Create A Table With A Field With Only Time Datatype
Jul 13, 2006
Hello experts,
I want to create a table to store only time in a fileld. There is "DateTime" for my purpose but i dont want to save the Date part only the time part as "12:30:44 AM". I know i can select only time part from Datetime field but i want to save only time. Can anybody help me how can i create that kinda table ?
I'm want to store a time from a datetimepicker control(format = time) into a sql table. I'm using c# and windows forms with vs2008. Some example code would be nice. Thanks.
I am storing xml in an xml datatype field in a table. But when I am generating physical file from the xml field, '&' in the xml field is getting converted into '&' in the physical file. But I want '&' to be intact.
Is there an AutoType Datatype for Date field. just like the Identity property for an ID field.
It increments by 1 for each new record.
The same way if i add a record to the table can it automatically put todays date or date and time for the field date created in my table.
The reason is i am uploading the record from xml file(Using SQLXMLBULKLOAD) so i dont have a chance to mention on the front end code or in the XSD file.
I want to use time series algorithm to mine data from my case table and nested table. Case table is Date table, while nested table is the fact table. E.g, I want to predict the monthly sales amount for different region (I have region table related to the fact table), how can I achieve this?
Thanks a lot and I hope it is clear for your help and I am looking forward to hearing from you shortly.
I would like to create a procedure which create views by taking parameters the table name and a field value (@Dist).
However I still receive the must declare the scalar variable "@Dist" error message although I use .sp_executesql for executing the particularized query.
Below code.
ALTER Procedure [dbo].[sp_ViewCreate] /* Input Parameters */ @TableName Varchar(20), @Dist Varchar(20) AS Declare @SQLQuery AS NVarchar(4000) Declare @ParamDefinition AS NVarchar(2000)

I have startdate and enddate. I like startdate to be 4/28/08 12:00:00 and enddate to be 5/4/08 23:59:59. What update statement do i need to run to update table. Currently my table show startdate 2008-04-28 05:00:00.000 enddate 2008-05-04 04:59:59.000.
I like to add a day to this date and also make time to 23:59:59. So end result for this table and recrods will be 2008-11-09 23:59:59 and next row 2008-11-16 23:59:59 so on..... 2008-11-08 23:00:00.000 2008-11-15 23:00:00.000 2008-11-22 23:00:00.000 2008-11-29 23:00:00.000 2008-12-06 23:00:00.000 2008-12-13 23:00:00.000 2008-12-20 23:00:00.000 2008-12-27 23:00:00.000 2009-01-03 23:00:00.000 2009-01-10 23:00:00.000 2009-01-17 23:00:00.000 2009-01-24 23:00:00.000 2009-01-31 23:00:00.000 2009-02-07 23:00:00.000 2009-02-14 23:00:00.000 2009-02-21 23:00:00.000 2009-02-28 23:00:00.000 2009-03-07 23:00:00.000
electric: id_electric indentity primary key, id_room varchar(4), number_first int, number_last int, Sum_Number int, money_electric money, status bit
Water: id_Water indentity primary key, id_room varchar(4), number_first int, number_last int, Sum_Number int, money_water money, status bit
Now what I want to do are statistics on how much money I got in a year or month. Here is my code to calculate incomes of year.
Select Year(day_register) as 'Year' , Sum(money_per_month * month(day_end-day_register)) + sum(b.money_electric+c.money_water) as 'Incomes' From lodgings_Contract a , electric b , Water c Where a.id_room = b.id_room And a.id_room = c.id_room And b.status = 1 And c.status = 1 Group by Year(day_register)
--Then somehow iterate each value in the field dbname to create a view something like Create View viewcreatedfromtable As Select * from foxfire.dbo.abcd Union All Select * from foxfire.dbo.abcde
[Code] ....
I tried this, but it is only printing the last result returned not the entire result set
Code: Declare @database varchar(max), @sql varchar(max) Declare c1 Cursor For Select Program from tocreateviewfrom Open c1
I'm trying to get a SQL 7 and 6.5 DB to interact, but while there is no problem in SQL7, I cannot create a table called "Public" or a field called "Primary"!! Does anyone know why this might be and if so where I might get a list of any other "invalid" names??
