How are you?? Friends i am getting problem in SQL Server 2005. I am deployng web application on production server as well as Databse also. In production server i inserted new field in all tables which is rowguid and its type is uniqueidentifier. The default binding for this field is newsequentialid(). In some pages it works ok but in some places it generates error like 'Conversion from type 'DBNull' to type 'String' is not valid'. Can anybody help me to solve this problem. Its urgent so plz reply me as soon as possible. I'll be very thankfull to you. Thanks in Advance.
I have a table with one of the column(EmpHiredate) datatype is char(10). It has value like "20141023". I need to display this value as date format(dd/mm/yyyy) in report. Following methods i tried in textbox expression but no luck.

Hi all, I am developing ASP.NET 1.1 application using VB.NET & SQL Server, on my machine I am using SQL Server 2000, and everything is working just fine. The problem appears when I uploaded the site to the Host, they are using SQL Server 2005, is there any reason for this, I am using casting in the code, and I am sure there is something wrong with the hosting settings. Hi, I have developed a custom server control for .NET Framework 2.0. The server control has a property named BinaryData of type byte[]. I marked this property to be data bindable. Now, I have varbinary(Max) type of field in my SQL Database and I have used SQLDataSource and bound this varbinary(Max) field with the property BinaryData (byte[]) of my control. It is working fine as long as the data value is not NULL. Now, In my control, I have handled the NULL value so that no Exception is thrown. Still, when I bind this property using the SQLDataSource, I get Error "Unable to cast object of type 'System.DBNull' to type 'System.Byte[]'." I am not sure if I can do anything to stop this erro within my control. If it is not possible from the control, then what is the workaround that I can do in my ASPX page in order to stop this error ? I have a web page which executes a stored procedure with several parameters. On execution I get an error for the following piece of code. I am trying to use the Bulk Insert Task to load from a csv file. My final column is a bit that is nullable. My file is an ID column that is int, a date column that is mm/dd/yyy, then 20 columns that are real, and a final column that is bit. I've tried various combinations of codepage and datafiletype on my task component. When I have RAW with Char, I get the error included below. If I change to RAW/Native or codepage 1252, I don't have an issue with the bit; however, errors start generating on the ID and date columns.
I have tried various data type settings on my flat file connection, too. I have tried DT_BOOL and the integer datatypes. Nothing seems to work.
I hope someone can help me work through this.

Hello, I have problem with this code.(This program presents - there is GridView tied to a SQL database that will sort the data selected by a dropdownList at time categories. Recently i traspased a database from sql server 2000 in spanish to sql server 2005 in english. I change the language of the user sa to spanish and the database is in spanish. . The problem is our dateformat is dmy, i try to force with set dateformat dmy, but always i execute a stored procedure that have a date as input it fail. The error is:

The code of stored procedure in this line is:

This stored procedure in sql server 2000 in spanish not have any problems. For this reason i think the problem is in the configuration.

However, it fails to work with the message :System.InvalidCastException: Cast from string "" to type 'Date' is not valid.
All source and target date fields are defined as data type "smalldatetime". The "select" executes without error though when used with "insert into" it fails with the error:

I'm creating an ISP for extractig data from a text file and put it in a database.
One of the fields in my textfile contains the value '0' or a date. If it's '0' it should be converted to the Null Value. The column in which it has to be saved is of type smalldatetime.
This is the code of my script where I want to check the value of the field in my textfile and convert it to a date or to Null.

I'm getting this error on a vb.net page the needs to execute two separate stored procedures. The first one, is the main insert, and returns the identity value for the ClientID. The second stored procedure inserts data, but needs to insert the ClientID returned in the first stored procedure. I am using Visual Studio 2005 and SQL Express 2005. The database was converted from MS Access 2003 to SQL Express by using the upsize wizard.
I would like to store the current date & time in a column in a table. This column is a smalldatetime column called 'lastlogin'.
The code I'm using is:

This code works fine on my local machine and local SQL server. However at the client side this code results in the error as mentioned in the subject of this thread. I first used 'datetime.now' instead of 'getdate()', but that caused the same error. Then I changed the code to 'getdate()', but the error still remains.
The server at the client is running Windows Server 2000 UK . My local machiine is running WIndows XP Dutch.
Maybe the conversion from Dutch to UK has something to do with it. But this should be solved by using the 'Getdate()' function..... ?
I made a point type by C# for deploying in SQL2005.
It builds successfully every time.
When I deploy, it gives the following error: "Error: Type "SqlServerProject1.TypePoint" is marked for native serialization, but field "x" of type "SqlServerProject1.TypePoint" is not valid for native serialization." although x variable is value type decimal.

I have an SSIS package that I need to modify. It was developed in Visual Studio 2005 and runs faithfully in production on SQL Server 2005. Suddenly, I can't open the package on my own workstation. I see a big red "X" image and a message stating "Microsoft Visual Studio is unable to load this document." The real reason the document can't be loaded appears to be:
Error loading DataWarehouseLoader.dtsx: The connection type "OLEDB" specified for connection manager "Warehouse Logging OLE DB" is not recognized as a valid connection manager type. This error is returned when an attempt is made to create a connection manager for an unknown connection type. Check the spelling in the connection type name.
Does anyone know what causes this and what I can do? The package has been in production for 9 months and I've never seen this problem before.
Cannot use dynamic sql in current context. So need some help regarding this.I am developing a stored procedure to update a table. Sending Column names as parameters, but not able to use them as given below.INSERT INTO Books (@Column1, @Column2) values.. Any way to execute without using dynamic sql?..Thanx.
I got this error for a calculated field that calls a public function of a custom assembly based on the report parameter values. The return type is an array of double.
Does SSRS 2005 supports the type double for a field? Can the data source of a field in a dataset be an array? Is there a way to pass the array to a field by reference and display the values at runtime?
I would appreciate any help since I could not find anything helpful on the internet and Microsoft document!
