I'm not too sure if this should be in this forum or in the admin one, but since DBCC is required to fix this error, so I might as well put it here. What I'm having is this error msg:
Attempt to fetch logical page in database 'DBName' belongs to object 'TableName', not to object 'TableName'.
Error: 605, Severity: 21, Stat: 1
I've checked BOL and it said that DBCC CheckTable on the 2nd table will fix this issue (or by using CheckDB), that is fine but what I want to know is why is this happening, and how to prevent it, I have a cluster server holding this DB, we have disabled write cache and we have tried to fail over to another node, but this issue does happen again (more often now), its running on SQL 2000 with sp4. Anyone got any ideas of why this is happening? and how to prevent it?

I have SQL 2005 with sp1 (can't get sp2 to install yet), with a failover cluster (that works, but hasn't needed to be used in awhile), and the data resides on a, new, 1TB SAN array.
We were not aware one of our tables were corrupt until the last rotation of our backup included the corrupt table. So restoring isn't an option. rebuilding the table is a last resort. I would like to understand how this happened, and how to prevent it.
The error when trying to do anything to the table, read, edit, drop, etc:

the first allocation unit # is sysobjvalues, and the second is g2_pluginparametermap

I thought for sure I had manually made a backup quite awhile ago when I knew this table was fine. I restored the backup to a new database and am having the same exact problem.

also, I captured this error and I'm not sure if this had caused the error above.
"Error: 0, Severity: 19, State: 0
SqlDumpExceptionHandler: Process 52 generated fatal exception c0000005 EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION. SQL Server is terminating this process."

We tried to restore an empty database from a backup and got:
'Load database encountered an invalid logical page number' error.
This then set the database as 'loading'
Anyone got any ideas?
We aren't exactly sure how big the first database was when the backup was done but if the new database isn't big enough to contain the backed up data, wouldn't we get a more meaningful error?

we consistently have logical page errors on one of our SQL Servers.
The output from CHECKDB is shown below. Any ideas why this keeps happening. We recently replaced the disk thinking this would solve the problem.

repair_allow_data_loss is the minimum repair level for the errors found by DBCC CHECKDB (ISS ).

I have a problem with a database in SQL Server 2000 8.00.194. I have read similar cases in the forum, but in all the cases the expert paulrandal requests sent it a detail of dbcc page ().
By mistake the user try to restore a backup on this database, the user realized the error and press the "stop" button of the SQL Server, the process stopped but the database is not recognized from SQL Server 2000.
I have opened the file. mdf and the previous data are inside.
I attach the database in "DBO Use Only" state using the tool "REBUILD_LOG"
when I execute DBCC CHECKDB ('<db_name>') I have the same symptoms that in the post

In my SSRS report. I have a report which has only one page. In preview it is showing as only 1 page but when I am printing the report. I am getting two printouts with the second page as a blank.. Please help me in printing the page that contains report. Intially I used a Page header, at that it used to print the blank page with a header only. i am creating a service broker application between two different instance.when i am initiating a dialog from the source my message remain in the sys.transmission_queue.but its transmission_status column is empty.
i attached the profiler with both source and target by including all the service broker event.
in my source profiler i am getting the error like -- Connection attempt failed with error: '10061(No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.)'. with event Broker:connection
and in the target profiler error is --This message could not be delivered because the security context could not be retrieved. with event Broker:Message Undelivarible.
i have checked my port also using telnet with remotely and localy both working fine. i am using port no. 4001
and i have mentioned the port no. in the address of the route.
bt still getiing the error.

We have a stored procedure that calculates the floor nr for users at our company campus using their office location. The calculation is done by a function that returns an integer. Unfortunately, not all users enter their information correctly so the function sometimes raises an error. Below is the code of that stored procedure.

However, when the function dbo.FloorNR fails, it doesn't raise our error, but it seems to raise the error that comes from dbo.FloorNR.
How can we catch errors that come from dbo.FloorNr so that we can raise our own error? Our company still uses SQL 2000, so we cannot use the SQL 2005 try/catch option.
I am getting this error even though there should be data present. When I test the SQL statement in query analyzer, it returns 1 row.

When debugging this code and stopping on this line:

rdrFirstEntryData has the following values:hasRows = True, FieldCount=1, Item=In order to evaluate an indexed property, the property must be qualified and the arguments must be explicitly supplied by the user. and when i click the refresh button...Item = Overload resolution failed because no accessible 'Item' accepts this number of arguments.
I suspect that the note for "Item" is my clue to the source of the problem, but I don't know what it means. Please, help.

The insert trigger I created works fine (well, nearly fine), except that AFTER the first insert operation (ie second, third etc), it always produces the correct results BUT FOR THE PREVIOUS INSERTED ROW. It is as if there is a latency of one row in the temp table INSERTED.
I would greatly appreciate a 'why', and more importantly, a 'how to fix it' for this problem.

