View 10 RepliesHi everybody
Is there a way to show HTML tags in a SQL Server Reporting services just like we are used to do in Crystal Reports?
I my case, I use the property Text Interpretation: HTML (right click in parameter field inside report and click edit parameter menu option).
I was wondering if we have something similiar in Reporting services?!
I would like to have an option of selecting the rows in my reports designed using reporting services 2000.
I would like to have a check box inside the table. when the user viewing the report he can select the rows using this checkbox and print only the selected table rows.
can anyone help how to implement this logic in ms reporting services 2000?
Hi, all here,
Would anyone here please guide me how can I check the version of reporting services installed? My problem is in my virtual machine, both SQL Server and SQL Server 2005 are installed, but I can create report in the vistual studio 2005 IDE, but cant deploy it to the reporting server database, in addition, I cant connect to reporting services database in SQL Server 2005 management studio.
Is it possible to install two different versions of reporting services in the same virtual machine? Please anyone here give me some advice for that. Thanks a lot.
With best regards,
Yours sincerely,

We suppose that it should be done for each node. It's an Active-Passive cluster.

Is it possible to use a IIF IsNothing expression and check another condition? For all the values that are blank, I want it to check another column if "Disposition" = 2 then I want to show "Inactive"

I have to display check box against each value coming from the table in SSRS. I have tried using html tags in an expression but it is displaying only for the first field.

View 1 Replies View RelatedOne of my tables in the db contains the websites and the location of their link directory. i.e. domain.com/linkdirectory
I want to run a check against every website's robots.txt file to ensure that it doesn't look like this:
user-agent: *
Disallow: /linkdirectory/
so I need a program that does the following:
For each website in database (start of loop)
Does robots.txt exist on their site ?(run a remote check)
if it does
is their link directory blocked in robots.txt?
if so, then log their user id and website name into an array for later use
end if
endif
end loop
How would I do this in ASP.net 2.0?
I have a database field which consists of a long string of values with some separator.
Ex: Injection^!@$#Medication
in my report i have to split the string as
Injection
Medication
till here i am able to display the results but in addition to that i have to display check box against these values like below
and this string can contain any no of values ex: if we have 4 values are separated within a string then i have to display 4 check boxes against 4 results.
I'm still receiving the emails of some subscriptions of reports that were already deleted, how these subscription could be deleted or turned off.
View 2 Replies View RelatedHi guys help please..is there a function in MS SQL that check if a particular value exist in a row and would return a boolean value base from what found, Return True if it found something and False if it does not found one. I've try the EXISTS function but I cant get the rigth syntax..Any help will be greatly appreciated!
OR Maybe you can help me directly with my problem. I want to check first in my Table 1 with 3 columns if value X exists in column 1 and if X exists UPDATE that column with value Y and if value X does not exists INSERT something in the Table 1. Any suggestion or Comments will be greatly appreciated!
Hi All,
1)My source files[.txt] come from an FTP server.I need to find a way to include within my SSIS package,a task that would watch a certain folder of the FTP Server and send a mail notification as soon as the file arrives.Tried using filewatcher task http://www.sqlis.com/23.aspx, but the task stays "yellow" for a long time while package is being excuted.I dont know if this is what I need to use.Are they any other task/ways?
Another Problem I'm facing is;
2)If the source file coming in the FTP Server is zipped. How do I unzip the file and move it back to the FTP Server folder for the task in 1) to watch on it .Any ideas ?

