DB Engine :: DBCC Error In Full Text Internal Table?

Jul 23, 2015

I have a database that has had a full text index at some point in it's history - but no longer does. The database is currently at SQL 2012 compatibility, but it was created on SQL2000. It still appears to have a row in the internal table sys.sysftinds - but some of the column values are NULL, and NULLs are not allowed. The database fails DBCC checks because of this.

Msg 8970, Level 16, State 1, Line 2
Row error: Object ID 25, index ID 1, partition ID xxxx,
alloc unit ID xxxx (type In-row data),
page ID (1:xxxx), row ID 0. Column 'sensitivity' was created NOT NULL, but is NULL in the row.
DBCC results for 'sys.sysftinds'.

There are 1 rows in 1 pages for object "sys.sysftinds".

CHECKTABLE found 0 allocation errors and 1 consistency errors in table 'sys.sysftinds' (object ID 25).

repair_allow_data_loss is the minimum repair level for the errors found by DBCC CHECKTABLE (xxxx.sys.sysftinds).

DBCC execution completed. If DBCC printed error messages, contact your system administrator.

Running DBCC with repair_allow_data_loss has not worked.

Error Installing Full-text Search Engine

Dec 19, 2006

Hi, though i've been using sql server 2000 developer edition for awhile, I guess i overlooked the fact that the full-text search tool was never installed and i never needed it until now. Anyway, tried installing it today and get this error:

Installation of Microsoft Full-Text Search Engine Package Failed (-2147220991) 0x80040201
An event was unable to invoke any of the subsribers

I have no idea what this means - can you help me to get this installed correctly? I did just install service pack 4, and i tried reinstalling the components, tried rebuilding the registery of the current instance, and even tried creating a new instance with hopes that the new instance would install the full-text component - which it did not.

Any suggestions? Maybe I have to unistall the entire Software and reinstall it? Would I lose any of my data in doing this? I should note that all other tools seem to function fine.

Thanks ahead!

SQL Tools :: DBCC CHECKDB Error / Internal Database Snapshot Cannot Be Created

Aug 22, 2013

We recently migrated our production server from SQL 2005 (Standard) on Win2003(32-bit) to SQL2012 (Standard; v11.0.3000) on Win2008-R2(64bit). Single-server Dell R510 with 1.2TB storage. Everything went smoothly; the only nagging issue remaining is failure of our maintenance jobs. I tracked the issue down to failure of DBCC CHECKDB.  Specifically, the error is:Executed as user: NT SERVICESQLSERVERAGENT. The database could not be exclusively locked to perform the operation. [SQLSTATE 42000] (Error 5030) Check statement aborted. The database could not be checked as a database snapshot could not be created and the database or table could not be lockedI have Googled this issue and read extensively. For instance, informative blogs (albeit dated) such as these by Paul Randal (Managing

CheckDB by default takes an internal DB snapshot to get the consistent, point-in-time view of the DB that it needs. If that snapshot creation fails, then it will try to get an exclusive database lock before proceeding (same as if you had executed DBCC CHECKDB WITH TABLOCK). The root problem is not that the lock could not be obtained, it's that the internal database snapshot could not be created. msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms188796.aspx details the specific situations when an internal database snapshot is not created and table locking is attempted.

 I have verified the SQLSERVERAGENT service account has full permissions on the SQLDATA directory where the databases reside and has full permissions on each database within the directory. Just for giggles, I created a job (run as SQLSERVERAGENT) that creates and then deletes a text file in the SQLDATA directory.  It runs fine.

Also testedI get the snapshot creation error when manually running DBCC CHECKDB against any of our databases and when executing under a variety of administrator accounts that are members of the SQL sysadmin role and the Domain Admins security group (the Domain Admins is a member of the local Administrators group that has full permissions on all SQL directories/folders).

Additionally, the databases in question are small (200MB to 6GB) and the disk has plenty of elbow room (978GB free on 1.22TB RAID5 array) to create the internal database snapshots. CHECKDB doesn't surface an error message that is detailed enough to determine the precise cause of the error. Any example successfully running DBCC CHECKDB on the SQL2012 (Standard) on a Win2008 R2 (64-bit) server.

SQL 2012 :: Full Text Engine Service In Windows Clustered Environments

May 27, 2014

In SQL Server 2005, the SQL Server full text engine (i.e., Microsoft Full Text Filter Daemon Launcher windows service) was installed as a Generic Service cluster resource in a Windows clustered environment.

