Hi All,
I have a program which shows some manipulate data from 2 tables on a datagrid.
I'm using another program to delete rows from both tables. (The second program activate from the PC using the RAPI dll).
I have sometimes a problem deleting records.
Actually the Datagrid is not suppose to be shown when the user use the second program, but since I'm not able to determine whether my first program is still running or not, is there an option to force the delete even if other program is using it?
If not, is there a way to stop the first program?
I have a SQL script to insert data into a table as below:
INSERT into [SRV1INS2].BB.dbo.Agents2 select * from [SRV2INS14].DD.dbo.Agents
I just want to set a Trigger on Agents2 Table, which could delete all rows in the table , before carry out any Insert operation using above statement.I had below Table Trigger on [SRV1INS2].BB.dbo.Agents2 Table as below: But it did not perform what I intend to do.
USE [BB] GO /****** Object: Trigger Script Date: 24/07/2015 3:41:38 PM ******/ SET ANSI_NULLS ON GO SET QUOTED_IDENTIFIER ON
Hi I'm having a problem deleting rows from my datagrid. I have data that is grouped by a code number. One of the code numbers have over 600 rows, while other code numbers have around 10 to 20 rows within it.
When I run the report the code number that has over 600 rows gets split over 2 pages while the other code numbers each get their own page.
How do I make it so that when I run the report the code number that has over 600 rows gets all displayed on the 1 page instead of being split over 2?
I have two tables that are related by keys. For instance,Table employee {last_name char(40) not null,first_name char(40) not null,department_name char(40) not null,age int not null,...}Employee table has a primary key (combination of last_name and first_name).Table address {last_name char(40) not null,first_name char(40) not null,street char(200) not null,city char(100) not null,...}Address table has a primary key (combination of last_name, first_name andstreet in which (last_name, first_name) reference (last_name, first_name) inemployee table.Now I want to delete some rows in Address table based on department_name inEmployee table. What is sql for this delete?I appreciate your help. Please ignore table design and I just use it for myproblem illustration.Jim
In my table I have following current data. I want to delete duplicate records from table.I am trying following SQL statement, So I am getting desired output which is orange color in current data. I want to keep the desired output records and other all should be deleted. But complection is that in current data values in C5 and C6 are different.
select C1,C2,C3,C4,COUNT(*) from table_Delete group by C1,C2,C3,C4 having COUNT(*) >= 1 ORDER BY COUNT(*) DESC
hi alli hava eetable that is ,eename sal_______ ________suresh 100000ramsesh 100000raja 100000susjssj 100000dkddkd 100000jfdjfdjfd 100000so i want to delete from second to Fourth row by using Rownumber..Rownumber is not a column of eetable give some example
I have one table that has unique id's associated with each row of information. I want to delete rows of information in one table that have a unique ID that references information in another table.
Here is a basic breakdown of what I am trying to do:
Table1 (the table where the rows need to be deleted from) Column_x (Holds the id that is unique to the various rows of data - User ID)
Table2 (Holds the user information & has the associated ID) Column_z (holds the User ID)
I tried this on a test set of tables and could not get it to work. What I am trying to do is skip all rows of Table1 that have ID's present in Table2, and delete the rows of ID's that are not present in Table2.
Code:
SELECT Column_z FROM dbo.Table2 DELETE FROM dbo.Table1 WHERE Column_z <> Column_x
This did not seem to do what I needed, it did not delete any rows at all.
I wanted it to delete all rows in Table1 that did not have a reference to a user ID that matched any ID's in Column_z of Table2
Then I tried another scenerio that I also needed to do:
Code:
SELECT Column_z, Column_a FROM dbo.Table2 DELETE FROM dbo.Table1 WHERE Column_z = Column_x AND Column_a='0'
'0' being the user id is inactive so I wanted to delete rows in Table1 and remove all references to users that were in an inactive status in Table2.
Neither one of the Queries wanted to work for me in the Query Analyzer when I ran them. It just said (0) rows affected.
Now say I got two sellers (1 & 2), and only one article (1, offered by seller 1). The delete query should delete seller 2 because he is not offering articles anymore.
This probably is dead simple in SQL, something like DELETE FROM seller WHERE COUNT(article.SellerID=seller.ID)==0 but honestly, my SQL books leave me guessing here, and I found no online ref for cases like this.
How to I return the row count as result of deleting some rows from a table? This this script correct below?? Here's my stored procedure script..
