SSRS 2005: Report Header Does Not Export To Excel As Page Header
Mar 13, 2008I need some help. I am writing a report in SSRS 2005 that I then need to export to Excel. When I put a report header I would expect the header to not display in the Excel spreadsheet until the Print Preview or the Print. The report footer works just fine I put some text in the footer, and it shows up in the footer. The header though, shows up as a row in the Excel spreadsheet that then causes columns to merge. How do I get the report header to act like a page header?

I am having a main report having two subreports, say M1,S1 and S2 respectively.
The issue is S2 normally tend to go beyond one page, for all pages except first page of the of the subreport I am getting the page header and footer blank,
Actually this is not loading the ReportItems that are used in main report but it shows text boxes containing strings for eg . "My Name" and date functions eg Today()
Any Solution?

There is a one header in the report, when I publish and hit the report in IE(internet explor) the header appears fine on first page when I go to next page this header does not appear.
But in mozilla the header is visible on every page of the report. so it is working fine in mozilla.
I donot why it is happening?

Displaying Image In Report
Feb 18, 2008Hello Guys, I am trying to display image on a report. The image field is stored as a binary data in the database. I am using webservice to access the database and return datasets through which data on the report can be accessed. I saw that the xml returns binarystring value from the database. but when i try to display the image it does not show me anything except blank page. I checked the value of the binary data and it does not proceed with ox and tried appending 0x value but no luck. Guys please help me.

Weird Problem In SSRS Page Header

I have created a report. In page header of this report, I have added Ver#, ID# and Page number on the top right corner. But when I view the report, it comes correctly in the first page and in all remaining pages, it is shifted towards left. I can€™t figure out why it is coming so. It looks very weird for me.

Databound Image In Report Header
Jun 14, 2006After finding out that SSRS doesn't directly support databound items in the header or footer, I found the workaround from Microsoft yesterday at http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms159677.aspx. The problem is that their solution only works for the first page of the report, so it's basically useless! Because this is an image, it also means the workaround of using a parameter doesn't work, either.
Does anybody have any advice? Is there a solution to this problem?

Report Links In Page Header
Oct 4, 2006I have a report that I put links to other reports in the page header.
When I click on those links, I get the error:
"source of the report definition has not been specified"
If I move the links to the body of the report, they work fine.
Is this a bug or a limitation, and will we eventually be able to put links in the header?

Datename In Report Page Header
Nov 9, 2007I'm trying to get the following sql to work in a textbox. I have select the textbox properties and it's value is
=datename(m,dateadd(m,-1,current_timestamp))
I would like the results of "October"
however I get the following error
The value expression for the textbox €˜textbox1€™ contains an error: [BC30451] Name 'datename' is not declared.
I'm pretty new to this so I do not know excatly what that error means.
Any help for me out there?

In my SSRS report. I have a report which has only one page. In preview it is showing as only 1 page but when I am printing the report. I am getting two printouts with the second page as a blank.. Please help me in printing the page that contains report. Intially I used a Page header, at that it used to print the blank page with a header only. Now as I removed the header it is printing the page without header i.e Blank Page.. So please help me in prinitng a single page that has the report. It is urgent,..

Displaying A Report In A IE Window Before Changing To An ASP.NET Page

I have a strange problem that basically consists of showing a report in Internet Explorer and then using the same Internet Explorer window to show an asp.net page that contains some form where the user can enter some data. In this scenario, the form won't be processed on the server. I really need to know why and how I can work around this problem.
Precisely the problem can be reproduced like this:
Environment: Server: Windows 2003 Standard Server SP1 (German), IIS 6, Client: Windows XP SP2, Internet Explorer 6
First I open a new Internet Explorer Window and let it show me a Reporting Services Report (by entering its url into the address bar). Everything works. Then I change the address to a simple web application's address that is built with asp.net (.net 1.1). The application contains only a form with a submit-button, a text box and a label, that shows the textbox' text after submit was clicked. But when I click the submit button, although the form seems to have been sent to the server (the green progress bar in the status bar is flickering), it's reset. So the label does not show the value I have entered into the the textbox and the textbox itself is cleared. This only happens when the browser was first showing a Report from Reporting Services, so when I open a new Browser Window and go directly to the web app, everything works fine.
It does not happen when I open the Browser directly on the server.

Multi-column Report Page Header
Aug 2, 2007I have a multi-column report with a page header that spans the width of the report. Whenever I close the report and reopen it, the header is changed to the width of the column. This isn't a real big deal because I deploy it with the header across the whole page; but once in a blue moon I accidentally hit the F5 key (which I am used to using for refresh in other environments I work in) and the report gets redeployed with the messed up header. Is there anyway to stop RS from automatically adjusting the page header?
And is there anyway to disable the F5 key from deploying the reports. I do use it to build and run windows apps, and don't want to change that, but I don't want to deploy 80+ reports when I accidentially hit it.

Printing Table Header On Every Page Of Report

Presently or by default , the table header is shown(printed) only on the first page.

Reporting Services ReportViewer Page Is Not Displaying The Report

I had a problem accessing our report manager via the web front...
We deleted the virtual directories in IIS and then recreated them... this required us to make a change in the rsWebApplication.config file to include the URL in the ReportServerUrl tag before we could access the site again.
Now we have access to the site but when we attempt to view a report that we deployed to it - the report fails to render and returns a rsReportNotReady error, even though the report doesnt use a snapshot.
Furthermore, the strange thing is that the filters for the report don't display in their own collapsable bar as they used to before... they just display on the white part of the page. Neither does the reportviewer toolbar display properly. It appears as labels and textboxes going down the page and not in a toolbar as you might expect...
any help is appreciated... we suspect that it is some kind of configuration issue, but we have no clue where to begin...

i have designed a Report and deployed that report on Report Server, on this report i need to show the user selected values
in page header by using Parameters which i have already created in the Report.
There are 35 to 40 fields in the Front End(Asp.net2.0)
on passing all these values from front end Report is prompting for parameters which is not desired for my case even though i have made ShowParameterPrompts to false.

If I use the default Textbox in SSRS 2008 Report Designer, I get all the RTF formating characters, which makes for a VERY ugly report.Is there another control I can place on my report that will take the RTF formated text and display it properly? I can do this in Crystal Reports, but I'm converting to SSRS 2008 so I need to be able to handle RTF formated text.

I have developed a report in ssrs 2005. While exporting the report to excel 2007, i have a problem in displaying the footer values in spreadsheet. Moreover, in the page footer of the report, i have added a few condtions so as to display one of the textbox's values in the last page alone and the rest in all of the pages! But when i look in to the page layout in excel, i get in all of the pages rather than having it in the last page.
Added to that a cell doesnt hold more than 255 characters in excel.
can anyone help me out with this??

After this calculation if the column B is 0(zero) corresponding C column get display as "#Error", Â if B is not having 0 every thing is working fine.
In the calculation if I remove the " /B" it is working fine. So, how to display the value 100 in C if B=0.
