I'm trying to schedule a data-driven report subscription on our production server. The scheduled subscription works fine on my development environment, but on the server the job fails with the message "'EXECUTE AS LOGIN' failed for the requested login 'NT AUTHORITYNETWORK SERVICE'". It looks like a security issue, does anyone have any info on how to get this working? The job appears under SQL Server Agent -> Jobs and is created by the Reports Manager when I create the subscription.
At the Moment we use SQL Server 2008 R2 Std. with Reporting Services. I want to change the individual schedules (non-shared) for 170 subscriptions without using the web Interface.
I tried to change table entries for dbo.Schedule and dbo.Subscriptions but the reports did not run. I also know that here are Jobs in the SQL Server Agent for the schedules. Now I need to understand how the mechanism works that updates the job entries from database tables. Is there a stored procedure which can be used?
Is there a way to restrict the subscriptions to use Shared Schedule only? We want to make sure that we manage the schedules and they'll only run the subscriptions during the off peak hours.
I wrote a number of SQL scripts to do a data migration, from MSSQL 2000 to 2008 R2. These scripts should be run each night. All error message should be captured, though execution may continue, so we have an overview of all errors in the morning. We know when one failing script will cause others scripts to fail, so that's not a real problem.
Multiple related SQL scripts are grouped in a file for ease of development. There a are multiple files, and their number is still growing.
How can I automate this? Can I leave multiple SQL scripts in one file, or do I have to limit the number of scripts per file to one?
I am thinking of using a scheduled job, but I have never created one and I don't know how to handle the error messages.
There are 2 sql servers : A and C. I have to grab data on server A and update records with this data on server C. It has to run every night, so it has to be scheduled as a job. I created linked server on server A and ran query select... It works. I can create Update query. What are my steps next? I read how to create a job, but not understand how to incorporate the query into it. I am totaly unexpirenced user, please explain step by step or give me a link to a good explanation. I also do not understand how and whether DTS should be used in all this. Appreciate any help.
I am setting up a role to allow certain users to create and maintain Shared Schedules in SSRS 2005. The tasks I have authorized are: View reports View folders Manage all subscriptions View data sources Consume reports
What else do I need to grant? Right now the user cannot see the Site Settings link in order to get the the manage schedules.
It used to work, but I noticed that my existing email subscriptions stopped working around November...I only have a few...no one complained until now. We also just finished migrating to Exchagne 2k7. I changed the smtp settings in SSRS and the existing subscriptions seem to be mailing again.(one came today to a user who commented on it)(The email subscription issue is probably a totally separate issue related to major config changes in our mail routing etc.)
However, I cannot create any new subscriptions without getting an error. I'm not sure when it started(maybe after SP2?)...a user complained that they could run reports but couldn't generate a PDF for a long running report >15 mins at least and I started investigating the issue.
I looked on some lists and did notice that the SSRS account was not a in the MASTER and MSDB RSExecRole. The role existed in both dbs, but the account wasn't added...not sure if it ever was or if something changed...it is added now. I've restarted the server, etc.
The log entries include(what's kind of weird is that the security log is clean, using windows auth only on sql server, audit failed logins, but tracing the errors below says something about an access denied on 'xp_sqlagent_notify'

Hi, I have a report that I would like to send out to users automatically every day at 10AM. For some reason on reporting server under the report I would to email, I see 3 folders...Data Source, History & Subscription but I am not able to click on "New Subscription" option in order to create new subscription.
First I created "Shared Schedule" specifing day, time etc information. And then I am tring to create Subscription but the option is disabled.
Is there any service pack I am missing or I am following the wrong procedure.
Is there a way to create a Batch file that will run an Update Statement and schedule it to run?I've used bcp to extract data to a txt file before, but i'm not sure if an Update can be performed.I'm using SQL Server 2008 R2 Express Edition so i don't have Server Agent available.
hi, i would like to create a DTS package to retrieve records from database , this records i retrieve is from the error log table ( ERROR_LOG_TB),the scheduler will run at 9 am daily and will retrieve the records if there is a error and the error information will be capsulate and sent through email. Can i know how to know how to graphically do in DTS ? i am running SQL Server 2000.