Code:
CREATE PROCEDURE dbo.sp_CleanUp_Table_tblSoldRaw /*************************************************************** ** CREATED: 12/04/2006 **************************************************************** ** DESCRIPTION: Clean the tblSoldRaw by deleting any data that ** is over 90 days old. Hi there, I have a simple data flow from OLE DB to OLE DB that writes data from a view into a table. Is it possible to delete the table or the rows within the table before wirting the new data???
This SQL statement, though carefully written to delete only selected rows, deletes the entire A_Shift_Times table:
DELETE FROM A_Shift_Times WHERE EXISTS ( SELECT 1 FROM Users WHERE (A_Shift_Times.time_in >= CONVERT(DATETIME, '2000-05-29 00:00:00', 102)) AND ((Users.User_Password LIKE N'mrr%') OR (Users.User_Password LIKE N'work%')))
Hello I am new to SSIS and learning as I go. Any guidance to my questions would be appreciated.
I wrote a script that takes the current date and subtracts a number of days/months from this date. I then attempted to use an SQL Task as a select with a parameter using the calculated date from the script. I was not successful in doing this. While performing searches on the WEB with the hopes of finding a solution I came upon the following text in the Microsoft forum under EXECUTE SQL TASK.
When you use an OLE DB Connection Manager, you cannot use parameterized subqueries because the Execute SQL task cannot derive parameter information through the OLE DB provider. However, you can use an expression to concatenate the parameter values into the query string and to set the SqlStatementSource property of the task.
Having come upon this statement I moved on to putting together an OLE DB SOURCE with a Flat File Destination. The SQL that I wrote is:
SELECT BP_ID, INVC_NBR, INVC_DT, BUS_ADD_DT FROM DW.CUST_SALE_ADDR WHERE (BUS_ADD_DT = ?)
The flat file destination was mainly used to confirm the select.
Having confirmed my select, I changed the select in the OLE DB SOURCE as follows:
DELETE FROM DW.CUST_SALE_ADDR WHERE (BUS_ADD_DT = ?)
I also removed the Flat File Destination. Needless to say when I tried to run the package I did not get very far as a package validation error was encountered since there were no output columns.
Can you share how I should go about peforming the delete as described from the table based on a calculated date? And am I not understanding the comment regarding the SQL Statement and the use of parameters?
Using the the NumId from TitleData, I would like to delete thecorresponding row in Bookdata using pure SQL. I want it to delete allrows in bookdata where the Titledata.NumID is a match to bookdata.idThe two tables are linked in that the NumId of table Titledata isidentical to the Id of table bookdata. I can, using ADO, loop thrudeleting one by one but I would like to do this in a pure SQLstatement. Is this possible? Any help is appreciated.I was thinking something like this way :"Delete from Bookdata where Titledata.NumID = Bookdata.id"But of course it will error.My current code is:(frmlogon.tablename is really Titledata)Dim rstry As New ADODB.RecordsetDim values As VariantSQLQuery = "Select Numid from " & frmLogon.TablenameSet rstry = frmLogon.cnConnection.Execute(SQLQuery)values = rstry.GetRowsSet rstry = Nothing'now loop thruDim xx As Integerxx = 0Do Until xx > UBound(values, 2)SQLQuery = "Delete from Bookdata where bookdata.Id = '" & values(0,xx) & "'"frmLogon.cnConnection.Execute (SQLQuery)xx = xx + 1Loop'create statements for 2 tables involved areconn.Execute "CREATE TABLE TitleData" & _"(Id INT IDENTITY (1, 1) NOT NULL PRIMARY KEY," & _"NumId INT DEFAULT 0 )"conn.Execute "CREATE TABLE BookData" & _"(Id INT IDENTITY (1, 1) NOT NULL," & _"Titles TEXT DEFAULT ''," & _"GeneralNote TEXT DEFAULT ''," & _"Author VARCHAR(100) DEFAULT ''," & _"Imprint VARCHAR(100) DEFAULT ''," & _"ISBN VARCHAR(100) DEFAULT ''," & _"Description VARCHAR(100) DEFAULT ''," & _"CallNumberPre VARCHAR(5) DEFAULT ''," & _"CallNumber VARCHAR(25) DEFAULT '',LOCNumber VARCHAR(30) DEFAULT '',"& _"Accession VARCHAR(25) DEFAULT ''," & _"Bibliography VARCHAR(100) DEFAULT ''," & _"Series VARCHAR(100) DEFAULT ''," & _"MyStatus VARCHAR(70) DEFAULT ''," & _"Barcode VARCHAR(50) DEFAULT ''," & _"LocalData VARCHAR(100) DEFAULT ''," & _"CheckoutPeriod VARCHAR(10) DEFAULT ''," & _"CatalogCard TEXT DEFAULT ''," & _"Summary TEXT DEFAULT ''," & _"MyCount VARCHAR(10) DEFAULT ''," & _"ItemDate DATETIME DEFAULT ''," & _"MyUser VARCHAR(50) DEFAULT ''," & _"MarcData TEXT DEFAULT ''," & _"SdlsRecord TEXT DEFAULT '', LOSC VARCHAR(5) DEFAULT '', LOSNDecimal(14,6) DEFAULT 0," & _"Edits Char(1) DEFAULT '', TitleDuplicate VARCHAR(50) DEFAULT '')"
Question pls. I have an MS SQL local package where it exports data from SQL table to Excel file. My question is, how can erase all the records in my excel file before i export the new data from SQL table?
