I am using VS 2003 Enterprise Architect edition and found out that my BI project template is missing. It could be caused by the fact that I had installed SQL Server Reporting Service before I installed VS 2003. Is there anyway I can recover this site template so I can start my RS project? Cheers!
Missing Integration Service Template
Aug 29, 2006I have installed SQL Server 180 day evaluation as well as SQL Server Express but I cannot add a new SSIS project because the template is not there (- in the non-express instance - only Reporting Services). When I try and redo the SSIS part of setup(Add/Remove programs) the report tells me that it is already installed correctly. I have searched for others having this problem to no avail...
What do I need to do to fix it?

1. I am looking for a SSIS Standards document or source. A document developer can use for developing ssis package. This should include how to name each container, task , and how to organize things. Basics of SSIS. Is there some kind of source where i can find this information . We are starting out to migrate from informatica to SSIS but before we do that we would like to put standards in place so all SSIS development is consistent.
2. SSIS project documentation template that we can use to document each project. Â Is there anything out there that we can follow to document each of our project.Â
SQL Server Business Intelligence Development Studio Missing

I have installed SQL 2005 dev version. All the installations were successful. However, I can't find Sql Server Business Intelligence Development Studio (BIDS) from the VS 2005 IDE. I can see Integration Services Project, Analysis Services Project, Integration Services Project, etc except BIDS.
I tried to run sqlexpr_toolkit.exe by itself and it tells me BIDS already installed. Any idea?

Nov 9, 2006I am trying to use the Foreach Loop Container. When I open the container for edit on the Collection page, the Foreach Item and Foreach File enumerators are not listed in the drop down.
I have installed SQL Server 2005 Developer Edition. If there something else I need to install?

Here is the issue I'm encountering.
Steps to recreate:
Start Business Intelligence Stuido
Select New Project
Select Integration Services Project from Templates
Project opens with default package.dtsx
Open Toolbox but I am missing all but a few of my items
Only items available are MAINTENANCE PLAN TASKS and GENERAL(which is totally empty)
I've changed the view from List View to Show All but which will display all the groups but all the options in those groups are grayed out.
I'm running on Windows Vista Business edition with SQL server 2005(9.0.3054) with SSIS installed. If someone could help me figure out why I don't have any avaible options it would be greatly appreciated.
Business Rules Integration In SSIS
Jun 6, 2007Similar to the BizTalk Business Rules engine does the SSIS provide any support for independent business rule management?
I would guess that through the use of Embedded CLR we can invoke the Business rules stored in the Business Rules Engine (either Biztalk Rule Engine or ILOG Rule Engine). Is there a construct in the SSIS similar to the BizTalk Call Rules Construct in the Biztalk Orchestration.
If this mechanism is not the preferred mechanism then are there any other mechanisms offered by SSIS which facilitate the use of Business Rule Engine Components within SSIS which make it easier to manage the business rules outside of the deployment.

I Do Not Have The Option To Create An Integration Service Project In Business Management Studio

I have installed the advanced toolkit for Microsoft Sql server 2005, with the SQL server Business Intelligence Development Studio but I don't have the option the create a Integration Service project. I only have the Report Server project option available.
Do I have to download something else to get it?
I do not have a SQL server instance installed on the machine I installed the toolkit on.

ClubSite Template + Sql Server 2005 Not Cooperating...
Jun 2, 2007I've managed to get the clubsite template from asp.net up and running, sorda (http://www.flysniper.com), I get a system error which I believe is related to the fact that my DB isn't working correctly.
I'm trying to configure it to work with ms sql server 2005 which is running on the same machine as the website.
I've followed the instructions of Scott Gu (http://weblogs.asp.net/scottgu/archive/2005/08/25/423703.aspx)
while trying to run aspnet_regsql.exe I get the following error

with no change in results.
Anything else I should look into?

Integration Services :: Missing Data From Excel
Aug 24, 2015I have a data in excel sheet which is to be loaded to sql table. The Column called seq_num has data with leading 0's these 0's are ignored while loading through ssis.
Example if seq_num is like 0099988 the sql table would get 99988, how to get the whole data with missing anything.
FYI: seq_num on excel source has a data type as dt_r8.

Report Model Template Not Available Within Visual Studio 2005
Apr 4, 2007When I launch Visual Studio 2005 and choose to start a new project...I expect to see "Report Model" as an available template (at least that is what my book says).
How can I install this?
Why is it missing? Is it due to the order of my installations? I installed RS first then Visual Studio.

