Process AS2000 Cubes In SSIS

I would like to process an AS 2000 cube in SSIS.
I'm using the 'Analysis Services Processing Task', but I just get the error 'A connection cannot be made. Ensure the server is running'.
It would be an unfortunate limitation if you can only process 2005 cubes in SISS. Does anyone know if its possible to process 2000 cubes in SSIS?

Process Cubes And All Depedent Objects
Nov 13, 2007I need to design an SSIS package that processes three cubes within a SSAS database and all their related dimensions.
I also need to ensure this SSIS task is transactional (i.e users are able to browse and query the cube continuously throughout the day...even while the cubes are being processed).
I have noticed that simply adding an Analysis Services Processing Task, and having that task process the 3 cubes with the process options set to "Process Update" and the "Process affected Objects" (visible after clicking change settings) selected DOES NOT force the processing of the dependent dimensions of the cubes.
I have also tried changing the Process Options of the 3 cubes to "Process Full"
I also get errors implying that attribute keys in the fact table are not found in the dimension indicating that the cube is being re-processed before the dimensions have or the dimensions were not re-processed. I came to that conclusion because..If I manually (via management studio) process the dimensions and then the cubes immediately after this error...there are no errors.
I have worked around this by creating two tasks. The first processes the dimensions and the second processes the cubes. This however will not work for jobs run in the day..since it means the cubes may be in an invalid state when the dimensions are being processed.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Any advice or standards that might help?

Analysis :: Copy Roles Between 2 Cubes
Jun 5, 2007I work with 2 cubes on live and one for development. I've set the roles in the live cube (using SQL Server management studio). If i go to the design mode of the cube the new roles are not there, so deploying the cube will not update the development cube with the roles. How one can easily copy roles between cubes. (adding them manually would be a lot of work because there are quite a lot of different roles).

In my configuration I have to use both servers.
The cubes are stocked in 2005 server.
May I transfer from 2005 to 2000 Analysis Services the cubes?
If yes, what is the procedure? The result of migration is the same in the two different versions?
If not, how can I solve this problem?

May 7, 2015I am running into a problem where Excel 2010 is freezing when I try to work with data coming from a Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3 pre-built cube.
What is happening is that when I go to add a second dimension to my pivot table, excel locks up and becomes completely unresponsive for at least 2 hours. If I add the dimension to the table before the measure though, everything is fine.
For Example, I am trying to build a sales report with the product name and customer name as dimensions, and Sales as the measure. If I add the product name to my pivot table as a column and then sales as a measure, Excel will freeze when I try to add the customer dimension. However, if I add both dimensions to the pivot table first and then the measure, Excel seems to work fine.

Analysis :: Grand Totals Not Adding Up In Power View On Molap Cubes?
Nov 12, 2015My Power view reports do not show the grand totals correctly. I think my issue relates perfectly to [URL]. However we have updated service pack 2 on both the sql data warehouse and the ssas box. They are 2012. However the power view is still incorrect. Pivot tables seem to work just fine. In AS I have a 2 separate measure groups that has a total count. I then use mdx to bring those two together. Something I have done many times in past with as 2008. My mdx looks like this below. I then hide Total Count EC (from measure group 1) and Total Count SF (from measure group 2). This way I have 1 total count value and they can use another dimension to see the two separate if needed.

The measure Total Count EC works just fine but the Total Count (MDX) does not . All in Power Pivot works fine but in Power View the grand totals are not correct.

Oct 21, 2015I am facing issue with partition processing. I am having a SSAS cube which is having 5 partitions. These partitions are processed through a sql server job using SSIS packages. In packages I used SSAS process task to do this.Now problem is, job is running successfully and showing that the step which is having partition process also fine.But data is not updating in the partition. While checking the partition properties, it is not updated with recent date and time.
When I try to manually process the partition, it is getting succeeded and recent data is getting reflected with recent date and time.Package configuration is done in job itself.