I've just created my first projects using Visual Studio 2005 and SQL 2005 Express. This is the basic;
One windows service is created that updates a database. The windows service running under "Local system" account
One windows application where a user can see data (and change) from the database
A common business and dataaccess layer/project is used by both applications
Connection string to the database: "Data Source=.SQLEXPRESS;AttachDbFilename=|DataDirectory|DataDatabase.mdf;Integrated Security=True;Connect Timeout=60;User Instance=True"
Both application is located in the same directory. When the computer starts the windows service starts and works perfectly. But when a user starts the windows applications the following error is reported "An attempt to attach an auto-named database for file..A database with the same name exists, or specified file cannot be opened, or it is located on UNC share".
It look likes that only one of my application can connect to the database at a time!
Is it possible to use separate applications to connect to the same database file?

I have seen some solutions of which I tried on this form for the error I am receiving, but I still cannot get the issue resolved.
Here is my case:
I developed an app using SQL Express as the local data source. I published it to my server using the Once Click install feature. When I look in my project viewer, under settings, My db connection strings are listed as follows: Data Source=.SQLEXPRESS;AttachDbFilename=|DataDirectory|TAP_Master.mdf;Integrated Security=True;User Instance=True
From another computer, I navigate to the publish site, install and run the application with no problems. I have on another computer, the same app with an updated version number that I wish to publish, however the difference is is that this published version does not include the database as I do not want the end user to overwrite any existing data that they may have from the previous version.
I publish the updated version, install it but when the app runs, I receive the message, "An attempt to attach an auto-named database for file".
Any suggestions?

I am using the Centralized Asynchronous Auditing with Service Broker article example to set up my first Service Broker attempt. We want to start logging search criteria and search results for our product search page. We wanted it to be asynchronous and be stored in another dbase, this seemed like the perfect example.
I modified the example above to save into an Audit table we created and to read a custom message that I generated the XML for. I'm pretty certain that should all work. However, I didn't change much else but I can't get the message to send.
This is the error I'm getting in profiler:

When I run SELECT * FROM sys.transmission_queue I get this in the transmission_status:

I have encountered some strange output when testing an SSIS package I've been working on.
Please see this thread for background information: http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=1590716&SiteID=1. The previous thread was resolved and i have used the tips listed here to create a package with Data Flow Tasks that use expressions to create 'dynamic' queries.
The Data Flow tasks use two package-scope variables to determine the date range that they're operating on - this allows me to script the from / to dates (usually 'last week' range) or, in event of error, 'back date' the job easily without having to update each individual components.
However, something weird is happening - when I have two data flow tasks (DFT) in the same Sequence Container (tasks that are not 'connected' or configured to operate in a flow) only one DFT is picking up the package variable & returning the rows. The other DFT is not returning any rows & seems to be using the default value of the variables.
I have tested this by simply enabling DFT A and disabling DFT B - debugging shows only one DFT executes correctly. The same point is illustrated when I disable DFT A and enable DFT B. However, if I configure DFT A to run after DFT B then both pick up the correct variable values and return the correct row counts!!
I want Data Flow Tasks that pull data from the same remote source to be the same sequence containers so when an error occurs I can get container level transaction support.
Note:
I have thoroughly checked the 'evaluated' expressions in IDE and in Management Studio - this is an SSIS specific quirk (or me!).
Questions:
What's happening here, have I made a conceptual error of how this should work?
On the same variable topic: is there a way to set values for package level variables at execute time .e.g via command line execution / dtsexecui??

I have a SQL Server 2008 R2 Cluster. I have moved a file to another drive by adding a new file on the drive, doing a shrinkfile with emptyfile. I have removed the old file and when I try to rename the new file to the old files old name, I get an error.

I am extremely new with .asp. We have the .net framework 1.1 installed on our server and the following query works in Crystal Reports (older version). We would like to have this converted to a .asp page with two inputs. One for the date range and one for the state. Can someone please tell me how to go about this. I do have downloaded as test. Visual Studio 2003.net and Web Matrix. I really am looking for (if there is any) a way to pretty quickly convert query to web pages so users can use them without a huge expense. When i use my insert-exec in my proc, say it Y, and the inner proc is X (don't contain an other insert-exec). when i call the Y proc in sql query analyzer the call is executed and it get me back results.
But when I call the Y proc from an ASP page, the execution is aborted, and I don’t know why, I have tested many thinks but it doesn’t work (for exp: the use commit transaction, set ....).
Please could you tell me if i miss some things i should add to my procs for the IIS web server could have right to execute my Y proc
Configuration of my application
- IIS Web server 6.0
- Sql Server 2000 SP 2.0
- TSQL as a sql language (of course)
- ASP as web porgramming language
- The call of the insert exec proc is as following:

