I sometimes come accross this error when I attempt to execute an isolated task in the control flow. What is funny is that I am still able to debug the package.
It eventually resolves after a while. What could it be?
Thanks

TITLE: Microsoft Visual Studio
------------------------------
Access Denied. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80030005(STG_E_ACCESSDENIED))
I have an error when a package is trying to execute a SubPackage using the "Execute Package Task". I have this problem for all packages that are running sub packages.
The packages are stored in the DTSPackages folder of the SQL Server installation folder.
The master package is called from an Event Handler on a document library in MOSS 2007.
The account from the Sharepoint Application Pool has Full Control on the DTSPackages folder.
Getting Access Denied To FileName Error When Using the Execute Sql Task (With File Connection) into a Foreach Loop Container.
Please Note :
I have a folder containing .sql files. I have to dynamically loop through the files and send them as a File connection Folder to the Execute Sql Task.
When I run this Package I am getting the follwoing error :
[Execute SQL Task] Error: An error occurred with the following error message: "Access to the path 'C:ProjectsFuzzy Lookup DataFlow ExampleScripts' is denied.".
Also I have logged in to the machine as Administrator and to Sql Server with sa.
I am having problems executing a child package from a parent package using the Execute Package Task. I am attempting to run the master package through a SQL Server Agent job.
The SQL Server Agent job is owned by sa. The step that runs the parent package is configured to load the package from the SSIS Package Store on the same server that the job is running.
I have the Execute Package Task configured as follows:
Location: SQL Server ExecuteOutOfProcess: True Connecting as a SQL Server login (let's say TestEtl)
I have added the db_dtsoperator database role to both the TestEtl login and the login that SQL Server Agent connects through. I have also configured the child package's reader role to include db_dtsoperator. Per http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-US/library/ms141053.aspx, this should allow these logins to run the child package.
I have enabled logging of all events in both the parent and child packages. I see the following in the logs when the Execute Package Task executes (omitted portions unrelated to the execution of the child package task):

I am sure that what I am doing is quite common, and I obviously have something misconfigured somewhere - but I'm not sure what my misconfiguration is. Can anyone enlighten me?
I have an application like fetching records from the DataBase(MS Access 2000) and results i have to use in Script Task. At present i have used the record fetching query, connection string in Script itself. I would like to use in Independently. Is there any Tools like (Control Flow Tools like Execute SQL Task) are there to fetch the result set from Acccess and can use the fetching results in Script Task....
I had got the below error when I execute a DELETE SQL query in SSIS Execute SQL Task :
Error: 0xC002F210 at DelAFKO, Execute SQL Task: Executing the query "DELETE FROM [CQMS_SAP].[dbo].[AFKO]" failed with the following error: "The transaction log for database 'CQMS_SAP' is full. To find out why space in the log cannot be reused, see the log_reuse_wait_desc column in sys.databases". Possible failure reasons: Problems with the query, "ResultSet" property not set correctly, parameters not set correctly, or connection not established correctly.
But my disk has large as more than 6 GB space, and I query the log_reuse_wait_desc column in sys.databases which return value as "NOTHING".
So this confused me, any one has any experience on this?
Hi,I am having some trouble copying data over my workgroup network from my Windows 2003 Server Machine (machineA with SQL SERVER 2005) to one of my network Machine's drive(MachineB).Here is the T-SQL code that I am trying to execute:EXEC xp_cmdshell 'copy D:Datafile.txt \MachineBDocuments'Whenever I tried to execute the above piece of code, I get the error message "Access is denied", but if I try to copy the file from the Command Prompt (cmd.exe) with the copy command, the file copies fine over the network.I have already searched over the internet and I found out that loads of people have the same issue, and they were suggested something like this:"Check in Services and make sure that the MSSQLServer service is run as a domain user and that domain user has rights to these network resources."Well it sounds plausible, but I don't know what are the exact steps to do this. How do I know which user is running the MSSQL Server service? Are they referring to the user which I use to connect to my SQL Server Database engine throuhg the SQL Server Management Studio? Also they are suggesting 'domain user', and as I said before I do not have domain network just regular simple workgroup network. Here are some details of the user that I use to login. When the package is deployed to my local machine, it executes without error.
When it is deployed to a remote server on the same domain (2012), I get an error:
Access to the path mydomainmyfileshare is denied.
The report log show that the caller is mydomainsvclogin. I added some informational logging of my own and I see that the variable System::UserName is also mydomainsvclogin
I logged on to windows as mydomainsvclogin and verified that I can modify/delete/change files on mydomainmyfileshare
On older packages, I used credentials and proxy accounts to set up access to domain resources.
How do you specify the account (a domain account) that will access domain resources in an SSIS 2012 package ?
