I am trying to develop a SSIS package which will read the records from the flat file and insert them into a destination table. I have some validations written in script component. I have declared two Read Write variables with package level scope. when i try to assign a value to the variable in the script component and run the package, the package throws me an error "The collection of variables locked for read and write access is not available outside of PostExecute".
What should be done to over come the problem please help me on this regard

To explain it a more better way, I have a sample webpage text here. I should be searching for "FullCountyLoanLimitList" appended by the current year (like FullCountyLoanLimitList2015) and copy the entire file name in the text file and assign it to another variable so that I can download that specific file using WebClient connection.

the program im working on creates the SQL call to read from this view and creates
the following query

but I end up getting the dreaded "Msg 4104, Level 16, State 1, Line 1 The multi-part identifier "AppraisalView_C.AppraisalID_C" could not be bound." error....
I cant change the Query that is called, but i can change the view, what is wrong?

I copied this set of code from a tutorial article that says "@@servername". My Sql Server is SQLEXPRESS, so I put @@.SQLEXPRESS or @@SQLEXPRESS in the code of scBCPcLabResults.sql.
I do not know why I got an error {Must declare the scalar variable "@@"} or {Must declare the scalar variable "@@SQLEXPRESS"}!!!??? Please help and advise me how to solve this problem.

Apr 29, 2008I am trying to send a variable selected by the user and have all of the results that match that selection show in a datagridview. I tried using this query but it gives me not result.

SSIS Packages Not Getting Executed From Client.
Oct 24, 2007I migrated a few stored procedures from SQL 2000 to SQL 2005. When the packages are run from the box where the SSIS and SQL Server (Windows server) is installed it is running fine without any issues. When run from my local machine (client) where I have installed the SQL Server Client, the same package would not execute and gives me some weird error messages. I am a local admin on the box. Is this a issue with SSIS? Do we have to log onto the box (server) and then execute the packages?
Any help is appreciated.

I am a newby to SSIS and it has been around 2 weeks since I have started with SSIS in my project.
Now, I have been able to successfully build the SSIS package for my project need which is to export all the data from excel source file to the destination database tables after certain validations and modifications. So, when I run the package from the Visual Studio, it runs fine, but actually we have to call the SSIS package from the Webpage through ASP.NET. I have used following code, for loading and executing the package on the page load event.

SSIS Packages Executed From .Net 2.0 Still Leak?
May 2, 2007I'm running a large series of not-too-complex SSIS packages locally from within a .Net 2.0 process (a Windows Service). After trolling PerfMon for some time I'm convinced that the unmanaged code invoked by the SSIS API is still leaking. I'm running SQL2005 SP2 (3042) and .Net 2.0.50727.42.
I've read a few other threads that indicated there was a known issue, but they're dated some time ago, so I figure they'd have been addressed by the SQL service pack.

Oct 9, 2007I wrote program which connect to some remote MS SQL Server 2005, create SSIS package and store it to drive. Also it have ability to load SSIS package from drive, connect to server, load the SSIS package to specified server and execute it. Obviously, I used references to SSIS dlls in program. Question is - is SQL2005 necessary to be installed on computer where I execute the program? Since the program works with remote SQL Servers, I think what only some dlls is necessary for the program. Is it so?

I've made SSIS using domain security and after that it has been scheduled by Sql Server Agent. But that job fails and looking into history job I read:
"Executed as user: SRVDESASQL2005SYSTEM. The package execution failed. The step failed."
Mssql Server agent is being used for local system. Is there the problem?
Nevertheles the aforementioned user have sysadmin role.
Does anyone ever faced this kind of issue?

Logging Of SSIS Package Doesnt Work When Executed As A Job
Mar 31, 2006I am having the same problems as those in another post. SSIS package works fine when executed in BIDS and through execute package utility but it doesnt work when executed as a step in a job.
The other problem is that the logging also doesnt work when i try executing it as a job. So I have no clue about what to do without knowing what error it is. When I run the job it simply says the step has failed.
I have tried most of the solutions posted in other websites most of them to do with using proxies with credentials but havent hit a solution. I would love to get any input on what to do.

Dec 3, 2007I have created a SSIS package with a Foreach Loop including a Data Flow Task, which in turn include a Row Count component which pass the row count value to variable with package scope. The variable is used in an Execute SQL Task following the Data Flow Task.
The package executes successfully when executed on its own, but when executed as a child from a parent package (which only include an Execute Package Task) the variable from the Foreach Loop becomes NULL.
There are a lot of other variables in the package receiving values dynamically without any problem, the row count variable however is the only variable in the package that receives a value as part of a Data Flow (and used in following tasks within the Foreach Loop).
Why does the variable become Null? For your information, I am using a variable with package scope and no variables from the parent package are used or passed from the child package to the parent package.
(For your information, we are running the 64 bit version)

They work well in visual studio, but I can't execute them using procedure. Old packages works just fine, but none of the new. Error message is in the end of my story.Visual Studio version is 9.0.30729.1 and SQL Server version is 10.0.4000.0. Is it possible, that these not not updated versions could cause this problem?Package ProtectionLevel is DonSaveSensitive.