However, in SQL Server 2012, the full text engine is not appearing as a "resource" within "Failover Cluster Manager" after installation. Do we need to manually configure the full text engine as a Failover Cluster Manager "resource" for SQL 2012? Or is this not necessary? If it needs to be configured, how do you go about doing it (i.e., what resource dependencies would you setup, etc.)

Internal Error / Internal Catalog Exception

May 11, 2007

Hi,

I've read already every thread in this forum regarding this topic with no results.

SQLServer and the corresponding services are at actual update level. The reporting services worked for 4 months without this problem. Suddenly, most of the time all reports return an internal error (it is like 70-30 for internal error) not depending which render format is used.

The system logs (eventlog, iis) show no errors. The ExecutionLog of RS show rsInternalError.

Looking in the log files in RS log directory, there is following stacktrace:

As it seems, after an iisreset the first rendering always works perfect. HD space is enough.

Any ideas?

Full-Text Indexing Error

Apr 4, 2008

Trying to make a full-text table of a few tables in SQL server 2000 using the SQL Server Managment Studio. I am getting the following error when I then try to view the columns using the table. The column it is having a problem with is just a varchar text column. I have tried a few different tables and each time it has a problem with one of the columns. It does not give me an error when creating the full-text table. Anyone have any information on this?
 I check on a full text table I made a while ago and it is giving me the same error but searches on it seem to be working, but cannot tell if it is using the one column it is having an issue with.

Property TypeColumnName is not available for FullTextIndexColumn '[MyColumnName]'.    This property may not exist for this object, or may not be retrievable due    to insufficient access rights.  (Microsoft.SqlServer.Smo)

Error During Full-text Population

Feb 16, 2007

I'm using Full-text in various databases on my servers (SQL2005 on W2K3). On a few databases the Full-text population ends with the error:

'Error '0x80030050' occurred during full-text index population for table or indexed view '[database].[dbo].[table]' (table or indexed view ID '1714105147', database ID '9'), full-text key value 0x00015EE1. Failed to index the row.'

The next log-line lets me know the name of the dll that caused the problem:

The component 'offfilt.dll' reported error while indexing. Component path 'C:WINDOWSsystem32offfilt.dll'.

There's one solution I read about, but that one is not the case here. That sollution states that this problem occurs when de datatype is not the same as the filetype (e.g. datatype is pdf, documenttype is doc).

What can be the problem here?

Thanks.

Full Text Index Error

Feb 11, 2008

Hi,

I build some t-sql code to check if full text is installed on the sql server. If not, some sql statements must be not executed. Here is my code:

if (select serverproperty('IsFullTextInstalled')) = 1

Begin

EXEC sp_fulltext_database 'enable'

CREATE FULLTEXT CATALOG [...] WITH ACCENT_SENSITIVITY = OFF AS DEFAULT

CREATE FULLTEXT INDEX ON dbo.Test (Name LANGUAGE 0, Description LANGUAGE 0) KEY INDEX IX_Test_1 ON [...] WITH CHANGE_TRACKING AUTO
ALTER FULLTEXT INDEX ON dbo.Test ENABLE

End

Statement 1 and 2 is not executed, but for statement 3 the server throws the following error:
Full-Text Search is not installed, or a full-text component cannot be loaded.

I don't know why the server tries to execute statement 3, because it is in an if statement.

Any help is welcome.

DB Engine :: Does Logon Trigger Create Internal Temporary Objects

Jun 4, 2015

I create a logon trigger on a sql server 2008 r2 instance,the trigger is very simple,like this:

CREATE TRIGGER tg_login
ON ALL SERVER
FOR LOGON
AS
IF ORIGINAL_LOGIN() IN('sa') AND HOST_NAME()='TestHost1'

[Code] ...

I use master.dbo.LoginRecord  table to record the bad logon. When the trigger is working ,latches produced sometimes,wait type is PAGELATCH_UP  and wait resource is 2:1:3. At this time, a large number of logon failed ,error message is  "Logon failed for login 'login name' due to trigger execution."

I think  logon trigger create internal temporary objects maybe,it is right?

Full Text Search Error Message?

Jul 27, 2001

I am pulling my hair out trying to resolve this issue. I have placed several messages on different message boards and have not received any response to this issue. Can anyone here please help me?

I have installed 'full text index' on a server, initialized it and created a job to full text two fields in a table. I can see that the last refresh was a day ago. I am calling a stored procedure: (the server is version 7 of SQL Server with sp3)

CREATE PROCEDURE [SearchFaq]
@pSearchString varchar(200)

AS

SELECTfaqID, FaqQuestion, FaqText, Status, InputDate
FROMfaqs
WHEREContains(*, @pSearchString) and Status = 1

All I get is this error message, whether I call this from an asp page or run it directly from query analyzer:

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server error '80040e14'
Search on full-text catalog 'etr_fts' for database ID 10, table ID 1429580131 with search condition 'faq' failed with unknown result (324bd27c).

