How can I use the Print event of ReportViewer control in my web application? I am trying to print a server report automatically so that the user does not have to click on the Print button in the tool bar of the report viewer.
I came across one article that talks about the Print event -

But I could not find it in VS2005 version that I am using.
Please let me know if there is a method to print the report automatically other than exporting it to some file and printing it from there.

Cannot Print From ReportViewer When Using HTTPS

We are using the ReportViewer web control (SSRS 2005) to render server reports on a webpage that is exposed over the internet. Clients connect using HTTPS, however they are connecting to an ISA server which forwards the requests to the website using plain HTTP.
Reports are shown correctly, however when the user clicks the print button, the request to the web server is sent using HTTP not HTTPS and the ISA server is not allowed to accept incoming HTTP traffic. The result is that reports cannot be printed. We have proven that the reports do print if we manually alter the request to use HTTPS, so there is definitely no problem with our printers.
The problem is that we cannot work out how we can get the print request to be automatically sent using HTTPS.
We had a similar problem when we implented ReportBuilder, but we got around this by specifying HTTPS in the ReportServerExternalUrl tag in the RSWebApplication.config file. Unfortunately this has no effect on the print request from the ReportViewer.
So if anyone has got a solution/workaround/suggestion for this problem we would be very grateful.

Incomplete Print Output From ReportViewer Control
Dec 29, 2006We are experiencing a problem where a server report is rendered in the
ReportViewer control successfully but when the user chooses to print the
content, the print output is incomplete (ex. only 18 of 23 pages are printed,
etc.).
This is happening consistently and has been reproduced for multiple
different reports. It does not happen if the same report is printed via the
Report Manager web interface.
I have also found that if I switch to Print Layout mode and then initiate
the print from the ReportViewer that the problem does not occur. This is our
current workaround, but it would be nice to know what is causing this and
have it fixed.
Has anybody else seen this? Is this a known issue with my current version
(SQLRS 2005 with SP1 applied).

Print From ReportViewer Control Causes Blue Screen

I have a MS Reporting Services Report which I display in a ASPX page inside a iFrame (i.e. an other ASPX page displayed inside the main ASPX page).
The report is rendered to the screen using the normal ReportViewer control.
Everything works fine, except when I click on the Print Button on the ReportViewer control, I get a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) and my computer restarts.
This is something that happens every single time I click on that Print button
Has this happenend to anyone else?

Problem:
When SSRS report is viewed in Reportviewer control in FIREFOX browser, then Print,Zoom and Search tool bar icons are not displayed.
The same problem is also seen, when SSRS report is viewed using URL in Firefox browser.
Description:

Print Barcodes With The Active X Print Control
Mar 2, 2007We are having problems printing Reports (when printing by clicking on the AcitiveX print control), where the font for the fields are set to "C39HrP24DhTt" (barcode).
While viewing the report it displays as Barcodes but while printing, the Barcode does not get printed, but the string gets printed.
Environment: SSRS 2005
Using the ReportViewer Control in a .Net 2.0 Web App to render the reports.
BarCodes print fine in the following situations:
1. When the Report is exported to Excel and when printed from there
2. When you click on the print button on Internet Explorer
3. When saving as html (from view source) and opening that html document and printing.
BarCodes do NOT get printed in the following situation:
1. When printing by clicking on the "Print" (Active X Control) icon. Even the "Print Preview" does not show the Barcode.
Reporting Services From WebBrowser Control - Print = Unable To Load Client Print Control
Mar 20, 2007UPDATE #2: When it said "Do you want to install Microsoft SQL Server" I said "yes" and that caused it to work. I exited and re-ran and now the print runs w/o the "install SQL Server" (If the prompt had said "Do you want to install the print dialog" we wouldn't be having this discussion...)
UPDATE: After posting this i discovered that the same thing occurs when attempting to print the report direct from IE6: First a dialog pops up "Do you want to install this software?" Name: Microsoft SQL Server. When I click "Don't Install" I get the dialog "unable to load client print control." Since this happens direct from IE6 I suspect it's browser settings. I'll resume tomorrow and post a followup.
My WinForm C# app integrates Reporting Services by calling them from WebBrowser controls. The problem is attempts to print cause a dialog: "unable to load client print control."
I've read prior posts that say "enable Active-X in your browser" - I don't know how to do that from a WebBrowser control.
Any ideas how to support Reporting Services "Print" from within a WebBrowser control?

