Convert Seconds To DateTime

Jan 28, 2008

I have values in seconds (integers) in a database column and I want to convert those values to datetime. For example: 102 into 1:42(60 seconds = 1 minute + 42 seconds = 1:42), 150 into 2:30, etc.

I've been working for hours today on this, but haven't been able to come up with a solution.

How Can I Convert Datetime To Number Of Minutes

Oct 9, 2007

I have a column in a table that stores the number of hours a task took to do. The column TaskDuration is a datetime datatype. I need to convert the hours to something that can be summed. Does anyone how this can be done? I tried CONVERT(nvarchar(5), tblTasks.TaskDuration, 108) but of course the nvarchar(5) cannot be summed. Maybe there is a way to convert the time portion to minutes and divide it by 60, anyway if someone can offer some help I appreciate it.

Convert DateTime To Int - Display Number Of Days

Sep 1, 2014

I'm stuck on converting a datetime field to Int. Basically, one of the fields in the select returns the datetime of a journey. However I need to be able to add up the number of days for a specific person who done that journey, e.g. it will return 21/08/2014, 22/08/2014 etc...

I then need to total up the days as a new field to display the number of days.

Can you do this by converting a datetime to int then use COUNT on the int?

Convert Seconds (INT) To Mm:ss In Reporting Services

Feb 27, 2007

Hello,

I have been trying for a while now to convert seconds which are obtainted from the database into the format mm:ss.

Typically in Excel, I convert my time in integer values divided by 86400 (24/60/60) and then format the cell to "mm:ss" and everything is fine. Now, I am have been trying to reproduce that same logic using Reporting Services (2000) without any success.

I saw on previous post that you can use the format property in RS but if I put in the code "mm:ss" I get the value in text "mm:ss" (i.e.: not the numbers converted).

Any ideas???

TIA,

Convert Seconds To Hour And Minutes Format

How can I accomplish this in report builder or is it even possible in Report builder? I can use the following formula in SQL but is there a way to do it in Report Builder?

CONVERT(varchar(6), talktime / 3600) + ':' + RIGHT('0' + CONVERT(varchar(2),

talktime % 3600 / 60), 2) + ':' + RIGHT('0' + CONVERT(varchar(2), talktime % 60), 2)

SQL Function To Display A Seconds Counter In Datetime Format

Aug 28, 2007

I'm querying a database table that creates a time stamp in seconds only. I have a starting time of
1099725928 = 11/6/2004 12:25:28 AM. So that if another entry is made 1 second later the time stamp value entered into the table is 1099725929. The front end application does the converstion from the seconds counter to the datetime format. The query I am writing calls information from this table for a different application that does not have the conversion capability. If I know the starting point (I don't want to create a conversion table) which is 1099725928 = 11/6/2004 12:25:28 AM, is it possible to write into my query script a function to convert the seconds value to the correct datetime format? It would need to accurately account for leapyear and even/odd months.

SIMPLE Command To Convert String To Number? Not CAST Or CONVERT.

Aug 15, 2006

Dear Experts,Ok, I hate to ask such a seemingly dumb question, but I'vealready spent far too much time on this. More that Iwould care to admit.In Sql server, how do I simply change a character into a number??????In Oracle, it is:select to_number(20.55)from dualTO_NUMBER(20.55)----------------20.55And we are on with our lives.In sql server, using the Northwinds database:SELECTr.regionid,STR(r.regionid,7,2) as a_string,CONVERT(numeric, STR(r.regionid,7,2)) as a_number,cast ( STR(r.regionid) as int ) as cast_to_numberFROM REGION R1 1.00112 2.00223 3.00334 4.0044SELECTr.regionid,STR(r.regionid,7,2) as a_string,CONVERT(numeric, STR(r.regionid,7,2) ) as a_number,cast (STR(r.regionid,7,2) as numeric ) as cast_to_numberFROM REGION R1 1.00112 2.00223 3.00334 4.0044Str converts from number to string in one motion.Isn't there a simple function in Sql Server to convertfrom string to number?What is the secret?Thanks

Sep 11, 2007

hi,
How do i convert a varchar field into the datetime data type? the reason i need this lies in the requirement that in the earlier data base the column that is hlding the date value is having the data type as varchar. and in the new design the column data type is datetime. i am using sql scripts for the data migration from the older design to the newer and got stuck with this datetime convertion issue. do let me know the best possible solution.

following are the sample data that is theer in the older table for the date.

12/12/2003
1/13/2007
01132004
1-1-2004
1.2.2001

there is no uniformity of the data that is stored currently.

Convert Datetime.

Mar 29, 2004

Hello All,

In following statement in SQL, I'm first converting 'IssueDate' with style 101 into 'nvarchar' then converting to Datatime.

convert(datetime,convert (nvarchar,Cert_WarehouseDetails.IssuedDateX,101)) <= '3/29/2004')

Which is right in below one.

1. Do I need to first convert into nvarchar then datetime.
e.g. convert(datetime,convert (nvarchar,Cert_WarehouseDetails.IssuedDateX,101)) <= '3/29/2004')

2. Otherwise can I directly convert into datetime.

convert(datetime,Cert_WarehouseDetails.IssuedDateX ,101) <= '3/29/2004')

Please reply to me asap.
