What i want when user enters from date and end date. i want to filter records which are fallen between those two input dates.
if user enters 17.07.2014 and 20.07.2014 as input range. query should show only A and B process as
A 14.07.2017 20.07.2014
B 15.07.2014 21.07.2014

I have 2 tables, one is table A which stores Resources Assign to work for a certain period. The structure is as below

The table B stores the item process time. The structure is as below

I need to select the item which process in 2015-04-01 16:40:00 and 2015-04-01 17:30:00. Beside that I need to know how many resource is assigned to process the item in that period of time. I only has the start date is 2015-04-01 16:40:00 and end date is 2015-04-01 17:30:00. How I can select the data from both tables. There is no need for JOIN, just seperate selections.
Another item process time is in 2015-04-01 10:00:00 and 2015-04-04 11:50:59.

I have been asked to write a query on SBO.It requires (among other) a reference to a budget, which does not exist anywhere now.It is a yearly budget that changes quarterly.I suppose I could add a table and update the no. each quarter - but will the history be kept?What would you recommend?Also, they require a quarterly comparison (all in the same report) is it possible for the user to enter a range of date (for sales data, for example) and also receive the data for that range only last year's?

My goal is to select values from the same date range for a month on month view to compare values month over month. I've tried using the date trunc function but I'm not sure what the best way to attack this is. My thoughts are I need to somehow select first day of every month + interval 'x days' (but I don't know the syntax).In other words, I want to see

I know this is an easy one and I know I've read it somewhere, but I can't seem to write the correct format to run correctly. I am trying to build a SELECT statement base on the selected values of a dropdown list on a webform. The selected values will be part of the Table name.. But how can i put a simple date range interface on my published report so users can say "get me the stats from 04/09/2005 to 20/09/2005, which then runs the query?

I have a series of "Payroll Periods", called S1 thru S26 for the year. I want to create a parameter call "Pay Period" and have the user select a single pay period, i.e. S13. Elsewhere I know the beginning and ending date for each pay period, but it is in another dataset. So if the user selects S13 and I know the 13th pay period is April 1st thru April 15th, how do I use those dates as my beginning and end dates for my SQL query statement to return only the data from the selected pay period. The data itself has dates and not pay period references.

I want to group by the data to the following while saving the first and last date within each type and subtype:

I need query which will check user supplied date range is in between the existing table startdate and enddate.
if any of the date of user supplied date range is in between the tables start date and end date,it should retrun that record from table.
for example user supply date range is from 1 may 2012 to 5 may 2012.
then query must check that
1 may 2005
2 may 2005
3 may 2005
4 may 2005
5 may 2005
(all dates) is in between startdate and enddate of existing table.

Can someone show me what I need to do to have a result set only displaying records from the specified date range. All the tables can relate on Date, shift, and ProductType (Besides UnprocessedProductTracking which can only relate on Date and Shift) I have a lot of trouble with joins...well I'm just not to experienced. I have a situation where an agent has number of activities for a certain date range. If an agent has multiple activities within certain date range, I would like BALANCE BEFORE from the first activity and BALANCE AFTER from the last activity. Here is my current SQL query that returns the following data:

I have to produce a report to calculate no of days based on user input start date and end date. I have tried to explain below.
say for eg: in the tables I have emp name
user 'Phani' started work from - EStart 20/11/2014EEnd 10/01/2015 - total days --datediff
within his work period he did different roles:
PhaniMarketing (prSt Date) 20/11/2014prE date (28/11/2014) Total 9 days
PhaniAdmin (prSt Date) 29/11/2014prE date (20/12/2014) Total 22 days
PhaniCRM (prSt Date) 20/12/2014prE date (10/01/2015) Total 22 days
Total days 53 Days
For this :
I calculated datediff + 1 and got sub jobs days BUT
say financial director wants to see Title of 'Sub Jobs' with 'Days' from 1st Dec to 31st Dec
so on paper I calulated as :
1-31 Dec 2014
PhaniMarketing NULL (Do not fall in Req Dt)
PhaniAdmin 20 (Deduct 2 days of Nov & calculated 20 days of Dec)
PhaniCRM 11 (Deduct 20 days of Nov and deduct 11 days of Jan so for Dec , we got 11 days)
Total days 31
HOW CAN I USE Case statement to calculate days for given start date and end date. I have to include all three totals, 1 for Job dates, 2, subjobs dates, 3 cal of days for a requested period.

