Can We Drill Down Reports In A Another Different Pages With Different Layouts?
Apr 16, 2007
Hi, all experts here,
Thank you for your kind attention.
I am wondering if we can drill down reports in a different page with different layouts and columns? e.g. I have too many columns desired to see in a report, so I want to direct the users to another page with different layouts and columns, so the first view in the report wont display so many columns in a page. Is it possible to make it in SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services? And if it is possible then how? Hope my question is clear for your help.
Thanks a lot in advance and I am looking forward to hearing from you.
Is it possible to say for example have the first page that contains a chart in portrait layout and the rest of the report that is a table in landscape layout?
is it possible make drill down reports in crystal my requirement is like i have n rows in my report if am clicking the first column in first row it will list details of that row in between first and second row Same for all the rows
Hi All, Am new to Reporting Services. I need to create some drill down reports. Am unable to find any guidance or tutorials. Anyone please help me to create drill down reports
Hi all, Am new to SQL Server Reporting services. I need to create some Drill down reports. Am unable to find any guidance or tutorials for that. Please help me to create variety of drill down reports.
How do I drill through to a report from a report that's in a different directory? In the designer I can only drill through to reports that are in that project. I'm sure that there is a simple solution (hopefully!).
I've been able to insert a graph in my reports which automatically allow drill down (into the graph). This has stopped working on new reports and I can't see why, or how to allow drill down (in graphs) again. Anyone help? I'm using Crystal Developer Ver9.2. Thanks

The weird is that i only have this error when i view this report in ReportViewer in a .aspx page. When i try to enter in this report directly by using the ReportServer ( http://server/Reports ) i dont have this error.
In the sharepoint site from the main report when i go to my drill down report i see no back button, Is there a way to provide back button in the toolbar. I dont want to use the page back button. or is there any way by which if i click for my drill down report the report will be opened in a new window?
I have a data set which has more than one record. Iam tyring to create a report without using the wizard. I want the report on multiple pages. I dragged some text boxes on to the design and added the expressions in there. If I run the program now Iam only getting the report with the last record. How do I get the report for all the records in the Dataset on multiple pages ? . I want each record on one page. I am forsure getting more than one record into the Dataset.
I have a requirement wherein I need to create an asp web page(not asp.net), where the user will select the report criteria and using those selected criteria I need to build a report using SQL server 2005 reporting services.
Previously I have used SSRS reported with asp.net application and I am comfortable with creating SSRS report but I am not sure how it will work with ASP pages. Could you please let me know how we pass the report parameters from asp page to SSRS.
Report A contains a textbox that should navigate to Report B using the Jump To option. Report A and Report B are located in separated folders on the Reporting Server.
SSRS looks for the rdl file within the same folder when using the Jump To option. Is there away to navigate to a report located in a different folder on the same server?
I have a drill down report and would like to add interactive sort on two columns:- column 1 & column 2. These two columns should be in descending order. By adding this, when user's click on column 1 they will see the data based on the sorted order. Does anyone help me on this issue.
I have a master report which has three sub reports. I want to show the last sub report on the second page only if data is available otherwise I want to hide the sub report and as well as the second page. I use a expression to hide the subreport and it works. But the problem is with the page breaks. Even though I use a rectangle for page break, it does not work as I want.
Protected Sub ReportViewer1_Drillthrough(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As Microsoft.Reporting.WebForms.DrillthroughEventArgs) Handles ReportViewer1.Drillthrough

When I drill-through the report and hit the (browser) back button and try to drill-trough again I get the following error:
The path of the item "(null)" is not valid. The path must be less than 260 characters long and must start with slash. Other restrictions apply. (rsInvalidItemPath)
When I hit back again and try to export the report to eg. PDF, I get this error: Execution 'mly2yj555oen0o45oowe1e55' cannot be found

