I copied and pasted the path on the URL and it worked. What did I miss in the code? Why strHistoryID is required as it is nothing? Please refer to http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/microsoft.wssux.reportingserviceswebservice.rsexecutionservice2005.reportexecutionservice.render.aspx

I'm trying to use the message queue task in SSIS 2005 and not getting very far. Right off the bat I'm trying to create a Message Queue Connection Manager and when I enter the path, trying both "seawxxxx estq" (my local computer name) or ". estq" and test it, it comes back with "invalid path". Have done quite a bit of searching around and can't find anything on this particular error.
I am trying to run a query on my sql server and get the following error message: Â "An error occurred while executing batch. Error message is: The directory name is invalid." Â how do I fix?
I am having difficulty restoring a database (DB_1) with 2 datafiles and one log file, DB Structure is as following:
Filegroup PRIMARY with file name 'fnm_data' with physical file name and location D:dbfile_1.mdf, Filegroup 'FG1' with file name 'fgnm1_data1' with physical file name and location F:dbfile_FG1.mdf, One log file with file name 'fnm_log' with physical file name and location (E:loglog_db.ldf)
{Note} Logfile resides on E drive whereas Datafiles reside on several other drives.
I need to restore the DB on another machine. And I need to move the log file to a drive other than E.In this case it is K drive. Hence I have used the following code,
restore log DB_1 from disk='M:kupccciclog.txt'
WITH RESTRICTED_USER , MOVE 'fnm_log'
TO 'K:DBlog_db.ldf', recovery, replace,RESTART
go
When I try to restore from backup files, I keep error message saying "Physical file name E:loglog_db.ldf may be incorrect." 'fnm_log' cannot be restored. Use Move command to identify a valid location for the file.
Even though I am using Move command to move the log file.
Then I found that if I create a drive with E: and a folder named 'log' then restore program runs alright. That is, when E:log exists then code does run smoothly. All the restore code is looking for the presence of path of the log file from where it is been backed up. In this case it is E:log folder. Once the database is restored I could kill that directory and nothing happens. Also log file has been restored on K:DB only.
Why the restore code is looking for the initial drive letter and path even though I have used Move command? Is there an issue in my code?
Hi All, I am trying to restore a DB from my production to Standby server..it gives me a mesage "Msg 3105, Level 16, State 1 Data on dump will not fit into current database. Need 6500 Mbyte database."
The production server DB size is 5000MB and I have increased the size of standby DB to 6500MB but still the same message...
I run SB between 2 SQL servers. In profiler on an initiator side I see next error: 'This message could not be delivered because its message timestamp has expired or is invalid'. For the conversation we use best practice, i.e. target closes a conversation. Target side succeed to close conversation, but initiator still stay in DO (disconnect_outbound). What is a reasone for the error? What to do?
I see in profiler this error: "This message could not be delivered because its message timestamp has expired or is invalid" What is a reason for error?
Hallo, I have some problems to handle the poison messages.
Messages are exchanged between 2 databases on the same SQL Server instance. I created a Trigger on the insert , that call the sp that begin the conversation(10 minutes Timeout) and send the message to the target queue.
On the target queue I activated a SP and the main code is:
BEGIN TRANSACTION
WAIT FOR (Receive (1) ..) timeout 5000
IF (@ErrorSave <> 0)
BEGIN
INSERT INTO [TestSender].[dbo].[tblErrorXMLMessages] VALUES ();
END
ELSE
if (@messagetypeName = N'Message')
BEGIN
exec [dbo].[sp_ProcessMessage] @message_body
END
ELSE IF (@messagetypeName = N'EndOfStream')
BEGIN
END CONVERSATION @dialog
END
COMMIT TRANSACTION
My communication has a strange behaviour:
if I type
Begin
insert into TriggerTable values(XMLMessage)
insert into TriggerTable values(XMLMessage)
....
insert into TriggerTable values(XMLMessage)
end
Everything work fine but If I write an insert of 1000 message coming from an another table and I use the
cursor login after I while the transmission stop because the Target queue become inactive. I can see my messages stuck in the Initiator transmission_queue so I think that there is some Poison message that cause 5 rollback and disable the receiver queue.
