I have a report I am creating in sql reporting services 2005 and what I am trying to do is have a single text box with multiple lines of data format each item in the textbox to specific parameters but I have not been able to figure it out. I tried to format my data on the sql side so that it cam out as follows:

Not sure what I did wrong to this code. What I would like this code to produce is, if any number is less than 0 (negative) than it should be red, if it's greater than 0, it should be black. Somehow it comes back red even though it's a positive number.

I have a report that has a toggle item that toggles between showing and hiding report items specifically the detail rows, I am wondering can I also used this toggle item to change the font color of other report items. Exampl is I have a toggle item, EmployeeName that toggles the detail rows of the employee from visible to hidden. Can I also use this toggle to change the text color of other report items or highlighting different items.

I am having a problem trying to do some conditional formatting on the text color.
This textbox is in the Group Footer so i essentially want change the color to red if the SUM of one field in the group is less than the SUM of another field in the same group.
I am doing this:
=Iif(Sum(Fields!YTDChargeHours)< Sum(Fields!YTDForecast), "Red", "Black")
but i am getting this error:
[rsRuntimeErrorInExpression] The Color expression for the textbox €˜YTDChargeHours€™ contains an error: Operation is not valid due to the current state of the object.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a view where I'm using a series of conditions within a CASE statement to determine a numeric shipment status for a given row. In addition, I need to bring back the corresponding status text for that shipment status code.
Previously, I had been duplicating the CASE logic for both columns, like so:

I have run into what appears to be a strange bug (or I am expecting too much) in SQL Reporting Services.
I have a field with a dollar amount. If the dollar amount = 0, then the users want "NA" to display. I have this set-up correctly.
I have now found that if the dollar amount is displayed, they want the text box right aligned, and if the "NA" is displayed, then they want the text box to be center aligned.
I put the following expression in the "TextAlign" property setting...

Now the IIF function is available in my expression window, and so is "Center" and "Right". But when I try to run the report, I get the error that "Center" is not declared.
So maybe this just is not possible in SQL Reporting Services, but I wanted to check before I told the users "no can do".
BTW, I tried "Left", "Right", and "General" in place of "Center" and got the same error.

i was tasked to created an UPDATE statement for 6 tables , i would like to update 4 columns within the 6 tables , they all contains the same column names. the table gets its information from the source table, however the data that is transferd to the 6 tables are sometimes incorrect , i need to write a UPDATE statement that will automatically correct the data. the Update statement should also contact a where clause
the columns are [No] , [Salesperson Code], [Country Code] and [Country Name]

I get incorrect syntax near the keyword 'update'.
According to SQL Server 2005 Books Online, the RetainDays property specifies the number of days that must elapse before a backup set can be overwritten.
I do not quite understand the implication of this property. Say, if I set RetainDays = 1, is it mean the backup set from yesterday MAY BE overwritten? If it is 'may be', how does SQL Server determines whether to overwrite or not? I tried RetainDays = 1 to backup a dummy database, but my test.bak keeps growing, the old files do not seem to be overwritten. Besides, what is the implication of accepting the default RetainDays = 0?

I am putting together an invoice for my company. I have a text box describing each section of the invoice, followed by a table to list out the charges. I am using multiple tables based on what type of charge the client is receiving.Â
I would like to hide each section if there are no items purchased of that type. I can do this with the table using the expression "=CountRows() < 1", but I do not know how to refer to that table (call it Tablix1 for the sake of discussion) for the text box. I've tried using a ReportItems function as my basis, without success.Â

Can we have truncate table with in a transaction using SSIS package.
here is the scenario.
OledbDestinationConnection 's "retainsameconnection" property has been set to true.
I have added a Execute SQL Query task to "begin transaction".
second Execute SQL Query task to truncate a table. say table "A" . truncate table a(table does not exists in the database).
third to rollback a transactions if the second task fails.
Now when I am running my package, I am getting an error saying
The Rollback transaction has no corresponding "Begin transaction".
However if , I truncate a correct table , which exists in database, then all steps gets executed successfully.
And the truncaion also got rollbacked.Same goes with "Commit transaction" in the third steps(if a replace Rollback with Commit).
I don't understand this strange behavior.
Any clue is highly appreciated.
My real problem is I want to rollback a transaction, if Truncate table step fails.

I have the following problem. Presum I have a field called contact_mail. I want to check if the field is empty.
If that is true then i want to get the faxnumber from a field called contact_fax . And then i want to put @faxmaker.com behind it in a new field called faxmail.
Something like this contact_fax:123456 - faxmail:123456@faxmaker.com.
I've made the following case.

But this doesn't work, does anyone got a hint?

I was wondering if there is any way in an sql statement to check whether the data your trying to get out of the DB is of a particular type, ie. Int, char etc. I was thinking about a case statement such as

Yes, No, or NULL. I could like to use a Case statement to determine if there is Null. If so, then output N/A in place of the Null. So then my possible valus are Yes, No, and N/A.

In my query below i have the results ,The thing to observe in the result set it for the name "Acevedo" , "Abeyta" its not doing a group by and populating the results in the following column.Rather its addind a new row and adding it as 1 in the next row.

I am trying to get avg score by site, by call type. Columns are Site(varchar), Calltype(varchar), totalscore(float). Calltypes are A, B, C, D. Sites are 1, 2, 3, 4. I can do a straight average statement and only get one calltype.
I want to do a CASE statement to get all average scores for all calltypes.
