I've selected a domain-based attribute for one of the leaf member attributes in the same entity, aka parent id, since it's a self-referencing entity. However, I cannot find a way to display anything but the code value in the drop-down (see below).
Is there a way to change the display value so that I can choose the attribute from the entity from which I want the user to choose? In other words, I would like to display the hierarchy name instead of the code, which is really just the primary id.
I have a column in the following select startement called displayvalue. Displayvalue is a varchar column. Primary everything entered into this column is numeric, but there are times when NR is entered. In the select query if it sees NR, I would like to have NR changed in the resultset to NULL or blank. NR doesn't come up all of the time, but I have not idea how to do this in the select statment.

Is it possile to definea custom format for the 'display format' property of a measure so that the results are shown in Thousands or Millions or Billions e.g
100,000 can be shown either as 100T OR 1,000,000 can beshown as 10M OR 10,000,000 1B

All of the subscription emails that go out has a "From" display name of "POP3", so when the receipients receive the email, they see "POP3" in the "From" field. I would like to change this so ill-informed users don't delete the emails thinking they're junk/virus email.
Of course if the email software being used by the receipients doesn't support displaying a "From" name, then only the actual email will show and, in that case, it will be perfectly fine.

I have a report parameter named "Schools" which display a list of schools. For example, Alo elementary school, Balo middle school and Calo high school.
When "Alo elementary" is selected the report only display students from that school along with other assessments data fields. same goes for other schools too. But I want to display different data fields for "Calo high school" when it is selected. It is not currently possilbe becasue I am using the same template for all types of schools. There some fields only should be displayed for "Calo high school" but not for any other type of schools.
I can accomplish this by creating two separate report, one for "Calo high school" and the other for other schools. But I want to accomplish this just by creating one report. So when "Alo elementary school" is selected it displays report with certain fields and when "Calo high school" is selected then it displays same fields as "Alo elementary school" but as well as some other fields too in the report. Is this possible? Need help.
I am trying to display hirearchical data using data region. For eg. the first level will be a list of customer names. The second level will be a list of Invoices under each customer. The third level will be a list of product names that were sold under each invoice.
I used a list for the data region and in each hireachy, there is a textbox in each list to display the data. I am trying to associate each data region with a datatable (I will provide the logic to populate the datatable with appropiate data). I do not want the ReportViewer to interact directly with a database because this is a 3 tier design and I am using the ReportViewer in local mode. I couldn't find any example of these. Can anybody help? Also I would like to see an example of the .rdlc file in these situation. Thanks very much.
I have a requirement to implement CDC for 50+ tables to implement incremental data changes warehouse/reporting rather than exporting the whole table data. The largest table is having more than half a billion records.
The warehouse use a daily copy of OLTP db (daily DB refresh). How can I accomplish this. Is there a downside in implementing CDC just for the sake of taking incremental changes on the tables?
Is there any performance impact if we enable CDC on OLTP db?
Can we make use of the CDC tables on the environment we do daily db refresh so that the queries don't hit OLTP database?
What is the best way to implement CDC to take incremental changes for reporting.
I want to make data changes in read_only database , that's why i must set database read_write. While database is at read_write mode, i want to be sure that no one makes change in database.
For this aim, i write the code below, but i suspect that after setting the database read_write, till the setting database single_user ,is it possible get DML script from another user. Is the code below enough for this operation. Or is there another way?
Reminding: Read_only database can not be set single_user mode. That's why, first you must set database read_write.

I am using SQL Server 2012 and to me a part of data captured by CDC is not making sense.
I have a table called 'Schema.Table1', and I enabled CDC on it by running 'sys.sp_cdc_enable_table'. I see that a table called 'cdc.Schema_Table1_CT' got created which now gets an entry when ever I Insert, Update or delete a record in the original table.
Till this point every thing works fine.
My original Table has a NOT NULL INT column called 'AuditTrackerUserID' with a default value of 1996. My application does not provides a value for this column, but because the column itself has a default value, records get inserted without error.
When I try to execute the following Query I see multiple records with __$operation of 3 and 1.
SELECT * from cdc.Schema_Table1_CT where AuditTrackerUserID IS NULL
My expectation is that I should not ever see any record returned by this query because AuditTrackerUserID is a not null column, but I do.

I have data in rows that I need to aggregate and display in a columnar fashion and I haven't been able to figure out how to do it. A simplified version of the data as it is stored in the table:

I am using a filter in a matrix control. I would like to display a "No data" type message if no data is present. The problem I'm running into is the base query is returning data, but the optional filter is removing all rows from display.
So using CountRows in the base dataset doesn't quite cut it. Is there an alternative?
I have a fairly complicated report consisting of numerous datasets and numerous tables.
In one of my tables I want to display the message "No data to display" if nothing comes back from the query. Currrently the table just disappears if there is no data. Is there a way to display the table if there is nothing in the query?

I have the following sqlDataSource. I wan't to display one piece of data, not a whole row, from it. I can find lots of information on putting it into a datagrid, but nothing on puttin one piece in a textbox. I cannot use a formview as we are embedding html in response.write and it breaks in a formview. Thanks.

I have a webform that I am wanting to display data from a database. Right now I am using the gridview but for future purposes when it comes to maintenance what would be the easiest way to do updates? For example, if I add a new record into the database I would like the webform to automatically update itself to show all the records including the new record I added. Do I need to use a "table" and somehow connect it to a database? Do any stored procedures need to be created? Suggestions/ideas/codes help help help would be verrrry much appreciated!!! I have a tabe in my sql server 2005 database which contains a long description and I want to display the first 100 charactors on my web page but not sure how to do this I can only display the whole description.