What i want is to delete the rows in the destination file before inserting new records.
I have a master table and i need to import the rows into the parent and child table.
Master table name is Flatfile_Inventory Parent Table name is INVENTORY Child Tables name are INVENTORY_AMOUNT,INVENTORY_DETAILS,INVENTORY_VEHICLE, Error details will be goes to LOG_INVENTORY_ERROR
I have 4 duplicate rows in the Flatfile_Inventory which i have already inserted in the Parent and child table.
Again when i run the query using stored procedure,its tells that all the 4 rows are duplicate and will move to the Log_Inventory_Error.
I need is if i have the duplicate rows in the flatfile_Inventory when i start inserting into the parent and child table the already inserted row have the unique ID i must identify it and delete that row in the both parent and chlid table.And latest row must get inserted into the Parent and child table from Flatfile_Inventory.
I have around 3 tables having around 20 to 30gb of data. My table A related to table B by a FK and same way table B related to table C by FK. I would like to delete all rows satisfying certain condition from table A and all corresponding related records from table B and C. I have created a query to delete the grandchild first, followed by child table and finally parent. I have used inner join in my delete query. As you all know, inner join delete operations, are going to be extremely resource Intensive especially on bigger tables.
What is the best approach to delete all these rows? There are many constraints, triggers on these tables. Also, there might be some FK relations to other tables as well.
I have nine type of buttons, EnrollAmtBTM PlacAmtBTM and so on, I also have a SQL setver view V_Payment_Amount_List from here i need to display the data on the button this is the select value to display when i choose the agency list and the amount corresponding to that agency_ID is displayed here the agency_ID is fetched from the SQL CONDITION THIS IS WHERE I GET FETCH AGENCY DATA WHEN SELECTED i.e SQL CONDITIONprotected void CollectAgencyInformation() { WebLibraryClass ConnectionFinanceDB;ConnectionFinanceDB = new WebLibraryClass(); string SQLCONDITION = "";string RUN_SQLCONDITION = ""; SessionValues ValueSelected = null;int CollectionCount = 0;if (Session[Session_UserSPersonalData] == null) {ValueSelected = new SessionValues(); Session.Add(Session_UserSPersonalData, ValueSelected); } else { ValueSelected = (SessionValues)(Session[Session_UserSPersonalData]); }ProcPaymBTM.Visible = false;PaymenLstBTN.Visible = false; Dataviewlisting.ActiveViewIndex = 0;TreeNode SelectedNode = new TreeNode(); SelectedNode = AgencyTree.SelectedNode; SelectedAgency = SelectedNode.Value.ToString(); Agencytxt.Text = SelectedAgency; Agencytxt2.Text = SelectedAgency; Agencytxt3.Text = SelectedAgency;DbDataReader CollectingDataSelected = null; try {CollectingDataSelected = ConnectionFinanceDB.CollectedFinaceData("SELECT DISTINCT AGENCY_ID FROM dbo.AIMS_AGENCY where Program = '" + SelectedAgency + "'"); } catch { }DataTable TableSet = new DataTable(); TableSet.Load(CollectingDataSelected, LoadOption.OverwriteChanges);int IndexingValues = 0;foreach (DataRow DataCollectedRow in TableSet.Rows) {if (IndexingValues == 0) {SQLCONDITION = "where (Project_ID = '" + DataCollectedRow["AGENCY_ID"].ToString().Trim() + "'"; } else {SQLCONDITION = SQLCONDITION + " OR Project_ID = '" + DataCollectedRow["AGENCY_ID"].ToString().Trim() + "'"; } IndexingValues += 1; }SQLCONDITION = SQLCONDITION + ")"; ConnectionFinanceDB.DisconnectToDatabase();if (Dataviewlisting.ActiveViewIndex == 0) { Dataviewlisting.ActiveViewIndex += 1; } else { Dataviewlisting.ActiveViewIndex = 0; } SelectedAgency = SQLCONDITION; ValueSelected.CONDITION = SelectedAgency;