Hello everybody,

I have installed SQLServer 2005 for take advantage of full text seach features.

When I start full population, there are some rows that cause error and not are indexed.

I see the log in C:ProgrammiMicrosoft SQL ServerMSSQL.1MSSQLLOGSQLFT0000700005.LOG. In this file there are seven rows that have error and for everyone a line that say:

"Error '0x8004fd01: The IFilter::Init() function call failed.' ... full-text key value 0x495532303045594154504B55. Attempt will be made to reindex it. The component 'pdffilt.dll' reported error while indexing. Component path 'C:ProgrammiFoxit SoftwareFoxit PDF IFilterpdffilt.dll'."

With different full-text key value for every line.

My question is:

1) Start from a full-text key (ie. 0x495532303045594154504B55), how I arrive to the record in the source table for understand which is the problem?Otherwise how can I examine the problem if I don't know the row that cause the error?

2) What is the error 0x8004fd01?

3) Could be that the PDF filter of Foxit is better than Adobe? With Adobe filter (version 6) my full pupulation is endless!

SQL Search :: Full Text Indexing Returning Error

Oct 28, 2015

We have an iFilter to extract text on emails and their attached files. I have encountered 5 emails that receive the following error code, but I cannot find anything on the error code: Error '0x80fc7586' occurred during full-text index population for table or indexed view '[RIA_Unindexed].[dbo].[Emails]' (table or indexed view ID '485576768', database ID '31'), full-text key value 'E11264A2-A17D-E511-80E0-005056B240B1'. Attempt will be made to reindex it.After a number of retry attempts they will fail to index.what does error code  '0x80fc7586' refer to, I have not found it.

Since the first two bytes of the error code are the severity and facility reporting the error, I stripped off that information and looked for error 0x7586 or 30086. That error reported "Too Many products".Theses emails being indexed contain attachments with large attachments that then the attachment chunks are being called for from the fdhost may result in too many chunk segments, or more likely there are some repeating words in the extracts like 4 million occurrences so right now I am testing that condition. To see if the word breaker is throwing the error.

DB Engine :: DB Autogrowth Turned On In Secondary Data File Still 0% Internal Free Space

Oct 30, 2015

Today we received an issue on an application database on internal free space on the DB is 0% that was designed with as below

name    fileid    filename    filegroup    size    maxsize    growth    usage
XX    1    I:DataMSSQL.1MSSQLDataNew XX.mdf    PRIMARY    68140032 KB    Unlimited    0 KB    data only

XX_5    6    I:DataMSSQL.1MSSQLDataNew XX_5.ndf    PRIMARY    19591168 KB    Unlimited    204800 KB    data only

2 of the secondary data files had its autogrowth enabled to unrestricted with 200MB and 3 of the data files including primary had its Autogowth turned OFF. Application use is complaining that there is no internal freespace on the DB.

What fails to understand us is that when the Auto growth was already TURNED OFF on 3 data files ( 1 primary and 2 secondary ) still why was the application trying to increase the space on the .mdf and .ndf files; as well when the Autogrowth is TURNED ON on 2 of the secondary data files, why was the DB not able to expand these file groups when the autogrowth is already turned off on 3 of its  other files.

What more data i need to ensure i submit an analysis to this.

Can't Create A Full-text Index Or Catalogue On My Sql Table.

Sep 28, 2006

I am trying to run an SELECT statement with a CONTAINS statement from a aspx.net solution built using Visual Web Developer 2005 express edition. When I try to run the thing it throws an error saying

"Cannot use a CONTAINS or FREETEXT predicate on table or indexed view 'JournalArticle' because it is not full-text indexed.".

I don't have access to the SQL Express server, I interface through Server Management Studio Express. There is an option to create a full-text index from the menu, but it is greyed out, presumably because there is no full-text catalogue. This is my real question, How do I create a full-text catalogue using Server Management Studio Express? The help function only provides examples of sql code, which I assume must be performed using sql server (which I don't have access to). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Full Text Index For AdventureWorks Document Table

May 29, 2006

I am working the Books Online documentation for the full-text search feature of SQL Server 2005 Express Advanced and having a problem following the instructions.

I made sure to choose the "Full Text Search" option during installation of VB 2005 Express Advanced.

I downloaded, installed, and attached the AdventureWorks database successfully.

