Oct 13, 2015Due to one Event tracing windows continuous error, our error log size increasing and also causing disk space issue.
Is there any possibility to avoid only error in sql log?

I am having a crystal report using datastored in a dataset. When I select one of items in a dropdownlist, it gives me this error message. Note that I used that code before in another web page using a different crystal report and a different dataSet and it worked successfully, but this time it doesn't work....anyone can tell me what causes this error and how to solve it???
NOTE: I am using a vb code behind in my .aspx page

When Both fields have 0 vlaues, it gives a error massege. How do I avoid this?

How Can I Avoid That The OLEDB Provider Intercepts The Error?

I wish that when an error occurs (such as when a contraint is violated or trying to insert NULL in a not-null column) the error message is stored on an output parameter and returned to the client, without the error being raised by the OLEDB Provider.
How can I do that?

Jun 23, 2015I have a source sql 2005 with the database collation SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS and destination with sql 2012 with the same collation.
But the SQL server llvel collation is different, sql 2005 uses Latin1_General_CI_AI and sql 2012 uses "SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS"
Now when i load the data from 2005 for one table to sql 2012 i could see special characters in one column. And i dont see that in the source database. Is there a way to avoid that or is it something we need to manually fix.

Sep 21, 2007I have successfully converted a MSVS 2005 Winforms Application into the MSVS 2008 beta 2. I am however having trouble getting the winmobile data tables to fill. The ODBC Paradox tables fill fine. When I converted the application I had to re create the win mobile datasource for the project. So I used the datasource wizard in 2008, it opened the winmobile5 database and told me that I would need to convert the database to 3.5. I let it overwrite the existing database and it created a new .xsd file for me for the project. When I try to load data into the database tables

I have run Compact but not repair, and still get the same error.
1. What could be left in the project that ismaking it expect to open the 3.0 database instead of the 3.5 that was converted in the datasource wizard?(If I substitute an older database file I get the native error 25010 Invalid File Name. Check the database filename. )
2. Is there a way after you convert a project to then add a datasource to the project that would use the same xsd file and datasetDesigner.cs from before the conversion ?

Apr 25, 2006I have been successfully using SQL Server 2005 developer
edition for a couple of months now. However,
when I started Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio this morning I could not
connect to the Database Engine? (Im using Windows Authentication). I can still connect with the Integration
Services? and Analysis Services? on the same server. The server running on my local machine, so
there shouldnt be any problems with the network. I am also able to connect with it through
ODBC, it just seems to be the Server Management Studio which cant connect, and it only has
problems with the Database Engine.? Any

Mar 20, 2001I am running SQL 7.0 with Access 97 as a front end. I am having a problem linking one of the tables with an odbc connection. When I try to link the table, it gives me the error :
"The database engine can't find <name of table>. Make sure it is a valid parameter or alias name, that it doesn't include invalid characters or punctuation, and that the name isn't too long."
I have tried renaming the table, and it then will allow the connection, but if I rename it back to the original name, it doesn't work again. The table name is "Invoice_Line_Item". Changing the name permanently is not an option.
Has anyone else run across this problem, or know of a fix for it.

Database Engine Tuning Advisor Error
Jul 3, 2006I have a very irritating error with Database Engine Tuning Advisor. While processing traces from Sql Profiler I keep getting trace log full of syntax error of most of queries - some of them very simple and ALL of them perfectly correct ( I check them separatly in QueryAnaliser ) - program gives recomendtation when I enter queries one by one - in that case the syntax is correct for Database Engine Tuning Advisor, but I just can't imagine why quries given to analysis in the set aren't correct? I dont' want to enter trace query by query (while I have thousends of them) !
It all seem like a Database Engine Tuning Advisor bug, any ideas about this problem?

DB Engine :: Identifying Cause Of Non Yielding Scheduler Error

Error Installing Full-text Search Engine
Dec 19, 2006Hi, though i've been using sql server 2000 developer edition for awhile, I guess i overlooked the fact that the full-text search tool was never installed and i never needed it until now. Anyway, tried installing it today and get this error:

An event was unable to invoke any of the subsribers
I have no idea what this means - can you help me to get this installed correctly? I did just install service pack 4, and i tried reinstalling the components, tried rebuilding the registery of the current instance, and even tried creating a new instance with hopes that the new instance would install the full-text component - which it did not.
Any suggestions? Maybe I have to unistall the entire Software and reinstall it? Would I lose any of my data in doing this? I should note that all other tools seem to function fine.

I understand from some threads here that it is an issue related to contacting the AD. In event viewer it is not clear what is casuing this. I have WSS databases, Biztalk server databases.....and some other user databases. NO home made applications contact sql server.
What is the best route to follow to see who is not being able sometimes and why contacting the AD. I read the thread at URL.... but it is related to express 2005 and it does not apply to my case.

There are certain errors that does not come during compilation and it shows during execution because of late-binding concept implemented in SQL Server from 7.0 version.
The problem is when Tables are not there, SPs are created. And there is no option where we can set like 'Validate object resolution during compilation"
There are lot of SPs that are in invalid status because the tables are really not there and SP needs to be modified to reflect the correct table name. In Oracle, if I have to find the list of objects that are in invalid state (because of object resolution problems), it was possible. How do I do it in SQL?
I need a listing of all objects in my database that is in invalid state. Searched in NET but there seems to be no supporting tool also that lists invalid objects.
Pl let me know whether there exists a way by which I can get to know the invalid object lists in my SQL 2005 database

Jul 23, 2015I have a database that has had a full text index at some point in it's history - but no longer does. The database is currently at SQL 2012 compatibility, but it was created on SQL2000. It still appears to have a row in the internal table sys.sysftinds - but some of the column values are NULL, and NULLs are not allowed. The database fails DBCC checks because of this.

DBCC execution completed. If DBCC printed error messages, contact your system administrator.
Running DBCC with repair_allow_data_loss has not worked.
Error 29503 - SQL Server 2005 DB Engine Install Fails
Nov 16, 2005Hi, I've just tried to install SQL Server 2005 Standard and I'm getting an error that I can't find any information on. In the log, I find Error 29503. A message after it indicates that it couldn't start the server.
