data and log files for Model, MSDB and TEMPDB. I stopped SQL SERVER Services and physically moved the files to their new locations.. now the service won't start? I get this in the SQL Server ERROLOG:

Starting up database 'model'.

I can log on to the Server with the account that starts the services and open the .mdf and .ldf files in Notepad.. not sure what's going on.. I then gave the Domain Account that starts the Services Full Control on each of the volumes that I moved the files to.. I checked down to the file level to make sure that the permissions propogated.. the service still won't start.. can someone help?

SSIS Service Won't Start

Jan 3, 2006

I've been completely unsuccessful so far in getting the SSIS service to start under normal circumstances.

I've got the SQL 2005 RTM DVD and a clean, brand-new installation of
Windows 2000 Server (Service Pack 4). All system requirements have been
met according to the SQL installer. I choose to install just the
Database Engine, SSIS and the Workstation components, all other
installation options are defaults except Services, which are set to use
a Domain User account.

The install completes without problems and the SQL Server & SS
Agent services start suceessfully, but the SSIS service refuses to
start (timeout). If I change the service to use LocalSystem, the same
happens. If I make the Domain User (DOMAINMisterSQL) account a member
of Local Admins on the server, the service still won't start.

If, however, I use a Domain Admin account, the service does start, so it appears to be a security issue, but how can I configure the service to start with fewer privileges?

This problem has appeared on each machine I've tried this on, four to
date, so it's not related to the particular setup of this server. I've
searched the web for weeks for a solution with no success; any help
would be greatly appreciated.

Ssevaccesssync Service Does Not Start

Oct 4, 2006

Ciao,

I'm newbie in synchronization so yoy must be patient (also for my english).

I'm trying to enable synch between an Access database on the thesktop and a mobile SQL Everywhere corresponding one..

I downloaded the Access Synchronizer but the example included give me the 2148012867 error

Looking for the ssevaccesssync service, I found that in my system (2000 Server) the library Httpapi.dll was not present.

I downloaded that library on the "system32" folder but when I start that service I get the error

"The procedure entry point RtlInitUnicodeStringEx could not be located in dynamic library ntdll.dll"

Any Idea

Thanks

Marcello
