Is it possible to customise the Report Manager Page? For example, can the icon be changed or the wording "SQL Server Reporting Services" be removed?

Feb 7, 2007Is it possible to add custom controls in for parameters in report manager??
I have a parameter that requires the user to click a button and select a bunch of things in another form. How can i do this in reporting services??
I also would like to change the layout of the parameters toolbar, ie. make text boxes smaller widths, show/hide parameters based on other parameter values.
I know i could write my own web page that does this and hide the parameters toolbar when they run the report, but this would mean that we lose other functionality that report manager has, eg. scheduling.
Does anyone know if customising the report manager will become available in a later version??

I added a new windows user "ReportUser" which is a local user (not in administrator group). When I connect to the report manage's web page, I use reportuser to log in (when the anonymous access is disabled it will ask a log in). Report builder icon is not showing up on the report manager home page.
If I log in as a user in administrator group, the reportr builder icon shows up so I can download it and build report.
I have assigned reportuser "Content manager" and "repoter builder" access to the home folder. Is there anything else I have to do to make the report build icon show up on the home page?

Non-Report Hyperlinks On Report Manager Home Page?

Can't See The Report Manager Page

I have installed the Sql Server 2005 reporting services and I see that two default directories being created in IIS (Report and ReportServer..). For some reason, if I type http://localhost/reports, I am unable to see the report manager homepage. Can anybody suggest me if I need to configure any more stuff to see the report manager?
I enabled the anonymous authentication and still cannot see....
I can see the webservice however by typing http://localhost/reportserver...
Any suggestions are greatly apprecaited...

Can't Get To Report Manager Home Page.
Jan 27, 2007I have Reporting Services 2005 installed on my Windows XP machine. I can access the Report Manager home page with the built-in Administrator account. However, my own account, which is a member of the Computer Admin group, is denied access with a 401.3 error. The 401.3 seems to be access denied due to not being on the ACL. I am using simple file sharing. What should I do to give access to my own account?
Report Manager Page Breaks
Feb 12, 2008When viewing reports in Report Manager, I can't keep a consistent view. Some reports are on several pages, requiring the move to the next page, and some just appear as one long report to scroll down through. I cannot find any difference in the reports to indicate what causes that. I had posted this question before, and thought I had found the answer (moving info out of the table header and putting it in a group header) that only worked on one occasion and I still have inconsistent reports. Does anyone have an idea why this is happening?
I don't have page breaks set on any groups in these reports, at least none that I am aware of. I have checked one against the other to see if I can find any difference, but nothing as yet.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Report Manager Upload Html-page With &&<img&&>

I have uploaded a html-page to the Report Manager, the html-page has a img-tag with a src="Picture1.png" in it. The image is then uploaded to the same folder as the html-page. When I browse the html-page the image is not found, red cross, does anyone know why this happens?

Report Manager Home Page Is Incomplete

First off, forgive the ignorance that I'm sure to display in this post. I'm a total newbie with SRSS and have been using it to follow along with the tutorials offered via the SQL Express website. I'm using it strictly for learning on my local machine for the time being.
All had been working well with Reporting Services until I upgraded Vista Ultimate 64-bit (which was running in free 30-day trial unactivated Evaluation mode) sideways to Vista Ultimate Upgrade Edition 64-bit Edition. (Sounds confusing, I know.) I also subsequently installed a SQL Server 2k5 critical update which was recommended by Windows Update.
Now when I attempt to access Report Manager via localhost the "Home page" is incomplete, showing only the SSRS "Home" page header. There are no properites, data sources, config options, etc. outside of links for "Home|Help". I am running IE as an Admin and all the Reporting Services Configuration settings are green.
Also, when I attempt to deploy from VS 2005 I now receive the error: "Permissions granted to user 'NT AuthorityNetwork Service' are insufficient ..."
Some of the settings inside the Report Sever Config are as follows:
Windows Service Identity:
Service Acct: NT AuthorityNetwork Service; Built-in Account: Network Service
Web Service Identity:
Asp.net Service Account; NT AuthorityNetwork Service; Report Server and Manager are both using Classic.Net AppPool
I've attempted for hours to weed through Google and this forum but have repeatedly wound up back where I started and more confused than when I started. I would deeply appreciate any help in resolving this matter.
Report Manager Shows A Blank Page

I've installed on my computer all the software required to work with MS SQL RS. I log on this computer using my domain user. and a few days ago i needed to change my password (network policy)
Now, when I open the adress http://localhost/reports on my computer, I can't see the installed reports, neither the configuration page.
What should I do?

I'm getting blank page when I open the Report Manager: I've got a header - "...Reporting... HOME", and then just empty space.
I had it working fine a week ago. Any ideas?

Page Header And Page Footer Not Loading Report Items In The Main Report When Subreport Called?

I am having a main report having two subreports, say M1,S1 and S2 respectively.
The issue is S2 normally tend to go beyond one page, for all pages except first page of the of the subreport I am getting the page header and footer blank,
Actually this is not loading the ReportItems that are used in main report but it shows text boxes containing strings for eg . "My Name" and date functions eg Today()
Any Solution?

