Data Access :: Query On View To Get A Single Batched Data
Nov 25, 2015
I have a view that give me the data of all the batched. Now I am using a query on view to get a single batched data. when I am using direct query it was taking 0 sec but when I am using Through view "select * from myView where batched=2" then its taking 30 mnt.
I want to create a view to get records from multiple tables. I have a UserID in all the tables. When I pass UserID to view it should get records from multiple tables. I have a table
UserInfo with as data as UserID=1, FName = John, LName=Abraham and Industry = 2. I have a Industry table with data as ID=1 and Name= Sports, ID =2 and Name= Film.
When I query view where UserID=1 it should return record as
I recieve duplicate customer bill data which I want to consolidate using SQL query. How to summarize data using single query...both Qty and Price. If either one of price or qty is -ve then both should be -ve.
I have two tables, one a data table, the other a product table. I want to perform a join on the two tables with values distributed into columns based on the value in the month field.
I have two databases DB1 and DB2 DB1 has a source table named 'Source' I have created a login 'Test_user' in DB2 with Public access. I have also created a view named 'Test_view' in DB2 which references data from DB1.dbo.Source
I have two databases DB1 and DB2 DB1 has a source table named 'Source' I have created a login 'Test_user' in DB2 with Public access. I have also created a view named 'Test_view' in DB2 which references data from DB1.dbo.Source
I am try to transfer some tables data from one database server into another database server. I create a package in SSIS, and I use a variable to pass each table name. In Data flow, I use a OLEDB Source, but I cannot set the Data access mode to Table name or view name variable. Ever time, I will get this following error info "===================================
Error at Data Flow Task [OLE DB Source [31]]: A destination table name has not been provided.
(Microsoft Visual Studio)

Some one can tell me what is the reason, or give me some examples.
Hi I have a table named UserMaster having a column Sex for male and female.Sex MaleMaleFemaleFemaleFemale I want to replace all Male with Female and all Female with Male with a single query. Can any one please help me out
This a microsoft SQL 2000 server. I have a DB with mutliple tables that have a column called "Date_stamp", which is used as a primary ID. Here is my problem: Some of tables have a bad datetime entry for the "Date_stamp". The bad entry is '2008-3-18". I need to delete this entry from every single table that has a name similary to 'Elect_Sub%Daily'.
I know how to get the user table names from the DB as follows:
SELECT name FROM dbo.sysobjects WHERE xtype = 'U' and name like 'Elect_Sub%Daily'
What I need to do is have a query that will basically scroll through the tables name produced by the above query and search and delete the entries that read '2008-3-18".
delete from tableName where Date_Stamp = '2008-3-18'
DECLARE @ServerCIName varchar(5000) SELECT * FROMÂ dbo.INC WHERE Status in ('Assigned','In Progress','Pending') and Description like '%' + (Select * from SplitDelimiterString(@ServerName,',')) + '%' and (select DATEADD(dd, DATEDIFF(dd, 0, (Submit_Date)), 0)) = (select DATEADD(dd, DATEDIFF(dd, 0, getdate()), 0)) In place of "and Description like '%' + (Select * from SplitDelimiterString(@ServerName,',')) + '%' ", if I use "and Description like '%' + @ServerName + '%' " and pass a single value, it works.
But @ServerName contains multiple values and it is dynamic (not constant).
I'm trying to re-write my database to de-couple the interface (MS Access) from the SQL Backend. Â As a result, I'm going to write a number of Stored Procedures to replace the MS Access code. Â My first attempt worked on a small sample, however, trying to move this on to a real table hasn't worked (I've amended the SP and code to try and get it to work on 2 fields, rather than the full 20 plus). It works in SQL Management console (supply a Client ID, it returns all the client details), but does not return anything (recordset closed) when trying to access via VBA code. The Stored procedure is:-
USE [VMSProd] GO /****** Object: StoredProcedure [Clients].[vms_Get_Specified_Client] Script Date: 22/09/2015 16:29:59 ******/ SET ANSI_NULLS ON GO SET QUOTED_IDENTIFIER ON
If a Select is done on a column whose data type is nvarchar(16) and contains only numerals (UPC numbers) the select does not return the record.
1. Query with numerals in nvarchar column works as long as multiple records are returned (LIKE '012%') 2. Numeric (INT only one tested) columns works as expected 3. String columns with alpha data works as expected 4. Problem only exist when running in Device Emulator and/or actual device. 5. Same test on desktop app runs as expected. 6. Windows Mobile 6, Vista Ultimate 7. Same results when when connection to device from SSMS 8. SQL Servers comes on
Previous thread discussion of this problem (I thought that Parameters corrected problem, but not in all cases???)
I am getting the following error running a data flow that splits the input data into multiple streams and writes the results of each stream to the same destination table:
"This operation conflicts with another pending operation on this transaction. The operation failed."
