Is there a way to combine the Bookmark and report link functionalities in reporting services. For example, I have two reports. When I click a link in first report, I would like to be able to navigate to second report but not at the top of the report but at a particular report item way down in the second report, sort of like an anchor on an HTML page. Can I do this?

I have a report with a hyperlink. When I go to the navigation tab, it does not give me any options to open the link in a new window. I have a link to show help and I do not want the user to actually move away from the reports

I have a chart that jumps quite nicely to a filtered version of the report, but instead would like to be able to jump to the entire report at the specific location (e.g., Bookmark) related to the chart data item.
I know that it's quite easy to jump to a bookmark within the same report. What I can't quite determine is how to jump from one report to a specific section in a second report.

I want to bookMark from one table to another in current report. Below are the 2 tables , when I select a
FromBrandName in the first table, it should take me to the second table row with the same
FromBrandName. Is this possible? Is there a function to access a specific running value other than First and Last?
Can I have a report that is nothing more than a parameter and when the user selects from the list it will jump to another report based on which parameter was selected?
I can create a report with a text box that I can click to jump. I'd like to be able to eliminate the click on text box if possible and jump directly from parameter select pull down box.

I have got a report with external hyperlink.
When I put this link in TextBox properties >> Navigation >> Jump URL of my gridView : http://www.micheldegremont.com it works.
However, if I put "http://www.micheldegremont.com?id=" + Fields!ID.Value it doesn't work. I haven't not link in my report.
And if I put http://www.micheldegremont.com?id=Fields!ID.Value my report create a hyperlink to http://www.micheldegremont.com?id=Fields!ID.Value and no http://www.micheldegremont.com?id=1

Hi all, Hope someone can help me on this. I have a dataset from a stored Procedure which I am displaying on a table, I am using the option from the navigation tab "jump to report" from one of the Textboxes in the table. But I want to use the same set of data but filtered with the selected option on the table. I already have parameters for the Stored Procedure passing them to the "jump to report". But I just cannot figure out how to pass the set data set but filtered for my next report. Is there a way to do this.Or do I have to create another version filtered of the stored procedure used for the original. Ideally, it would be great to use the same dataset but filtered. View 14 Replies View RelatedI'm having trouble dynamically specifying the name of the report I want to drill through to.
I have the follwing expression in the Jump To Report field on the Advanced Textbox Properties Navigation tab:
=IIF( Fields!Third_Element.Value = "NONE", "Details Report.rdl", "Second Level Service Sub Report.rdl")
I get an error saying I'm missing the true part of the expression... Am I specifying the report name incorrectly? Both reports have the same parameters even though each report uses different parameters:
C:devReportsSLA Request TypeService Desk SLA Performance - First Level Service Sub Report.rdl The expression for the textbox €˜Second_Element€™ contains an error: [BC30455] Argument not specified for parameter 'TruePart' of 'Public Function IIf(Expression As Boolean, TruePart As Object, FalsePart As Object) As Object'.
Also, what does the "Omit" parameter do in the paramters set up? I tried dynamically turning parameters on/off based on the report I needed to call and it didn't react as I expected.
Does anyone have any ideas?

I have a report that uses report parameters and navigation in the textbox.
When I click in the textbox, it jumps to the same report, but I cannot see the report parameters any more(hidden ). I cannot change the report parameters.
When I use only the report paramenters (no navigation option), they appear always during the run time.
How can I do to keep the report parameters visible all the time using "jump to the same report"??

I'm having some difficulty linking a custome drilldown or clickthroug report to another report that I have already created in report builder. I followed a MSDN article found at http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms345226.aspx but I cannot find the " Select a page area, select Drill-through reports" option in report manager. Does anyone have a better explanation on how to do this? I'm assuming that when you create the clickthrough report there has to some sore of filter on it that relates to the item of the clickthrough. I guess I'm I little confused, any help would be great. Thanks.

I use ms sql server 2005, and I have a problem
I have a dataBase where I have a lot of data, I have a webServices which calculate indicator for a time period and an id indicator. The time period must be specific and choose by the user, so I can't dto automatically by integrating the data from my webService in a dataBase (with IntegrationServices).
So I create a report with 2 dataset, one which recover the indicator value for each equipment (the webService send a list of {<idEquipment> and <value>}) , and I want to link the idEquipment with the IdEquipement in my dataBase, it would allow me to know other informations about the equipment :
equipement ID | Indicator value (from webServices) | equipment name | eq number | cumul of event duration for this eq....
All in the same grid...
Does it possible ?