Same DTS Fails Executed As Job ,but Run Fine When Executed From DTS Designer
Mar 13, 2002I created DTS a while ago and placed in job to run once a day (it worked fine for 3 months)
2 days ago I changed sa password and now job fails with error (Login failed for user 'sa'.), but it run fine from DTS !!!
1. My DTS created with domain Account DomainSVCSQL2000( sa rights and local admin)
2. SVCSQL service use DomainSVCSQL2000 to run
3. SVCSQL agent use DomainSVCSQL2000 to run
4. DTS use 'osql -E
Where should look for reference to sa ?

Integration Services :: Running A Program Remotely From SSIS
Jun 9, 2015we run std 2008 r2. I'll be putting together a pkg whose last step needs to execute a program that resides on a remote (not same as where pkg runs) computer and that program must run on the remote computer. Return code(s) would be important to the pkg. I see talk about running over http which may or may not be possible with that remote ws 2003 sp2 server.
The pkg will be running on a ws 2008 r2 std sp1 machine.Does the community have any recommendations for running a remote program from ssis?
As I think about it, i'm not a big fan of making a pkg wait for another process synchronously. So I may just want to trigger the remote program and let something I would set up on the remote server tell me daily if the program succeeded. Interestingly this is a rewrite of a pentaho job that does wait for the remote program execution. I suppose installing ssis on that remote server is an option but I think i'd get a lot of resistance going that route. I'll probably be triggering a sql agent to ssis job after that remote program finishes.

Aug 19, 2015I have seen several problems posted where an SSIS package writes a file successfully when executed manually, but fails when executed via SQL Agent job..I have the opposite problem. I'll try to lay it out succinctly: SSIS writes to a file on a shared folder, specified as HostAShare, for example. I created the share and gave full control to Everyone (out of frustration).I'm working from HostA via RDP, connected to the DB on DBHost via SSMS.If I kick off a SQL Agent job that executes the package, it works fine. (SQL job is running under SQL Server Agent Service Account).If I execute the job interactively (logged in to SSMS with Windows Auth), it fails with "Error: Cannot open the datafile "HostASharefilename.ext""We did find that if I RDP directly to the DBHost, I am able to execute manually.Also, if I try executing an xp_command shell command to write a file to the share, it works. (When RDP's into HostA with an SSMS connection to DBHost under my windows domain auth, as above.)The problem is the same when I RDP to any remote host.

Aug 5, 2014I have a simple SSIS package that reads a flat file and copies it into a SQL Server table.
When the flat fiel is on the C drive I have no problem runnign this package from SQL Server Agent, but as soon as I update the path to a network location the package only works when I run it manually, but fails when is executed via the SQL Server agent job.
The error says "cannot open the datafile", while the datafile location is valid.
Is this a kind of limitation of a SQL Server Agent that only local files are allowed to be processed?

will it work . I mean i cannot use testVar in both read & write

Is It Possible To Read Flat File Data From A Variable?

I'm relatively new to SSIS and I've been tinkering with the XML and Flat File sources.
I noticed that in the XML source it is possible to tell SSIS to read the XML data from a variable. I didn't see a similar option for the Flat File source.
Does anyone know if it is possible to read flat file data from a variable when using the Flat File source?

Sep 17, 2007I've been getting the error below inconsistently when kicking SSIS packages off from a custom windows service. This same service works fine on our development and integration servers but not on our production servers. When I run the packages manually, it works great. Can someone provide any insight as to what is going on?
Error:
The variable "System::LocaleID" is already on the read list. A variable may only be added once to either the read lock list or the write lock list.
I have tired the soultions found in http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=211081&SiteID=1 and applied the hotfix http://support.microsoft.com/kb/918091
I'm running SQL Server 2005 on Windows Server 2003 R2 SP2.

SSIS Script Task Alters Package Variable, But Variable Does Not Change.
Oct 25, 2006I'm working on an SSIS package that uses a vb.net script to grab some XML from a webservice (I'd explain why I'm not using a web service task here, but I'd just get angry), and I wish to then assign the XML string to a package variable which then gets sent along to a DataFlow Task that contains an XML Source that points at said variable. when I copy the XML string into the variable value in the script, if do a quickwatch on the variable (as in Dts.Variable("MyXML").value) it looks as though the new value has been copied to the variable, but when I step out of that task and look at the package explorer the variable is its original value.
I think the problem is that the dataflow XML source has a lock on the variable and so the script task isn't affecting it. Does anyone have any experience with this kind of problem, or know a workaround?
Passing A SSIS Global Variable To A Declared Variable In A Query In SQL Task
Mar 6, 2008I have a SQL Task that updates running totals on a record inserted using a Data Flow Task. The package runs without error, but the actual row does not calculate the running totals. I suspect that the inserted record is not committed until the package completes and the SQL Task is seeing the previous record as the current. Here is the code in the SQL Task:

I've not been successful in passing a SSIS global variable to a declared parameter, but is it possible to do this:

SET @PV = @DV - 1;
I have almost 50 references to these parameters in the query so a substitution would be helpful.