The flow starts with a single source table with one row per student and multiple scores for that student. It does a few lookups and then splits the stream (using Multicast) in several layers, ultimately generating 25 destinations (one for each score to be recorded), all going to the same table (like a fact table). This all is running under a transaction at the package level, which is distributed to a separate machine.
Apparently, I cannot have all of these streams inserting data into the same table at one time. I don't understand why not. In an OLTP system, many transactions are inserting records into the same table at once. Why can't I do that within the same transaction?
I suppose I can use a UnionAll to join them back together before writing to a single destination, but that seems like an unnecessary waste and clutters the flow. Can anyone offer a different solution or a reason why this fails in the first place?
I am pretty new to SSIS. I am trying to create a package which can accept data in any of several formats. i.e. CSV, Excel, a SQL Server database/table and import the data into my destination database.
So far i've managed to get this working OK. However I am now TOTALLY stuck. I'm currently trying to just concentrate on the data sources being a CSV (using a Flat File Data Source) and/or an Excel Spreadsheet.
I can get the data in and to my destination using a UNION ALL component and mapping the data sources to it so long as both the CSV file and the Excel spreadsheet exist.
My problem is that I need my package to handle the possibility that only the CSV file might exist and there is no Excel spreadsheet. In which case i'd like the package to ignore the Excel datasource completely. Currently either of my data sources do not exist I get errors and the package terminates.
Is there any way in SSIS that I can check all my data sources to see which ones exist (i.e. are valid). If they exist I want to use them. If it doesn't exist i'd like to disgard it (without error - as long as there is a single datasource the package should run)
I've tried using the AcquireConnection method in a script task on each of my connections, hoping that it would error if the file/datasource did not exist. It doesn't though (in the case of an Excel datasource it just creates a empty excel file for me).
The only other option I can come up with are to have seperate packages depending on the type of data we want to import and then run a particular package depending on the format of the source data. This seems a bit long winded. I am pretty sure I must be able to do what I want to achieve but I can't work out how.
I'll be grateful to anyone who can send me any tips/hints/links on how I can achieve this.
In my project i want a report. In that report data is getting from more than one data sources(systems). While creating data source view i used named query for both primary and secondary data source. But at the time of crating "Report Model" i am getting below error.
An error occurred while executing a command. Message: Invalid object name 'Table2'. Command: SELECT COUNT(*) FROM (SELECT SerialNum, ModelNum AS com_model FROM Table2) t
Is there any way to create a report with multiple data sources?
I have a sql query that I would like to run every morning and output into a csv file.Unfortunately, I can't seem to find simple instructions on how to use SQL Server Agent to run that.
I have a client who has SSMS installed on her laptop. She is able to connect to the SQL server via SSMS in the office and query data on the server.
She needs to be out of site often and doesn't have internet access. She asks if the data tables can be "backed up" or saved on her laptop, so she can look at them without worrying connecting to the server. I am not sure if this can be achieved, as SSMS is built for accessing a server, not a desktop. Myself never have this need. If I really need it, I would go to Microsoft Access and create an ODBC connection to the datatables. But this client thinks that Microsoft Access is beneath her.Â
I am using SQL select query to select MIN from column data but I have 12 columns and want to select MIN of all these 6 columns in one SQL select statement.
I have written as SELECT MIN(temp_sv,humidity_sv,SH1,SH2,SH3,SH4) from production but its not working... How to do this....
I am studying indexes and keys. I have a table that has a fixed width of data to be loaded in the first column which is parsed in a view based on data types within the fixed width specifications.
Example column A: (name phone house cost of house, zipcodecountystatecountry) -a view will later split this large varchar string based column b: is the source filename of the data load (varchar 256) ....
a. would there be a benefit of adding a clustered or nonclustered index (if so which/point in direction on why)
b. is there benefit of making one of these two columns a primary key (millions of records) or for adding a 3rd new column as a pk?
c. view: this parses the data in column a so it ends up looking more like "name phone house cost of house zipcode county state country" each having their own column.
-any pros/cons of adding indexes (if so which) to the view instead of the tables or both for once the data is parsed?
