im getting this as a part of the connection timed out message, while connecting from my node to sql server 2000 instance running on windows 2000 server.
I'm using some db replication tool written in JAVA. Where in the config file I have entered db driver, db url, sa and password. This tool lies in ubuntu. I couldn't able to connect to MS SQL server.
We are running a software which has a sql database and it runs a data cycle everyday in which it gets data from several other sql servers on our network.
Recently we have starting receiving the following errors during this run;
It finishes most of the queries in the script, but on some (and not always the same tables) it gives the time out error. I am not quit sure where or how to research this problem.
The TCP/IP connection to the host has failed. java.net.ConnectException: Connection timed out: connect" whenever i try to connect to the remote DB which is present at a different system.
Hi there, i am working on SQL JDBC 2005 version 1.1. I have a liferay portal database located at server 1, wsrp portlets' database located at server 2 (with instance name instance1). The producer (liferay) have to create a connection with server 2 (use connection string) to authenticate the consumer. If the registration properties is valid, then the consumer are able to consume the wsrp portlet. (Note that i use tomcat as web container)
But when the producer connect to server 2, tomcat throws error: com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerException: The TCP/IP connection to the host has failed. java.net.ConnectException: Connection timed out: connect at com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerException.makeFromDriverError(Unknown Source) at com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerConnection.connectHelper(Unknown Source) at com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerConnection.loginWithoutFailover(Unknown Source) at com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerConnection.connect(Unknown Source) at com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver.connect(Unknown Source) at java.sql.DriverManager.getConnection(DriverManager.java:525) at java.sql.DriverManager.getConnection(DriverManager.java:193) at com.mypackage.utils.DBUtils.getDBConnection(DBUtils.java:45)
My connection string pattern is : "jdbcqlserver://{0}:{1};User={2};Password={3};DatabaseName={4}" Which {0}: server name
{1}: port, ...... for ex: jdbcqlserver://server2instance1,2345:2345;User=sa;Password=Sa;DatabaseName=mydb
Is my string correct ?
Note that the error occur intermittent, not everytime.
If any one there who have got or experienced with this error, please help me. Thanks you very much
I am getting an error message when i am trying to open my application which is designed in VB and is connected to a remote "SQLSERVER".
Error in Mian Description:[Microsoft][SQL Native Client]Query timeout expired Number: 2147217871
How to solve the issue, I am frequently getting this error message. Is the issue related to a Network problem or problem with the Execution of the query by "SQLSERVER" or is it a combination of both.
It would be a great help if some one can help me out in solving this isssue.
I am attempting to modify the ADS sample to work with my own application and am running into a snag. I have a simple sqlce database that has two tables in it. I have everything working up until the point where I try to "Pull" the data. At this point in time this is what happens.
1.) I successfully Drop Table1 from the SQLCE database and then Pull "Table1" from the desktop database
2.) When attempting to Pull Table2. It runs the DoesTableExist Function, identifies that the table does exist and therefore tries to run the "DropTable" routine before Pulling the desktop Table2 data. As soon as the sqlCmd.ExecuteNonQuery of the DropTable routine runs I get the following error....
"The system timed out waiting for a lock. [ Session id = 1,Thread id = 1318094114,Process id = 1318068802,Table name = Table2,Conflict type = x lock (s blocks),Resource = DDL ][Table2]"
Of Note...I converted the sample to VB.NET so it's possible something didn't convert right? My guess is that it probably has something to with my SQLCE Database but I haven't the slightest clue where to go from there. Anyone have any ideas what might be going on?
Hi,I need some help. I am getting this error after I complete the asp.net register control and click on the continue button. It crashed when it tries to get it calls this Profile property((string)(this.GetPropertyValue("Address1")));When I look at the stack, it is coming from my ProfileWrapper class which adds user address, city, etc.. from a class which inherits fromSystem.Web.Profile.ProfileBase. From the stack, it is calling the System.Web.Profile and crashed when it tries to open a connection atSystem.Data.ProviderBase.DbConnectionPool.GetConnection(DbConnection owningObject). I already migrated all aspnet_user, aspnet_roles, etc.. and don't get any connection errors. It is only when I try to get the profile data. This works on my pc, but throws an error on my lunarpage website.Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks,AJAn error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. I am working on SQL Server 2005 (x64) with Windows Server 2003 (x64) operating system. I am having a major issue in SSIS. Here is the detailed explanation of the issue :
I have an EXCEL file in 2003 / 2007 version. It contains some data. I want to import the data using SSIS into SQL Server 2005 (x64) database table. I have taken "EXCEL FILE SOURCE" and "SQL Server DESTINATION". It was failed on importing data. Surprisingly it works fine in SQL Server 2005 (x32). Can you please explain why it is NOT woking on (x64) ?
Here is the error code i am getting:
[Excel Source [1]] Error: The AcquireConnection method call to the connection manager "Excel Connection Manager" failed with error code 0xC0202009.
