Is It Possible To Have More Than One Table Footer Rows ?

Jan 26, 2007

Well, we can add another table footer row by right-clicking on the footer row of the table and select, Inser Row Above, or, Insert Row Below.

But, I want to set different values to same properties of rows. Such as;

Row3.RepeatOnNewPage = False

Row4.RepeatOnNewPage = True

What do you say ?

Footer Rows To Skip

Feb 7, 2006

OK. We know there is Header rows to skip options and it works great.

I've got the file that has a "footer". Here is an example:

.
PSC
filename=table1
records=0000000000525
ldbname=db1
timestamp=2006/02/07-16:25:00
numformat=44,46
dateformat=mdy-1910
map=NO-MAP
cpstream=ISO8859-1
.
0000260611

It's ALWAYS last 12 rows.

Is there a way to split at this point and put the 12 rows in a different location? The task is twofold - I don't need these control rows in my data and I need value of "records" to verify loaded number of rows.

UPDATED: After some testing I found out that the Flat File source does not see that footer at all. This is good and bad - I do want to load this metedat into some other tables.

Dima.

Including Text And Count Function In The Same Table Footer

Feb 5, 2008

Hi

I know this is going to sound embarassingly obvious, but i cannot find a quick solution.

I have some data, I display that data in a table. Simple so far.

I have a table footer, which I want to display the total number of rows returned.

For example

"Total Rows Returned ="

Now I know how to get the total rows returned:

CountRows("Dataset1")

However when I try to put the two together like this:

= "Total Rows Returned =" + CountRows("Dataset1")

I just get the whole thing outputted, and no total for totalrows...

Anyone know what I am doing wrong?

Conditional Formatting On Text Color In Group Footer

Hello,

I am having a problem trying to do some conditional formatting on the text color.

This textbox is in the Group Footer so i essentially want change the color to red if the SUM of one field in the group is less than the SUM of another field in the same group.

I am doing this:
=Iif(Sum(Fields!YTDChargeHours)< Sum(Fields!YTDForecast), "Red", "Black")

but i am getting this error:

[rsRuntimeErrorInExpression] The Color expression for the textbox €˜YTDChargeHours€™ contains an error: Operation is not valid due to the current state of the object.

Transact SQL :: How To Bulk Insert Rows From Text File Into A Wide Table Which Has 1400 Columns

Feb 3, 2010

we can easily load a file into db tables. However, my main concern here is the number of columns in the file. A text file TEXT_1400.txt has 1400 columns. I am unable to load data to my db table using BCP or BULK INSERT commands, as maximum of 1024 columns are allowed per table in SQL Server 2008.

We can still go ahead and create ‘Wide Table’ (a special table that holds up to 30,000 columns.  The maximum size of a wide table row is 8,019 bytes.). But when operating on wide table, BCP/BULK INSERT commands still fail. After few hours of scratching my head over BCP and BULK INSERT, I observed that while inserting BCP/BULK INSERT commands are unable to identify SPARSE columns and skip these columns, which disturbs column mapping and results in data conversion and trancation errors.

Is there any proper way to load this kind of files into the db table?

SQL Server 2008 :: How To Pivot Unknown Number Of Rows To Columns Using Data As Column Headers

Sep 10, 2015

I have a single table that consist of 4 columns. Entity, ParamName, ParamsValue and ParamiValue. This table stores normalized Late Fee related parameters for apartments. The Entity field contains a code that identifies the apartment complex. The ParamName in a textual field that contains the name of the parameter that the other 2 fields define the value for; ParamsValue and ParamiValue. If the Late Fee parameter (as named in ParamName is something numerical then the value for that parameter can be found in ParamiValue else its in ParamsValue.

I don't know if 'Pivot' is the correct term to use for describing what I am trying to do because I've looked at the Pivot examples and I don't see how that will work for this. Using the Table and data as provided below, how would I construct a query so that I get 1 row per Entity in which the columns are the ParamsValue or ParamiValue for the ParamName listed in the column header (for the query)?

Below is the DDL to create the table and populate it.

BCP To Csv (that Part Is Ok) WITH Dynamic File Headers And Footers (NOT Ok)

May 5, 2008

Hi All.
I am building an SSIS job that will export some data to a csv then ftp it to a remote site.
I have been able to create the csv alright, but I need to add header and footer lines to the csv.

The header must be:

Filename+ crlf (will not change)
File type+ crlf (will not change)

Create date+ crlf (obviously changes) -- format is mmddyyyy as text

And the footer is:

Filename+ crlf (will not change)
File type+ crlf (will not change)

Create date+ crlf (obviously changes) -- format is mmddyyyy as text

Total rows+ crlf (obviously changes)

So I need to first open the file, count the number of rows, then add the header and footer lines.

I would like to do this as a step in ssis, as a function (not by calling a compiled assembly or anything like that). I have no experience with vb.net, and haven't been able to find any snippets on the web that seem to work. Can anybody lend a hand? thx. David
