Jul 20, 2007In a press release ( http://www.microsoft.com/presspass/features/2007/jun07/06-04sqlserver.mspx) It statedthat "...Microsoft licensed our Dundas Chart for .NET technology for inclusion in SQL Server Reporting Services 2000 and 2005 (SSRS)..."
Does that mean that I can download Dundas Charts for free ? - and where is the link ?
If not then what does it mean ?
Adding Secondary Axis To Charts In Business Intelligence

Hi Guys
Can I use secondary axis in chart item ? I need to plot two different items in a single chart. They have a common x axis but they differ hugely in terms of their values. For ex one item is the Amount of time in minutes and the other item is the total no. of people .But they need to be plotted on a single graph for business needs.
Any ideas??

I have a requirement in Bar charts using SSRS...Assume that I have 3 Products Quantity and the representation will look like following
A - 10
B- 20
C-15
Though it is easy to develop this as a bar chart...The requirement is that a Product Perfomace should be represented using Images in the chart area...Instead of showing that A has 10 quantitites in a single bar, a general product image should be coming in the place of 10 and same with the case of B and C.. I have used smiley icons here for clarity
The look of the chart should be like following

Some Questions Related To Donut Charts In SSRS
May 3, 2007I am interested in knowing the following things:
How to show total of all legend items in legend block itself as "Total".
How to show Total (say amount) in the center of donut chart.
How to customize the thickness of donut in donut chart and radius of inside and outside circle (the other thickness).
The lable markers (arrow) are not coming as a right angle arrows when i tried to use the donut and pie charts, the are coming as randomly angular lines which is hampering the beauty of the report.

Export SSRS 2005 Report To Excel

I have created a report in SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services. After I export it to Excel format, if I try to print it (Hardcopy), my Excel crashes. It shows an error and shut down. I'm using Excel 2000. It even shows me same error when I click on "Print Preview", in Excel.
Everytime I try to print the excel worksheet, a window pops up with the heading "Visual Studio Just-in-Time Debugger". The error is: "An unhandled win32 exception occurred in EXCEL.EXE [3460]".
Any help is greatly appreciated.

We are using the SSRS 2005 for developing reports. In that I have some problems/doubts.
My problems are:
I developed / designed the report using the SSRS 2005. And I uploaded the reports in to the report server. I can able to view the reports in the preview section as well thro the browser.
Problem 1:
Reports are having the huge amount of data (For: report is having > 800 Pages). So, when ever I am trying to export in to EXCEL that time I am getting MemoryOutOfException. If I having the less number of pages that time I getting the result. How I can export the report into excel with out MemoryOutOfException.
Problem 2:
Some Excel sheets are having more data for ex: 75000. In EXCEL it self we are having the limitation we can not create more than 65536 rows per sheet. So If I want to export these 75000 records into excel how I do it.
Problem 3:
For delivering the reports I am using file share subscription method in SSRS. For example my reports are having the huge amount of data. That time I getting the following status in report server €śFailure writing file Weekly Install Base Report @timestamp: An error occurred during rendering of the report.€?"

SSRS 2005 - Mutilple Excel Tabs
Jun 5, 2007My company is trying to convert existing reports to Reporting Services 2005... we need to have reports that export to excel with multiple sheets have the group name as the tab label. I can't find anywhere how this can be done. Can someone please tell me when this will be available? We have the latest service pack and still can't get this done... Our large customers are used to getting their reports this way, and the document map with sheet1,sheet2..etc.. will not be a suitable option. Any help with this is greatly appreciated.... seems I am not the only one waiting on this one...

The report is no different than any othere report. This report uses rectagles and text boxes to control layout with two tables but it's pretty straight forward. This only happens for this particular report when exported only to Excel. I am using SQL2005 SP1.
Any ideas, thoughts, or references are welcome.

When I export a report to XLS, I get a huge file size, and performance really takes a hit.
When I copy the Excel Data, and Paste Special - Values into a new excel, the file size shrinks considerably again.
When I export to CSV instead, the file size is halved, and the processing time comes down from 5-6 mins to 10 seconds.
I use SQl 2005 with SP2, so some of the old problems with RS2000 do not apply.
I suspect SSRS uses XML to export to excel. Is there some way I can get over this problem?

I was thinking myself that it may be done in vba/macro added to a button in powerpoint. SSRS 2005: Report Header Does Not Export To Excel As Page Header
Mar 13, 2008I need some help. I am writing a report in SSRS 2005 that I then need to export to Excel. When I put a report header I would expect the header to not display in the Excel spreadsheet until the Print Preview or the Print. The report footer works just fine I put some text in the footer, and it shows up in the footer. The header though, shows up as a row in the Excel spreadsheet that then causes columns to merge. How do I get the report header to act like a page header?

Jun 14, 2007I'm using Visual Studio 2005 and SQL Server 2005. I am creating a report to put on the Internet using C# and other .NET features. I'm building several charts using database information extracted from Microsoft Excel. I can make charts based on the data from columns using the categories, series, and values on the Data tab of chart properties. However, when I create a query that grabs a record ( a row) from a database, it forces me to use the field values even though each field contains only one value.
Basically, I want to take a row from a database and make it my x-axis data values and another row (record) from a database and make it my y-axis data values.
I'd prefer not to change the format in the database, if possible. Thanks in advance.

Programmatically Adding Users To SSRS?

I€™m looking for a way to add users to view reports in SSRS. We have set up SSRS to use forms authentication and have been running with no problems for a few months now. When we add new users to the aspnetdb we also have to go into management studio and give them permission to view reports. (Currently all users have the same permission which is set in the root folder policy in SSRS)
We have now set up a .NET application which allows our client to manage their users online, however they don€™t have the knowledge or access to Management Studio in order to permit new users to access reports.
Is there a way, through SP or .NET script to programmatically add users to the policy / security descriptor in SSRS. I have already been playing with the XML Description in the SecDesc table of the ReportingServices database. This seems to contain all the necessary data, but modifying doesn€™t work. In the same table is a Binary SecDesc field which I suspect has complementary data to go with it. Is there a way of generating this data?
Any help with this, or another method will be greatly appreciated.

I have created a report using SSRS and in that report I am using group rows in one of the matrix. When I tried to display the subtotal of that group row by using the SSRS in-built feature the subtotal column is coming at the last of the matrix columns but I want it at the front .
so it will be like this,
First the total should be displayed then the group members value.
Can anyone help me on this issue.