But how to do this through a click of a button, inside the report?

Recently, several of our users have started to experience issues with hyperlinks in a report. I have created a textbox added navigation and selected the report to 'jump to' and the users are getting this error:
The specified server url does not link to the report server for this report manager or is not in the correct format
I have changed this to a an url but the error persists - there is nothing on google or MSDN that i can find which relates to this error so im kinda stuck with this one! The error is not affecting all users, just a small subset of them. Each of the users has different AD rights with one of them being a Domain Admin so i dont think it is a security issue.
the hyperlink which is being built is this :

Report manager is installed on several machines as part of a webfarm but this has not caused any problems in the past (i have over 200 reports under my belt thus far)

I am working on a Actuals vs Budget report which needs drillthrough capability. Right now the reports are not deployed, I am working on them in Visual Studio 2005.
My main report has a text box with the Navigation tab set to Jump to report: DrillThrough1025. I have set all the parameters to pass through to the drill through report.
When I preview my main report and click on the drillthrough textbox, the DrillThrough1025 Report opens, but it opens with the parameter bar at the top, waiting for the parameters to be filled in.
Am I making a basic newbie error somewhere?
Any ideas, references, or resources would be greatly appreciated.

I have a column of data on my report that contains an email address. Is it possible to format this so that the person running the report can just click on the link and have that action launch their email program...like Outlook?

Though i am able to open new window report from the link by passing the needed parameter is there any way that we can directly open the excel from the link in data table in report..
I have set up a test subscription that sends an email that includes both the report and the url link to the report. However, the report does not render when user clicks on url link in subscription email. The parameter toolbar sorta appears at top of page but buttons are not showing correcty. I saw similiar issue posted in another forum but no one had resolved yet. We all noticed that the subscription email uses /reportserver folder instead of /Reports folder.
The report does appear fine in the email so I believe the problem is the URL.
Can anyone tell me how to resolve?

In a report called ICD_PrivateHospital, I have designed to show output to two table from two store procedures. 1st store proc: usp_RPT_Private and 2nd store proc: usp_RPT_Private2.
I have created both the store procs and it is executing successfully. I also have designed the Crystal Report in Visual Studio 2008.
I have added both the store procs in the crystal report with no error. I only wants to show top 20 records. It is running successfully when I add the fields and parameters from the first store procedure. But when I add the 2nd store procedures fields into the report, duplication occurs for both the results in store proc 1 and store proc 2. How to solve this issue?
I've created a line chart in my report which lists number of transactions by month. I've also created a report to list transactions by day. My goal is for the user to select a month and link the report to the graph with the selected month divided up into days (in other words, the user wants to see the number of transactions for each day in the selected month).
Anyway, everything is working perfectly except for one thing. In the list of parameters that I am passing to the report for each day, I want to pass a multivalue parameter which contains all the transaction IDs the user selected in creating the report (these are supplied by a multivalue parameter). However, in the parameter dialog box where it asks for a value to send to the awaiting parameter, I do not know how to supply more than one value. If I need to pass one value, it will work fine. However, I would like to do something like:
JOIN(Parameters!TransactionID.value, ",")
for the value of TransactionID, but when I generate the report it is not accepting the values. I'm pretty sure its just a format issue, and I just need to know how exactly I should pass these values.
I already understand that when passing multivalue parameters in a URL you need something like:
TransactionID=1&TransactionID=2
...in order to select multiple values. However, this is a slightly different situation. I'm really running out of ideas, so any help would be much appreciated.

I tried the following:

The link works & i added the parameter in the link (ProcessNo=278)
it opens the report but i still have to manually insert the Parameter.
Also tried setting the parameter as hidden.
How do i bypass this?