???? this is where i use to get count where in other buttons and are displayed.... but i changed the query to display only the Payment_Amount_Budgeted respective to the agency selected. from the viewRUN_SQLCONDITION = "SELECT Payment_Amount_Budgeted FROM dbo.V_Payment_Amount_List " + SQLCONDITION; try { CollectionCount = ConnectionFinanceDB.CollectedFinaceDataCount(RUN_SQLCONDITION); EnrollAmtBTM.Text = CollectionCount.ToString(); } catch { }////this is my CollectedFinaceDataCount-- where fuction counts the records in the above select statement if i use for eg. "SELECT Count(Placement_Retention_ID) FROM dbo.V_Retention_6_Month_Finance_Payment_List" here is the functionpublic int CollectedFinaceDataCount(String SQLStatement) {int DataCollection; DataCollection = 0; try { SQLCommandExe = FinanceConnection.CreateCommand(); SQLCommandExe.CommandType = CommandType.Text; SQLCommandExe.CommandText = SQLStatement; ConnectToDatabase();DataCollection = (int) SQLCommandExe.ExecuteScalar(); DisconnectToDatabase(); }catch (Exception ex) {Console.WriteLine("Exception Occurred :{0},{1}", ex.Message, ex.StackTrace.ToString()); } return DataCollection; }
So here mu requirement request is to display only the value fronm the view i have against the agency selected Please help ASAP Thanks Santosh
I'm using SqlDataSource and an Access database. Let's say I got two tables:user: userID, usernamemessage: userID, messagetextLet's say a user can register on my website, and leave several messages there. I have an admin page where I can select a user and delete all of his messages just by clicking one button.What would be the best (and easiest) way to make this?Here's my suggestion:I have made a "delete query" (with userID as parameter) in MS Access. It deletes all messages of a user when I type in the userID and click ok.Would it be possible to do this on my ASP.net page? If yes, what would the script look like?(yes, it is a newbie question)
I ran the following query in Query Analyzer on a machine running SQL Server 2000. I'm attempting to delete from a linked server running SQL Server 2005:
DELETE FROM sql2005.production.dbo.products WHERE vendor='Foo' AND productId NOT IN ( SELECT productId FROM sql2000.staging.dbo.fooProductList )
The status message (and @@ROWCOUNT) told me 8 rows were affected, but nothing was actually deleted; when I ran a SELECT with the same criteria as the DELETE, all 8 rows are still there. So, once more I tried the DELETE command. This time it told me 7 rows were affected; when I ran the SELECT again, 5 of the rows were still there. Finally, after running this exact same DELETE query 5 times, I was able to remove all 8 rows. Each time it would tell me that a different number of rows had been deleted, and in no case was that number accurate.
I've never seen anything like this before. Neither of the tables involved were undergoing any other changes. There's no replication going on, or anything else that should introduce any delays. And I run queries like this all day, involving every thinkable combination of 2000 and 2005 servers, that don't give me any trouble.
Does anyone have suggestions on what might cause this sort of behavior?
Ok here goes. I have 3 tables, one holds case info, the 2nd holds possible outcome on the charges, and they're joined on a 3rd table (CaseOutComes). With me so far? Easy stuff, now for the hard part. Since there's a very common possiblitly that the Case has multiple charges, we need to track those, and therefore, display them on a datagrid or some other control. I want the user to be able to edit the info and have X number of dropdowns pertaining to how many ever charges are on the case. I can get the query to return the rows no sweat, but ...merging them into 1 record (1 row) with mutiple drops is seeming impossible -- I thought about using a placeholder and added the controls that way, but it was not in agreement with what I was trying to tell it . Any ideas on how to attack this?
This is my case. I want in my datagrid to display first record from table A and second record from table B. This is because i need to display a price in the column where it will have current price and history price, therefore the first row will be current price and second row will be history price.
This is the output that i trying to do.
Item | Price -------|--------- A | 2.50 --------> Table A A | 1.50 --------> Table B
Please let me know if my explanation is not details enough.
I had created a trigger which sees that whether a database is updated if it is its copy the values of the updated row into another control table now I want to read the content of control_table into BIzTalk and after reading I want to delete it.Can any one suggest the suitable ay to do this?