Integration Services :: Oracle Provider For OleDB Is Missing?

Software : Oracle Clients 32bit and 64 bit (11g), SSIS 2012
I have installed both 32bit and 64bit oracle ODACs during the clients installations, and then i have installed the ssis 2012.
When i open .udl file i can see the 'Oracle Provider for OLE DB' provider and connect to the oracle db.
When i try to open new Ole DB connection in the ssis the 'Oracle Provider for OLE DB' is not listed under the 'Native Ole DB' providers.
i tried to reinstall both ODACs of 32 and 64 bit of the oracle but still the provider is not listed under the ssis providers.why ?

How do I catch the extract date in the transformation? SSIS only shows me the <counters> element and not the <extract> one. Why? Is there a way to get it?Regards,

Aug 17, 2015I have to load on SS2012 hundeds of excel files produced by an application over the last five years, during time few columns have been added to the initial set.I created on SS2012 a table to match with the full set of columns and want to load all the files inside the table leaving the missing cells to NULL. I think SSIS can do the job but every trial failed do far.

I have SRS configured in SharePoint Integration mode. I have exposed a site collection under two MOSS-enabled websites - the first site has Forms Authentication enabled and the second site has Windows Integrated security enabled.
I have noticed that when I access the website with Forms Authentication I an unable to select "New (Report Model/Report Builder/Report DataSource)" options on my SRS integrated document library. When I access the site using WIndows Integrated security the menu options appear fine. Is there some sort of security trimming happening here that I am not aware of?

SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 2 Has Not Upgraded Visual Studio 2005 Business Intelligence Tools

I understand from previous threads that installing SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 2 on the desktop client can speed up the response rate of the Visual Studio 2005 Business Intelligence Tools.
However after logging on as an administrator and installing Service Pack 2, Service Pack 2 returned no errors. However after launching Visual Studio and clicking on the about dialog box the version reported was still €œRTM.050727-4200€? where I was expecting to see €œSP.050727-7600€?.
I understood that I applied the same service pack to my copy of SQL Server on my laptop and the upgrade worked successfully.
Can anyone help?

May 7, 2008I installed sql server 2005 sp2 including business intelligence development suite , however I got a message
some client components not compablitable .This morning I searched my programs and found that I have new
visual studio 2005 on my computer (before I just had vs 2008) as well as business intelligence
developer (which does not work) It seems I I would like to get rid of vs 2005 also
fix business intelligence studio . Previously I deleted vs 2005 express off my computer........(I have vista
and I would only like to keep tools meant for sql standard 2005 reporting services etc

By the way I doubled clicked sql_tools.msi and did not run as administrator
Does that make a difference? I wonder if this is a problem with vs 2008 and sql 2005......

I am having a problem with connecting to SQL Server 2005 database from Office Business Scorecard Manager 2005 (the connection string i am using is: provider=SQLOLEDB;Data source=server_name; Initial catalog=database_name). But the connection failed. Would please any experts here shed me any light on what is the problem and how to fix it then? As there is no any forum for Office Business Scrorecard manager 2005. Therefore I post my thread here as it is related to the connection to SQL Server 2005 database engine, thought here is the best place for this question.

When I go to create SSIS project I dont see it in visual studio 2008. What do I have to do to make it appear in visual studio 2008 so that I can create SSIS projects.

Oct 23, 2007Does anyone have a successful prescribed sequence for installing VS2005 and Business Intelligence Reports Projects on a Vista Business workstation to be used to create reports for a server?
I've looked through everything I can find here and I don't seem to see a clear solution without a lot of trial and error.
Fact is, I've not been successful getting just the reports to install on a plain XP box. Of course, the report creation looks fine on the server but I don't want to work directly on the server.

Synchronization Of Business Contacts In Outlook With Small Business Accounting
Jun 10, 2006Can anyone take me through synchronization of contacts within Business Contacts Outlook into Microsoft Small Business Accounts?
I run a stand alone PC with NO network. When SBA came SQL was also installed. Apparently you can synchronise Contacts within Business Contacts with SBA but both SBA & Outlook should work through the same SQL server.
Has anyone tried this?
Can someone walk me through the process?

I am trying to install SQL 2005 Developer edition on my machine - Vista Business edition.
My machine has 2 GB RAM with 160 HDD. IIS is on. Still I am getting the following warring messages.
- Minimum Hardware Requirement
- IIS Feature Requirement
I am not able to proceed with the installation due to this.