First I would like to isolate the wrong message and carry on with the insert, my application doesn't have to stop the conversation or return any error, but If I use the Sql server Debugger I'm not able to debug the Target queue's stored procedure.
I suppose that some error happens on the Target queue's stored procedure but how can I first at all find it out?
Maybe it has something to do with the transition wrapped around the RECEIVE command?
I need to find the exact time a message was received in the service broker, the time it finished sending and the time it was received at the destination (which is another service broker queue on a different server). I am trying to figure out what the delay is, with increasing message size.
When installing SQLEXPRESS I am getting this message:
Setup failed because service MSSQL$SQLExpress is disabled for the current hardware profile. Services must be set with the current Hardware Profile logon property enabled.
I have a old report that was pointing to a different database, and i changed the connection string for that report and changed the field names (As per my new stored Procedure). In some places I keep getting this run time error, i have tried looking for all the hidden references to this field and i cannot find any parameter that the old database had. The error messages that i get are as follows:
[rsFieldReference] The Hidden expression for the table €˜tblContactInfo€™ refers to the field €˜PL_Admin_ShowInKit€™. Report item expressions can only refer to fields within the current data set scope or, if inside an aggregate, the specified data set scope.
[rsFieldReference] The Hidden expression for the table €˜tblContactInfo€™ refers to the field €˜PL_FA_ShowInKit€™. Report item expressions can only refer to fields within the current data set scope or, if inside an aggregate, the specified data set scope.
[rsFieldReference] The Hidden expression for the table €˜tblWithdrawals€™ refers to the field €˜PW_Comment€™. Report item expressions can only refer to fields within the current data set scope or, if inside an aggregate, the specified data set scope.
Can Someone please help me out as to how should i get rid of these error messages, they are kinda driving me nuts.
Hi All,I am having an error message when running the program below, the message says " Could not find stored procedure 'dbo.U_Login ". I have tried a inline Sql statement to match if user exists and then redirects to another page but when using a Stored Procedure what I get is the above mentioned error. I'm getting the following message from a VB6 program running ADO...
It will process a job then I get the message.... [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Could not find server 'FLDB1' in syssservers. Execute sp_addlinkedserver to add the server to sysservers...
This started to happen after I moved the db from SS2000 to SS2005...
Our db server and sql server instance on that server are both named 'FLDB1'... Do I need to run the above execute sp_addlinkedserver command on the new 2005 server?
I am having trouble specifying a message body that is valid. I mean for the client to send. If I leave it as null then everything is ok but if I create a memorystream and add a line of text it reports back it did not pass validation. I do not understand this and am not sure what to do. I need to send a message based on a code and text but do not know the format of the body that is allowed. The code I am refering to comes out of HelloWord_CLR because that is what I am formating my sample after. I call it the same way it calls the return message done in ServiceProc. I need to know the message format including body since this does not seem to work. A sample of the call is bellow.
// Create an empty request message
string Msg = "Hello";
MemoryStream body = new MemoryStream(Encoding.ASCII.GetBytes(Msg));
I have an File System Task that copies a file from one directory ot another. When I hard code the target directory (c:dirfile.txt) it works fine. When I change it to a virtual directory (\serverdirfile.txt) I get a security error:
[File System Task] Error: An error occurred with the following error message: "Access to the path '\gracehbtest oS2TMM_Live_Title_000002.xml' is denied.".
I'm trying to use a WMI Event Watcher Task as a directory watcher. I know it is available from Konesans at http://www.sqlis.com/23.aspx but they don't feel obliged to make this open source yet. I definitely appreciate the contribution of the binary to the community.
