DTSRun Causes The Memory Could Not Be Read Application Error

Hi,
I've got this dts package in sql server 2000 sp4 that has several
transformation tasks with an oracle database (10g) as the destination.
The package executes successfully when run through the dts designer but
when run using dtsrun, I get the following error at the completion of
all tasks in the dts package. The data inserts into the oracle database
but i always get this Application error
The Instruction at "0x7c8327f9" referenced memory at "Oxffffffff". The
memory could not be "read"
Does anyone know how I can fix this?

Hi,
I am trying to execute a SSIS package from a client through BIDS, but when I start BIDS, I am getting the error -
SqlWb.exe : Application error - The instruction at "0X77D...." referenced memory at "0X00000002". The memory could bot be "read".
Click on OK to terminate the program.
Click on CANCEL to terminate the program.
Please help.
Other information:
I have tried running the package on the server and it executes properly. I really dont know why this is a problem with the SQL Server clients alone. I have also tried googling around and could not find any resolution. Can anyone point me to the right direction please!!!

at run time i have an exception said :
cann't find the library with the name sqlceme.dll as i remember ,

Hi,
I am back with one more problem..
I have created few reports using SSRS 2005. I am using Oracle database in Data Source to fetch my data. It is working fine and showing me report correctly. But after running the report 8 to 10 times, it starts giving me Memory error. To get rid of that, I need to recycle (stop-start) ReportingService from IIS.
I am exactly getting following error...
Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt.
I am not getting the actual problem, why is it giving memory error only after running few times? Please let me know if anyone facing same problem or knowing the solution for the problem.

I'm trying to import data from a Sybase ASE 12.0 database called "OurTestDatabase" into MS SQL Server 2005. I started SSIS Wizard and indicated "Sybase ASE OLEDB Provider" as a source and SQL Native Client as the target. I'm gettign the following error message:

Strange one. I have copied my working web-site to the production server and get this message.
Tried copying new set of database files and reset the server to ensure no applications could be accessing the database files. Still get the same error.
Works fine on my Visual Studio VWD Express version.

Hello, this is an error I've gotten today when trying to expand system tables such as master and msdb in Enterprise Manger:
The instruction at "ox418561c4" rferenced memory at "00x00000034".
The memory could not be read.
I have no clue what it means. I did delete about 45 mg of .TRN files from a log directory on the server. Could it be the result? What's my next step?

I have created a very simple DTS package to transfer data from one database to another on the same server. I am able to successfully execute the package from DTS. But if i try to schedule the package and run it from SQL agent it fails. The job that is created by the SQL agent appears as follows -

Hello!
Here's a problem I'm having with user's laptop.
I installed SQL Server 7.0 client tools long time ago so she was able to use dtsrun utility.
Recently we moved our production database to the new server.
The difference between new server and old one is SP.
The old server had SP1 for MSSQL Server 7.0 and new server has SP2.
The DTS packages were copied from old server to new one and recreated accordingly.
Then when user was trying to run dtsrun utility she was getting error "Parameter is incorrect".
Then I applied SP2 to her SQL installation.
After that we've got different error message "Can not create COM server to load DTS package.
Class not registered".
I tried to register following files dtsffile.dll,dtspkg.dll,dtspump.dll,axscphst.dll using regsvr32 but I coudn't-I was getting errors.
Then I reinstall SQL client tools and applied SP2 again-still same error about COM server.
Any ideas what else can be done or changed to fix it?

P.S.this user has another computer.
Applying SP2 to her SQL client installation fixed "Incorrect parameter" error and dtsrun works fine on this machine.

I have a DTS Package that when I run from within the MMC it runs fine but when I schedule the job from the DTS design window or create a new job via SQL Agent and use dtsrun.exe with the correct parameters I get the following error:
DTSRun: Loading . . . Error -2147008511 (80074001) Provider Error: 0 (0)
Error String: Not implemented
Dts Owner is sa
Sa is also listed as owner for the job.
I tried changing the provider to ODBC for SQL Server since error message indicated a provider error and that did not work.
I searched Technet for 4001, provider error, dtsrun and got nothing relative. It would seem like a rights issue but SQL Agent Logs on as a local administrator for the SQL box which is also the PDC.
Any insight?

Hello!
MSSQL Server 7.0 SP2
One of my users is running DTS packages on her computer using dtsrun utility.
I installed SQL client tools so she can run dtsrun utility.
It was working fine until we moved production database to the new server.
Local DTS packages were saved to the new server and recreated accordingly.
Now when she is running DTS packages in MSDOS using dtsrun she's getting error message "Can not create COM server to load DTS package. Class not registered".
Before this message she was getting different error "Paremeter is incorrect"
Then I applied SP2 to her client sql tools.Because new SQL Server has SP2.
After that we've got new message about COM server.
But dtsrun works on another client machine.
Any ideas what's going on?

What should be done in order to fix it.
I know it's a permission issue.
DTS packages are saved as local packages on the server.

Getting this message when running a dtsrun step in a scheduled job;

I have a dts package scheduled to run hourly as job since recent November. (Win2000 server, MSSQL2000 standard)
Its been running fine, except last few days, SQL Agent shows it attempted to run it but fails

Error creating datafile mapping: The volume for a file has been externally altered so that the opened file is no longer valid.
I don't think its SQL Agent as its scheduling is running other jobs fine(backup)
The DTS package runs fine manually.
Such i suspect dtsrun.exe itself. But where do i go from here?