View 2 Replies View RelatedOkay, I have the following statement for my store procedure:
Code Snippet
IF exists (SELECT [ID], [title], [name], [issueID] FROM [Outlook] WHERE ([issueID] = @OLissueID))
SELECT [ID], [title], [name], [issueID] FROM [Outlook] WHERE ([issueID] = @OLissueID)
ELSE
SELECT null ID, 'No parent page yet' title FROM Outlook
I wanted to put an ELSE IF statement right before the ELSE statement to check if the value is null. Something like this:
IF exists (SELECT [ID], [title], [name], [issueID] FROM [Outlook] WHERE ([issueID] = @OLissueID))
SELECT [ID], [title], [name], [issueID] FROM [Outlook] WHERE ([issueID] = @OLissueID)
ELSE IF (SELECT [ID], [title], [name], [issueID] FROM [Outlook] WHERE ([issueID] = @OLissueID) != null
SELECT [ID], [title], [name], [issueID] FROM [Outlook] WHERE ([issueID] = @OLissueID)
ELSE
SELECT null ID, 'No parent page yet' title FROM Outlook
Or if this is possible, it's much better:
IF exists (SELECT [ID], [title], [name], [issueID] FROM [Outlook] WHERE ([issueID] = @OLissueID) AND (SELECT [ID], [title], [name], [issueID] FROM [Outlook] WHERE ([issueID] = @OLissueID) != null)
SELECT [ID], [title], [name], [issueID] FROM [Outlook] WHERE ([issueID] = @OLissueID)
ELSE
SELECT null ID, 'No parent page yet' title FROM Outlook
I don't quite get how to write the SQL statement that I wanted so any help is much appreciated.
Hi Folks,
I'm attempting to check to see if a file exists on our server before showing a link it.
I put this function in the Report Properties:
Code Block
Function isFile(PathFileName As String) As Boolean
Return isFile = System.IO.FileExists(PathFileName)
End Function
I chose a situation where I'm getting back two rows of data, one row is true and the other row is false however, when I run the report they're both coming back as 'True'.
We created a virtual directory to the file system that houses our files, so my PathFileName variable will contain something like http://Sales/North/Sales110907.pdf.
Can I use the FileExists in this fashion or am I going down the wrong path?
I appreciate any help you can give.
Best regards,
In my report i have CNAME parameter , which allows null value. I checked Allow null value check box in report parameter properties.
when i preview the report , it displays checked NULL check box beside CNAME parameter . I want to give some meaningful name(i.e.ALLCustomers) to this checkbox instead of NULL.
Is it possible through SSRS designer?
i want to check.. Report Server Windows service has Send As permissions on the SMTP server.
how can i do this..
Is there any way to get more information for when IAuthorizationExtension::CheckAccess fails to grant access to a report item for the current user? Specifically, it would be useful to know:
1. URL of attempted report
2. IP address of user agent
3. Identity of current user
4. Date/Time of the failed attempt

Hello,
I have a dynamic query in the stored procedure, and the code looks something like this:
SET @section_test = 'SELECT sectioncode FROM ' + @tablename + ' WHERE sectioncode = "' + @condition + '"'
EXEC (@section_test)
What I need to do is try to check if the query returns any values using EXISTS (possibly), but at the same time I don't want to return the results of that dynamic query's select statement in my stored procedure. Is it possible?
Thanks.

