I have two columns in a table:
StartDate DateTime and StartTime DateTime.
The StartDate column holds a value such as 07/16/2004
The StartTime column holds a value such as 3:00:00 PM
I want to be able to add them in a stored procedure.
When I use StartDate + StartTime I get a date two days earlier than expected.
For example, instead of 7/16/2004 3:00:00 PM StartDate + StartTime returns
7/14/2004 3:00:00 PM.
Can anyone point out wht I'm doing wrong with this one?
I have an SSIS package that moves data from SQL Server to an legacy Access database. In SQL Server, there is a date/time column that I need to split into a separate date column and time column in the access database. Initially I just created a derrived column for the time and set the expression equal to the source date/time column from SQL Server. Unfortunately, that just makes the date column and time column the same having the full date/time.
What expression can I use during a derrived column transformation to assign just the date to a derrived column and just the time to another derrived column?
What is the syntax for adding a column where you are adding a year to a date in a date format? For example adding a column displaying a year after the participation date in date format?
I know that I can add a column to a mining structure and/or model more than once using XMLA. However, I am having a problem doing the same using DMX. I now that DMX does not support data binding and that it relies on the INSERT INTO... construct to essentially map the structure columns to the incoming comluns from the data source. I tried to use "AS" like I would in SQL but it doesn't seem to like it.
Can anyone confirm that this can only be done using XMLA and not DMX? If I am mistaken, it would be greatly appreciated if you could provide an example on how to do this using DMX.
For background on why I would want to add the same column to a model more than once please read this post.
Aim – To add 60days to [Date_Approved_By_Risk__c] column
Query so far is
select [Date_Approved_By_Risk__c] --left([Date_Approved_By_Risk__c],10)+60 as correct_date from #build where [Date_Approved_By_Risk__c] is not null
[Date_Approved_By_Risk__c] is in the following format “2010-04-30T23:00:00.000Z”
When i add the following “left([Date_Approved_By_Risk__c],10)+60 as correct_date” into the query i get the following error Msg 245, Level 16, State 1, Line 1 Conversion failed when converting the varchar value '2010-07-13' to data type int.
The script is failing at this point "DATEADD(mm, RowNum, salesdate) subscriptionrowdate" dont know exactly where i am going wrong.
This is my code
SELECT *, CAST(viasatsubscriptionid as char(8)) +'_'+LTRIM(STR(RowNum))subscriptionrowlog, DATEADD(mm, RowNum, salesdate) subscriptionrowdate FROM ( SELECT viasatsubscriptionid, firstproductregistrationdate, salesdate, baseenddate, ROW_NUMBER() over(Partition by viasatsubscriptionid order by salesdate)-1 RowNum FROM stage_viasatsubscription )a
We have a bunch of Audit tables that contain almost exact copies of the operations tables. The audit tables also include:
AuditID - the audit action (insert, modify - old, modify - new, deleted) AuditDate - date and time of action AuditUser - User who did it...
At the end of the day I need to know for any given record what it looked like at the beginning of the day and what it looks like at the end of the day. There could have been numerous changes to the record throughout the day, those records I am not interested in. Only the first record and the last record of a give day.
I am going to be doing a lot of MIN(AuditDate) and MAX(AuditDATE) and .. WHERE AuditDate BETWEEN '10/1/2007 00:00:00' AND '10/1/2007 11:59:59' ...
Question: Whats better for performance:
1. Separating out the date and time and doing a clusterd index on the date.
2. Keeping date and time in the same column and just use a normal index.
I have a smalldatetime column. When I did SELECT * INTO MY_TABLE FROM YOUR_TABLE WHERE CONVERT(VARCHAR(12), DATE_ENTERED, 101) > '01/01/2001' rows from 1998, 1999 came over.
How can I obtain just the time portion from a date/time column? My data contains "2008-05-19 09:30:00.000" Actually, all I want/need is the hh:mm part of it.
I want to use time series algorithm to mine data from my case table and nested table. Case table is Date table, while nested table is the fact table. E.g, I want to predict the monthly sales amount for different region (I have region table related to the fact table), how can I achieve this?
Thanks a lot and I hope it is clear for your help and I am looking forward to hearing from you shortly.
I am confused on key column of case table and key time column of nested table by using Time Series algorithm.
