Cannot Impersonate User For Data Source

Hi all,
I encountered a problem when I tried to generate .rdl report in my PWA website integrated with report server. In the "Manage Data Source", when I set the credential type to "Windows authentication (integrated)", it works.
However, when I changed it to "Stored credentials" with the windows account as the Login, the following error occurs:
An error has occurred during report processing. (rsProcessingAborted)
Cannot impersonate user for data source 'CustomizedDB'. (rsErrorImpersonatingUser)
Logon failed. (rsLogonFailed)
Logon failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070569)
Does anyone know the reason behind? Thanks in advance.
The problem also happens when "Prompt for credentials (use as Windows Credential)" is used.

Hello all,
I have a quick question. The sql reporting server is on server A, and the actual data for the report is on a sql server 2005 called server B. When I am actually developing my report and click preview, everything works perfectly using windows authentication. However, whenever I publish and try to view the report, i get this error:
An error has occurred during report processing.Cannot create a connection to data source 'serverB'.Login failed for user 'NT AUTHORITYANONYMOUS LOGON'.How do I change the login for this datasource while still using windows authentication and not mixed mode?

Hi,
I Created Report using shared data source but when I try to run this report using dynamic connection string parameter I am getting error
I supplied parameter to connection string is
"data source=" & Parameters!Server.Value & ";initial catalog=" & Parameters!Database.Value &";user id="Parameters!LoginID.Value & ";password="Parameters!Password.Value
I also created these parameters like Server, Database, LoginID, Password in report paramenters
but when I try to run this I am getting either of these errors

We have a new installation of sql server 2005 reporting services.
we can deploy reports without a problem users can connect to report server

Hello,
Please can anyone tell me if or how I have to cross reference to a user defined variable from a script task in the SQL of a Data Reader Source?
The script task creates a variable for the last Sales Ledger Session. The SQL in the data reader source that updates the DW sales invoice lines file based upon those invoice lines where the session number is greater than the value from the script task.
The SQL command in the custom properties doesn't cross reference back to the variable.
If anyone can help or needs further detail to help please post a resonse.

I don't want to use "network service" account for app poll identity for asp.net applications because of security reason. But I try to use sqlexpress I receive following error message.
"Failed to generate a user instance of SQL Server due to failure in retrieving the user's local application data path. Please make sure the user has a local user profile on the computer. The connection will be closed."
But when I try to connect master db with same account (test) there is no problem. Then I create to user profile for "test" account but same error occurred.
Does anyone know how I can resolve this? Thanks!

I have set up a new connection as a connection from data source, but I cannot see how to use this connection to create my Data Flow Source. I have tried using an OLE DB connection, but this is painfully slow! The process of loading 10,000 rows takes 14 - 15 minutes. The same process in Access using SQL on a linked table via DSN takes 45 seconds.
Have I missed something in my set up of the OLE DB source / connection? Will a DSN source be faster?

This is my first time to deploy an asp.net2 web site. Everything is working fine on my local computer but when i published the web site on a remote computer i get the error "Failed to generate a user instance of SQL Server due to failure in retrieving the user's local application data path. Hello,
On my SQL Server 2000, I have successfully created a linked server to my Exchange 2000 server (located on the same physical computer). I can't send request and everything is fine.
But now, I would like to apply the "Impersonate" setting. The big problem I've got is that Exchange doesn't use a login and password for the authentification but use the Windows credentials.
I have try things like :
login : <domain name><username> with the real password
login : <username>@<internet domain name> with the real password
but that doesn't work.
I would like to know if there is a way to "impersonate" user log on the SQL Server when they try to use the linked server to Exchange Server.

I am calling SqlContext.WindowsIdentity.Impersonate() within a CLR Stored Procedure and getting the following error:
System.InvalidOperationException: Data access is not allowed in this context. Either the context is a function or method not marked with DataAccessKind.Read or SystemDataAccessKind.Read, is a callback to obtain data from FillRow method of a Table Valued Function, or is a UDT validation method.
The CLR Routine does not do any kind of data accees (as far as SQL is concerned).

Today I was making a few reports.
When I tested the reports in Visual Studio, they worked great: I got the expected result.
But when I deployed the reports to our reportserver the problem started.
When I click on the directory in which my reports are deployed, I got my 4 reports.
Till now everything worked correct.
But when I click on a report to view the results it went wrong.
I got an error:
"Cannot create a connection to data source 'Live'"
(Live is the name of our data source).
We are using the Windows Logons and I am sure that I have all the rights on the server, I gave myself 'sysadmin' rights, so it should work.
I also have tried it with all the roles assigned on my account, but then it still won't work.
When I modify the data source, and set it to another server en database it works.
The datasource 'Live' exists on a x64 MsSQL server, en the other datasource is on a x86 MsSQL server.
Maybe that is the problem?
Can someone tell me what is wrong?

