Does anyone know where I can get a digram showing the database schemas for all of the system database. I need to know the realtionship between tables in the system databases. Would like to download something from the internet preferably, or if someone has something they can e-mail?

I am trying to do the above using the following...
ALTER SCHEMA [dbo] TRANSFER [schemaame].[tablename];
...but getting the following error...
Msg 15530, Level 16, State 1, Line 5
The object with name "tablename" already exists.
The tablename I see in SSMS is schemaame.Tablename
When I look at the properties of the table, it says the name is 'tablename'.
I cant work out how I can change the schema of the table. Also, surely having a in a schema name is not recommended, right?

I have a select statement running on the client machine linking to different tables in 1 database. All with the same schema. When I ran it, i had this error. I had trial and error, removing 1 table at a time until i hit the one which is causing it. when i removed it, everything's ok. i just wonder if all the tables were using dbo schema what is causing this particular table to throw this error?

When I first started on the program, I was able to create Table Adapters by dragging the tables or stored procedures onto the DataSet work surface and going through the configuration process. At one point, however, I stopped being able to see any of my stored procedures in the database view although they are there because when I go to create a new table adapter, I am able to right click and add the new adapter and find the stored procedure in the wizard.Is there any way I can reset this so that my stored procedures are visible again. I have tried refreshing to no avail - and I think this is creating problems in other parts of the application.Any help appreciate.Roger

I am currrently working on a ASP.Net 2.0 project using Sql Server 2000 with SP4. Whenever I run any query the connected database keeps showing as 'Suspect' and I can't access it from Enterprise Manager/ Query Analyzer. But my ASP.NET pages work fine. I can access my records as well as update them through my ASP pages.

I’ve got a situation where the columns in a table we’re grabbing from a source database keep changing as we need more information from that database. As new columns are added to the source table, I would like to dynamically look for those new columns and add them to our local database’s schema if new ones exist. We’re dropping and creating our target db table each time right now based on a pre-defined known schema, but what we really want is to drop and recreate it based on a dynamic schema, and then import all of the records from the source table to ours.It looks like a starting point might be EXEC sp_columns_rowset 'tablename' and then creating some kind of dynamic SQL statement based on that. However, I'm hoping someone might have a resource that already handles this that they might be able to steer me towards.Sincerely,

The below query should produce all those customers who are in 'orginalerrorfiles' but not in 'hopefullyworks2'. 3 fields will be used as the check to make sure that the rows, that r identical won't be displayed but those that r different will be displayed.
Instead of doing that it just display everything in the table called 'orginalerrorfiles'.
Note 'orginalerrorfiles' consist of 141455 rows
'hopefullyworks2' consist of 134784 rows

I have created a System DSN using the SQL Server ODBC driver and configured it to point to my server and database.
When I access the newly created DSN, it should show the tables listing. However, I get the following screen:

we have a table in our ERP database and we copy data from this table into another "stage"Â table on a nightly basis. is there a way to dynamically alter the schema of the stage table when the source table's structure is changed? in other words, if a new column is added to the source table, i would like to add the column to the stage table during the nightly refresh.

I'd like to create a temporary table with the same schema as an exiting table. How can I do this without hard coding the column definitions into the temporary table definition?
I'd like to do something like:
CREATE TABLE #tempTable LIKE anotherTable
..instead of...
CREATE TABLE #tempTable (id INT PRIMARY KEY, created DATETIME NULL etc...
I'm sure there must be a simple way to do this!

I attached my database to SQL 2005 but it's showing up as read-only for some reason. I've attached this before just fine in another instance of the Vista OS. Why would it attach differently this time compared to all other times and show read only?
The .mdb and .ldf files are not read only if you right-click and check out their properties.
I recently added a new user to my database. Now I want to delete that user, but I keep getting the error above. What do I need to do to delete my recently added user?

The only problem occurs when I use Enterprise Manager, I right click on a table in the Northwinds database to open table and return all rows. The form pops up and no rows appear. Nothing in the table form works. I can view the records from Query Analyzer, and can also view them through Enterprise Manager when using a workstation client. This problem only occurs at the server. Any thoughts.

General Users got an error message when trying to access any reports we have created.
All admin have no problems with the reports. Users (Domain Users) are given rights (Browser) to the reports and the Data Sources (Browser) and yet cannot view the reports.

my table does not have primary key so i created a seperate index on each of the table.
I used the recommended tablediff utility and it works successfully. But its only show the difference of records in each table and does not copy rows from source to destination and destination to source table. I was expecting database1.dbo.table1 contains same records as in database1.dbo.table2.

Trying to get my hands around all the new security features of SQL Server 2005. In Management Studio did something I don't know how to undo. I added a database role ReadOnlyRole and clicked the box next to db_datareader in the owned schemas box. Then I tried to remove the ReadOnlyRole and could not. How do I undo what I did? Is it possible?