Landscape Printing From Report Manager Not Printing All Displayed Columns On Each Page
May 3, 2007I have deployed a report that is configured for landscape printing. It does print in landscape, however, only the first seven columns appear on the first page and the other five columns appear on the next page. Is there a method, like in print preview setup in MS Excel, where we can scale down the print (like to 80%) so all columns appear on each page?

Report Viewer In ASP.NET - Subreport Page 2 Goes Back To Main Report Page 2 On Paging
Nov 22, 2007What we've found is that when you have two reports where one navigates to the other, if you click on the second page of the second report, it takes you to the second page of the original report. If you navigate over to the subreport again and click for the second page, it works appropriately. This is definitely a no-go for production code and this may delay our ship date because I would think this is definitely undesirable.
Conditions:
ASP.NET Report Viewer using Remote Reports
Report that links to another report
Both reports return more than one page
Reporting Services installed
Steps to Reproduce:
Download the source code here.
Follow the directions (near the bottom of the post) to get the project set up.
Run it and click on a link in the first report to go to the second report.
Click the arrow for page 2 of the second report.
Notice how it takes you back to page 2 of the first report (this doesn't happen when you are in preview mode in the Reporting Services project and I don't believe it does this in a smart client application).

In my SSRS report. I have a report which has only one page. In preview it is showing as only 1 page but when I am printing the report. I am getting two printouts with the second page as a blank.. Please help me in printing the page that contains report. Intially I used a Page header, at that it used to print the blank page with a header only. Now as I removed the header it is printing the page without header i.e Blank Page.. So please help me in prinitng a single page that has the report. It is urgent,..

Jan 23, 2008I'm hoping that someone can shed some light on this for me... I'm using SSRS SP2 and I have a basic report using a single list object which, at the moment, should print only two pages based on the results of the underlying query. When previewing the report, it shows the two pages. But when the report is printed or exported, there is a blank page before each report page.
What I've done so far:
1) Verified the properties of the list object and made sure that 'Insert a page break before this list' is not checked
2) Ensured that there are no hidden objects that could be causing this behavior
3) Ensured that the report size + margins are within the boudaries of an standard 8.5x11 paper size
Any suggestions on something that would solve this issue?

A User Group Account Acting Like A Content Manager And Admin On The Report Manager????

A user was created with a limited privilege under the USERS group. Once this user loged in the Report Manager he is acting like an Admin and Content Manager, though he is not given even a browser role.
What do u think that this guy is acting like a Super User evenif he is restricted to a browser role on the Report Manager ????????????

in one of our team projects users whom are members of the reporting services €œcontent manager€? role are not able to get onto the €œsql server€™s reporting services€? properties page of their team project. Instead of that page they receive the following error message:
The permissions granted to user '<UserName>' are insufficient for performing this operation. (rsAccessDenied)
With four eyes we double checked that the users really have the content manager role, we also tried all kinds of role combinations with no success.
The interesting thing is that as soon as they €˜only€™ in the Browser role they have access to that particular page €“ but as expected are unable to administer their team projects reporting services.
The reporting services forum doesn€™t really offer any answers to this problem, neither did goolge nor this forum.
Could anyone explain this behavior to me?
Pls let me know if you need additional information on this.

Â When running the report from within Visual Studio it renders fine. Â There are no errors reported, only a warning related to a pathname I have use to retrieve image data and display on the report.Deployment of the report is error free.When I view the report I briefly get the "Loading" splash window, but then nothing. Â None of the headers or static text is displayed. Â The results window is blank.
The report defaults all the parameter values. Â In trying to debug the issue I have found by reducing the number of parameter values the report will render. Â Once I have all the values added, the report does nothing.Below is the query being used for the report. I'm trying to deploy Reporting Services on an Internet-facing web server using a custom security extension (forms authentication). We will be putting Report Manager on the Web Server outside of the firewall, and Report Server on another machine inside the firewall. When testing the solution in a development environment with Report Manager and Report Server on the same box, the solution works fine.
When testing it using the Internet-facing environment described above, it almost works but there seems to be an issue with the authentication cookie that is generated. Here's what happens:
1. User enters credentials on UILogon.aspx and submits form.
2. In the code-behind, LogonUser() is called through a web service proxy and the authentication cookie is returned successfully. The code used here to set the cookie is the same code used in the Forms Authentication sample that ships with RS2005.
3. The user is redirected to Folder.aspx, and the request hangs for a while, and eventually kicks you back out to UILogon.aspx, as if it lost the authentication cookie. When doing a trace on the HTTP header, the cookie is still there.
Is there anything special I need to do to make the Report Server "see" the cookie when I have Report Manager and Report Server on different machines?
Any help would be much appreciated!

I am unable to launch report builder from the report manager from a client machine. But I am able to launch from the localhost.
Even I am able to launch report builder by clicking reportbuilder.exe on the local machine.
Please help !!