Hi, i have a counter on my page that gets the number of users online, i've made it possible by adding a column that gets value 1 when user login and value 0 when logout. Also the page have a frame that refreshs every 4 minutes and updates the last activity column on my users table. The problem is when session timeouts due to closing the browser of connection down, etc, i mean, when people don't logout with the logout button.I've tried to put code to that in global.asx in session_end but seems not to be working. I've tought that if i can have a page running a stored sql procedure that gets users with value 1 and compares his last activity date with current date and put it to 0 in case of inactivity it can be the solution, the problem is that i don't know how to do it. How can i have a sql procedure running every 5 minutes on server side on a remote host? I think that this is my question. If you have another solution to my problem i'll be glad to hear it, if you do not understand i can explain better. Thanks in advance.
today i get one issue from production. Here is the description
1) when one user try to load the large volume of report (SSRS report with 2.0 million records), the other user get the timed out issue?
My SSRS report populate data from the same table and other connected user trying to insert/update the record into same table and they get timed-out error?
I am not sure but SSRS reading data only read-only & forward only mode. right? Why the other users get the timed-out issue?
I am having a problem with an application that does not kill timed out connections. This is normally not an issue, but when something causes the timed out connections to build up, it stops the frontend from working correctly. The frontend developers are trying to figure out how to change their code to check for and drop timed out connections at the application. Until then, I need a way to check for timed out connections at the database and drop them there via a job that will run every 10 minutes or so. I have to make sure that only timed out connections are dropped and not active ones. Any suggestions?
I have an SSIS package that looks for the existence of a file (using Konesans file watcher) on the network to begin processing. I am trying to find a way to terminate/shutdown the entire process if that file is not out there by say 7:30 AM. I think I could set a timeout on the filewatcher task, but was hoping there was another tool I could use. (If the process had to be restarted late a timeout would still countdown the same period wouldn't it? We'd still need the job to stop by 7:30.)
More background. The package, once deployed, will be called from a command line script that is started by a scheduled task normally, or manually in the event of late availability.
I'm trying to handle errors in SSIS package. I created Scrip task where I do following:
-----------
If CInt(Dts.Variables("BADROWSFILE").Value) <> 0 Then
Dts.Variables("ERROR_MSG").Value = "Errors in input file. Error count: " + CStr(Dts.Variables("BADROWSFILE").Value) + ". See log table and file for more info."
Dts.TaskResult = Dts.Results.Failure
Else
Dts.TaskResult = Dts.Results.Success
End If
---------
Then in package level OnError I added Execute SQL Script task where I pass ERROR_MSG as Input Parameter.
The flow gets to the SQl task and this is what I'm getting:
Error: 0xC001405B at Log error: A deadlock was detected while trying to lock variable "User::ERROR_MSG" for read access. A lock could not be acquired after 16 attempts and timed out.
Error: 0xC00291EA at Log error, SQL Task: Variable "User::ERROR_MSG" does not exist.
I am generally a C programmer and have little experience with DB programming, so I apologize right from the start.
I have a table that allows a registration item with a verification item that will be NULL when the item is created. What I wish to do is delete these if the verification item is still NULL after a specified time (say 24 to 48 hours).
I would prefer to do this with some sort of trigger in one of two ways and any suggestions are much appreciated. 1. Have a stored procedure or function (not sure which is best to utilize) that runs every 2 days which checks the table for the NULL values and deletes any older than 48 hours. 2. Create a stored procedure or function when the registration is made that will check if the verification is still NULL for that particular record 24 hours later. I would think the first would be the simplest, but am not certain.
Again, forgive my inexperience with DB programming and again I appreciate any advice given.
I've looked at the other threads on this topic, and don't see an answer to the following question:
Why should an error destination time out waiting for error rows?
I'm using SQL Server Destinations both for my staging tables and for my "Error Staging" tables. Yet it seems that these are timing out if the package runs a long time without any error rows. This leads to two questiosn:
Why should an error destination time out waiting for error rows?
I can solve this by setting the timeouts to some very large number. But, is there a better way to do this? Right now, if the package takes five minutes, I need to set the timeouts to longer than five minutes. That does not sound like a good idea.
I'm using ReportingServices 2008 and I've this message "The operation has timed out" when rendering a report with some parameters. I've set in the execution properties of this report : Do not apply the expiration time for the execution of the report. When I look the ExecutionLogStorage table from Report Server DataBase I see that I've no message for this report when timeRendering is 21109ms. When I change the report parameters to obtain more data, the timeRendering is 76866ms and I've the message "The operation has timed out".
Hi All, I am getting the following error if I am using the package "Transaction Option=Required" while running through Sql Job: The AcquireConnection method call to the connection manager "<connection name>" failed with error code 0xC0202009.
while I running the SSIS package on BI environment, I am getting the following error: [Connection manager "<connection name>"] Error: The SSIS Runtime has failed to enlist the OLE DB connection in a distributed transaction with error 0x8004D00A "Unable to enlist in the transaction.".
I know the alternative solution is to make the "Transaction Option=Supported", but in my case I have run the whole flow in a single transaction. I came to know that this has been fixed in the service pack1(ref. to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/914375). FYI.. some time it was running successful.
I have taken all the necessary step to run the SSIS package in a distributed transaction(like the steps for MSDTC) and also created the package flow in a sequence.