I am trying to load a table from MS Access into SQL Server. The Table has several columns defined as Date/Time. When I define the transform I get an error saying that the conversion between DT_DBDATE and DT_DBTIMESTAMP is not supported.

You may find below script stupid to you. I am trying to create a table with week number that is not fixed, i.e. March 2006 may have 4 weeks and April 5 weeks based on our company calendar.
And Field Names could be Grp, SubGrp, Week_10, Week_11, Week_12, Week_13 depending on the week being stored in TempWeekFile. We could start the month having only Week 10 and following week with Week 11 added into TempWeekFile.
My below script shows error. I have following records in my TempWeekFile
Week_No WeekCnt 10 1 11 2 12 3 13 4
How to write a script that do the above? Has anyone done this using a better method? Please advise. Thank you.
I want to create index for hash table (#TEMPJOIN2) to reduce the update query run time. But I am getting "Warning!
The maximum key length is 900 bytes. The index 'R5IDX_TMP' has maximum length of 1013 bytes. For some combination of large values, the insert/update operation will fail". What is the right way to create index on temporary table.
Update query is running(without index) for 6 hours 30 minutes. My aim to reduce the run time by creating index.Â
And also I am not sure, whether creating index in more columns will create issue or not.
Attached the update query and index query.
CREATE NONCLUSTERED INDEX [R5IDX_TMP] ON #TEMPJOIN2 ( [PART] ASC, [ORG] ASC, [SPLRNAME] ASC, [REPITEM] ASC, [RFQ] ASC,Â
I would like to store a time field in one of my SQL tables and display it in my report formated appropriately. What is the best datatype to use? Can I use an int and format it like HH: MM: SS? I've tried the t format to no avail and have tried something like
= First(Fields!Time.Value,2) + ":" + .......
But I get the following error: "The value expression for the textbox has scope parameter that is not valid for an aggregate function."
Obviously I am going about this wrong. What's the best way?
USE [Testing] GO /****** Object: Table [dbo].[Testing] Script Date: 4/25/2014 11:08:18 AM ******/ SET ANSI_NULLS ON GO SET QUOTED_IDENTIFIER ON
[Code] ....
It seems to work fine with one million records.
Each primary key is unique, but the begindate is non-unique, and i guess even if i use datetime2 and add nanoseconds, from what i have read, there is a chance that i could have a duplicate datetime since the date is imported via XML from multiple sources.
I hope to update a DateTime column value with a Time input parameter.  Poor attempt below but it looks like the @ApptTime param is coming in as 10:45:00.0000000 and I might have an existing @SendOnDate as: 2015-10-05 07:00:00.000...I hope to end up with 2015-10-05 10:45:00.000
ALTER PROCEDURE [dbo].[SendEditUPDATE] @QuePoolID int=null ,@ApptTime time(7) ,@SendOnDate datetime
Here is my delema: I have data that I have transfered from Access2000 to SQL2000 without issue. However, in my data from Access I have a date field that has just date. When brought into SQL2000 it is given a timestamp as well. According to documentation, if no time is entered in teh field, one is provided (12:00:00 AM).
My delema is that I have a dropdown list box that displays distinct dates from a table for selection to execute a query but now my listbox is twice as long due to the insertion of the timestamp.
Is there a way to get rid of the timestamp that I am not capturing for this field? I can't believe that SQL2000 doesn't have a way to handle just a date.
I understand that SQL 2005 doesn´t support TIME ( which is, for me, incredibly weird). Now, could anyone please help me solve my problem. I want to make it possible to insert into database a start-time for the first runner in a team. And when he finishes, a finish-time. This finish-time I will also use as a start-time for the second runner....a.s.o. Furthermore I want to be able to get the results from the database to present them in several ways. This also means I can't simply insert the time as a string since it won't change hour at every 60 minutes. I have read somewhere that it should be possible to create own datatypes, but I have absolutely no knowledge to that. Could anyone please help me?
