Each time we add a new parameter to a subreport and we link the main report's fields to be the value's to the parameters for the subreport, we get an error message stating that the parameter for the subreport has not been specified. If we physically REBOOT the computer and then reload the project, the error seems to clear up.
Is this a bug in Reporting Services or is there some other explaination.

I have two report , first is main report which is matrix and have one parameter User_ids which is multi value selection and my second report is basic chart of user_wise performance.
Now, my main report (matrix ) works fine for Multiple selection of users and i have putted one textbox on main report chart which has action properties set for chart report, when user click on chart button it must goes to chart with user selected in main report. Now , i have used expression for parameter to send it like ..

And when I am selecting single user it passing that value to chart parameter list but , when it is more than one user it errors with conversion failed when converting the nvarchar value '121,128' to data type int. But my chart also works when passing 121,128 in user parameter in preview of report .
I was asked to add a subreport in my report footer so that it appears on every page of the report. I spent some time trying to figure it out or find an answer on the web, but it appears it can not be done.

I'm trying to use a "template" report with a graphic logo and some other standard layout to provide all my subreports with the same look. On the "default" subreport, I intend to have links to the other subreports, but I can't find a way to dynamically change the subreport shown by the Subreport item.
When inserting a subreport into the main report, the subreport parameters are not listed for selection in the subreport object property page. If I add the parameter names manually, the params are not properly passed to the subreport and I get a runtime error (Internal error, see log).
So I'm not able to link the subreport properly. Any Idea?
Both (local) reports reside in a DLL in the same namespace, which is not the default namespace.

I have managed to pass a string parameter form the main report to the subreport with no problems, but when i try and use the same method to pass a datetime type, i am issued with the following error messase:
"[rsErrorExecutingSubreport] An error occurred while executing the subreport €˜SubReportName€™: The value provided for the report parameter 'MasterDate' is not valid for its type."
I cant see why it work for strings, but not for datetime. Any suggestions will be very much appreciated
I have a multi-valued parameter that I want to pass to a subreport. The values are 11, 12, 13, and 14.
So here's what I've done:
1. For the properties of the clickable field of the first report, I have gone to the Navigation tab and chosen the subreport in the "jump to report" pulldown.
2. Then I clicked on the Parameters button and added a parameter name for the multi-valued parameter I am trying to send. For the Parameter value, I have tried 11,12,13,14. I have also tried =Split(11,12,13,14)
3. On the subreport, I create a report parameter with the same name, data type is string, multi-value is checked, and the available values pulldown is populated by a query.
So I run the first report and click on the link that brings me to the subreport, but all the subreport shows is the results for 11, not 12, 13, and 14.
How can I get the second report to understand that I want it to show all the records related to 11, 12, 13, and 14? If I bypass the first report and simply use the drop-down to choose 11, 12, 13, and 14 in the subreport, it works fine. I just can't seem to figure out how to correctly have the first report tell the subreport that it wants 11, 12, 13, and 14.

I'll go to a dataset, open up the query designer, add a new parameter, then refresh the fields, but the parameter won't be added as a report parameter. If I go to the dataset properties under the list of parameters, the value in the dropdown will be blank. However, sometimes this will automatically add.Â
Is this a bug in Visual Studio? How do I get around this?Â

I have a subreport added to the main report and I want to make this report visible only when the parameter value is met.
Ex, I have a parameter CustName in the main report and want to show the subreport when the custName = xxxxx. There reports are parameter driven not data driven reports.

I have a main report and a subreport. Subreport is not at row level but is at report level. The sub report has a parameter that needs to be passed from mainreport. However, the subreport's parameter should be set and the subreport should be refreshed when the user clicks on a row in mainreport. Can I use drill-through / navigation feature in any way to build this functionality?

