I have followed the link to download SP1 of SQLServer 2005 Express Edition, but, on that page nowhere it is mentioned that downloads offered are of SP1, it simply says that SQLServer 2005 Express edition.
What is the correct link and am I really on the correct page of SP1 ?
I'm using MS access to create database using in my company. But by now they are running slowly. I heard that MS sql server 2000 is more powerfull than ms access and i want to lean it. could you give me the link to download free mssql server 2000 ebook such as ms sql 2000 for newbie, step by step and so on. many thanks :p
however I keep getting a page displaying a "Content Not Found" message. Would anyone be able to tell me is this the correct page or should I be downloading this from someplace esle?
Also does the Express edition contain a copy of Enterprise Manager?
I am trying to 'load' a copy of a SQLServer 2000 database to SQLServer 2005 Express (on another host). The copy was provided by someone else - it came to me as a MDF file only, no LDF file.
I have tried to Attach the database and it fails with a failure to load the LDF. Is there any way to bypass this issue without the LDF or do I have to have that?
The provider of the database says I can create a new database and just point to the MDF as the data source but I can't seem to find a way to do that? I am using SQL Server Management Studio Express.
I have SQL Server 2012 SP2 x64 Express Advanced Services installed on Windows 10 Pro 64 bit.
I cannot find the Report Builder download link for SQL Server 2012 SP2 x64 Express Advanced Services on Windows 10 Pro.
Shouldn't the Report Builder link be for SQL Server 2012 SP2 and x64 bit in order to work with SQL Server 2012 SP2 x64 Express Advanced Services on Windows 10 Pro 64 bit?The only Report Builder 3.0 links I have found have been x86 (32 bit) and SP1.
I have an SQLServer Mobile database, and I would like to know if there is a way to upgrade it to SQLServer 2005 (.mdf) database. My database has no records in it, just the structure (tables etc). What I am actually asking is if I can create automatically a new SQLServer 2005 Database with the same structure as my existin SQLSErver Mobile database
Get a filestream download link with only access to read and with folder navigation
I need a link with the path to get the file stream blob, that path could be used to download a document using any windows app like windows explorer, etc. the requirement is that path does not allow customer to navigate in filesstream share folders or see other files and only can read the file of the path,
Checking :
[file_stream].GetFileNamespacePath(2)
Allow you navigate in folders.
NON_TRANSACTED_ACCESS read_only, resolve the requirement to disable the save in file table, but allow you navigate and see other files.
My hosting gives me ASP.NET 2.0 and a shared SQL Server 2005 package. I have Visual Studio 2005 on my machine - which installs SQL Server 2005 Express. I have also installed SQL Server 2005 Management Studio Express. I wish to develop my database locally (mdf file) as I won't always have internet access (and therefore can't always work directly with the remote shared database). My question is, how do I upload my database info from my local machine to my remote shared database? Also I shall wish to download my remote database to my local machine in order to work on the database (and then be able to re-upload it) sometimes. Please can somebody tell me how I can do this? Will SQL Server 2005 Management Studio Express permit me to do this and if so how? If I need the full version of SQL Server 2005 Management Studio then I do have SQL Server 2005 and this install with it (but it all looks a bit complicated to install for me). Many thanks for all help given, Graham
I have created an Access2003 project (existing data) that links to external data. First I connected to a SQL Server 2000 database. Success. Then I tried to set up a Transact SQL data connection to a legacy MDW-secured Access97 database. (A third-party VB6 application goes against it, and we don't have the source code, so we cannot upgrade it.)
The Transact SQL link tests OK but I cannot select any of the tables or queries from the list presented. However, with the same credentials, I can use these same objects in Excel 2003.
When setting up the link in Access2003, I specify JET 4.0 OLE DB Provider, I enter the MDW file on the All tab, a username and a password on the Connection tab where I browse to the MDB file, and specify Shared Deny None on the Advanced tab. When I test the connection, it tests OK ("Test connection succeeded"). Yet on the "Select the Database and Table/Cube which contains the data you want" dialog, "(Default)" appears in the grayed-out dropdown. Then, beneath that dropdown, there is a grid with Name and Description columns. The grid contains query names but the grid is not enabled. The list of queries is this table is grayed out. Neither of the scrollbars works.
BUT... if I use the SAME username and password in Excel2003, and specify the same MDW, there is no problem working with these same database objects in the legacy Access97 database. WHAT IS DIFFERENT ABOUT THE WIZARD IN EXCEL THAT ALLOWS IT TO SUCCEED AND THE WIZARD IN ACCESS THAT CAUSES IT TO FAIL HERE? In Excel, the list of available providers says Microsoft Access Driver, not JET 4.0 OLE DB Provider.
I am using Asp.net 2.0 with C# and sql server 2000. I need to download the file which is stored in sql server database table as image datatype. So I need to download from cs page. Pls reply,Arun.
