When I start SQL Server Management Studio from my development PC and connect to a remote SQL-server, I do NOT see any Diagrams.
When I use Remote Desktop and connect to the server, and the open SQL, I see the diagrams.
Is there a way to get the diagrams to work on my local machine?
We have multiple development environments on one machine for our VisualStudio .net projects.These are web applications so we have organized them by IP Address andHost Headers.When I installed Reporting Services, it installed into my default website (localhost) and that is fine.However, we want to be able to create our reports in our different .netprojects. The only projects that will allow me to create reports arethe projects using the default website.When I right click to create a new project, the Business Intelligenceprojects (reports) type is not there.Can I do this? If so, how do I configure it?

I need help finding a good back up solution for SQL Server 2005. I am hosting several databases in a shared environment and do not have admin rights to detach & copy & reattach the database file. I can have the hoster back up the file, but that is a manual process and I have had other issues with it in the past (access rights, cost, etc.). I have also tried creating a new business intelligence project, but have found it difficult to do a complete exact copy (while maintaining primary key values) as I run into many concurrency violations. This is especially true in databases that use the standard asp.net membership services tables.
Is there a way to get an exact duplicate of the structure & data of a sql server 2005 database without having to create a new Business Intelligence Project? Or is there an easy way to do this within BI that doesn't require a table-by-table setup? The primary purpose of this backup for me is for use on my development machine. Backup for data security/recovery is handled by the ISP.

I changed the login password on my computer today, and now I cannot connect to the SQL Server instance I have on that same machine. I am using Windows Authentication. I would think that, if I can log on to my computer, I would be able to connect to the database, since I have been "authenticated" by windows but, that does not appear to be the case. Can anyone offer any advice? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Lets say I access the database with: SPIDERMANDB1 on SQL server, where the name of my laptop is SPIDERMAN, and the database is DB1. Now, I create an SQL script from sql server and make the necessary changes, like changing the computer name to say, SUPERMAN where my deployment server's name is SUPERMAN. But when I run the SQL script on the SUPERMAN server, it gives me an error like: "User or role SUPERMANDB1 does not exist in this database". I have deployed databases in this way on servers without Acive directory, so I'm sure its not a mistake on my side. So how am I supposed to go around this active directory thingi! Please help me out! I'm counting on u guys!

Hi all Pros I am transfering from windows2003 server and MS SQL 2000 to Windows Vista and SQL Express ...... Before I allways created a database manually and I could allways use as many databases I needed so in that way I could have several versions of a database for a certain software during development. Can you use separeted databasenames when developing in SQL Express? I have enterprise version software CD1 and CD2 of SQL server 2005
when i try to run setup.exe..the following error pops -up
The image file Setup.exe is valid, but is for a machine type other than the current machine
MY OS version is windows 2003 32bit Operating system...
I am suspecting the binarie may be of 64bit.. How do we check the binaries are 32 bit and 64 bit software

I'm facing a problem that drives me crazy. I've a web application that has the following problem. When I test the application on my developement machine all runs fine, but when I put into production server there is a problem in connection pooling. Look at the following image, the blue line is the number of connection in the pool and the violet line is the number of connection reclaimed. From the image it is clear that connection are returned on the pool only in block, maybe when the garbage collection pass and reclaim the object. The strange thing is that on my developement machine all is good, and also I'm using Enterprise Library and the connection are managed internally.- Thanks to everyone for any help.

running the procedure as a Domain user results in a failed job/stored proc.
also creating an sql login and attempting to run it as that user also fails. How can I solve this problem ?

Apparently the situation is like this
Currently installed MOSS 2007 in a testing pc as application server. This application server will refer another testing database server which running SQL Server 2005.
Now, wanted to move this 2 temporary server into another 2 new servers.
Correct me if I'm wrong, it cannot be done by using image like Norton Ghost due to difference hardware spec.
So, if I install another fresh copy of MOSS2007 & SQL server 2005 in that 2 new servers, how can I migrate the contents, documents, etc from the testing database server?

I am trying to create a new db diagram.
I selected my db -->right-click on Diagrams--> New database diagram -->Select some of the existing tables in the wizard-->finish and....
I don't see anything else but an empty screen
When I tried to edit an existing database diagram, by right-clicking on it -->Add existing table and selecting a new table from the list, I got an error message: "Co Initialize has not been called."
Could you help me on this one, please?

Subject says it all; how do I copy diagrams from one SQL2K database to another? (This is coming up because I'm converting collation sequences by DTSing data from DB1 to DB2, where DB1 was copied from SQL7 and DB2 was created with the collation I want. It gets tables and views, but not Diagrams and Stored Procedures. )

In our organization, we are using SQL Server 2005 Management studio as the client interface to access all our enterprise Databases.Most of the databases are built on SQL 2005 DB Server.
However, We have one of the Database built on SQL Server 2000, which also has Database diagrams in it. Though We are able to view all the DB objects through SQL 2005 managment studio interface, but unable to view the diagrams.
I understand that, the binary data of the diagrams are stored in "dtproperties" table on SQL 2000 but in SQL 2005, it is stored in "sysobjects"(not sure) table and both are entirely different.
Following are my questions.
1.Since the DB is still on SQL 2000,How can we view the diagram objects thru the SQL 2005 Enterprise manager.
2.For the migration process of SQL 2000 to SQL 2005, How can i migrate the database diagrams.
Appreciate the responses.

It only shows "Working with SQL Server 2000 diagrams" and "Refresh" with no "create new diagram" and in other servers it but its only in my desktop that doesn't and I have full access

I then tried to add my database file but SSMSE wont let me drill down into the required folderI weep!!!!Please can anyone help?