I have 2 separate clients experiencing this problem,
Both systems are
1.Win 2000 Server with Small Business Server 2000 (SP4)
2.SQL Server 2000 (SP2 upgraded to SP4, SP4)
3.Exchange
4.IIS etc
We use SQL Server to connect to FoxPro 2.6 Tables.
We are using OPENROWSET as follows:
Select * from openrowset('VFPOLEDB.1','C:Client Data';;,'Select * from cm')
We are now getting this error:
Server: Msg 7330, Level 16, State 2, Line 1 Could not fetch a row from OLE DB provider 'vfpoleDB.1'. OLE DB error trace [OLE/DB Provider 'vfpoleDB.1' IRowset::GetNextRows returned 0x80040155].
The statement worked up until around 20 days ago, which made us think that it may be windows updates/sps/hotfixes, but i have installed the above on a test machine and installed all windows updates and the test machine works AOK.
Has anybody seen this error?

* while executing this query im getting error. (like varchar cant convert to numberic)
* Here I have no clue in which column it is
* also dont know which row causes it

Hi,
I am having problem with the CRecorset::Update() function.
I have declared a CRecordset object in client Application in VC++6.0.
I open the recordset in dynamic mode.
Before opening the recordset , I have obtained the UPDLOCK on the base table.( Obviously this UPDLOCK is in transaction).
When I try to call CRecordset::Update() it gives me exception 16931(There are no rows in the current fetch buffer).
I have define a clustered index on this table.
But I still get the exception 16931 on calling CRecorset::Update().
Any help is much appreciated.

I'm having problems designing a package to attempt to execute a fast load data transfer but failback to regular speed with error redirection in the event of an error.
The way I designed this was to add one data flow task to my package called "DFT FASTLOAD". The data flow copies a table SRC to another table DEST in the same SQL Server database. In the error handler for the data flow task I copied the original data flow task and changed the name to "DFT REGULARLOAD with Error redirection". In this data flow task I did not use fast load and addtionally redirected errors to a text file.
In the Data Flow Task "DFT FASTLOAD". I am copying from a varchar source field(with non-date strings) to a datetime destination field to force errors. However the Data Flow Task "DFT REGULARLOAD with Error redirection" never seems to start transferring data from source to destination. The data Flow Task "DFT REGULARLOAD with Error redirection" turns yellow (after the error occurs in "DFT FASTLOAD"), but no data is being transferred). It seems like it hangs.
Do I need to increase the MaximumError Count or something? The data flow task "DFT FASTLOAD" does not turn red when the error occurs it just remains yellow, so i assume I'm on the right track since it seems the error is caught.
I have added screenshots ... hopefully these screenshots will clarify my problem.

I am working in a distributed environment, I verified msgs have been successfully send from server1 db1 to server2 db2, but I still get the following error msg from the sender server through SQL profile:
Connection attempt failed with error: '10061(No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.)'.
Does anyone experienced the samething?

I have trying to execute the Sendmail task in my development envinorment i face this error..I have given the clear details error message below,Please have a look.
[Send Mail Task] Error: An error occurred with the following error message: "Failure sending mail.  System.Net.WebException: Unable to connect to the remote server  System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: An attempt was made to access a socket in a way forbidden by its access permissions ".Alternatively  i use the  SMTP connection to create the subscription as well,its working properly.
Here we are accessing SMTP connection manager as Virtually.Here in my client network we are using Macafee Anti virus ,We have excluded the Rsconfigration file in the excluded list.I dont know why this problem occures again using Sendmailtask in ssis?
I receive the following error message when I try to use the Bulk Insert Task to load BCP data into a table:
Error: 0xC002F304 at Bulk Insert Task, Bulk Insert Task: An error occurred with the following error message: "Cannot fetch a row from OLE DB provider "BULK" for linked server "(null)".The OLE DB provider "BULK" for linked server "(null)" reported an error. The provider did not give any information about the error.The bulk load failed. The column is too long in the data file for row 1, column 4. Verify that the field terminator and row terminator are specified correctly.Bulk load data conversion error (overflow) for row 1, column 1 (rowno).".
Task failed: Bulk Insert Task
In SSMS I am able to issue the following command and the data loads into a TableName table with no error messages:
BULK INSERT TableName
FROM 'C:DataDbTableName.bcp'
WITH (DATAFILETYPE='widenative');
What configuration is required for the Bulk Insert Task in SSIS to make the data load? BTW - the TableName.bcp file is bulk copy file as bcp widenative data type. The properties of the Bulk Insert Task are the following:
DataFileType: DTSBulkInsert_DataFileType_WideNative
RowTerminator: {CR}{LF}
Any help getting the bcp file to load would be appreciated. Let me know if you require any other information, thanks for all your help.

I have created one reports but all the records are displaying on one page.find a solution to display the records page by page. I created the same report without group so the records are displaying in page by page.
