DBA Question: Red Gate Software???
May 30, 2006
I've been looking at using Red Gate's SQL backup pro for two reasons: compressed back up files, and it's log shipping functionality with SQL standard edition. Anybody have any feedback on it, likes, dislikes, etc.?
Thanks,
Pete

Does anyone happen to know if the folks at Red-Gate used a public SDKto create the log explorer, or did they fork over money to microsoft toget a ISV licensed SDK?I'm looking into making a similar product that would be open source, and I'm trying to figure out what they used to translate entries in thelog to something that is readable by the human eye.Thanks.....

First, I know nothing about PLC's, but I was wondering is there a wayto extract data from a SQL database file, feed that to a PLC is somemanner, and then have the PLC trigger a diverter gate based on thevalue in the table exceeding a certain value, to divert parts toanother location.Am I off base, or is there something out there that will allow or helpme to do this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Currently evaluating Red Gate SQL tools targetting SQL Server 2005 Express.
Specifically
- SQL Compare
- SQL Packager
- Dependency Tracker
This is the first tool of this kind that I've evaluated and must say I'm impressed. It looks like it will save me hours of writing scripts.
Any of you guys have any thoughts, recommendations, etc to share? Alternate tools?
Most appreciated in advance, thanks.