Am I Close Or Way Off The Mark?
Jul 20, 2007I am trying to select rows from a SQL2000 database table and then write a random number back into each row. I have already looked into do it all in a SP but there are well documented limitations for the SQL RAND function when called in the same batch, so I need to somehow do in .Net what I already have working in classic ASP.
I can't get the UPDATE (part two section) to compile. I don't know how to call the stored procedure inside the 'foreach' loop or extract the SP parameters. I have it working in classic asp but am having a lot of trouble converting to .Net 2.0. Is the below even close to working?

Hello all,
I have a DB on my WM2005 device.
I'm using a program which connect to the DB using a CN.
On the constructor of the DB Class I use the line

Then I Open the Connection.
Now, in some ways I need to drop a Table.
Before I do so, I disconnect the DB but I'm using only the line

I saw om the Watch attributes that its not a real disconnect to the DB.
When I try to Drop the Table I get this message:
The system timed out waiting for a lock. [ Session id = 25,Thread id = -2096711882,Process id = -2090594918,Table name = Movies,Conflict type = x lock (s blocks),Resource = DDL ]
And the Table doesn't drop.
Is it related to the constructor line I made?
What is the best solution to Drop a table..and then to get connected again with the DB.

When I try, the SQL tells me he can't because the database is in use. I don't realy care about this I still want to restore the database. So I figured it's because there are some active connection to the database. My gues is I have to close those, but how? I also know I can restart SQLExpress and the connection will drop, but this server has more then one database, so I cant always do that. I'm looking for some T-SQL like DROP ALL CONNECTION.

This is VERY VERY simple.
Here's a code test I did place in the Form_Load of my C#.NET app.
SqlConnection cnn = new SqlConnection();
cnn.ConnectionString = "bla bla...";
cnn.Open();
cnn.Close();
cnn.Dispose();
In SQL SERVER PROFILER, the Audit Login takes place as soon as I hit the .Open()
but when I hit the .Close() OR the .Dispose() there's no Audit Logout. The Audit Logout is issued only
when I quit the application.
Is there someone to explain this behaviour ?

Close Connection Of SQLExpress!

I write a .NET Windows Form that connect to SQLExpress datafile. After updating data, I want to zip the .mdf file and send email. However, I got an exeption that the .mdf file is used by other thread so I cant zip. Even I try to close all connection, I still cant zip.
Is there any way to detach/unlock .mdf file connecting by SQLExpress?

Should You Close Connections And Datasets, Sqldatasource
Nov 21, 2007should u always close everys sqldatasource connection string and the dataset associated with it,
if so how do u do that (ie the proper way) and is it possible to to do it in the session area of global.aspx, NEt 2.0 or should it be done when exiting the page containing the data stuff,

Database Design Question. I Am Close ;)
Oct 27, 2005Lets say I am selling parts for cars, trucks, suvs, vans, etc.
I want a user to search for a part by selecting a vehicle type, then a vehicle make, and then a vehicle model.
So
Vehicle Makes have to be related to Vehicle Types (I.E: Land Rover doesn’t make a car) and vehicle models need to be related to vehicle make (I.E Toyato doesn’t make a mustang Ford does).
So I am okay with those relationships individually but what is confusing me is how to ensure that a Mustang doesn’t show up as a Ford Car.
Lets say I have:

Anyone know of a way to setup a keyboard shortcut to close the current window your working in ? Normally with other editors (such as visual studio) I use ctl-w to close the current window. Cant do that with sql studio.

How To Close Messages Tab For Query Results
Nov 12, 2007In SQL Server 2005 (Developer Edition) I can't figure out how to close the extra sub-tabs (by default within and below the current query tab) that show the query results and messages.
I know in SQL Server 2000 there was an icon button in the toolbar that let you do this. Surely there is some similar way to close that in 2005?
Does anyone know how?