I have created a Report using Visual studio-the report displays a subreport within it.
On the Subjective Report I have 12 values for each month of the year.
For the first month the value is =sum(Fields! Month_1.Value), and I
have named this text box €™SubRepM1€™
The name of the subreport is €˜subreport1'.
On my Main Report, again I have 12 values for each month of the year.
For the first month the value is =sum(Fields! Month_1.Value)*-1, and I
have named this text box 'MainRepM1'
The name of the main report is 'GMSHA Budget Adjustment Differentials'
The report displays both of the subreport and main report values
but I now need to total these values together for each month in order to
produce a grand total.
I have tried using the following to add the totals for Month 1 together,
=subreport1.Report.SubRepM1 + MainRepM1
but this does not work and I get the following error message €˜The value expression for the text box 'textbox18'contains an error [BC30451] Name subreport1 is not declared'.
I feel that it should be a simple matter of adding the two sets of values together but I€™m having major problems trying to get these totals to work.

I am trying to create a report with a sub report in Sql Server 2012 using Report Builder Version 3. Â I can run the subreport without any problems. Â I read where using a shared connection can cause this error so both the main report and the subreport use a connection that is embedded in my report. Â
For testing, I created the subreport without a parameter and added it to the main report. Â When I ran it that way, the report worked and sub report displayed the data. Â So I know it can read from the database.It seems to only give me this error when I am trying to tie the two reports together using a parameter. Â

I have a details view with several parameters set up in my asp.net 2.0 code, I want to add a parameter before the sql parameter is executed. I need to use the find control of the details view because I am using items/edit item templates in my details view control. I tried this(see below) as well as the detailsview item command event args to no avail. It doesn't see the other parameters that have already been declared in my asp.net code. I don't want to have to declare all my varibles that are already in my asp.net code. I just want to add another parameter. hope anyone can help me on this one.
I have a parameterized report based on a MDX query (so no drag and drop of filters and fields).
Now i have to ad a parameter. So i open the query parameter dialog box and i ad my parameter.
when i click ok , my dataset becomes empty , resulting in an error on my report saying that the fields on the report cannot by found and should be in the scope of the dataset.
Has anyone experienced this problem before, or am i forgetting something here?

First of all; My Oracle publication works fine when I don't explicit specify the shema_option parameter for the articles I'm adding to the publication. The reason why I then want to explicit specify the parameter is as following.
I'm developing a replication solution to get data from our production server (Oracle) to our Data Warehouse (SQL Server). The SQL Server (and the Data Warehouse code) uses the SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS collation. When I don't explicit specify the schema_option, the nvarchar columns of the replicated tables are created using the SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CS_AS collation and this results in some comparison errors, when for instance a select statement is trying to compare two nvarchar strings using different collations.
I've tried to specify the schema_option parameter as "@schema_option = 0x80" (Replicates primary key constraints.) to avoid the use of the SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CS_AS collation when creating the destination tables - I'm not sure it's enough? No matter what, I'm getting an error when I'm doing it (see below).

The questions are now whether I actually have a schema_option alternative for Oracle Publishing? If so, what is the solution, and eventually how can I avoid the error stated above?
If I'm not able to avoid the article columns getting created with the "wrong" collation, is there then any other obviously solution to the problem?

I keep getting this error upon preview:"A parameter in the subreport 'Summary' has the name @DB. Parameter names must be CLS-Compliant identifiers"
Here's a description of my setup right now.
In my Main Report, I have a Year(String) and CompanyCode(string) Report Parameters, with Available Values that I specified.
Right Clicking the subreport, in the SubReport Properties(still on the main report), I specified the subreport I want to use and on the parameters tab, I have two parameters @DB with the value of =Parameters!CompanyCode.Value, and @Yr with the value of =Parameters!Year.Value
In the Subreport, the Dataset has 2 parameters, @DBName and @Year
On the Layout section, the Report Parameters are the same as the main report.
I do not have a dataset on the main report because it's not needed, I basically only need it to pick between either the Detail and Summary sub-reports to show.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated, I'm still pretty new to SRS, but I'm learning quickly and have picked up a lot, some things I still struggle with.

Hi guys, I am new to Rs2005. I have created 4 seperate reports that each use their own datasource. I want to display these 4 reports as 1 big report. I want a title page followed by a summary page. The summary page must include the 4 reports within its summary, ie...report 1 on page 3, report 2 on page 5 etc..... The page numberering must also match up. Therefore page 1 is the title page and page 2 is the summary. If this is possible, how do i reference the report names within the same report to display on the summary page. Can this be done? I will very much appreciate your help.
