I am running into an issue while executing a sproc from Excel VBA. Everything connects fine, and I am passing a parameter, however, after a few seconds, it seems like the connection receives a "completed" command and continues down it's code, but the sproc is still executing. The result is that I never receive the record set from the sproc.Here is the code snippet from VBA:

And here is the sproc that is being called. the first thing it performs after the "IF" block (there are multiple steps that would consecutively be called after this, but all of the data hinges on this first step working) is a TRUNCATE statement. After running a SQL profiler while executing the VBA code, I consistently see an "account log out" entry; almost as if the connection from the Excel workbook is sent a disconnect instruction. The sproc continues to run and perform the rest of the script in the "IF" block, but the returned recordset is never returned back to Excel.

Hi. I have a stored procedure that I'm interacting with through vb.net... the stored procedure logic, by itself, runs in query analyzer, but when I run it from the code side using the stored procedure, it dies. Now, that said, I'm not a pro at writing a stored procedure, so you might look at this and gasp in horror. I'm executing a three-staged query, all of which are using temp tables, the final of which is what I'm using for my datagrid import. The temp table name I'm using doesn't work... it's not accepted in the SP and stops the execution of the query stating "invalid table name." Not being a guru at this, I dont know why it runs in Query Analyzer but not w/i the SP. Can someone look at this and help? (If its grossly written and there's a better way, I wouldn't be offended to be told that either. I"m looking for ways to write cleaner, faster code) Here is the SP, any suggestions are very very appreciated. Thanks so much!

I have a stored procedure using UNION joins on three SQL queries. Sadly, I'm only now learning how to use Stored Procedures, so if this is a really dumb question, please forgive me. I have a conditional split where i check for First name ,Last name to see if they are empty.
this is the condition i specify in the conditional split ISNULL(Column Name)
It dosent remove rows which are empty to a different output.. I tried trim the input column using derived column before sending the data to conditional split but nothing worked.

We have a test and production environment. After transfering some tables from test to prod and all stored procedures using those tables. We get an error when executing those stored procedures: " DB-library: Possible network error: Bad token from SQL Server: Datastream processing out of sync. Net-library error 0: DB-libray Process Dead - Connection Broken. " When we execute the stored procedure with 1 parameter less we get a parameter missing error. Hi all i am facing problems in executing stored procedures. Sometimes the connection to server fails. all the query, sp working fine few minutes back fails. the sp executes and executes and does not get results but hangs later a get an error.

I have a database user dsrpReader that can execute stored procedures in one database; it's the only thing that this user can do. Works great except for the below stored procedure.

If I run the above as an administrative user (windows login), I get N rows of information back (N > 0). If I run it as an unprivileged user (see beginning of post), I get 0 rows back and no error messages.
Adding 'with execute as owner' solves the issue, but I'm not sure of the implications. Am I opening up the database to attacks (or even the complete server)?
If so, how to continue.
In an attempt to solve the issue I have given permissions to the user dsrpReader on the information_schema.columns but have no success. It did not work. This was just a try, I actually want to set up a dedicated user with some permissions that I can use in the 'with execute as 'limiteduser'.
2nd Stored procedure executes successfully and 1st stored does not executes where only difference is 3rd parameter value 173 and NULL value.

This CLR stored procedure executes without fail 99% of the time. However, occasionally it will fail with the following error:

Any ideas why this would fail only occasionally (maybe 1% of the time it's executed)?
In SQL Server 2005 I need a stored procedure that will execute an SSIS Package for me. There is some earlier stuff on the board but I don't understand it. I don't want to create a Job to do it if I don't have to.