Hi ! I have a textbox and a Search button. When the user inputs a value and press the button, i want a datagrid to be filled. The following code runs: Dim connect As New Data.SqlClient.SqlConnection( _ "Server=SrvnameSQLEXPRESS;Integrated Security=True; UID= ;password= ; database=dtbsname") connect.Open() Dim cmd As New SqlCommand Dim valor As New SqlParameter("@valor", SqlDbType.VarChar, 50) cmd.CommandText = "Ver_Contactos_Reducido" cmd.CommandType = CommandType.StoredProcedure cmd.Connection = connect cmd.Parameters.Add(valor) cmd.Parameters("@valor").Value = texto Dim adapter As New SqlDataAdapter(cmd) Dim ds As New System.Data.DataSet() adapter.Fill(ds) GridViewContactos.DataSource = ds GridViewContactos.DataBind() connect.Close() I drag a datagrid on the page and only changed its Id. Into the SQL database the stored procedure is the following: ALTER PROCEDURE [dbo].[Ver_Contactos_Reducido] (@Valor VARCHAR(100)) AS BEGIN SET NOCOUNT ON; SELECT NombreRazonSocial, Nombre, Apellido,TelefonoLaboral, Interno, TelefonoCelular, Email1, Organizacion FROM CONTACTOS WHERE NombreRazonSocial = @Valor OR Nombre = @Valor OR Apellido = @Valor OR TelefonoLaboral = @Valor OR Interno = @Valor OR TelefonoCelular =@Valor OR Email1 = @Valor OR Organizacion= @Valor END When i run the page i can't see the datagrid, and after i enter a text and press the button, nothing happens. What am i doing wrong?? Thks!!
I'm running the following SQL query from LabVIEW, a graphical programming language, using the built in capabilities it has for database connectivity:
   DECLARE @currentID int    SET @currentID = (SELECT MIN(ExperimentID) FROM Jobs_t WHERE JobStatus = 'ToRun');    UPDATE [dbo].[Jobs_t]    SET [JobStatus] = 'Pending'    WHERE ExperimentID = @currentID;    SELECT @currentID AS result <main.img>
This is the analogous code to main() is a C-like language. The first block, which has the "Connection Information" wire going into it, opens a .udl file and creates an ADO.NET _Connection reference, which is later used to invoke methods for the query.
<execute query.img>
This is the inside of the second block, the one with "EXE" and the pink wire going into it. The boxes with the gray border operate much like "switch" statements. The wire going into the "?" terminal on these boxes determines which case gets executed. The yellow boxes with white rectangels dropping down are invoke nodes and property nodes; they accept a reference to an object and allow you to invoke methods and read/write properties of that object. You can see the _Recordset object here as well. <fetch recordset.img>
Here's the next block to be executed, the one whose icon reads "FETCH ALL". We see that the first thing to execute on the far left grabs some properties of the recordset, and returns them in a "struct" (the pink wire that goes into the box that reads "state"). This is where the code fails. The recordset opened in the previous VI (virtual instrument) has a status of "closed", and the purple variant (seen under "Read all the data available") comes back empty.
The rest of the code is fairly irrelevant, as it's just converting the received variant into usable data, and freeing the recordset reference opened previously. My question is, why would the status from the query of the recordset be "closed"? I realize that recordsets are "closed" when the query returns no rows, but executing that query in SSMS returns good data. Also, executing the LabVIEW code does the UPDATE in the query, so I know that's not broken either.
I have this query in a stored procedure. I will simplify it so that it shows the issue I am having.
I have two tables. One table has a PK called PRSubLineID. the other table has that in a foreign key.
I did a query like this using the IN Statement
SELECT PRSubLineID, PRSUBLINENumber, f2, f3, FROM PRSUBLINES PRSL WHERE PRSL.PRSUBLINENumber LIKE '%test%' AND PRSL.PRSubLineID NOT IN (SELECT CSL.PRSUBLineID FROM CtrSubLines CSL)
This is supposed to select those items from one table with a PRSubLineNumber containing the work Test which has a primary key that has not been used as a foreign key in the other table. However I am getting an empty resultset back.
But when I comment out the "And" and end the query after '%test%', Like this:
SELECT PRSubLineID, PRSUBLINENumber, f2, f3, FROM PRSUBLINES PRSL WHERE PRSL.PRSUBLINENumber LIKE '%test%'
I show a resultset containing three records whose PRSubLineID' s are 2384, 2385, 2386.
But when I add this query to the query window:
Select * FROM CtrSubLines CSL WHERE CSL.PRSubLineID in (2384, 2385, 2386)
I also get a null resultset. So hoping to decipher what was going on I changed the initial query to look like this.
SELECT PRSubLineID, PRSUBLINENumber, f2, f3, FROM PRSUBLINES PRSL WHERE PRSL.PRSUBLINENumber LIKE '%test%' AND PRSL.PRSubLineID /*NOT*/ IN (SELECT CSL.PRSUBLineID FROM CtrSubLines CSL)
And this still returned a null result set.
Basically this is saying that my PRSubLineIDs are neither included nor excluded in the set of all values of PRSubLineID in the CtrSubLines table. But that is simply impossible.
Im attempting to put data from an xml file (formatting like its different tables) into a database table as a single data row entry. I've attempted to use the 'union all' and 'merge' transformation but this inserts the data as multiple rows. Is this possible ?.
When I execute the below stored procedure I get the error that "Arithmetic overflow error converting expression to data type int".
