Apr 15, 2008I need to create a stored procedure to select records that cal_callin_tm (this is a datetime field in table) is less than 10 minutes of the current system datetime. I want to update cal_callin_tm field with current system time and pass back the cal_assign_off_p field to my VS 2008/C# windows form. I'm new at SQL code, I know the basic stuff but this requires more knowledge than I have. I need from you experts the best practice to accomplish coding the SQL. I have some junk code below I have started with, help me out.

May 9, 2015I needed to create a stored procedure to lock a user who makes 3 incorect entries of his password. I did it successfully. Now the problem what i have is that i want to lock the user only if he makes the 3 incorrect entries within 30 minutes.
I created a field named "FirstEntryTime" of type datetime that saves the date of the first incorrect entry. I tried to make an if statement:
if (@timesOfEntry <=2 AND DATEDIFF(MINUTE, firstEntryTime,GETDATE()) <= 30)

Aug 7, 2015I have a requirement to use DateDiff(Months,DateTime1,DateTime2) and this must return positive integer values.
Currently negative numbers are being returned because DateTime1 < DateTime2 or DateTime1 > DateTime2 .
The DateTime1 and DateTime2 values are dynamic and either of them can be bigger than the other.
Any query solution so that always positive value is returned.

I have a very little knowlegde in Cubes and analysis services. I need to perform this distinct sum by using calculated members using MDX on SQL server 2000.

Calculate Value Based On Other Values For Use In SRS Report

I am trying to create a report in SRS that will calculate a Composite Score based on the Sum of other scores and then that Sum is divided by 12.
Here is a copy of the Query I have created to calculate the numbers I want to use, but when I create the expression in SRS the calculations don't come out correctly. The expression that I use in SRS is at the bottom of the Script.

Jan 17, 2007I am building a customerlist within the customer sales of a period. I have a dataset with two tables: "customer" and "customer_ledger_entry".
In the report I will present the customer number, the customer name and the sales. The problem is the sales value is not available as a field, but I have to calculate this value from the "customer_ledger_entry" table. In this table are several entries (invoices, credit notes, etc.)

Now I need to multiply the [FinanceValue Variance] * 2.50 and for that how can I use the alias name as column in the query. I tried this but it says invalid column name.

Calculate The Growth Percentage Or Previous Dates Values
Feb 7, 2008This code displays dates, File name, and File size for four seperate dates 11/20/2007 , 11/30/2007, 12/30/2007 and 01/31/2007 . I'm trying to show the percentage growth from date to date (ie 11/20/2007 -11/30/2007 percentage growth)
is there a way i can get the previous date file size for each entry, so i can have a variable for the calculation. Or i can get the calculate it within this code (ie database_size_mb / ((database_size_md ) where database_size_datetime -1) *100
or whatever the formula is for percentage growth.

This process involves 3 tables.
Contract table has tuition information which is all $100 (set price).
Discount table has discount type and discount percentage (ex. 0.3) on each discount type.
ContractDiscount table have contract number and discount number to connect both tables
I think I need to create a loop since some contract gets more than one discount.
I have to calculate and get result nee to be like this
total_tuition = (tuition - discountPer * tuition) - this has to be a loop condition
Do you have any suggestion ?

Nov 25, 2014SQL query to calculate the total on-peak and off-values for a month as well as the Max/highest on-peak/offPeak hourly value for that month.
On a daily basis i store the hourly values of the meter in a SQL table.
On-Peak
Summer: Apr-Oct hours(7-22) on weekdays (M-F)
Winter: Nov-Mar hours(8-23) on weekdays (M-F)
off-Peak
Summer: Apr-Oct hours(0-6,23,24); Weekends (Saturday & sunday) ; all public holidays during those months as to be considered as off peak
Winter: Nov-Mar hours(0-7,24);Weekends (Saturday & sunday); all public holidays during those months as to be considered as off peak

Create WHERE Statement That Will Calculate Values From Current Fiscal Year To Last Complete Month
Feb 3, 2015I'm trying to create a WHERE statement that will calculate values from our current fiscal year to the last complete month.I'm using code that was created for us that does the calculations for our entire fiscal years. I thought I had fixed the WHERE statement to work like we wanted last year, but it appears to be broken now after trying it again in January and February. I'm guessing my WHERE statement only works for March and up, but how to get it to work for every month. Most attempts I'm trying it's just returning very large and inaccurate values.
I included my WHERE statement below of what I originally had that worked last year. The @BeginYear/Month/etc are retrieved from a different table and @Month is just set to MONTH(GETDATE())-1.

My string is:
SELECT weight FROM progress WHERE dateInput = (SELECT MAX(dateInput) FROM progress) AND memberID = 1
The problem is that the MAX dateInput doesn't belongs to memberID 1. It belongs to memberID 2. What I want is that I wanna choose the MAX Date of memberID 1. I thought of maybe using datadiff function. But I don't know how to make the datediff statement. Maybe I can write the datediff statement whereby the least datediff between the dateInput and getdate() will be the row I want. I really appreciate the person that helps me this problem... Apr 15, 2004I am trying to select records from whatever the current date would be and 12 months before whatever the current date is. How would I go about doing this. The table that I am trying to do this with has a year column and a month column.
I was playing with the date diff function, but I can only get dates from the specified date range. I need it to be where if I run it tomorrow, it will get that day and everything within the last 12 months.

Apr 25, 2008I need to get a listing of all persons who are atleast 18 years of age. A date of birth field in the database is in this format:
4/25/2008 12:00:00 AM
My solution would be where the difference between the current date and the dob is >= 18.
I tried...
select * from table where datediff(yy,dob,getdate)) >= 18.
But this only seems to subtract the years and ignore the days/months, which I need. Could anyone provide the syntax I need?

but i was just wondering if there some other function i should use that would be more appropriate

be parameterised. What datatype do i declare it as. i declare it as varchar
it returns me an error : Invalid parameter 1 specified for datediff.
i'm doing this in a stored procedure.
Is there a way out or do i've to use the good old 'IF' or 'Case' ?

The result is 1320 minutes. (22 hours)... But, the result that I want is 120 minutes (2 hours)....
Can anybody help ???