I am sure there is a thread about that one but I cannot find it.
I have a server which does not include the correct link with the subsciptions.
I create a subscription and ask to include the link to the reporet, I get the report with the machine name instead of the DNS name.
i.e. i get
The report is accessible at the following address:
http://atlanta/reportserver/...
instead of http://reporting.onsemi.com/reports/....
I tried to edit rswebapplication.config like that
<ReportServerUrl>reporting.onsemi.com</ReportServerUrl>
and rsreportserver.config like that
<DefaultHostName>onsemi.com</DefaultHostName>
but still cannot get the correct URL in the subscription.
Any idea?

When I set up an email subscription for a report, I can get the email notification if I only include a link to the report, but get the generic "Failure sending mail: The report server has encountered a configuration error. See the report server log files for more information." error message when I attempt to include the actual report in the email; either as "Web Archive," or PDF." When I consult the ReportServer log file, I do not see any sort of exception that would indicate the true source of the error.
I have set the file security on the RSTempFiles folder to allow the IIS_WPG group to modify the folder, but when I looked into the RS config files, it looked as though SSRS wasn't configured to use temporary storage.
Any suggestions?

In Report Builder, can you link prompt/filter fields to one another? For instance, I have Users and Groups and I want to dynamically fill the dropdown for Users based on the Group(s) chosen in the group prompt/filter. Or show the hierarchy as a expanding tree list for navigating the hierarchy to choose the user/groups to report on.
Another example would be product category & subcategory in adventure works.
And just to throw in a wrench, one of the areas I want to do this has 4 levels to the hierarchy.

okay, so i've been slowly working on an application mostly VB/ASP.Net based that is basically i dummied down query builder. the user selects a bunch of controls off the website, then submits it for a query. the server then executes a dynamic stored procedure, and the website builds a count with the results. i have a couple of questions, i've come to the point where if the query isnt finished inside 30 seconds, the site times out, so i'm looking at a query here, and i have a "BookMark LOOKUP" that is costing me 32% of the query. what can i do to stop that?
how can i get my indexes to perform faster, and is it an issue with the procedure that causes some queries to time out, or is it just the way the data is organized?
How to add a link to the child report in the page header section of a report in SSRS 2005 ?Basically I want a link to the child report which should appear on all the pages of the report if the report has multiple pages.
We have (SP 2010) 2 SharePoint lists. List A - listing dates and users working those dates. The users field is a Look up Column pulling from List B. Â Â List B -Display detailed information about each user. Also using SQL Server Report Builder
In SP (list A) if you click on the user's hyperlinked name it opens the details perfectly.

However, I am using SSRS and wanting to perform the same functionality. If I display the data, the name fields are not displayed as Hyperlinks. When I attempt to edit,(Action / Go to URL) and paste in;

Every row displays the same (#25) person. If I try something like;

It finds the basic list, but not the specific user. The values are empty.
I need this to be dynamic. How should I edit to show each specific user?
I hope someone can help as I have searched for a solution but been unable to find one as yet.
My problem is that after installing SharePoint V3.0 and amending the Report Server to <ServerName>:8080, as I don't yet wish to use integrated mode, everything works fine except email delivered subscriptions. The URL in the email body referencing the report only puts in <ServerName> etc. omitting the port number :8080. I have tried to find where this URL link is built-up from but have had no luck in the report manager, report services configuration and the config files, does anyone know where I need to look and if possible what I need to amend to have the link include :8080 after the servername portion of the URL. I can copy the URL and manually insert the port address and it works but this defeats the object of automated subscriptions.
Sorry if this is a dumb question but it is giving me a headache at the moment.

I cannot find the Report Builder download link for SQL Server 2012 SP2 x64 Express Advanced Services on Windows 10 Pro.
Shouldn't the Report Builder link be for SQL Server 2012 SP2 and x64 bit in order to work with SQL Server 2012 SP2 x64 Express Advanced Services on Windows 10 Pro 64 bit?The only Report Builder 3.0 links I have found have been x86 (32 bit) and SP1.

Installed SQL Server 2008 with Reporting Services to a Windows Server 2008 box. Tried to open the Report Manager and had no tabs and no Site Settings link - just a blank home page. I am logged onto the server with local administrator rights, so it shouldn't be a permissions issue.
Thinking the installation was bad (IIS was not installed before installing SSRS), I uninstalled and re-installed SSRS after setting up IIS 7 on the server. Still the same issue - just a blank home page in report manager with no ability to add users or assign roles or see anything except the links for "Home", "My Subscriptions", and "Help".