I checked to ensure that the database was enabled for full-text search, but could not follow the instructions for indexing a table within the database. Here are the instructions from Books Online:
To enable a table for full-text indexing

Expand the server group, expand Databases, expand User Databases, and expand the database that contains the table you want to enable for full-text indexing.

Right-click the table that you want to enable for full-text indexing.

Select Full-Text index, and then click Enable Full-Text indexing.

Another document notes:

To create a full-text index on a table, the table must have a single, unique not null column. For example, consider a full-text index for the Document table in Adventure Works in which the DocumentID column is the primary key column.

When I right-click the Document table (Production.Document) in the AdventureWorks database, there is no option to "Select Full-Text Index" or "Enable Full Text indexing".

Am I missing something here?

How do I get the the table indexed for full text search?

Creating Full-text Indexes On A Table In A Publication

Sep 13, 2006

I have a table that is in a one way transactional publication. I need to create a full-text catalog on this table and have that catalog exist on the subscriber as well. I understand simply creating a FTC for an object in a publication will not cause that FTC to be replicated to the subscribers. I have scripted out the command and tried to use sp_addscriptexec to push it to the subscriber. When I do this, I get the following error:

Last 183 characters in 'sqlcmd' output buffer: Changed database context to 'database'.
Msg 574, Level 16, State 1, Server SQLSERVER, Line 2
CREATE FULLTEXT CATALOG statement cannot be used inside a user transaction.

Also, when this script is run directly from the subscriber, it works fine (but since the subscriber is our production machine, I'd prefer to not have to do it that way). I believe I can reinitialize the publication and have the FTC pushed to the subscriber, but this is not ideal either, since some of our databases can be very large and take a long time to initialize.

Is there a better way to accomplishing this other then connecting directly to the subscriber and running the script or by reinitializing the publication? Thanks for your help!

Error: SQL Server Failed To Communicate With Full-Text Service

Apr 9, 2007

Hello,
I've enabled full-text indexing on one of my tables, and the following query used to work:
SELECT *
FROM TempAttachment
WHERE CONTAINS(attachment, 'text')

However, now I get the following error:
Msg 9955, Level 16, State 1, Line 1
SQL server failed to communicate with Full-Text Service (msftesql). The system administrator must make sure that same service account is used for both services and the service account has the permission to auto start the full-text service.

I've checked the configuration and verified that both accounts are the same. I've restarted the services, and tried rebooting, and still no luck. I did a search on this error, and found this page from MSDN, which doesn't help me much: http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa337365.aspx.

Has anybody come across this before? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Full-Text Search Gets Syntax Error And Kills The Transaction

Oct 26, 2006

I am having problems with syntax errors being generated from the search clause of a full-text search. When the syntax error is raised, the batch and transaction are stopped. Placing the search within a SQL Try/Catch allows the batch to continue, but the transaction is uncommitable.

I need to trap and handle the full-text search syntax error then control the commit or rollback of the transaction based on other transactions.

Below is a simplified version of the type of logic I am working with. The XACT_STATE goes to -1 because of the syntax error generated by the full-text search. This forces a rollback of the whole transaction.

Declare @sSearch NVarChar(50)
/* @sSearch is passed by a web page and could come back empty or with an invalid Full-Text search clause*/

Begin Transaction
Begin Try
Print XACT_STATE()
Select *
/*The table 'KnowledgeBase' is a table with a populated Full-Text Search*/
From Containstable(KnowledgeBase,*,@sSearch)
End Try
Begin Catch
Print XACT_STATE()
Print 'Number- ' + Convert(VarChar,ERROR_NUMBER()) + ', ' +
'Severity- ' + Convert(VarChar,ERROR_SEVERITY()) + ', ' +
'State- ' + Convert(VarChar,ERROR_STATE()) + ', ' +
'Message- "' + ERROR_MESSAGE() + '"'
End Catch

/*Some other logic would be here*/

If I remove the contains() part from the SQL Stored Procedure, it stills runs. So, in other words, suddenly contains() started making the query crash.

I'm running SQL Server 2008 R2.

[MSSQL] Blob-upload In Table With Full Text Index Goes Slow

Oct 31, 2005

i have a MSSQL 2000 database with about 30 tables in it. On one of those tables i've defined an full text index on an image field. In this table are around 500 records with binary files.

it functioned well for a time but now when i try to upload a file into the table this goes extremely slow (300 KB takes over 3 minutes).

i tried disabling "change tracking" but this didn't help a thing

adding blobs to other tables (without fulltext index on it) still goes fast.

what could be a reason that the uploading goes so slow??