Drill through bar charts work great in the report designer preview, but as soon as I deploy the report, and view the report in a webpage, drill through does not work smoothly.
I have to move the mouse around to be able to find a place on the bar to click through to the next report. Sometimes, I am able to click on the bar to go to next report, but then sometimes I have to click on the label, and other times somewhere in the vicinity of the label.
I must confess it has been a long time since I have done any SSRS reporting. I have the following SQL Statement (I will change it to a stored Procedure with parameters once I get the design done):
SELECT rc.wo_id, rc.process_id, rc.item_id, rc.lot_no AS full_lot_no, rc.oper_id, rc.seq_no, CAST(la.attr_value AS DECIMAL(12, 2)) AS weight,
[Code] ....
This gives me the data I want which looks like this:
The grouping is on the Rework ID. Any of the pieces can be put on any rework route. As you can see, there are 4 routes, but 5 pieces. What I need is for each rework ID to be printed on its own paper even if there is only 1 record for the route. So I would expect 4 pieces of paper, 3 with 1 record, the 4th with two pieces. Is there a setting in the Tablix or report that I can set, or is there an expression I can use?
Hello - I am having difficulty enabling the automatic click-through functionality for my model. I have two entities - Customer & Incident. Incident is a role/FK/OptionalMany relationship to customer.
I've read through earlier postings on this subject (below) and have verified that the #Incidents attribute in my incident entity has the EnableDrillThrough=true.
My test report is simple - Customer Name (from customer) and #Incidents (from incident). When I run it, the click-through option is not available (the cursor stays as an arrow and doesn't change to a finger).
Are there other properties or settings that I need to be working with? I have SP2 (9.0.3042) installed on our Standard edition of SQL 2005. I know Infinite Click-Through is not in Std edition, but a few levels should be, correct?
I am using Report Builder 3.0 and i have report which has a drill down group. The report opens in a collapsed form. This report has interactive sorting on a column. But,when we drill down and sort the column, the group collapses and the details disappear.
In some posts, i have seen that instead of interactive sorting, people recommended a parameter. But i have to do interactive sorting only.
I have developed some report in Sql Server Reporting services my Page orientation is portrait that is report height and width are 8.5 and 11 respectively and margins are set to 0.3 in when it is printed the pages are printed more that actually viewed Pages.
After deploying my report on the report Server, I try to access it on the browser which gives me the following error.
The XML page cannot be displayed Cannot view XML input using XSL style sheet. Please correct the error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later.

in microsoft doc there is written on the topic of BP Extensions with SSD's in SQL Server 2014: only clean pages are written to disk... does this mean data pages that have not been modified yet? or also those data pages that have already been modified, and where log has finished writing and the transaction has been marked as commited??
why are there clean data pages being written to L2 cache to make space for other not modified pages? I mean, shoudnt they be modified first, before letting other unmodified data pages into the Cache? I mean they have still to be modified..that makes no sense to me to page them out and page them in again just for other data pages...
Col 9 is char (2) and Col10 is char (34). It is this column that needs to be broken up into several columns depending on the value in Col 9.
Col1 to Col3 is the key to the record.
So say if record 1 has Col 9 value 'AA' then Col10 ( 34 bytes) is to be spilt into 10+10+10+4 (four columns). The value 'AA' can repeat for several records and the value in Col 10 can change for the same value 'AA'.
Now say record 27 has Col 9 value 'BB' then Col 10 is to be split as 5+25+4 (3 columns).
There are 15 such unique values of Col 9. I have the file layouts for Col 10 for each distinct value of Col 9. So using the file layouts and Table A which exists in my database how do I proceed.
Need I make 15 tables ( one each for the 15 unique Col 9 values). These structure Col1..Col2..Col3...Col9 (the key fields and Col 9) will be common to every table. Plus the file layouts will serve as additional columns specific to each of these tables.
We have a flat file format generated from a vendor. It contains a "mainframe" view of the data with a header record, batch header record, detailed records, batch trailer record and trailer record. It arrives as a .dat file. What is the best approach to extract the necessary columns out of this file to populate the corresponding SQL server tables and rows?
I am trying to load a file using SSIS that contains records with two different layouts in one data file but in the flat file connection I can only specify one layout and this is causing the records with the second layout to be loaded incorrectly.
The different record layouts can be identified by the first character of the record. Example: If Field begins with "A" then assign one layout; "B" assign second layout.
Has anybody come accross this issue, if so some guidence would be appreciated.
I have a cube that I created in AS2005, I have a hierarchy and drillthrough action defined. When I create a pivot table in Excel based on that cube and I try to drill down on the cell in the pivot table I can not drill down to the next level. I get an error message: Cannot show or hide detail for this selection. My hierarchy is based on Dimension Facility. Facility State is root level, facility zip is next level. When I'm in AS2005 and browse the cube, I'm able to drill down and drill through and see the hierarchy just fine. (Also, I find interesting that when I create a cube in excel, based on a two relational tables, I'm able to drill down. ) I have the Analsysis Services Add-on installed on my machine, so I have the Cube Analysis Menu item. But I can't seem to even drill-through. So, for now all I want to know is why can't I drill-down (i.e. double clicking on a cell and having the data related "explode" in the spread sheet) like it shows in the article written by William Pearson, titled September 12, 2005 Introduction to MSSQL Server Analysis Services: Reporting Options for Analysis Services Cubes: MS Excel 2003 and More. Any help is greatly appreciated!! Queen
