I'm new to ASP.NET (I normally work with Windows Forms) and have installed the Club Website Starter Kit. I created an Administrators role and a user called "admin". When I run the project locally, everything works as it should - I can log in as admin and I can create new users.
I then copied the site to localhost (C:Inetpubwwwroot), but when I run the site from localhost, I can't log in (as admin or any other user); instead I get a message that says, "Your login attempt was not successful. Please try again."
Also, I can't create a new user. When I try, I get the following error:

I figure there must be a simple(?) explanation and solution for this problem, and ideally, some sort of step-by-step procedure that new users to ASP.NET can follow to configure a site - such as one of the starter kits - to work correctly. I can honestly say that trying to get this working has been an extremely frustrating experience.
If someone could help me out, I would really appreciate it. I've been working on this for two days and feeling I have hit the wall.
Thanks in advance.

Hi there,I am getting a real problem with ASP.NET 2.0, all i am trying to do is run a recovert password (using the login controls) and i got the following error.Does anybody know how to fix this? I have tried the SSEUTIL answer here and it didn't work. http://forums.asp.net/909168/ShowPost.aspxI also ensured that Network Services user has READ/WRITE/EXECUTE premissions on the directory below and that each file isn't read only and also that it inherits ACL from the directory which it seems to do..Bit of strange one this, it isn't created (and i am not using) a beta version of VS 2005 Pro... but a full retail version.The PC is the local PC with IIS 5.1 and VS installed... it is the one i am using for developing.. I don't need to copy my files to the IIS directory below as that is where i have created it and open it in VS 2005 from there..I did read that if you use IIS 5.1 then the user should be ASPNET ... but i don't seem to have that use but a Network Services user...Any help or guidance would be really appreciated... i have come to a stop stage and can't get any further..Thanksian

I am building a Windows Forms application in VS 2005, using C# and SQL Server 2005 Express as the backend.
When I try to accessd data from the db, it works with no problems.
When I try to insert/update/delete, I get the following error message
Failed to update database "DBNAME" because the database is read-only.
I am using a connection string with the following syntax:
"Data
Source=.SQLEXPRESS;AttachDbFilename=c:PATH_TO_DBdb.mdf;Database=MyDB;Integrated
Security=False;User Instance=False;User ID=USR;Password=PWD;"
I have made sure that the permissions on the DB are set (in Windows) so
that all users can modify. The user that is logging in to the DB has
status set to DBOWNER.
I have seen others experience the same problem - with ASP.net sites,
not Windows Forms sites (thus most of their solutions dont apply to me)
Any ideas on what is wrong and how I can get this to work?

I want to make data changes in read_only database , that's why i must set database read_write. While database is at read_write mode, i want to be sure that no one makes change in database.
For this aim, i write the code below, but i suspect that after setting the database read_write, till the setting database
single_user ,is it possible get DML script from another user. Is the code below enough for this operation. Or is there another way?
Reminding: Read_only database can not be set single_user mode. That's why, first you must set database read_write.
The code;
use master
alter database xxx set read_write
with rollback immediate
alter database xxx set single_user
with rollback immediate
use xxx
update tablexxx set columnxxx=yyy
use master
alter database xxx set read_only
with rollback immediate
alter database xxx set multi_user
with rollback immediate

I need a solution (script) where I can pull all objects(DB's incudes tables, views, synonyms, stored procedures, primary key, foreign key, triggers etc) definitions from the server in a dependency order. I want to generate a script from these objects, where if I run script all objects should be created the way it is..
.All dependencies should be automatically available in script in a dependency order. Â What is the best way to bring all objects (definition) in form of scripts.
These are the fields am looking - databsename, schemaname, objectname, typeofobject, depenedencyorder (nothing but level)...

i have a database which get refreshed every day from client's data . and we need to pull heavy data from them every day as reports . so only selects happens on that database.
we do daily population of some table in some other databases from this daily refreshed DB.
will read uncommitted or NOLOCK with select queries to retrieve data faster.
there will be no dirty read as there are NO DML operation in that database so for SELECT which happens concurrently on these tables , will NOLOCK work?

Hello,
I am trying to read in from a csv file which works like this:
DECLARE @doesExist INT
DECLARE @fileName VARCHAR(200)
SET @fileName = 'c:file.csv'
SET NOCOUNT ON
EXEC xp_fileexist "' + @fileName + '", @doesExist OUTPUT
SET NOCOUNT OFF
IF @doesExist = 1
BEGIN
BULK INSERT OrdersBulk
FROM "' + @fileName + '"
WITH
(
FIELDTERMINATOR = ',',
ROWTERMINATOR = ''
)
END
ELSE
print('Error cant find file')
What I want to do is check another table before each line inserts, if the data already exists I want to do an UPDATE.
I think i can do what i need with a cursor but I think the bulk update just pushes all the data up and will not allow me to put in the cursor.
So is there a way i can read the csv in a cursor instead of using the bulk insert so i can examine each row?