I'm very interested in understanding how the event handler gets the path of the file that caused the event. I added a Script Task to the Event Handler tab and it fires as expected when I create a new file in the directory. I can retrieve the value of the SourceName which is just the name of my Event Watcher Task. I can't find documentation on an object model that is exposed through SSIS that would reveal the name or path of the file, although it's clear this information is available in direct WMI queries from code or a WSH script.
My only guess is that you need to do a workaround in Script (or a custom module) by querying the directory for the most recent file (or list of files compared to a list of processed files) rather than a synchronous feed of the path directly into the SSIS event handler. Ideally, you'd like to get one event per new file created, although this might not be deterministic with the way the OS fires these events and SSIS responds to them. So at the end of the day, querying the directory for recently created files may be the only reliable way of getting the (list of) new files.
I know that this can take hours and hours to figure out since you really need to understand how WMI interacts with SSIS but I would be indebted if you can shed some light on this for me and the community.
I have a sql compact table that stores a series of directory paths like so: C:F1BackupadministratorCDatakit.zip__--1-07272007124351.F1O C:F1BackupadministratorCDataDeploySMD_FSWsetup.exe__--1-11292007122443.F1O C:F1BackupadministratorCDataDeploySMD_FSWSMD_FSW.application__--1-11292007122443.F1O
Is there a way in sql that I can get just the directory name so the results would look like this: C:F1BackupadministratorCData C:F1BackupadministratorCDataDeploy C:F1BackupadministratorCDataDeploy
Also, is there a way to just get the file names so the results would look like this: kit.zip__--1-07272007124351.F1O setup.exe__--1-11292007122443.F1O SMD_FSW.application__--1-11292007122443.F1O
I've seen some examples with Sql server but they use the reverse function which is not available in sql compact.
When I do RESTORE FILELISTONLY FROM DISK = 'db.bak' I don't want to specify the path to the .bak file. Is there any way to do this? Something like '%CD%db.bak'?! If I for example want to put MSDE, .bak and a script file (cmd) on a CD-r I want to install (and restore) the database from the current directory.
I am adding a file to a filegroup on a remote system, and i don't know the direcotry structure of that machine, how can i provide the path for FILENAME param.
ALTER DATABASE TESTDB ADD FILE (NAME = N'TESTFILE', FILENAME = N'physicalfilepath.ndf') TO FILEGROUP TESTFILEGROUP
Overall goal: Write a Bulk Insert statement using the UNC path of a filetable directory.
Issue: When using the UNC path of the filetable directory in a Bulk Insert Statement, receiving "Operating system error code 50(The request is not supported.)" Looking for confirmation as to whether this is truly not supported.

Hi, I have inherited a database that has a table called "Resources" that contains a field called "FilePath". FilePath is a VarChar(100) and contains the server path and filename of an XML file on the server hard disk. I need to join the data in the XML with rows in the "Resources" table (and other tables). Is it possible to get a Stored Procedure to load the XML file into a temporary table? Is loading it into a table the best way to do it - or can I join directly to the XML file somehow? What is the best approach? (I know nothing about XML in SQL Server yet) Thanks in advance, Chiz.
There was a 2008 SSRS service running on server "abc".
I have a .Net UI that uses the wsdl at [URL] ....
They deployed SSRS 2012 service on a new server "xyz".
DNS points abc to xyz. Nslookup looks right shows both xyz and abc alias to the same IP.
when I try to go to [URL] .... it redirects to xyz as expected for the host name but the HTTP GET /ReportServer is appended with GET /Reports/ReportServer which doesn't exist and I get an 404 error.
I have no admin rights to see anything and I have no idea if it was an inplace upgrade or a new server. I assume it's new since the actual server name changed in nslookup. Why would it append the default virtual directory when it makes the hop to server "xyz"?
Is there anyway to load all the raw data in one directory into the database? l've several files with same format but different filename in one folder which l do not know their filename before hand. Is SSIS For Each Loop can help me to accomplish the file loading? If so, where can l find the example?