HiWe're using SqlServer 2000.I want to run a DTS using the DTSRUN command.The commmand is inside a ".bat" file which my application is runningfrom an SQL client.No matter how I run it from the client it fails giving me the message:[ConnectionOpen (Connect()).]SQL Server does not exist or access deniedI've tried to run it from the client from the application, from thecommand prompt and it fails.I went into enterprise on the client and tried to run the DTS fromthere. The run failed already on the 1st step which is a call to astored procedure, also giving me the same message. This really stuck meas wierd because in enterprise I'm accessing the server successfully sowhy the above messgae. The shotshot agent is generating a snapshot, I got the error ' Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt'. Then, the agent failed. I tried to restart the agent and generate a snapshot again. This time, it run normally. So far, I got this error twice since the replication launched. Kindly advise. Thanks a lot.

I am trying to implement a read only replica to move much of the data read for an application to the secondary replica. Initially I had the the primary and secondary set to asynchronous commit. QA brought up an issue with creating entities from the application because after the creation of an entity the application turns around and repopulates the entire aggregate object. Well it seems that the application was reading the secondary replica before the data had been committed. Although I understand the issues that synchronous commits can cause, I went ahead and made the change as I expected it to fix the issue. After changing the primary replica to synchronous we still had the error, so I also changed the secondary although that makes no since, but the issue remains.

My application supports a single database connection and in the app console I can produce reports. If I include the app database in an AlwaysOn availability group with a read-intent replica will SQL automatically route the “selects” to that second instance thus offloading my application’s reporting activities or I need a separate db connection (maybe from a reporting app or cli) with a connection specifying read-only intent?

Hi all, I was just wonder what the normal memory consumption is when just simply making a connection to a database. I have an application that starts, and when it connects the to a database, it eats up around a 1.5 MB, yes I keep the connection open for the life of the application (as its in a kinda global class, and when database reads/writes are performed I just get the open connection object) - I don't run any queries against the database here, just connect.
Is this a normal amount of memory to consume on a simple connection to a database?

I would like to ask if there will be a write and concurrency issue if i would create an online application with just one user connecting to the database, just like most open source php/mysql that can be downloaded
i.e
Setup 1. I will grant a single user that will connect to a database and will be set to a config.inc.php file and then create a table users (userid, username, password) and this table will be used for the application authentication and access control.
Setup 2. or is it much better to grant users that will connect to the database and have the table users for access control of the application?
to further illustrate my query:
Setup 1 would be:

user a@ipadd --> db1 --> userid john --> myOnlineApp

When we try to run aggregation or purge queries on some tables
we are getting following message:
" error [I/O error (bad page ID) detected during read at offset 0x000001ad65a000 in file 'E:MSSQL2KDataGenesys_DataMartGenesys_Datamart.mdf '. Severity 24, State 2, Procedure 'PWMGENESYSDB1 n u! ll', Line 1]"
After this we executed DBCC CHECKDB. Attaching the output obtained after executing this command, to fix these errors we executed DBCC repair_allow_data_loss. I am attaching output for this also. Pls go thru the logs and pls let me know what could be the problem and how it can be addressed.

hi ,
i am creating a service broker application between two different instance.when i am initiating a dialog from the source my message remain in the sys.transmission_queue.but its transmission_status column is empty.
i attached the profiler with both source and target by including all the service broker event.
in my source profiler i am getting the error like -- Connection attempt failed with error: '10061(No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.)'. with event Broker:connection
and in the target profiler error is --This message could not be delivered because the security context could not be retrieved. with event Broker:Message Undelivarible.
i have checked my port also using telnet with remotely and localy both working fine. i am using port no. 4001
and i have mentioned the port no. in the address of the route.
bt still getiing the error.

I recently installed SQL Server 2005 Enterprise on a machine running Server 2003. I have successfully configured Reporting Services (see below for summary of settings)
- Used the defaults for the Repor tServer and Report Manager Virtual Directories
- Windows Service Identity set to domain user. The domain user is part of the administrator group on the machine and has sysadmin rights to the database
- Web Service Identity set to NT AuthorityNetworkService
When I open http://localhost/reports/, I get the following error:

Hello all!
I have been researching this problem on the net. I have everything setup, here is the wierd part. I did a test windows application, and that application connects into my database just fine. I have SQL DEV 2005, everything is on my laptop. I have websites that I have wrote that connects fine.
I have application that give me this error. Now the only thing is that I wrote this windows app on a diffrent machine, with a diffrent SQL 2005 server. I had to move everything on my laptop, so I can finish on site at the clients place. So I grabbed the project, copied it over, and opened it on my laptop. No problems. I created a new database, scripted everything from the other server, and ran those scripts on my laptop to create the tables, SP etc.
Now my test application I created on my laptop, I can connect to the databse just fine with this string.

I can also connect to the database that I brought over from the other server. Could there be somthing with the Datasets, or something like that?
Any Thoughts?

Hi all!
This is my first time to use SQL Server with VB, so if I've left out any relevant information, please let me know.
Here's my problem: When I try to execute the RDO AddNew method, I get an error -- "The Resultset is Read Only." When I click on the debug option, the code has stopped at the .addnew line.
When I connect to the SQL database, I use this code:
Set gcnPRP = rdoEnvironments(0).OpenConnection( _
dsName:="PropertyControl", _
Prompt:=rdDriverNoPrompt, _
Connect:="uid=pgmr;pwd=blue;driver={SQL Server];" & _
"server =nt3,database=testpropcontdb;")
and:
Set grsPRP = gcnPRP.OpenResultset(gstrSQL, rdOpenDynamic, rdConcurRowVer, rdExecDirect)
I would really appreciate a gentle nudge in the right direction, even if it's only a recommendation for further reading I could do.
