Hi,

Im trying to create a calulated value in my matrix table

I have the following matrix

ADSL CABLE BROADBAND %of adsl %ofcable %ofbroadband
AWAITING 5 9 11 0.2 0.36 etc

IN PROGRESS 67 10 5 0.8 0.1 etc
CHURNED 8 1 15 0.3 etc etc



I would like to create columns called
% of ADSL

% of cable
% of broadband
which is the count for that product divided by the total off adsl+cable+broadband for that particular status

I have the following problems
1. How do I add columns to a matrix which would allow these calculated columns to display?

Displaying Only A Fixed Number Of Columns In Matrix

Is it possible to display only a certain number of columns in a matrix, say the first 6 and then hide the rest? That is, does the matrix allow to somehow control how many columns can be displayed from a column group and hide the remaining columns (I need this to limit the number of columns a user is able to see so that the matrix width does not get infinitely long).



In other words.....



I need to display the subtotals for all dynamically generated columns but display only first 6 columns. This way I can avoid having to display 50 columns and not have user scroll to so far right and keep the page width within reasonable limits. Hope I have made it clear.

I have 4 tables involved here. The priority table is TABLE1:

TRANAMT being the amount paid & TOTBAL being the balance due per the NAMEID & RMPROPID specified.The other table includes a breakdown of the total balance, in a manner of speaking, by charge code (thru a SUM(OPENAMT) query of DISTINCT CHGCODE

Also with a remaining balance (per CHGCODE) column. Any alternative solution that would effectively split the TABLE1.TRANAMT up into the respective TABLE2.CHGCODE balances? Either way, I can't figure out how to word the queries.

Adding more columns in a matrix report that don€™t
belong to the columns drilldown dimensions€¦



That is, for example, having the following report:

Product Family


Product

Country City Number of units sold





Then I
would add some ratios, that is, Units Sold/Months (sold per month) and other that
is the average for Product Family (Units Sold/Number of Product Family), for putting an example€¦ some
columns should be precalculated prior to the report so do not get into it, the
real problem I don€™t see how to solve is adding one or two columns for showing
these calculated column that doesn€™t depend on the column groups but they do
for the rows groups€¦




Any guidance
on that?


The only
way I am seeing by now is to set it as two different reports, and that is not
what my client wants€¦

Matrix Displaying Data

I'm sorry if this is a stupid question, but this is my first matrix report.

I am using a stored procedure that generates the following data:

Item Color Size Qty
Shorts Tan 32 0
Shorts Tan 34 2
Shorts Tan 36 2
Shorts Tan 38 0

The matrix displays as follows:
34 36
Shorts Tan 2 2


I would like it to display as follows:

32 34 36 38
Shorts Tan 0 2 2 0

It seems that by default (I used the wizzard to create the report) that the zeros are being suppressed. How can I get them to display?

Reporting Services :: Add Two Different Custom Calculated Fields From Two Different Datasets In Matrix

I am not sure if this is possible or not, we have two datasets and each one has an additional calculated field which breaks the value JobBilledExVAT into three years.

So it reports for example how much we billed in May 2015, 2014 and 2013.

I have got the table to display this when reporting on one dataset by grouping by year

The datasets both look similar to this 

SELECT
  Practice.ibvSalesByJob.JobBilledExVAT
  ,Practice.ibvSalesByJob.[Year]
FROM
  Practice.ibvSalesByJob
  INNER JOIN Practice.idvJobType

[Code] ...

The calculated field is 

=Switch(Fields!Year.Value = Parameters!Year.Value ,"15", Fields!Year.Value = Parameters!Pre1Year.Value ,"14", Fields!Year.Value = Parameters!Pre2Year.Value ,"13")
The field I am looking to add together is below
=Sum(Fields!JobBilledExVAT.Value)

If I do the below on the dataset associated with the matrix it displays the sum for each year correctly, I would however like to add the Sum(Fields!JobBilledExVAT.Value) from a different dataset (ABS1M) for the relevant year.

I tried this

=Sum(Fields!JobBilledExVAT.Value) + Sum(Fields!JobBilledExVAT.Value, "ABS1M")

However this adds 2015, 14 and 13 from ABS1M and doesn't add them individually if that makes sense? With the calculated field it only shows Year under the main dataset heading not 15, 14 and 13 separately.

I was think of using LOOKUP however I don't know how this would work as 15, 14 and 13 are not displayed under the dataset.

