Deployed Reports Have Javascript Errors?

Mar 31, 2006

Hello-

I have developed a number of reports on Win XP with VS2005. They run on our development server, which is running Windows Server 2003 32-bit. I then deploy these reports on our production server, which is running Windows Server 2003 64-bit edition.

Accessing any of the reports from Report Manager results in javascript errors, such as 'Line 41 Error: 'RSClientController' is undefined'

I get these errors also when invoking these reports through a form post.

It appears that some javascript code generated by the report server is missing. Could this be a 32-bit vs 64-bit issue? Report Manager seems to work fine; it is only when I run a report that I have this problem. This is the first time I've tried to deploy reports to this server.

Thanks.

Including Javascript Into Reports

Jan 31, 2008

I'm using reporting services actions to execute some javascript. My javascript is quite complicated. Thus I don't want to duplicated it on each item. I've created javascript function and wan't to execute it from actions. But I can't find the way how to include my javascript code into my reports. If there's way to include it for all reports generated on reporting services server - it works fine for me.

Thanks in advance!

Reportviewer Date Parameter And Calendar.. Not Working And Javascript Errors??

Oct 22, 2007

Hi, I've got this ssrs 2005 report that works great passing a few
security related parameters from asp.net codebehind. However, there
are two date related parameters that won't be coming from my web form,
but rather from the report form itself. When I test the report's date
parameters from visual studio it work fine, but when I attempt the
same report from a reportviewer no matter what input I place on the
report's date fields or even if I select the date picker, the report
simply resets to default and reloads. And actually the date picker
from the reportviewer does not not even pop up.

Here's my aspx code:

<%@ Page Language="VB" AutoEventWireup="false"
Inherits="_ReportViewer" MasterPageFile="~/Main/MasterPage.master"
CodeFile="~/Reports/CashSales.aspx.vb" Title="Cash Sales" %>

<%@ Register Assembly="Microsoft.ReportViewer.WebForms,
Version=8.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a"
Namespace="Microsoft.Reporting.WebForms" TagPrefix="rsweb" %>

<asp:Content ID="Content1" ContentPlaceHolderID="Content1"
runat="Server">
<rsweb:ReportViewer BackColor="Transparent" ZoomMode="PageWidth"
Width="100%" ProcessingMode="Remote" ID="ReportViewer1"
runat="server">
<ServerReport ReportPath="/Retailer/CashSales"
ReportServerUrl="http://myserver/reportserver" />
</rsweb:ReportViewer>
</asp:Content>

Note: I'm only passing the parameters that are not coming from the
reportviewer form.

the code behind:

Imports system.web.security.membership
Imports system.web.security.Roles
Imports Microsoft.Reporting.Webforms

Partial Class _ReportViewer
Inherits System.Web.UI.Page
Private Users As New Retailer.Core()

Protected Overrides Sub OnLoad(ByVal e As EventArgs)

Dim Roles() As String =
GetRolesForUser(Page.User.Identity.Name.ToString)

Dim cred As New Retailer.ReportServerCredentials("myuser",
"mypassword", "mydomain")
ReportViewer1.ServerReport.ReportServerCredentials = cred

Dim param As New ReportParameter("r_user",
Page.User.Identity.Name.ToString)
Dim param2 As New ReportParameter("r_role", Roles(0))
Dim p() As ReportParameter = {param, param2}

ReportViewer1.ServerReport.SetParameters(p)
ReportViewer1.ServerReport.Refresh()

End Sub
End Class

on my reportviewer form, at the top I have parameters for startdate
and end date, they are not set to internal or hidden.

If I select the calendar icon, i get a javascript error

Line: 606
Object Required

When I attempt to debug I get a Just-In-time failed : Unspecified
error. Check the documentation index for 'Just-in-time debugging,
errors' for more information. So pretty much I can't see the error or javascript in question.

If i enter anything in the date fields, it disregards them setting them to the defaults.

Again, if i run the report from my vs.net client (not using reportviewer), i can select the calendar and enter dates and it respects them.

Any chance I need to patch sql server or reporting services? maybe ie. I'm on IE 7.0.5730.11
Could my problem be that selecting items on the report itself fails to send my credential information from my codebehind?

Thanks for any help or information!

Now I want to allow user of my website to access the reports by clicking on a link. Do I need to establish user level access for the reports for each user or just one public access account? How do I pass login and credential information with the link so that users can access the report.

