Display Flag For OrderType Cycle Values

I have a table with EquipmentNumber, OrderType, BreakdownIndicator and RowID columns and below are the values for one equipmentnumber,

I need to display the 'Flag' column in the result set as mentioned above to identify the cycle values without breakdown indicator values. Here is the logic for this,
1. Need to set the flag 'Yes' for the cycle values PM04 to PM04 in the OrderType and if there is any breakdownindicator value 'X' then we can not consider that cycle for Flag.

Hey all:
Right now I have a cursor that makes me want to puke. This is the last cursor in my current project and I want to replace it with a much faster set based operation.
Here is the problem. I have a table with say 1-3 million records. There are fields that get loaded in with date information. These fields are varchar because the date information could very well be mangled data that needs to be reviewed by a user. What I need is to go through these varchar fields and flag the values that cannot convert to smalldatetime.
I have another table that houses the primary key and the field of the record that cannot convert.
Essentially, I have a series of filters that run and flag using set based stored procedures. If there is a record that gets through that contains a value that cannot be converted, I have a cursor that steps through the data and attempts to convert the value. If it is able to be converted, then it continues on until it finds the value that is holding up the conversion.
I guess if I can run a query that will return all records that can convert for the field (or can't convert) I'd be all set. Any help here is appreciated.

Here's my predicament. I changed the filter on an article within a subscription, but not in a meaningful way. I just added "database.dbo." before a column name, but now my subscription is flagged for reinitialization, and won't replicate any transactions unless I start over with a new snapshot. I don't want that to happen. How can I reset the article properties somewhere to get it back the way it was and continue replicating transactions.
(I needed to add "database.dbo" so that another job that looks at the filter info would point to the correct database. Next time maybe I'll just modify the table that stores the filter info)
The reason I don't want to snapshot from the beginning is that I have procedures on the subscribing server that fire triggers from the transactions, so all the jobs "downstream" would get all out of sync.
HELP !

I have 2 identical tables one contains current settings, the other contains all historical settings.I could create a union view to display the current values from table A and all historical values from table B, butthat would also require a Variable to hold the tblid for both select statements.
Q. Can this be done with one joined or conditional select statement?

I'm facing a problem in my reporting.
I have a Customer table where is record various events like CustomerEventId, DateTime, StatusId, StatusTime, GroupId, ...
I also have a status table (Id, Description) and a group table (Id, Description).
I want to create a report where for a selected date range (From ... To ...) i can see (grouped by date) all status's the customer
went in. The possible status are :

My query looks something like this :

Hi,
I have the following problem.
I have created different tables in my database with descriptions in from other tables (example : a table named errors with errorid and errordescription as fields in it)
In a report i want to display the total nr of errors during a certain period for a certain department.
i have created that report with a list (by department). in this list i have a table where i group my errors.
until here all ok. when i display my report it shows all the errors.
but what it doesn't show is all the errors who have value 0 (or errors that didn't occur during that period i defined)
how can i display all my errors, even if they did not occur (0 times)

-For ID LaOze, in message "start" is logged at 7:30 and stop and 7:45, so interval is 15 mins
I am looking for a sql query that will return in below format

Quick question (I hope) regarding the cycling of the sql server error logs.
I am looking at implementing a daily / weekly job to run the stored procedure "sp_cycle_errorlog", but was wondering if there was any way of stopping the sql server process cycling the logs automatically when it is started? Therefore the logs will only be cycled when the job runs.

I have a report I'm writing and have got a problem that has stumped me.
The data the report is based in is in this format:

1/1/08 A
1/3/08 B
3/1/08 C

Management wants a report showing a line chart that summarizes the data by Month and by Type. So, there are 2 series depending on the Type and data values are based on the count of each Type. So, in the example above the x-axis group would be month, the values would be count(Type) and there would be 2 series €“ Series 1. A, B and Series 2. C
I€™ve defined the x-axis to be Month(Fields!DateOccured.Value). However, they want the x-axis to show every month for the entire year not just what is in the database. So, I defined the x-axis to have a scale of 1 to 12 and the major interval is set to 1. This displays 1 through 12 on the x-axis.
The problem is when there is no data (null) for a particular month. Instead of showing 0, the line chart does not plot anything and the line is drawn to the next displayed point. So, for example on the data above the line chart would plot:
January
Series 1 €“ Qty. 2 Series 2 €“ Qty. 0
February
Null
March
Series 1 €“ Qty. 3 Series 2 €“ Qty. 2
The line chart would draw a line from January to March skipping February. I need to display the null values as 0 and not null indicating no occurrences for the month rather than no data present.

I have a table that contains a list of departments (about 50) and another table that contains helpdesk tickets, each record storing the ID of the department sending the ticket. So I'm trying to count how manay tickets per department, I tought of using a subquery and a WHILE cycle but Its just not happening..I sketch up this query:

Ok, at this point I have the reader reading the tables data in a loop while it's not empty. During the gathering of each row of data, I was wondering if it was possible to do a next row once I've reached a certain column. The main users table has just the one user, but it's relationship table has a couple family members. I was hoping someone could show me how to make it so that the one user and all his related family members will print out to a label.