I know how to check for a sinle vlaue but how do I chekc to see if multiple values exist. I need to check for certain email addresses from a list that I have.
Let us say I ahve 3 email addresses, I want to check for all of them in a table and for eevery email address that is present I want to print something like "You email address is XXX" and if one of those 3 is not found my results should look like
"You email address is XXX"
YYYYY not found
"You email address is ZZZZ"
I'm attaching some TSQL that I tried on [AdventureWorks2012].[Person].[EmailAddress]
/****** Select ALL if where an email address is present in the list ******/
SELECT EmailAddressID,EmailAddress
FROM [AdventureWorks2012].[Person].[EmailAddress]
WHERE EmailAddress IN
(
'ken0@adventure-works.com', --1
'terri0@adventure-works.com', --2
[Code] ....
-- Test to see if a single email address is present
IF EXISTS
(
SELECT EmailAddress FROM [AdventureWorks2012].[Person].[EmailAddress]
WHERE EmailAddress IN ('25rob0@adventure-works.com')
)
BEGIN
SELECT 'Email address is presnt'
[Code] ....
When I check multiples using EXISTS it works as per its design and says YES even if a single item is present.
I am unable to login to the sql server as I would like to reboot the server, please let me know how I can do the following remotely in such a scenario:
1. Reboot the sql server
2. Restart the mssqlserver and sqlserveragent services
Thanks.
we run std 2008 r2. I'll be putting together a pkg whose last step needs to execute a program that resides on a remote (not same as where pkg runs) computer and that program must run on the remote computer. Return code(s) would be important to the pkg. I see talk about running over http which may or may not be possible with that remote ws 2003 sp2 server.
The pkg will be running on a ws 2008 r2 std sp1 machine.Does the community have any recommendations for running a remote program from ssis?
As I think about it, i'm not a big fan of making a pkg wait for another process synchronously. So I may just want to trigger the remote program and let something I would set up on the remote server tell me daily if the program succeeded. Interestingly this is a rewrite of a pentaho job that does wait for the remote program execution. I suppose installing ssis on that remote server is an option but I think i'd get a lot of resistance going that route. I'll probably be triggering a sql agent to ssis job after that remote program finishes.
Hi guys
I've been dealing with a few problems with SQL Server 2005.
We don't want to give our DBA's local administrator access to the servers so we had a problem with SSIS which I managed to resolve by adding their global group into the local DCOm group and modifying the security properties of MsDtsServer.
Another problem I've come across is when you log into Management Studio as an account that has local administrator access to the server you have the Green symbol next to the registered server, you can then right click and Stop, Restart services etc.
If I log into Management Studio with an account that has full SQL sysadmin rights but not local administrator rights to the server then the Green symbol doesn't appear and the Stop, restart options are all greyed out - all other functionality appears okay, they just seem to lose the ability to remotely stop and start services.
All of the above is with Windows Firewall turned off, if the user has local administrator rights but the SQL Server has the Windows Firewall switched on they are unable to remotely stop and restart services.
Port 1433 is open on the firewall and program execptions are there for sqlbrowse.exe
Anyone come across this particular problem before?
Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers
Hanley

Hello,
I am trying to migrate my reports from SQL server 2000 reporting services 32bit to 2005 64bit. I am following the migration steps that MS specified.
Restored my Reportserver and ReportserverTempDB databases
Then I was using the configure Report services to upgrade these databases but I always end up getting the follwoing exception when I run the upgrade on the "Database Setup" configuration for 'ReportServerTempDB' database
System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Could not locate entry in sysdatabases for database 'ReportServerTempDBTempDB'. No entry found with that name. Make sure that the name is entered correctly.

It's driving me crazy, why is it looking for 'ReportServerTempDBTempDB' in the catalog instead of 'ReportServerTempDB'?
Is it possible to migrate from 32bit to 64bit?
Any help is appreciated
I'm attempting to obtain a cost effective solution for my existing customers to develop reports on their SQL 2000 Server installations using their Reporting Services 2000. With products like Visual Basic.NET 2003 becoming almost impossible to obtain, I have at least one customer who is running into a dead end.
One option possibly is the SQL Express with Advanced Services download, which has Reporting Services. My questions are as follows:
Can the report designer component of SQL Express Reporting Services be configured to connect to an external database (which would happen to be a SQL 2000 database) to establish its datasets?
Does the resultant designed report end up in an RDL file? If the customer published this report via the Reporting Services 2000 Report Manager, would the report be able to run?
Sorry for asking a question like this that I could probably answer on my own, but my customer needed this answer yesterday. I have scoured the web and microsoft sites - and posted a question on the official SQL Reporting Services cateogy ... in an attempt to answer the basic question of how to design reports for Reporting Services 2000 in the absence of Visual Basic.NET 2003 (or other .NET 2003 tools) with no success.
Thanks to anyone who can help.

I work in a big project and we will begin in using reporting services as the base technique for reports and I will be responsible for this part. but I have a problem I will discuss in the following:
Currently: We use currently devexpress reports and we have 2 languages(Arabic and English). the data in tables saved in two ways (Arabic and English). when the end user change the language of the web site the report data language changed when run it.
Example:
we have table with (ID, NAME_AR, NAME_EN, JobTitle_AR, JobTitle_EN). designed report will display(ID, NAME_EN, JobTitle_EN) . but the end user change the language of the system the report will
dispaly(ID, NAME_AR, JobTitle_AR)
Hint:this done pragmatically
how to do this in reporting services.