I'm new to SQL from Access and trying to run an update in the Query Analyzer. I created the following Select query in the Enterprise Manager and it works fine:
SELECT CVTotalswSalesperson.[Item Number] AS Item, CVTotalswSalesperson.[Sales ID] AS SalesID
FROM dbo.Inventory INNER JOIN
CVTotalswSalesperson ON dbo.Inventory.ItemNumber = CVTotalswSalesperson.[Item Number]
WHERE (dbo.Inventory.PlantID = 4)
I then tried to replace the Select with an Update in the Query Analyzer ...
UPDATE dbo.Inventory
Set SalesPersonID = CVTotalswSalesperson.[Sales ID]
FROM dbo.Inventory INNER JOIN
CVTotalswSalesperson ON dbo.Inventory.ItemNumber = CVTotalswSalesperson.[Item Number]
WHERE (dbo.Inventory.PlantID = 4)
and I get "Invalid object name 'CVTotalswSalesperson'."
What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

I have a stored procedure that updates a table. I also have an UDF that allows dirty reads (nolock).
What's the precedence level in SQL server? If I add xlock,rowlock to the update statement, will the dirty read wait for the update transaction to commit, or will it perform a dirty read regardless of the locking scheme in the update statement?

I built a small package two years ago that uses Flat File Sources to copy in small text data files. Â Each source connection object has a UNC path to flat text files on another server. Â The source system changed, so I opened the package and updated the UNC path in one Connection Manager object, and clicked OK. The Flat File Source Editor that uses this source seemed to be able to see the new location when I clicked "Preview". Â Then I went back to the file source, and the connection had reverted back to the original one. Â it would not save the new UNC path. Â
I am using SQL Server 2012 SP2 with SSDT (run as admin). Â I closed the package in SSDT, edited the connection strings using XMLnotepad, and was then able to open, test, build and deploy the package.
It seems that the Source object will not let itself be changed. Â The other option is to delete it and recreate it, but I didn't want to remap the fields.
Why updating a connection object is not working?

Hello,
I have a SSIS package that has a SQL task which gets a result set and stores it in an SSIS object variable. The package then iterates through that result set in a foreach Loop Container. In the loop container I have a script task and a Send Mail Task. The script task sets the contents of the email message (through an SSIS String variable).
In the dataset I have an EmployeeCode column. I need to select a single EmployeeCode and grab all the records associated with that code to create a single EmailMessage for that Employee that includes all their records. I've got that done, however the way I'm implementing it I then have to update the SSIS Object variable that holds the result set to remove those records I've already processed. Doing this causes an error at the next ForEach loop iteration stating it can't find a source.
Result Set from SQL Query (16 columns, 674 rows, 145 distinct Employeecodes)
Employee Code EmailAddress Other columns
1 email1 set1
1 email1 set2
2 email2 set3
2 emial2 set4
2 email2 set5
etc etc etc
The first iteration should be sent to email1 where the body includes set1 and set2, the second iteration sends to email2 where the body includes set3, set4, and set5 and so forth.
The SSIS ForEachLoop Container is looping through the entire Result Set and passing into the .NET Script task the EmployeeCode (readonly) and the entire Result Set (readwrite) and setting the value of EmailMessage. So I create the value of EmailMessage based on the EmployeeCode and then use the value of Email1 and EmailMessage in the SendMail Task. I was trying to delete the rows I processed so I don€™t process them the next time the ForEachLoop Executes (otherwise I'll get duplicate emails).
Or if there's a different way to do this, I'm open to that as well.
See below for the code I'm using (colEmployeeCode is a ReadOnlyVariable and rsRecipients and EmailMessage are ReadWriteVariables in the Script Task).
Public Sub Main()
Dim Header As String
Dim Body As String
Dim Footer As String
Header = "blah"
Footer = "blah"
Try
Dim olead As New Data.OleDb.OleDbDataAdapter
Dim dt As New Data.DataTable
olead.Fill(dt, Dts.Variables("rsRecipients").Value)
For Each row As Data.DataRow In dt.Rows
If UCase(Trim(row("EmployeeCode").ToString())) = UCase(Trim(Dts.Variables("colEmployeeCode").Value.ToString())) Then
Body = Body + "Label: " + Trim(row("colum").ToString()) + System.Environment.NewLine
row.Delete()
End If
Next
Dts.Variables("rsRecipients").Value = dt
Dts.Variables("EmailMessage").Value = Header + Body + Footer
Dts.TaskResult = Dts.Results.Success
Catch ex As Exception
Dts.TaskResult = Dts.Results.Failure
End Try
End Sub
Thank you very much,
Aaron

Im from Brazil...Im trying to get a RS connecting through 2 databases with the querybelow:SELECTscar..osbalcao.numeroos,ccell.dbo.atrib_os.osFROMccell.dbo.atrib_osJOIN scar.dbo.osbalcao on ccell.dbo.atrib_os.os =scar.dbo.osbalcao.numeroosWHERE scar.dbo.osbalcao.localprod = '257'AND scar.dbo.osbalcao.status in ('EM')On a SQL IDE i got a good RS, but, when i try to use that same query onDelphi + ZEOS, the SQL Server tells me that "The database namecomponent of the object qualifier must be the name of the currentdatabase".I really dont understand why. I can only tell that the error isreturned from SQL Server.Have anyone got the same trouble?[]'sTiago Gigli

Failed to update database "C:INETPUBWWWROOTAPP_DATAASPNETDB.MDF" because the database is read-only.
have tryed to change the attributes, still not working. have given write access to the APP_DATA folder from IIS, still not working.
and i cannot delete the APP_DATA folder from IIS, it says it is being used by another process or program. how to fix this? and or delete the folder?

Hello,
I'm optimizing a database running under SQL 7.0. Have anyone any knowledge wether setting the database to "read only" can enhance performance? The database is used only for reading, one table is updated via DTS on a hourly basis, the rest of the tables on a daily basis.