Moving Deployed Reporting Services Reports

Jul 30, 2007

We will making a change to our Reporting Services deployment next month. We will be moving from our SQL 2000 server to a new SQL 2005 server. In addition, we will moving from a Local Catalog Deployment to a Remote Catalog Deployment. My question is this: Is there a way I can prevent my team from having to manually redeploy our reports in the new system? They have not been diligent about saving the Visual Studio solution or project files, so they will have to pull the most up-to-date RDL's off the server and deploy them on the new server one by one.

I suppose I can install SQL 2000 on the new server first, then move the Reporting Services databases to the new server, then upgrade the server to 2005, but installing 2000 and upgrading to 2005 does not sound like a best practice. I would prefer a clean install of 2005. Does anyone know if I can move the deployed reports from one server to another?

Parent Package Reports Failure On Errors, But No Errors In Log

Jul 31, 2006

I have a parent package that calls child packages inside a For Each container. When I debug/run the parent package (from VS), I get the following error message: Warning: The Execution method succeeded, but the number of errors raised (3) reached the maximum allowed (1); resulting in failure. This occurs when the number of errors reaches the number specified in MaximumErrorCount. Change the MaximumErrorCount or fix the errors.

It appears to be failing while executing the child package. However, the logs (via the "progress" tab) for both the parent package and the child package show no errors other than the one listed above (and that shows in the parent package log). The child package appears to validate completely without error (all components are green and no error messages in the log). I turned on SSIS logging to a text file and see nothing in there either.

If I bump up the MaximumErrorCount in the parent package and in the Execute Package Task that calls the child package to 4 (to go one above the error count indicated in the message above), the whole thing executes sucessfully. I don't want to leave the Max Error Count set like this. Is there something I am missing? For example are there errors that do not get logged by default? I get some warnings, do a certain number of warnings equal an error?

Thanks,

Lee

Reports Containing Drill Through Interactive Bar Charts Not Working Properly When Deployed

Hi all,

Drill through bar charts work great in the report designer preview, but as soon as I deploy the report, and view the report in a webpage, drill through does not work smoothly.

I have to move the mouse around to be able to find a place on the bar to click through to the next report. Sometimes, I am able to click on the bar to go to next report, but then sometimes I have to click on the label, and other times somewhere in the vicinity of the label.

Any help will be much appreciated.

Reports Cannot Be Deployed From VS 2005 To Reporting Services In WSS Integration Mode

Jan 15, 2008

I tried to deploy reports from VS 2005 on Dev to Prod (different domain, in WSS integration mode) , but VS keeps showing the login window ...

I set up TargetDataSourceFolder, TargetReportFolder and TargetServerURL in VS 2005 on my Dev machine as mentioned in MSDN article "Deploying Reports, Models, and Shared Data Sources to a SharePoint Site" and tried to deploy reports to Prod machine. But VS 2005 keeps showing "Report Services Login" window to me, even when I used Administrator account of that Prod machine.

The WSS log file on the Prod machine shows this error: "The file you are attempting to save or retrieve has been blocked from this Web site by the server administrators."

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance! I have searched for days for this issue ...

Security Errors Accessing Reports From Sever

First of all, following is my setup.

I have Reporting Services installed on my web server (Windows 2003) where I am hosting my website too.
While installing Reporting Services, I used my database server as SQL Server (Windows 2000, SQL Server 2000).
Now when I try to access from browser using http://servername/reports it's giving me following error: "The underlying connection was closed: Could not establish trust relationship with remote server."
Also when I try to access http://servername/reportserver/ it gives me this error: "The permissions granted to user '{servername}IUSR_{servername}' are insufficient for performing this operation. (rsAccessDenied) Get Online Help"
I have given full access to "ASPNET", as well as "IUSR_{servername}" on the folder "C:Program FilesMicrosoft SQL ServerMSSQLReporting Services"
While installing reporting services, I used SQL mode of authentication.
My goal is to have reports on internet for public view. I have "Enable Anonymous access" check box checked on IIS with user name "IUSR_{servername}"

I have looked many places for the error and while many people is having same error, everyone has different reason and different solutions.

Not sure what I am missing here...Can anybody help?

SQL Server 2014 :: BCP Reports No Errors But Inserting No Rows

Feb 15, 2015

I have a Job that creates .CSV files at predetermined intervals (the delimiter is a tabstop) and every 5 minutes I have to retrieve These files one at a time and Import them into the relevant database.

My solution was to create a list of the files and insert this list into a temporary table where a Cursor would extract each filename one at a time and insert that Name into a BCP Statement. The BCP Statement is constructed using dynamic SQL.

Here the Cursor:

create table #filelist(filename nvarchar(100))
insert into #filelist exec xp_cmdshell 'dir C:BCP_Test /A-D /B'
declare @filename nvarchar(100)
declare @path nvarchar(100)
declare @bcp_open nvarchar(100)

[Code] ....