Does anyone know how i can give a user(non admin) access to integration services?
I already did this:
The user needs to be added to Distributed COM Users group · Run %windir%system32Comcomexp.msc to launch Component Services · Expand Component ServicesComputersMy ComputerDCOM Config · Right click on MsDtsServer node and choose properties · In MsDtsServer Properties dialog go to Security Tab In the Security page we are interested in €śLaunch and Activation Permissions€? section. Click Edit button to see €śLaunch Permissions€? dialog. €śLaunch Permissions€? dialog allows you to configure SSIS server access per user/group. In the bottom of the dialog you can select:
Local / Remote Launch permissions if you allow to a user/group to start service locally or remotely.
Local / Remote Activation permissions if you allow to a user/group to connect to SSIS server locally or remotely. · Restart SSIS Service . I get the following error when i try to login to SSIS: =================================== Cannot connect to Dawn. =================================== Failed to retrieve data for this request. Hi, i got a little problem with my SSIS, when i try to connect from another machine the server response (Access Denied), why?, i'm a member of MsDtsServer to Local and Remote Activation and Launch, then what can be a problem?....
I am getting an error when trying to access SSIS packages stored in the MSDB section. File access works, but I get an Access Denied error with the MSDB access. I've tried through the SQL Server Management Studio on the server and on a remote workstation. I've logged on with multiple users; to no avail. Has anyone encountered and solved this problem yet? I've noticed several posts that appear to be similar, but there are no resolutions that work for me.
We have 2 SQL2005 servers currently. 1 is a dev box, the other production. To grant remote access to SSIS, I added my developers to the local Distributed COM Users group and also gave them remote Access and remote Activation on the MsDtsServer component.
This worked just fine. Recently we applied SP1 and the follow-on hotfixes to all SQL components. I followed the install order prescribed in the Q article and applied all component fixes. My developers are now unable to access SSIS remotely unless I add them to the local administrator's group. I don't see anywhere that a log gets generated to help me track down what's going on. Nothing shows up in my Windows security log, despite enabling audit logging on: Accout Logon Events, Logon Event, Object Access, and Privilege Use.
Is this a know issue in SP1 or the hotfixes? I'm hesitant to apply the patches to my production box until I can resolve this issue.
If I create a job with an OS step with the text below
"c:Program Files (x86)Microsoft SQL Server90DTSBinn"dtexec /DTS "MSDBew Import" /SERVER HAYDN /MAXCONCURRENT " -1 " /CHECKPOINTING OFF /REPORTING V
I keep getting the following error:
Message Executed as user: XYZAdministrator. The process could not be created for step 1 of job 0x2161C39C2C34C54AA850602A482E82DF (reason: Access is denied). The step failed.
HOWEVER...
If I take put the above text within in a batch file (foo.cmd); and chanage the step to execute "c:foo.cmd" it works fine.
What am I missing here? It's seems wierd that it works one way, and not the other.
What OS permissions do I need to give a domain user to effectively connect to a remote instance of Integration Services?
I keep getting the following message:
Cannot connect to SQLDEV01 Failed to retreive data for this request. Access is denied. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070005 (E_ACCESSDENIED)) (Microsoft.SqlServer.ManagedDTS)
I have already performed the Windows 2003 steps outlined in the "Eliminating the Access is Denied" error located at http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa337083.aspx
I have no problem if the user is a local Administrator (go figure).
I'm new to SSIS and I'm having problems getting a remote connection to the SSIS service using Management Studio on my workstation. If I terminal Service onto the Server I have no problems connecting to SSIS, but if I try to connect remotely I get the "Access is denied" error message. I have completed the following steps:
To configure rights for remote users on Windows Server 2003 or Windows XP 1. If the user is not a member of the local Administrators group, add the user to the Distributed COM Users group. You can do this in the Computer Management MMC snap-in accessed from the Administrative Tools menu. 2. Open Control Panel, double-click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Component Services to start the Component Services MMC snap-in. 3. Expand the Component Services node in the left pane of the console. Expand the Computers node, expand My Computer, and then click the DCOM Config node. 4. Select the DCOM Config node, and then select MsDtsServer in the list of applications that can be configured. 5. Right-click on MsDtsServer and select Properties. 6. In the MsDtsServer Properties dialog box, select the Security tab. 7. Under Launch and Activation Permissions, select Customize, then click Edit to open the Launch Permission dialog box. 8. In the Launch Permission dialog box, add or delete users, and assign the appropriate permissions to the appropriate users and groups. The available permissions are Local Launch, Remote Launch, Local Activation, and Remote Activation. The Launch rights grant or deny permission to start and stop the service; the Activation rights grant or deny permission to connect to the service. 9. Click OK to close the dialog box. Close the MMC snap-in. 10. Restart the Integration Services service.