I have an Orders table which has the following fields:
OrderID (PK, int, auto increment, not null)
CustomerID (FK, int, null)
PaymentDate (datetime, null)
UserID (uniqueidentifier)
(and other irrelevant fields)
Basically, for a specific PaymentDate range (29th July 2014 - 26th August 2014, inclusive) I want to select all orders where they only appear once in the orders table based on the CustomerID, so I only want to know about them if they have a paid order (decided by PaymentDate not being null) in that date range, but also taking into account if they have ever had a paid order outside of that date range. I'll also be joining on to the aspnet_Users table to get the username assigned to that order.

I'm running a pre-defined script which used to work fine on a file which was resupplied every month. below is the script used and the error message. looking at the error I assume that there is a rouge record within the file but have looked in Textpad and cannot find it.

I have a QA Deployment Date field that is being returned in a custom report I created. I also found a sample date range parameter:
What I want to accomplish:
I want to select a From and To Date and filter the report to only display the rows that have the QA Deployment Date within the selected range.
For example.. I want to select From Date (8/1/2105) and To Date (8/31/2015) and I only want to return only the results that have a QA Deployment date between that selected range.

Date parameter. I created a report that allows a drop down for a date range to be selected. However, whenever I preview the report, I get an error. I know my error stems from my date fields being in this format "201301" , and the "date/ time" in SSRS being mm/dd/yyyy on the drop down calendar in SSRS.
I know the direction I want to go in, but just a little confused on where would I use the convert or cast function. Would it be in the data parameter itself, or a part of the query before the @start date and @End date?

I have to display the last temperature reading from an activity table for all the dates in a selected date range.So if I select the date range from 09/01/2012 to 09/30/2012, the results should look like this:
Date Temperature
09/01/2012 73.5
09/02/2012 75.2

and so on.
I am using this to get the dates listed:

I have a report that I need to run on 2 different date ranges.
Both report's data is 2 days behind today's date.
so...
WHERE reportdate between dateadd('d',date(),-2) and dateadd('d',date(),-2)
OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT, NO BIGGIE HERE
The 2nd report is a month to date report. This is the 1 I can't figure out.
WHERE reportdate between (the first day of this month) and dateadd('d',date(),-2)
So that would look like
WHERE reportdate between 1/1/2007 and 1/21/2007
My problem is, if today is the 1st day of the month... how can I get my critiera to NOT do this
WHERE reportdaye between 2/1/2007 and 1/30/2007
Any help would be greatly appriciated!

Have seen other questions here about modifying date pickers supplied by reports created in BIDS. The answer is usually NO. But this does not involve a format change, simply want to limit say to a specific year.

We received a Payment from a customer on '10/10/2007 10:30:00'. i am trying to calculate the commission we would receive from that payment. the commission rate can be edited. so i have to find what the commission rate was when that payment was received.
I have a CommisionAudit table that tracks changes in commission rate with the following values.
ID | Commission Change | UpdatedOn

1 | Change from 20->25 | 03/07/2007 09:00:00

with this payment, as the commission rate had been changed on 01/10/2007 it would obviously be 20%(ID 3). But I need to write sql to cover all eventualities i.e. Before the first and after the last. any help would be most welcome.

I have a need to select rows where values in a column are within a range AND ALSO the first row that is highest (MAX) but just UNDER the range. For example:

John 5
Tom 6
Julie 7
Rich 8
Rob 9
RANGE TO SELECT is 6-8 (inclusive)
Rows with a value in the range are returned (6, 7, & 8) as well as the row with a highest value that is JUST BELOW the range (5)

I have a database for a pretend dvd hire company and need to create a query that uses user input as part of the query.
Ie, select * from dvd where actor = 'Tom Cruise';
The 'Tom Cruise' part of the query needs to be user input every time the query is ran... Can you help?

Hi, Just wondering if I could make sure that "hackers" don't tamper with my querystring - which is a parameter for a SQL query. i.e... Dim ListOfValues as string = request.querystring("listOfValues")

How can I validate it so that hackers can't add any characters other than 'numbers' and ' , ' to the sql parameter? I have tried to tryparse the 'ListOfValues ' as an integer - by replacing "," with "" but an integer overflow occured. Any questions or ideas? Thanks

Hi,
I am new to ASP.NET so pordon me if my questions seems to be stupid.
I was given an assign to develop a ASP that would return results from a SQL server.
The problem is that part of my query to the SQL server comes from the webform

well here's a problem that I encountered, i got a textbox that is used to store the Date of Birth of a user. So when user keys in something, it is store as a string. However i wish to convert it into a datetime so that i can store it into my database. Anybody know of a way to help? i've tried countless methods but doesn't seem to work.