I was going through the link - http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=160340&SiteID=1 but all those didn't solve my problem.
If anyone can help me it will be great. or it is a bug in SSIS?
Problem: ColA (Source) Rounding error to PARTY_NO (Destination) I have a field of text of in a flat file that the flat file connection manager Source picks up correctly €œ70000893€? However when it gets the OLE DB Connection Destination the data has changed to 70000896. That€™s before its even Written to the database. The only clue that something is wrong in the middle is the great Data viewer shows the number as 7.000009E+07 Other clues looking at the data it appears there is a rounding error on only the number that dont end in 00 ColA (Source) PARTY_NO (Destination) 71167300 71167296 70329000 70329000 70410000 70410000 Any ideas people? Thanks in advance Dave
I am working in a distributed environment, I verified msgs have been successfully send from server1 db1 to server2 db2, but I still get the following error msg from the sender server through SQL profile:
Connection attempt failed with error: '10061(No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.)'.
Hello, I have a sql 2005 server, and I am a developer, with the database on my own machine. It alwayws works for me but after some minutes the other developer cant work in the application
He got this error
Login failed for user ''. The user is not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection. [CLIENT: 192.168.1.140]
and When I see the log event after that error, it comes with another error.
SSPI handshake failed with error code 0x8009030c while establishing a connection with integrated security; the connection has been closed. [CLIENT: 192.168.1.140]
He has IIS5 and me too.
I created a user on the domain called ASPSYS with password, then in the IIS on anonymous authentication I put that user with that password, and it works, on both machines.
I go to the profiler, and I see that when he browses a page, the database is accesed with user ASPSYS, but when I browse a page, the database is accesed with user SElevalencia.
Thats strange.
The only way that the other developer can work again on the project is to restart the whole machine. He has windows xp profession, I have windows 2000.
All queries on our Production database are timing out. Viewing the error log file the following show up over and over again:
Autogrow of file 'tempdev' in database 'tempdb' was cancelled by user or timed out after 3937 milliseconds. Use ALTER DATABASE to set a smaller FILEGROWTH value for this file or to explicitly set a new file size.
Autogrow of file 'Prod' in database 'Production' was cancelled by user or timed out after 33156 milliseconds. Use ALTER DATABASE to set a smaller FILEGROWTH value for this file or to explicitly set a new file size.
Our production database is about 1 gig in size with 3.5 million records. I tried setting the autogrow from 30% which it was before to 100MB, but no luck, still timing out and getting the errors above. Permission should be all good, nothing has changed.
There is about 50gigs of available disk space as well, so that's not the problem. Thanks for the help.
I am using SSIS 2005 on Windows 2003 server. Using Excel Source to dump the data for staging database. I am getting following error while I execute it through BI studio's execute button.
I have deployed my packages into Sql Server and I am using Configuration File. As my Data Source is Excel, I have changed the connection string during deployment with Server Path. But I am getting the following errors. Actually the File Exist in Path. May I know What is cause of the issue? Do I need to give any permission to execute the package.

I've got a package which reads a text file into a table and updates another. I set up configurations so that I could import it into the SSIS store on both my dev and live servers. Now, I'm getting this error. I tried removing the configs and am still getting it.
I've been through each step and everything looks okay. Does anyone have any idea (a) what's wrong, (b) how to localise the error or (c) get any additional information? Or do I just have to recreate the package from scratch?

Scenario Configuration : VB.net 2005 Code, WebService for Executing SSIS on Server, SSIS deployed on the Database Server
Problem Description : We are developing windows applicaiton in which we call webservice which was deployed on the same server where SSIS packages are deployed. Now from Code we are passing FilePath name in variable and execute the Package. But the SSis result says that The file name "\computernamefol1fol2fol3fol4abc.txt" specified in the connection was not valid.
More Information:
1. Full Permission are given on this network folder. 2. Package executes successfully from SSIS development solution (BIS solution) 3. Deployed packed executes successfully from the Database Server. 4. From Development pc packege executes successfully. 5. Other packages deployed on the same server executed suucessfully with same configuration and scenario.
Only this package is not executing.

Can any one suggest the appropirate solution for this problem...
I have a web application developed in VS.NET 2005 [using C# as code behind]; and it uses SQL Server 2000 Enterprise edition as backend. The application runs fine, though it gives an error on IRREGULAR intervals on SQL data requests. Error Details: An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server)
My problem is this: 1) Why does it show an error of SQL 2005, while I use SQL 2000. SQL 2005 is not even installed on the server, though VS.NET 2005 is installed. 2) The error comes only at irregular intervals. Users are able to login properly otherwise. 3) Application starts working again if we do either of the following: (a) Restart IIS (b) Restart application pool (c) Restart server. 4) Named pipes and TCP/IP are added to the "Network Configuration" of the SQL server 2000. 5) Error does not come on any specific page; or any specific code; or at any specific time. 6) We do not have any background service or any other activity happening on the server; and the server hosts only this application, within a single virtual root.
Any thoughts on why is this happening, and how to resolve this?