Can someone help me with a script for the following?
7am tuesday, week 1 of the year:
full backup, Trans log backups from between 8am and 10pm and nightly diff @ 10.15pm. both TL backups and Diff backups append to the full file. the next day - weds - exactly the same only without the initialising full backup @ 7am. each day appends to the same weeks backup. this goes all the way through to 10.15pm Monday night which is the last activity on the particular backup file.
7am Tuesday, week 2 of the year:
exactly the same process but writing to a new backup file. backup file is named something useful, like with the date of the Tuesday for example..
ill manually delete things as I need to (once that months data has been written to End-Of-Month tape), but otherwise i'd ideally end up with 52 backup files, each containing a weeks worth of data.
help me obi-wan SQLee. cos I cant bloody do it....

I am stuck on a query where I need to display all the month year values even if the corresponding count_booking values are NULL. The requirement is to display the 13 month year period from current date.
For e.g. if the date exists in the current month then starting from May 15 go all the way back to Apr 14.
My current query works in terms of displaying all the 13 months if the count_booking values exist for all the months. However, if some months are missing the values then those months don't show up.how to display all the months even if the values are NULL ? Query below:

Hi.
In my report, I need to display column names (and its values) from my dataset, which uses the stored procedure and within it use the PIVOT statement. I cannot use the matrix control in report since I need to add another static column to the right of the matrix, but since that cannot be done ni SQL SSRS 2005, I need to PIVOT it through stored procedure. The parameter passed to stored procedure is the year and it is used for pivot. The statement looks like this:

So, since the years passed as parameters can change, I cannot hard-code it as column in my report, so I need to programatically display column names and values from my dataset, something like dataSet.Tables[0].Columns[].ColumnName; I have tried with writing the code, but I do not have much experience with it and I have not been very successful. Can someone help me with the code?

Scenario: SQL Agent job calls "EXEC msdb.dbo.sp_cycle_agent_errorlog" once a week to cycle the SQL Server Agent log. Job is owned by "sa".
Most servers run this with no problem, but one active node of an active/active SQL Servers cluster fails with the message:
Executed as user: DOMAINSQL_Service. SQLServerAgent Error: The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process. [SQLSTATE 42000] (Error 22022). The step failed.
The SQLAgent job actually appears to be doing its job... a new SQLAgent.OUT is generated with the event:
(Date/Time)+ [412] Errorlog has been reinitialized. See previous log for older entries.
If I try renaming the file SQLAGENT.OUT, I get the message "It is being used by another person or program," which I expect. If I stop the SQLAgent service, I can rename the file with no problem. Failing over has no effect.
I just don't understand why this job fails for this server. (It should be mentioned the job could be fixed to "Succeed on Failure," but I'd rather not.)

i have this code
this code change the value field "new_unit" evry month from 1 > 2 > 3 > 4
like this evry 4 month it return to 1 >2..........

if i put
unit_date = 01/05/2008
and unit=1
than new_unit=1
IT OK
but
if i put
unit_date = 01/04/2008
and unit=1
than i get new_unit=2
but it should be 3
it dont go backward ok
if i put
unit_date = 01/06/2008
and unit=1
than i get new_unit=4
but it should be 2
it dont go forward ok !

Hi all sql gurus,
I have a table that has product name and submissionID and some other columns. I am really concerned about these two columns. My task is to get all the submissionIDs for a particular product name and display SubmissionIDs seperated by commas against each product name .
The tables below might give a better idea
current scenario:
Product Name SubmissionID columnC Column D
AAA 123
AAA 456
BBB 111
ccc 121
AAA 789
Expected result:
Product Name SubmissionID columnC Column D
AAA 123,456,789
BBB 111
CCC 121
Any suggestions/pointers would be highly appreciated.

I am trying to create a query that will show how much revenue that we have recieved from a customer After the first invoice and I'm having a difficult time creating a query to do it.. I have a customer table and a sales table joined by custno.
SELECT Customer.LastName, Sales.InvDate, Sales.AmtChargeFROM Customer INNER JOIN Sales ON Customer.CustNo = Sales.CustNo
The output I'd like is
CustNo, LastName, FirstInvoiceAmount, LifeCycleAmount
Getting the first inv date seems straight forward
SELECT Customer.CustNo, MIN(Sales.InvDate) AS FirstInv FROM Customer INNER JOIN Sales ON Customer.CustNo = Sales.CustNo GROUP BY Customer.CustNo
However getting the amount of that first inv and then getting the sum of all invoices not including the first invoice has me scratching my head.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I have weekly billing cycle. And the billing cycle can start on any day of the week.
Assumption: Start day of week is MONDAY
Hence, the following
DayNumber Day
1 Monday
if start day is 1, then billing cycle is Monday - Sunday
2 Tuesday
if start day is 2, then billing cycle is Tuesday - Monday
3 Wednesday
if start day is 3, then billing cycle is Wednesday - Tuesday
4 Thursday
if start day is 4, then billing cycle is Thursday - Wednesday
5 Friday
if start day is 5, then billing cycle is Friday - Thursday
6 Saturday
if start day is 6, then billing cycle is Saturday - Friday
7 Sunday
if start day is 7, then billing cycle is Sunday - Saturday
For a given date, i need find start date and end date of current billing cycle.
For example, if my billing cycle starts on 3rd day of week (wednesday), then for the input 09-Oct-2015, i need to get two output 07-Oct-2015 and 13-Oct-2015