Hi I'm a newbie at SQL 2005 and I'm trying to create linked tables to our ERP system through ODBC. I can do this in MS Access or vb.net by using the ERP system's ODBC driver, but I am lost when it comes to SQL Server 2005. Thanks for any help
Hi;I thought I would rephrase a question I asked in another post to morequickly get to the heart of the matter. My apologies for anyone whois offended by what appears to be a repetition. My company has two identical web sites. One copy is for our customer, and one copy is for us to test our code changes on.We developed a hard to isolate bug in the copy of the web stie for ourcustomers. We believe the bug might be data related. We would like to replace our test database with our productiondatabase to try to reproduce the problem without interrupting ourservice to our customers. The test database and production database have all the same tables andstructures, but the names of the databases are slightly different. We have tried dropping tables from our test database and importingtables from our customer database in Management Studio. We got thedata but the identity fields were turned off as identities. We canmanually turn them back on in Management Studio, but we have severalhundred tables. In the end we just want to the data from our customer db to be in ourtest db with the test db name being the same, and have our identityfields preserved. What is the easiest way to do this? Thanks in advance for anyinformationSteve
I heard from someone that there is a tool that can verify/check whether the database can be deported to SQL Server 2005 native (90) or not. Is this true?
Where can i get the AdventureWorksDW ETL packages. I attched the AdventureWorks,AdventureWorksDW databases. Now i need ETL packages to transfer the data froam AdventureWorks to AdventureWorksDW.
If anybody knows about this please help me..............
AdventureWorks and AdventureWorksDW are good samples for transaction and dw.
Is there any sample of SSIS package to load data from AdventureWorks to AdventureWorksDW? For example, I'd like to update AdventureWorksDW db everyday from transaction db.
How about if some dimensions changed, like employees, and productions?
I have an sqlserver 2005 Enterprise edition (Evaluation version) installed on one of my servers. It got expired after 180days and now i want to transfer the database that was residing on that Evaluation version sqlserver to a new Development server.
Do we have any way to restore the database from a already expired Sqlserver trail version to a new Development server. I dont want make an upgrade. Please suggest me.
We have upgraded sql server 2000 to sqlserver 2005 on the development server.
To access the database server, we installed the sql server management studio on the client PC with Admin Account. The .Net framework and sqlserver management studio were installed and I am able to access the database from the client PC using Admin Login. Then we logged off and tried to login as user account on the client PC. From the user account login we are unable to open the sql server management studio. The error is as follows €œThe proper type library could not be found in system registry€?
The client PC configuration : windows 2000 Professional ( sp4)
Is there a way to transfer data from a SqlServer db to a SqlServer Express db. I tried to use the backup file of SqlServer, but this file is not valid for SqlServer Express. Or there any alternatives?
I have an app that uses a sqlserver 2000 jdbc driver to connect to a sqlserver 2000.
Is it possible to do a direct replacement of sqlserver 2000 with sqlserver 2005 express just by reconfiguring the app to point to the express? The app would still be using the sqlserver 2000 jdbc driver to try and make the connection.
If that is a possibility, what can be some differences in the configuration? Previously with 2000 the config information I entered is:
server name: "machinename"( or ip). I've also tried "machiname/SQLEXPRESS"
DB name: name of db instance
port: 1433(default)
user and pass.
My attempts so far results in
"java.sql.SQLException: [Microsoft][SQLServer 2000 Driver for JDBC]Error establishing socket."
and
"java.sql.SQLException: [Microsoft][SQLServer 2000 Driver for JDBC]Unable to connect. Invalid URL."
I am in the process of planning a server upgrade to sql2005 x64.
I created 2 linked servers: one to a SQL2000 sp4 server and one to a SQL7.0 SP3.
I have the following error when I query the linked servers. OLE DB provider "SQLNCLI" for linked server "IVDM2K" returned message "Unspecified error". OLE DB provider "SQLNCLI" for linked server "IVDM2K" returned message "The stored procedure required to complete this operation could not be found on the server. Please contact your system administrator.". Msg 7311, Level 16, State 2, Line 1 Cannot obtain the schema rowset "DBSCHEMA_TABLES_INFO" for OLE DB provider "SQLNCLI" for linked server "IVDM2K". The provider supports the interface, but returns a failure code when it is used.
I am aware of KB 906954. http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;906954
I applied the instcat.sql on the SQL2000SP4 server and my linked server issues for that one are gone.
However, I ran the instcat.sql script on the SQL7.0 sp3 server and the linked server is still giving me an issue.
I'm trying to export a SQL 2005 express database to SQL 2000 without success, really a pain in the ass :-( But I found that it may be a hope but I can't find the page to download the in this page mentioned additional download for SQL 2005 express that will add DTS functionality to it.
I have created a linked server on which following query works fine.
EXECUTE ('SELECT TOP 10 * FROM dummyOBJECTS') AT [REMOTE]
but the same statement executed with openquery
select * from openquery([remote],'select top 10 * from dummyObjects') returns following error.
Msg 7356, Level 16, State 1, Line 1 The OLE DB provider "SQLNCLI" for linked server "remote" supplied inconsistent metadata for a column. The column "dummyObjectID" (compile-time ordinal 1) of object "select top 10 * from dummyobjects" was reported to have a "Incomplete schema-error logic." of 0 at compile time and 0 at run time.
