Mar 29, 2004Does anyone know of a commercial hosting service that is supporting the new Reporting Services? The hosters I have talked to don't even know what it is.

it is means
1. Services Host -> supply app run environment, like IIS
or 2.Server -> Waiting for the link (Server)
PS. SQL SERVER COMPACT 3.5 can also use it

Hosting Multiple Environments On One Report Server

All,
Is there a way to simulate hosting three environments on one Report Server. Due to resource limitations, I would like to set up three environments DEV, TEST, STAGE on one report server such that the data source for each environment would be different. Can I use a different folder structure for each and then deploy the reports by providing server url accordingly?
e.g.
http://servername/DEV_Reports or should it be (http://servername/ReportServer/DEV_Reports)
http://servername/TEST_Reports
http://servername/STAGE_Reports
and then in each of the above define a datasource that has connections to appropriate database on db server. Can we do something like this?

MS Reporting Services Hosting Issue
Apr 2, 2008We are currently hosting the .Net 1.1-web application, MS Reporting and SQL Server on the same box. The box is outside the firewall and call to reporting services from web server works fine. Now we are separating all software€™s from one machine (.Net web application on one machine, SQL server on other machine & Reporting services on other machine). The issue we are facing here is the when we call reporting services from the web server the reporting server page is not displayed as that box in with in the firewall not published outside.
My Web.config looks like this.

How To Import SQL 2005 .BAK From One Hosting Package To A Different Hosting Package?

I have a SQL .bak generated by our existing hosting package at 1and1.com, I want to import that SQL .bak to our new hosting package at ixwebhosting.com.
ixwebhosting.com don't have a import feature in their control panel.
I have to maintain the SQL at ixwebhosting.com using Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio Express since they don't have that feature in their cp. I don't see any import features in Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio Express either.
How can I import it using Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio Express or another free GUI program?

Jul 5, 2012I have written a report visual studio. Â The report has 10 multi-value parameters that pull data from their individual data sets within the reports. Â When running the report from within Visual Studio it renders fine. Â There are no errors reported, only a warning related to a pathname I have use to retrieve image data and display on the report.Deployment of the report is error free.When I view the report I briefly get the "Loading" splash window, but then nothing. Â None of the headers or static text is displayed. Â The results window is blank.
The report defaults all the parameter values. Â In trying to debug the issue I have found by reducing the number of parameter values the report will render. Â Once I have all the values added, the report does nothing.Below is the query being used for the report. Â The where clause in the query shows the parameters being used and the syntax.We are running on Windows Server 2008 R2 and SQL Server 2008 R2.

Reporting Services :: Open Report In Excel But Need Raw Data Not Duplicate Of Report Output
Nov 23, 2015We are about to implement SSRS reports (SQL Server 2012), and have found one issue we don't like. The report looks great when we open it in pdf format. However, when we open it in Excel format, we want it to be the raw data, not look like the pdf report. I tried the simpl headers, and that removed the page header/footer. However, the report format was still in play.In other words, we would like the report when opened in Excel, to look just like it does when we open it as a CSV.I have tried to modify the config file a couple of times. Here is my latest attempt:

Essentially I have set Visible = "false" for the Excel type, and tried to duplicate the CSV, changing the name to make it look to the user like it is "Excel". This fails. I checked the event viewer, and I see two entries.. The RSReportServer.config file has been modified. (Information)The value for UrlRoot in RSReportServer.config is not valid. The default value will be used instead.I literally took the file, opened it in Notepad, pasted in my changes, from another notepad window, and tried to run the report. I did not see EITHER of the two names I expected, using the OverrideNames tag. As I said earlier, I was able to affect the outcome, by setting SimpleHeaders to true (or however it is identified). That did work in that the page header and footer was removed.

When I go to export option in preview I can see all data coming in one excel sheet, But I am trying to get 2 tables in 2 different pages in Excel when I export.First page of excel comes with first table data with 4 columns and second page of excel comes with second table data with 4 columns .

Aug 28, 2015I have few reports under different folders in Report Manager. Is there a way to set the data source for the whole folder rather than each report individually? There is also a folder where reports generate dynamically. Since the report project doesn't exist anymore, I can't set the data source through code. It prompts for login when i wanted to run the report and i used the same windows authentication to sign in

I have a 3 columns in my matrix in the SSRS summary report. Actn_COAST, ActnCITY and NumbOfAccts. Â
The following is code for my summary report. The results are shown below.

I have linked my report based on the NumbOfAccts column. I am able to get data if I click any of the NumbOfAccts values related to the state I want. However when I am not sure how to make the subtotal and grand total work. I want when I click on the subtotal of either coast, I should be able to see records of that coast e.g., if I select 37 I should be able to see all the records in East Coast. If I click on the Grand Total, I only want data related to those 2 coasts.

I'm having problems navigating from one report to another one if the second report has a multi-valued report parameter. When I navigate to the second report, I don't pass any parameters, but I get an error "parameter is missing a value" for the multi-valued report parameter. I have it setup as allow "multi-value" and "blank value". Any idea what the issue might be?

I need to prevent domain and local administrators from having full control over our report manager. (I want them to be assigned permissions just like everyone else, some reports they can see other reports they can not.)
How can I accomplish this? I tried going into Report Manager -> Site Settings -> Configure Site Wide Security and re-assigning BUILTINAdministrators to the System User role instead of the System Administrator role. (A different set of report manager admins was given the system administrator role).
However, it appears that members of the BUILTINAdministrators group still have full control in Report Manager.

Feb 23, 2007 I installed SQL reporting services 2005 and successfully configured reporting services.After designing the report using Bussiness Intelligence Studio, i tried to deploy my reporting services application to the localhost , I got the below mentioned error :

Reporting Services :: To Suppress Whole Main Report When Sub Report Has No Data
Apr 21, 2015I have a SSRS report with 4 sub reports embedded. Previously i faced a situation where sub reports was getting displayed with static data even if there is no data being pulled from data set. I solved this problem according to solution provided in my previous post here. Now blank space is getting displayed in place of empty sub report. But still the main report that hosts empty sub report (Which has a header with header name coming from main data set) is getting displayed. Is there any way wherein the whole main report can be suppressed when the sub report  has no data?

Reporting Services :: Report Builder - Add Report Processing Time?
Feb 26, 2015I was wondering if there was any way to add a value field to a report, with the time it took for the report to Process.
It would probably be a text field with an Expression, but don't know how that would go.
I know that in Expression there is a value for ExecutionTime (when report began to run), but nothing about when it ends.Can this be done? and if yes, how?

Mar 22, 2011Is there a way to see Report-Level variables in Report Builder 3.0? Also, just as a feedback, it would be really nice if there were a way to see and easily access all of the variables used in a report from one location instead of going to the dataset, the report, and then to the individual groups (if needed) to see the variables. Also, it would be very useful if Group-level variables can show up in the Expression Builder as well.

Jul 6, 2015I've gotten to the point of publishing the new reports on the SSRS server and have run into the following problem.
I use a field in the primary report with the "Go to report" action to open up another report (also published) for more details. It works properly from within ReportBuilder (2.0) using the report server and I can go to and from the secondary report as I expect. Its passing the correct parameters to the second report and its runs.
But when I use the reports from the SSRS web, the Go To link no longer works. Mouse hover shows its still a link but clicking goes no where. I can run both reports independently from SSRS and they still work. Â
I've tried this in IE and Chrome with no luck in either. I also poked around at Compatability view and popup blocker but nothing made any difference.
