Is it possible to import an SAS PMML 2.1 compliant neural network model directly into SSAS 2005?
Are there other or all SSAS models (e.g. Decision Trees) that can be created from an imported SAS PMML 2.1 compliant source?

I have a question here for report model generated on top of SSAS 2005. If security has been defined in SSAS 2005 cube where RoleA only have access to certain dimension, is this security setting integrated with the report model and propogate down to the report builder when used where RoleA users have no access to dimension allowed?

I am thinking of a possible design where the cube will never go offline.
Usually when I do some code changes on my cube the cube goes offline and I need to Full Process it again to get it back .
However , in cases where the cube is extremely critical for the business users , it would be great if I can deliver a solution where the cube never goes down.
I've been doing research on the web trying to find if it's possible to create a Report Model that is based on a Data Source that is NOT SQL Server and NOT SSAS.
Specifically I'd like to be able to build a Report Model on a Web Server (or multiple web services).
Does anyone have any information relating to this? Based on my research it looks like there's a few interfaces that need to be implemented (such as ISemanticModelGenerator, etc.).
I did find a post relating to using ODBC data sources for a Report Model and the recommended solution was Linked Tables in SQL Server or UDM in SSAS. Both cases don't look feasible for a Web Service-based Data Source.

I have built two perspectives in a cube. Let's say: Sales and Projects. When I open my cube in Excel 2007 and I choose to open the perspective 'Sales' I see all sales related dimensions and attributes. When I open the perspective Projects I see all projects related dimensions and attributes.
So far so good...
But now I generated a report model from the cube. When I start reportbuilder I can choose between three perspectives, because the total cube is added as an perspective as well. Looks pretty good, and now I open the sales perspective, but...
I see al the entities in the model, even the ones from the 'projects' perspective! It doesn't have all the functionality though, but it is visible with all the entritbutes.
I hope somebody knows the solution to this problem. Thanks in advance.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI get the following error while processing a SSAS tabular model (2014) on a new server.The SSAS service on this server is running under a login which has access to the SQL server data sources. I tried changing the provider to OLEDB from SQLCLNI11 in the connection string but that doesn't work too. The error message isn't useful to debug further.
The cube processing succeeds on a different server. I scripted out the cube DB and ran it on the new server and am trying to process full but it fails with the following error.
Error Message:
The operation failed because the source database does not exist, the source table does not exist, or because you do not have access to the data source.

I am trying to learn building SSAS tabular model. While following a tutorial I need to add a column to an existing table but for some reason the ADD Column option (insert column in other menu is also not appearing) is greyed out.

I am receiving the following error when I run the report builder query. I am able to successfully select the dimensions and measures that I am intrested in but when I run the report I get the error message.
The 'PerspectiveID' custom property for the 'query' perspective is either not set or is not set to the string data type.

I am testing this against both Adventureworks standard and enterprise cubes. Additionality I saw a post in this forum

I am having a question on the PMML for data mining. As we know PMML enables the deployment of data mining models over all the major data mining vendors' data mining platform. I want to make sure what features of data mining models are exchanged actually? Are only the contents of the mining models? Or all the relative features (from data source, data source view, atrtibutes etc. ) ? And can we reprocess the data mining models from the destination platform where the mining models are deployed different from where they are created?

Hi everybody.
I'm looking to upgrade to SQL Server 2005 (Standard Edition). I'm interested in using SSIS, SSRS and SSAS. I hear that BIDS runs inside of Visual Studio 2005, and comes with the SQL 2005 software. I currently have VS 2003. My question is: Do I need to purchase anything besides SQL Server 2005 Standard, or do I need to buy anything separately, like VS 2005? (if so, which version would you recommend?)

This node shoud contain all cases, whose color is red or green (The Microsoft DecisionTree-Algorithm would build a model with two steps like red/ not red and then green / not green). According to the DMG, this is valid PMML 2.1, but when trying to import the server complains about an unexpected value in the SimplePredicate-tag.
How can i import such a node in SqlServer 2005?

When processing my very large cube, after 6 hours, the service dies and the ASCMD returns an error saying it can't find the server / service. The rest of the server is fine and I just have to restart the Service. But the ASCMD keeps killing the service. Can anyone offer some ideas of when I should be looking?

Hi, I'm building a SSAS Integration project, it consist of extracting data from a Microsoft Access 2003 database and consolidate data into a SQL Server 2005 database for datawarehousing.
I need to make several operations for integration, but i'm struck in the following:
- I added an Ole DB Origin that connects to my access database
- I made an sql query with multiple joins that extract all data i need for first instance.
- in data i extracted, i got one column named: FECHA (and many other colums), it contains data of the date of the actual sale; but in previous steps i fill a table named DimTiempo from my sql server database that contanins all the dates (with no repeating) of the sales and added an unique primary key for them; so, now i need to get that primary key for each column FECHA i gotted in my sql query in OLEDB ORIGIN, for example:
I have: 20/20/2004 (column FECHA on my OLEDB ORIGIN gotted with an sql query with multiple joins)
I need: 001 (extracted from DimTiempo, its the primary key of the registry 001 - 20/20/2004)
I need that code or primary key to insert into my new table on my sql server database because its related directly with my DimTiempo table filled previously.
For more directions, i don't have that primary key column on the original access data base; i reestructure completely the database on sql server to make the datawarehouse work fine.
Please, i hope you help me, tell me what do i need to do to get all the data to fill my sql server 2005 database.

I am trying to refresh a cube that i created by using a new script command but i get the following error "the script contains the statement, which is not allowed." On the microsoft page i've read that for refreshing you need to create a new script. Is there another way for refreshing the cube?

I'm sure what I am trying to do is very simple - but I just can't seem to figure it out. I have a report based on a SSAS cube (SQL 2005). The report shows sales based on the dates the user selects from the parameter field (the date parameter field comes from a Y-Q-M-D hierarchy). This all works fine.
What I would like to happen is for the members within the last 3 months to be automatically selected so that the report automatically executes for the last 3 months.
Can anyone help or offer any advice. If possible I would like to achieve this using the GUI features so that power users can use the "plug and pray interface".