HI All, I have Uzip Files to be loaded From ftp.companyname.com, the zip files get updated everyday thus i have to load the newly added files, the Zip file has got 13 text Files within it, the issue is: 1. how do i load it for the new zip file only, the zip files are shown below, i am trying using FTP Task, but need more info. 2. How do i UnZip it and and take the text files and then load them to sql server 2005, each text file has to be loaded to sql server tables. 3. How do i automate it, i mean every time i run the package (on Job based) it has to look the new file only, see the zip file below to understand what i am saying about.
As you can see the Zip file names are the blues color, they are added at different time, thus what i need is only the current Zip file (i mean i have to Load only the newly added Zip file (recent one)). Thus the SSIS Task has to go to this FTP server and look the newly added zip file. After that i have Unzip it b/se i have 13 text files there, and then Load them to Sql Server 2005.
Please get help on this, the deadline is near by time, if possible try as soon as possible, I would like to say Thank you for every help you do and try. Thanks,
I'm attempting to find a reliable way to determine the file system folder in which the current package is located. (Please note that for this purpose I have no need to support SQL Server deployment, so the fact that there is no current folder in that context is not in scope for this post. )
Anyway, I've added the following code to a Script task in one of my packages:
Code BlockMsgBox(Environment.CurrentDirectory)
When I run the package from DTEXEC I get this the current working folder from which I executed the DTEXEC command line. When I run the package from DTEXECUI I get "C:Projects2005TFSRootSSISCurrentBranchProject", which is the actual folder where the package is located. When I run the package from within Visual Studio (right click, execute package) I get "C:Projects2005TFSRootDocumentationSSIS" which is what is throwing me off. I can't tell where this path is coming from; it is a valid path on my machine, but why it's showing up as the current folder is the mystery. There's no code there and never has been, although I do check in and check out documentation stored in this folder.
I've looked around online but have had no luck in finding any information aboutreliably determining the location of an executing SSIS package. The best I have found is this thread (http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=2202954&SiteID=1) which doesn't address the issue I'm seeing.
In short, I'm looking for a consistently reliable mechanism that will allow an SSIS package to be aware of its location at run time, regardless of the mechanism (DTEXEC, DTEXECUI, BIDS, etc.) through which the package is executed. My hopes aren't all that high, but I figured if I was going to get an answer anywhere it would be here.
We have a hierarchical table of some 2-3k of rows that grows slowly at only 3-5 rows a month, and is never likely to be above 5k, holding file/directory names with an IdParent int value pointing at that items immediate parent or NULL if root
iterative code required to achieve the result I am looking for is best handled in the Application layer, but in this case the design brief is that we must get our results back as a View. Speed of execution and code clarity are secondary 'icing on the cake' issues.
I have tried recursive CTE's and XML FOR solutions but without success, and while I feel the latter is probably the best all rounder the searches I have made and the examples I have read do not seem to solve this particular issue.
Even to find the starting point of the search tree (i.e. the .EXE and the .CSV items) was difficult because the final slash is optional in some of the rows (.e. row 4)
The end result of my view on the above data should return:
Id FilePath 5 C:ProgramFilesExcel.EXE 6 D:DataFilesMyDataList.CSV (note the adding of the missing delimiter between DataFiles and MyDataList)
I'm trying to let certain users execute an SSIS package through an SP in SQL.
I've set up a proxy account for xp_cmdshell that the other users will use to execute dtexec with, but i get this message:
Could not load package "File SystemCODA_Actuals" because of error 0x80070005. Description: Access to the path 'C:Program FilesMicrosoft SQL Server90DTSPackagesCODA_Actuals.dtsx' is denied.
When i log onto the server with the proxy account, i can navigate to that folder and open the package.
When try to execute it from the command shell: dtexec /DTS "File SystemCODA_Actuals" /Decrypt "password" /Reporting E /SET Package.Variables[User::JobId].Value;25'
i get the same message. How come? How do i fix this? I've read somewhere that i should grant read to the package store to that user , how do i do that? Can't find that option in the tools or manuals.