Engine with StoredProcs for calling and executing xp_cmdshell for the Ascmd.Actually all works fine for our smaller cubes. For the bigger one we got the following issue. The cube is being synced but the proc delivers error.In the log we found this entry:

This article show how to create new user and setup for sql server notification.But In my case user was alredy existing in database. which is very common senario in most cases. So i did following( check the SQL script below) but then i get this error

Does Sql server have any in built functions to accomadate this type of analysis.

I am running into an interesting scenario on my desktop. I'm running developer edition on Windows XP Professional (9.00.3042.00 SP2 Developer Edition). OS is autopatched via corporate policy and I saw some patches go in last week. This machine is also a hand-me-down so I don't have a clean install of the databases on the machine but I am local admin.
So, starting last week after a forced remote reboot (also a policy) I noticed a few of the databases didn't start back up. I chalked it up to the hard shutdown and went along my merry way. Friday however I know I shut my machine down nicely and this morning when I booted up, I was in the same state I was last Wenesday. 7 of the 18 databases on my machine came up with
FCB:pen: Operating system error 32(The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.) occurred while creating or opening file 'C:Program FilesMicrosoft SQL ServerMSSQL.1MSSQLDataTest.mdf'. Diagnose and correct the operating system error, and retry the operation.
and it also logs
FCB:pen failed: Could not open file C:Program FilesMicrosoft SQL ServerMSSQL.1MSSQLDataTest.mdf for file number 1. OS error: 32(The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.).
I've caught references to the auto close feature being a possible culprit, no dice as the databases in question are set to False. Recovery mode varies on the databases from Simple to Full. If I cycle the SQL Server service, whatever transient issue it was having with those files is gone.
As much as I'd love to disable the virus scanner, network security would not be amused. The data and log files appear to have the same permissions as unaffected database files. Nothing's set to read only or archive as I've caught on other forums as possible gremlins. I have sufficient disk space and the databases are set for unrestricted growth.
Any thoughts on what I could look at? If it was everything coming up in RECOVERY_PENDING it's make more sense to me than a hit or miss type of thing I'm experiencing now.

Im designing a package that uses Microsofts preplog.exe to prepare web log files to be imported into SQL Server
What Im trying to do is convert this cmd that works into an execute process task
D:SSIS ProcessPrepweblogProcessLoad>preplog ex.log > out.log
the above dos cmd works 100%
However when I use the Execute Process Task I get this error
[Execute Process Task] Error: In Executing "D:SSIS ProcessPrepweblogProcessLoadpreplog.exe" "" at "D:SSIS ProcessPrepweblogProcessLoad", The process exit code was "-1" while the expected was "0".
There are two package varaibles
User::gsPreplogInput = ex.log
User::gsPreplogOutput = out.log

Execute Process Task Error - The Process Exit Code Was 1 While The Expected Was 0.
Jan 30, 2007How do I use the execute process task? I am trying to unzip the file using the freeware PZUnzip.exe and I tried to place the entire command in a batch file and specified the working directory as the location of the batch file, but the task fails with the error:
SSIS package "IngramWeeklyPOS.dtsx" starting.
Error: 0xC0029151 at Unzip download file, Execute Process Task: In Executing "C:ETLPOSDataIngramWeeklyUnzip.bat" "" at "C:ETLPOSDataIngramWeekly", The process exit code was "1" while the expected was "0".
Task failed: Unzip download file
SSIS package "IngramWeeklyPOS.dtsx" finished: Success.
Then I tried to specify the exe directly in the Executable property and the agruments as the location of the zip file and the directory to unzip the files in, but this time it fails with the following message:
SSIS package "IngramWeeklyPOS.dtsx" starting.
Error: 0xC002F304 at Unzip download file, Execute Process Task: An error occurred with the following error message: "%1 is not a valid Win32 application".
Task failed: Unzip download file
SSIS package "IngramWeeklyPOS.dtsx" finished: Success.
The command in the batch file when run from the command line works perfectly and unzips the file, so there is absolutely no problem with the command, I believe it is just the set up of the variables on the execute process task editor under Process. Any input on resolving this will be much appreciated.