But I still get the Access is denied error from my workstation??
I have Power User rights on the server and I'm a sysadmin in the database instance. The SSIS packages I am trying to access are stored in the database. If I add myself to the local administrators group on the server I CAN get remote access, but this is not an acceptable solution in our production environment.
Can the DTS execute SQL task recognize a table in an Access database that is linked from another Access database?
I'm attempting to use a DTS Execute SQL task connected to Access1.mdb to make a new table in Access1.mdb that is using a Subquery from a linked table in Access2.mdb . (I know it sounds convoluded..) Its giving me an error in my FROM clause as if it can't recognize the linked table from Access2.mdb.
The reason why I'm doing this is that I'm not sure how to run an Access make table query from DTS that will overwrite the existing table in Access. I get an error that the table already exists.
A stored function is created in MySQL Server running on Linux with following info: mysql > delimiter $$ mysql > CREATE FUNCTION GetMaxKeyForSampleTable() -> RETURNS DOUBLE READS SQL DATA -> BEGIN -> RETURN (SELECT MAX(MJD) FROM tblSampleTable); -> END; Query OK, 0 rows affected (0.02 sec) mysql > delimiter ;
***The above function is successfully stored in the database.
"Execute SQL Task" add-in module has following info:
Got a problem with 'Execute SQL Task'. When I click to open the 'Execute SQL Task Editor', add a connection then click on 'Parameter Mapping' then click 'Add' button the window disappears. I have re-installed visual studio and applied SP1 but the problem is still there.
I have problem executing several SSIS-packages in a chain.
To be more precise: I have implemented a Biztalk 2006 application which via a local webservice executes an SSIS package. The package it self calls another SSIS package, which is located in the same folder as the calling package. The second package then calls a third package etc.
The problem arises, when the first package calls the second package. An Access Denied exception is received. Can any one explain me how to fix this?
The user connected to the application-pool that the weservice is running under, has execution-rights on all of the packages.
I want to make an Execute Process Task that will make a connection with VCP.exe (Secure FTP from SecureCRT, you need to install all components from SecureCRT to have this one. It also fixes your system paths so you dont need to include the working directory).
Which forms something like that : vcp.exe -pw password username@222.222.222.222:/home/username/tickets/grnti_200605080000 c:DATAgrnti_200605080000 Connection string works perfectly while testing in cmd.exe or directly running with Run..., but within SQL SSIS i get the message :
SSIS package "Package.dtsx" starting. Error: 0xC0029153 at VCP to Srv, Execute Process Task: File/Process "grnti_200605080000" does not exist in directory "vcp.exe -pw password username@222.222.222.222:homeusername icketsgrnti_200605080000 c:DATA". Error: 0xC0024107 at VCP to Srv: There were errors during task validation. SSIS package "Package.dtsx" finished: Success.
Now this message seems a bit odd, because im only trying to run an application with all the arguments with it.
Anyone experienced anything similar, or should i use another approach on this one?
Thanks!
Sebastijan L.
Ok ! Problem solved, will keep the thread as it might be usefull to someone else. I changed the expression from Executable to Argument cut the "vcp.exe" out and it works like a charm!
My configuration database is made to work with both SQL Server 2005 and 2000, could this be an error that has to do with that?
Here is the query that I am using...
DECLARE @Server [nchar] (100) SET @Server = (CONVERT(char(100), (SELECT SERVERPROPERTY('Servername'))))
INSERT INTO [tempdb].[dbo].[Server_Roles] (Server, ServerRole, UserName) SELECT @Server, role.name, member.name FROM sys.server_role_members rm inner join sys.server_principals member ON rm.member_principal_id = member.principal_id inner join sys.server_principals role ON rm.role_principal_id = role.principal_id

I am trying to create an SSIS package to transfer data from one database to another. Prior to transfering the data I want to delete the existing data in the target table. When I try to configure the task I get this message:
The task with the name "Execute SQL Task" and the creation name "Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Tasks.ExecuteSQLTask.ExecuteSQLTask, Microsoft.SqlServer.SQLTask, Version=9.0.242.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89845dcd8080cc91" is not registered for use on this computer. Contact Information: Execute SQL Task
Prior to installing .NET 3.0 I did not have this problem. Any thoughts on how to resolve this problem? My thought is there was an installation registration issue.
I need to use a variable as column in SQL statement in Execute SQL task of integration services. I am setting Parameter Setting to map variable use it in the query like; select ? , col1name from tablename. But its not working. Anybody having any idea; would be of great help.
In my SSIS Package, I have one Execute SQL Task containing a few SQL Statements of the format: "DELETE FROM <Table_Name>", followed by one SQL statement for executing a stored procedure with an output parameter of the format: "EXEC <StoredProcedure_Name> ? OUTPUT". The output of the stored procedure has been mapped to a global package variable (data type: nvarchar).