The code seems to work but although there are around 50000 lines in the .csv file, None of the lines are inserted.

Jump To URL & Javascript

Oct 23, 2007

Hi, I am trying to link to a page outside of reporting services from a report. I am using SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services [Standard Edition]. The hyperlink works if it is a straight URL, however, nothing happens if I modify it to use Javascript so I can open the link in a new window. I have found many posts on the web from others indicating it should be really easy, but I can not get the link to recognize ANY Javascript (also tried a basic alert with no luck).

The Javascript I am using is well formatted. I can place it into a test page and it runs fine. I can also RC and View Source on my report, grab the entire link, put it in a test page and it works fine. It just doesn't work from the report - ?

Any ideas?

Inserting Data Into A SQL Db Using VB && Javascript

May 1, 2008

Greetings to all -
I am trying to enter the date fields from my form into a SQL 2005 db by way of Visual Basic. The VB parameters are as follows:
Protected Sub DataEntry_Btn_NewGig_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles DataEntry_Btn_NewData.Click        Dim EnterData As New SqlDataSource()        EnterData.ConnectionString = ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings("MyDB_ConnectionString").ToString        EnterData.InsertCommandType = SqlDataSourceCommandType.Text        EnterData.InsertCommand = "INSERT INTO Data(Name,ExpertiseID,Description,PONumber,StartDate,EstHours,HourlyRate)VALUES(@Name,@ExpertiseID,@Description,@PONumber,@StartDate,@EstHours,@HourlyRate)"        EnterData.InsertParameters.Add("Name", TBox_Name.Text)        EnterData.InsertParameters.Add("ExpertiseID", Drop_Expertise.SelectedValue)        EnterData.InsertParameters.Add("Description", TBox_Description.Text)
...and so on...
All works well with data input into the ASP form using VB. The problem is, I'm using a Javascript date picker (calendar) to make it easier for users to input the date into the "StartDate" SQL column mentioned above. Do I want to use Javascript to enter this data, or VB?  And, how do I write this code whether it is one or the other?  I want to have all data entered with one button click event.  Also, the code I am using for the calendar date picker is below:
<td><input type="text" name="date" id="f_date_a" readonly="readonly" />
<img src="img.gif" id="f_trigger_a" style="cursor: pointer; border: 1px solid blue;" title="Date selector" onmouseover="this.style.background='blue';"
onmouseout="this.style.background=''" alt="Click to Enter Date"/>

<script type="text/javascript">Calendar.setup({inputField : "f_date_a",ifFormat : "%B %e, %Y",button : "f_trigger_a",align : "TL",singleClick : true });
</script></td>
I apologize if this post is in the wrong forum; thanks to all in advance...

Formatting A Javascript String For SQL - Help Please

Jul 26, 2004

I am well stuck in the mud right now.

Here is the problem. I am trying to write this: strLink2 = "<a href='JavaScript:OpenFile(" & strFileName & ")'>" & strFileName & "</a>" to SQL and then return it to a datagrid when I want it.

Easy enough, and as such all is well except for the fact that the Javascript doesn't work. In the grid it gets written as JavaScript:OpenFile(myfile). I need to add the single quotes around the file name so it writes JavaScript:Open('myfile').

I now know many ways that do not work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Help - How Can I Keep A Javascript Opened Window On Top?

Oct 18, 2007

Hi All.

So what I'm trying to do is open a new report in a new window(which I can already do) and keep that new window above all other windows.

Here is the code I'm using to open the new window.

javascript:void window.open('http://reportserver2/ReportServer/Primavera/?%2fprimavera%2fcustom+reports%2fIT%2fUnder+Review+Rup+Commitment+IT+Artifacts+subreport&rc:Toolbar=False&rs:Command=Render&pickITDeliveryOID=" & Fields!OID.Value & "', 'Test', 'location=0, menubar=0, toolbar=0, resizable=0, width=450, height=200')

It works great. I'm able to open the window and target links back to the same open window. But what I can't do is keep that window on top above all of the other windows. That is without closing the newly opened window and reclicking another link.

Is there someway for me to set the focus to the newly opened window so it will always remain above all other windows? I know this can be done with javascript(Code below would do the trick) but I'm just not sure how to incorporate the scripts into reporting service.

var newwindow;
function windowopen(url)
{
newwindow=window.open(url,'name','height=400,width=200');
if (window.focus) {newwindow.focus()}

}

<a href="javascript:windowopen('poppedexample.html');">Pop it</a>

Any help would be greatly appreciated