I was trying to load data using SSIS, Data Flow Task, OLE DB Source, source was a view to a OLE DB Destination (SQL Server). This view returns 420,591 rows from Query Analyzer in 21 seconds. Row length is 925. When I try to executed the Data Flow Task from SSIS, I had to stop the process after 30 minutes, because only 2,000 rows had been retrieved. I modified the view to retun top 440, 000 and reran. This time all 420, 591 rows were retrieved and written in 22 seconds. Next, I tried to use a TOP 100 Percent. Again, only 2,000 rows were return after 30 minutes. TempDB is on a separate SAN Raid group with 200 gig free, Databases on a separate drive with 200 gig free. Server has 13 gig of memory and no other processes were executing.
The only way I could populate the table was by using an Execute SQL Task and hard code an Insert into table selecting data from the view (35 seconds) from SSIS.
Have anyone else experience this or a similar issue? Anyone have a solutionexplanation?

Does anyone know how I can use a user variable in a sqlcommand in a Datareader source with an ODBC connection as the source?
I am storing a date value in a user variable(Date) I fill with a SQL Task and then want to use the value in the sqlcommand I use in the Datareader Source. It won't let me use the @variablename in the sql command.
Can anyone help with some advice on how I can make this work?

I'm writing a custom source component that reads data from a SharePoint list with dynamic mapping to output columns. It's my first custom component and it's based on several samples and tutorials from Internet
Output columns are not created by the component itself, they must be added by user at design time. The component makes dynamically an association between SharePoint fields and available output columns at run-time (based on an mapping table).
I made a very basic skeleton and I encounter a problem when I add a column to output: it has no datatype and when I try to set one I have an the error Property value is not valid, The component xxxxxx does not allow setting output column datatype properties.

Basically I have had to change pc's so I copied and pasted my ASPNET.MDF and LDF from my old pc to new PC including webpages/apps etc.. created.

Just don't understand what permissions the db should have, does it need to match the SQL Express owner...

Can anyone translate this error for me and give me some tips on what do to.I checked first the user running the sql express service and saw it was the NETWORK SERVICE user. I changed it to be the local system account but that did not make any difference. The application is running just fine on my local computer(Win XP sp2). This one has SQL express April edition though.

Recently i was asked to design and implement an On-line WebSite for a Shop Store.I decided to define some Category for this Shop's Products such as MP3-Players,Mobiles,Televisions,Monitors and so on....and then Assign each product to a certain Category.Something like Amazon.Com , So i designed my Category and Product Table as follow:

After that i noticed that each category has its own Fields and Property and sometimes somecategories have common Fields for example , Price ,Color are two Common Property or Fieldsfor all Categories that i mentioned earlier But , Size is a special property for only[Monitor] or [Television] Categories and isn't useable for [Mice] or [KeyBoard] categories for example. So i Added a table for Keeping each category's Fields as follow:

The "external metadata column "3rd Level" (16609)" needs to be removed from the external metadata column collection. The "external metadata column "2nd Level" (16272)" needs to be removed from the external metadata column collection.
I tried going data flow->excel connection->advanced editor for excel source-> input and output properties and tried to refresh the columns affected.
It seems that somehow the 3 columns are not read in from the source file?
ans alslo fiscal year, fiscal week is not set up up properly in my data destination?
anyone faced such errors before?

I want my XML Data source to be an expression as i will be looping through a directory of xml files.
I don't see the expression property or the connection property??
I tried setting the XMLData property to @[User::filename], but that results in:

I've question about how to handle structural datamodel changes in a datasource of PowerPivot. Suppose I'm developing a starmodel in SQL Server and sometimes a datatype changes or a name of a field changes in a table. It seems to me that PowerPivot handle this not gracefully as Analysis MD does (mostly). I received an error because of a wrong fieldname or even no error when a dattype changes in PowerPivot. Is this common or do I something wrong here. Does this mean that every time the datamodel changes the PowerPivot should be recreated? Or am I missing the clue here?

Was wondering if there was a best practice minimum permissions for creating a SQL login to use when setting up a new shared Data source for SSRS report manager?
Something along the lines of them being a data read for the DB and permissions to update tempdb?
Would have thought it not advisable to have the login be able to update the main db...