If I remove the SQL Statements of the format: "DELETE FROM <Table_Name>" from within the Execute SQL Task, the stored procedure returns the desired output. However, If I introduce these SQL statements in the Task just prior to the "EXEC <StoredProcedure_Name> ? OUTPUT" SQL Statement, the output returned to me always contains a part of the first set of SQL Statements.
Here is a sample output that I get:
"The data corresponding to the ECO: 35053776 has not yet arrived. The data corresponding to the ECO: 35054112 has not yet arrived. em]
WHERE LEN([ID]) = 12 AND
[ID] LIKE N'100%' AND
[ID] LIKE N'%0';
DELETE
FROM [dbo].[TempECOItem]
WHERE LEN([ID]) = 9 AND
[ID] LIKE N'71%';
EXEC dbo.LoadData ? OUTPUT "
If you notice, the output that I receive from the stored procedure contains a part of the SQL statements within the Execute SQL Task.
The Execute SQL Task has an OLE DB connection type. I use a "Direct Input" SQL Source Type and my database is a SQL Server 2005 Database. It seems as though the output variable is automatically being set to the SQL Statements in the Execute SQL Task. I even debugged this Package and have found that only at the end of the Execute SQL Task, the variable receives the above value. Prior to this, the variable is empty.
Does anyone know what is going on or, does anyone know of a workaround? Any help would be appreciated.
I have a command to decrypt a file that I can run from the command line and it works beautifully. However, when I stuff it into an execute process task, it errors out every time or does nothing.
Here is the command I can run from the command line:
I've pointed the execute process task object to the gpg.exe executable on my system and am stuffing the remainder in the arguments line. I have also tried changing around all the timeout settings and sucess values. I have found I can change the success value to 2 and it will show up as being green when complete, but the file doesn't decrypt. It just in turn will throw an error on the next piece because the required file is not there.
I will probably end up writing a script to get this to work and use a script task but I really want to know why this will not work.
We have used an execute package task in our master package to execute a child package and we have set the execute out of process=false. This master package is running fine in 32 bit server but is failing in 64 bit server. is there any settings to be done in the server or is it the problem with the property setting(execute out of process)
Forget it -- I decided to take to crappy way out -- Instead of executing a procedure and trying to get the output when running a SSIS package, I simply run the query in the first step of the SQL Agent Job and fill a table with the results. All I have SSIS do is export the table to a flat file.
I'm getting the following when I try to run in BIDS: [Execute SQL Task] Error: Executing the query "dbo.prcCreatePayExtract" failed with the following error: "Query timeout expired". Possible failure reasons: Problems with the query, "ResultSet" property not set correctly, parameters not set correctly, or connection not established correctly.
It appears that the timeout hits at 30 seconds which I've captured in SQL Profiler but I can't see to find where on earth in the package I can set the timeout. The "Timeout" on the task is set to zero and the Connection Timeout and General Timeout are both zero.
In my ssis 2012 package, I have a 'object' type variable with some table like records. I want to do some SQL operations like insert/update on the records in another table based on this 'Object' type variable records. Basically I want to use a MERGE statement with another physical table with the records in the 'Object' type variable.how to map/use the Object type variable in Execute sql task.I am not good in script task. How to utilize this Object variable in a Execute sql task? Â
I have built the following query in SSMS, when I add it to an Execute SQL Task in SSIS. I get this error -
"[Execute SQL Task] Error: Executing the query "SELECT @columnz = COALESCE(@columnz + ',[' + times..." failed with the following error:
"Must declare the scalar variable "@columnz".". Possible failure reasons: Problems with the query, "ResultSet" property not set correctly, parameters not set correctly, or connection not established correctly."
Query:
use design
drop table tmpNCPCNCDownstreamMaxUtilization3wks select node, max(utilization) as max_Utilization, DATE into tmpNCPCNCDownstreamMaxUtilization3wks from stage_ncpcncdownstream_temporal WHERE Date BETWEEN DATEADD(day, -20, GETDATE()) AND GETDATE()
I have ForEach Loop using Foreach File Enumerator. Within this loop I have SQL Task containing an Insert statement. When I run the Insert statement in query builder the transaction inserts data into a table as expected.
However, when actually running the process I am getting the error message:
Executing the query "INSERT INTO dbo.TEST_TABLE ..." failed with the following error: "Value does not fall within the expected range.". Possible failure reasons: Problems with the query, "ResultSet" property not set correctly, parameters not set correctly, or connection not established correctly.
I currently have the ResultSet to "None" and have defined the parameter I am using. Where the process seems to joke is on my file_Name variable will I am trying to insert only part of the file name.