In my case, the case table structure is as below:
Territory key text (the ID is actually dimrisk_key, in this case, I use the name column binding to combine the Territory column of case table Dimrisks),
While the nested table structure is as below:
Cal_month key time (in this case, actually the ID is dimdate_key, again, I used name column bining property to bind the Cal_month to the ID)
So my question is, as the key column of case table has been set to be Territory, as a result, does the model training still cover all the cases (rows) based on the ID of the table?
Also, in the nested table, as the key time column has been set to Cal_month rather than Dimdate_key of the nested table, as a result, would the single series based on the cal_month?
Hope it is clear for your advices and help.
And I am looking forward to hearing from you shortly.
I simply need the ability using SQL to add columns in an existing table before (or after) columns that already exist.
The MS SQL implementation of ALTER TABLE doesn't seem to provide the before or after placement criteria I require. How is this done in MS SQL using SQL or is there a stored procedure I can use?
I am trying to create a whole number DAX calculated column that is derived from a date column. Basically it gets the date from the source data column and outputs it as an integer in the YYYYMMDD format. So 01/OCT/2015 would become --> 20151001...I've been fidgeting with DAX but my problem is that I keep missing the leading zeroes for months and days. So 01/March/2015 becomes 201531 which is not what I want (I need 20150301 in this case).
The sp "up_GetConfigurableDayInterval", will return number of days to add the the current date time. But print getdate() + @Id , is not producing the updated result. But when ever i have replaced the variable "@Id" with a value, Say "5", it is producing the expected result.I have also tested the above code by the following:-
create table Temp(value datetime); insert into Temp values(getdate() + @Id); select * from Temp
Hello all. I was just wondering how I could add the current date and time to the name of the .bak file. I perform a full backup daily and would like to keep a weeks worth of backups, but everytime I run the job, it just overites the previous one.
The command in the wizzard is:
BACKUP DATABASE [snl] TO DISK = N'C:Backups_for_FTPSNL_Full.bak' WITH NOINIT , NOUNLOAD , NAME = N'snl backup', SKIP , STATS = 10, DESCRIPTION = N'SNL Backup', NOFORMAT
Hi,I have an application up and running. I need to add a new column to one of the tables which is currently being used - would adding a new column change or cause errors in the current application? e.g. if the table is being accessed by selecting * from table, will adding a new column cause an error? If there is any circumstance where an error would be caused by adding a new column, I will have to create an entirely new table. If I have to do this - how do I get a column in the new table to have the same values as a column in the old table? Can I create a computed column where column=oldcolumn? Thanks,Jon
hi guys! I have a table with 3 columns but i realized that i need to add 1 column between column 2 and 3. Can anybody please help me on how to do that? Thanks in advance!

I have a sp: mysp_getstuff it contains the following:SELECT Adress,City FROM tblUserData WHERE UserName='john'as you can see it returns 2 columns.I also have another SP: mysp_GetNr. This sp returns an integer.I want to call mysp_getnr from mysp_getstuff and add the result to the 2 columns in a column named 'Number'So the resultset from mysp_getstuff should be:Adress, City, Number (in which the number column contains the result from mysp_GetNr)How can I do that?
I posed this problem a few days ago, but havent been able to generate the results i need. Suppose my resultset from an sql query gathering totalsales for a given day by a salesrep looks like this:Lastname totalsales orderID-----------------------doe 1403 510doe 500 680 doe 200 701using SUM(Accounts.totalsales) is not adding up the totalsales. What do I need to do to add up the totalsales, and then reassign it to a newfield?netsports
I have been working on a website in asp.net1.1 in vb.net2003. I am using a sql2000 server. I am attempting to add a column to my datagrid that will add the total number of wins and output the number in that colum. With some help, I have been able to write the code. However, I am not sure where to put it. Is it a sql function I need to call from my code to add to the win column? Thanks for your help.
I have a table size 2078mb, number of row +530,900. Is it normal for sql to lock users out of the db when I add a column to the end of the table? I'm running SQL 7.0. The table has 4 col regular indexes. No primary keys. It locked the user out for about 10 min. I thought with SQL 7.0 this problem went away?

This is a very simple select but I would like to add a final column that adds the QOH, QOB, QOO and Quantity. How can I accomplish this? Thanks SELECT DISTINCT zcus_MM_Medsurg_Used.stock_no, zcus_MM_Medsurg_QOH_Only.qty_on_hand AS QOH, zcus_MM_Medsurg_Used.QOB, zcus_MM_Medsurg_Used.QOO, zcus_MM_Medsurg_Used.QUANTITY