I am curious if you can create a subscription for a report that resides on reports manager with a dynamic date? We have a couple of reports on reports manager that require a date value and I tried to use getdate() for the value but it will not except it. Is there a way to have a subscription do something like this so the end user doesn't have to change the date parameter each time? Thanks in advance.
When creating a subscription, if there is an error detected at the end - it creates the subscription but might not create the sql agent job, and it doesn't give you a chance to correct the error.
I'm using SQL Server 2005 Developer Edition, which I understand supports Data-driven subscriptions (DDS).
When I try and click on on the DDS button for a report I get the following message:
"Data-driven subscriptions cannot be created because the credentials used to run the report are not stored, the report is using user-defined parameter values, or if a linked report, the link is no longer valid."
1. I have set the data source to use stored credentials.
In SQL Server Management Studio, in Object Explorer, expand the (local) computer node.
Right-click the Replication folder, and then choose Configure Web Synchronization
There is no option when Right-clicking the Replication folder under my local server, however there IS an option for Configuring Web Synchronization on the Replication folder under SQL Server Mobile. (Unfortunately the Configure the publication for Web Synchronization is listed BEFORE the SQLServer Mobile Task, so it is pretty confusing) So, assuming this is what the author meant, I successfully configured the Web Server and the SQLMobile shows under my default web site.
When I attempt to create a Subscription under SQLServer Mobile, I get the following error:
Am I missing something? Should the web configuration be done on my local SQL Server, not the SQLServer Mobile replication directory? If so, how come I do not have that option as suggested in the directions?
I have checked and rechecked permissions. As I mentioned, the snapshot is successfully created (verified by Right-clicking the publication and viewing the snapshot agent status)
I am running SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services. I created a subscription delivered by "Report Server File Share" and the UNC path points to a share on a Netware server. I get the following error when the schedule runs:
Failure writing file Completed.pdf : The network path was not found
The UNC path is \rmh5vol1deptimsoperhiscommon.
I can create the same subscription, but have it write to a Windows file share and everything works fine.
Does SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services support writing to a Netware share?
I deployed a report I created to Reporting Services using Management Studio. From here I could create subscriptions, if I choose. I created a linked report in a different folder from the original report. I defined all the parameters for this linked report. I cannot create subscriptions for the linked report - the context menu items are grayed out.
Anyone know why this might be happening and what I can do to correct it?
It seems to me that if a scheduled SSRS report subscription fails ( Status Message - An error has occurred during report processing) , that I actually need to delete the subscription and reconfigure it from scratch. The scheduled job doesn't try to run again automatically (say the next Monday on a weekly Monday schedule).
Is there a way to "reset" a failed subscription without have to recreate the entire subscription?
Existing subscription already contains table included in the new subscription.
What are the possible causes of this merge replication error? Could it be caused by a SQL Server Compact Edition User trying to sync their .sdf file after their subscription has already expired on the SQL Server?
Would you expect to see a different message if a SQL Server Compact Edition user tried to sync a subscriber database (.sdf file) with merge replication if it's been longer than the subscription retention period since their last sync?
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa177009(SQL.80).aspx i need to schedule asp code execution using SQL Stored Procedure ...im not allowed to connect using Enterprise Manager is it possible in ASP and in case how?
Hi all, I want to make a job schedular in SQLServer 2005. That is i want to send email to users daily at 12:00 PM. how can i schedule using SQLServer Agent in SQLServer 2005. And i want to filter the users from user table. Please help me Thanks!
I have lots of DTS Packages that I am running manually daily and I am trying to create schedule all of those and all of them are failing. Some of those are accross domians, but the owner on both domains have same userId and password.
Any Idea why this is failing would be really helpful
I would like to import data via DTS from one db to another to run every half hour. What would be the easier way to do this?Should I setup a job to run every half hour?
If anyone could help with some suggestions , it would be appreciated.
When I try to schedule a DTS package which is an EXE it doesn't run. If I just run the DTS package it works fine. I have checked the permissions of the DTS scheduled package and made sure it had proper rights. SQL Server Services were started with the proper security rights. When I schedule the DTS package, it is being done on the Server, and not a workstation. Any ideas on why it will not run?...
Also, How do you schedule and EXE under SQL Server Agent Jobs. Even when I schedule an EXE that is not a DTS package it doesn't run...