MS SQL 2008 R2

I have the following effectively random numbers in a table:

n1,n2,n3,n4,SCORE
1,2,5,9,i
5,20,22,25,i
6,10,12,20,i

I'd like to generate the calculated column SCORE based on various scenarios in the other columns. eg.

if n1<10 and n2<10 then i=i + 1
if n4-n3=1 then i=i + 1
if more than 2 consecutive numbers then i=i + 1

So, I need to build the score. I've tried the procedure below and it works as a pass or fail but is too limiting. I'd like something that increments the variable @test1.

All is ok when viewing the pdf, or when viewing using the preview tab.

I'm trying to create calculated columns in a SELECT query (inside a sp) that are based on other calculated columns in the same SELECT list. But since I'm not allowed to refer to each calculated column by name, I'm forced to repeat long calculations every time I build one calculation based on another.

I'd like to do something on the order of:
SELECT Price*Quantity AS SalePrice, SalePrice*1.08 AS SalesPriceWithTax
FROM Orders

Access used to let me do that, but not SQL. Any suggestions? Can I use variables declared and assigned before I start my SELECT, and then put those variables in my SELECT list? Anyone have a useful shortcut?

I have this SP below, and I am trying to reuse the value returned by the Dateofplanningdate column so that I don't have to enter the code for each additional column I create. I have tried temp tables and derived tables with no luck.

Trouble With Calculated Columns

I have an OrderDetails table, ShipHeader table and a ShipDetails table in my database. I am trying to add a couple of columns to my OrderDetails table. I need two additional columns in my OrderDetails that are calculated. One should be called "Shipped" and give me the sum of all the ship Qty records for theat line item. The other should be called "Returned" and do the same for the return records. I was able to create this in a View without a problem. However, I need a method of creating this table that will still allow me to edit the information in the other columns in the OrderDetail table while viewing the shipped and returned information for each line item. With a View, I cannot edit any of the information while viewing it. Should I use a function? A stored procedure? If so, how do I code this? The tables are listed below.

Displaying Columns Twice

Hello All,

I have a little problem. Here is the scenario:

I got two tables Asset and Personnel

Personnel has FirstName, LastName,and username which is unique.

Asset table stores all information related to an asset and the username to whom the asset is assigned and the POC username.

The tables look like this:

Personnel Table
FirstName, Last Name, UserName
John, Doe, jdoe
Bill, Smith, bsmith

Asset Table
POCUserName, AssigneeUserName
jdoe,bsmith

My problem arises when I want to display First Name and Last Name for both the POCusername and the AssigneeUserName since FirstName and LastName columns exists once in the Personnel table. How can I display the columns twice. Lets say POCFirstName, POCLastName, AssigneeFirstName, and AssigneeLastName. Or this is something that can't be done.

The query below only display the Assignee info. Of course, I need to something else to display the POC info as well...don't where to go from here...

select tblPersonnel.FirstName, tblPersonnel.LastName, tblAsset.AssigneeUserName, tblAsset.POCUserName
from tblVendor, tblAsset, tblPersonnel

Data Source Views - Calculated Columns

Q: How do I use Calculated Columns from a Data Source View in an OLEDB Data Source Adapter.

I took the following steps:

- Created new SSIS project
- Added a Data Source connecting to a SQLServer2005 DB (MyDataSource)
- Added a Data Source View based on MyDataSource (MyDSV)
- Created a Calcualted field to Table Object MyTable (MyCalcField)
- Added a Connection Manager based on MyDSV
- Added Data Flow to Project
- Added OLEDB Source Adapter to Data Flow
- Attempting to Access Calculated Field MyCalcField to be used in Data Flow.

ISSUE: I can't seem to find a way to get the Calculated field to pass through. It's as though this metadata is not available to the Flow.

Anyone have any ideas?

I don't know how to properly insert a pic, but basically I get output, except the last 3 columns. I've tried every variation of JOIN and I cannot seem to solve this issue.

Checking 2 Columns And Displaying Result In 1 Column

Ihave 2 tables...they are basically the same except for the column name in one of them because they deal with 2 different names, though..the data i want is in columns that have the same name.pretty much what i want to do...is .they also need to be distinct so i dont count duplicates...i can get them as separate tables...but i cant get them together..I need them in 1 column because of how it is sent to the C3 code page and how it reads it...the structure has already been previously set..and there are about 5 other statments that are being executed in this one stored procedure like this (also i wasnt the one who set this up).

if an order has a finding or agency or both in it..then it gets marked as a 1 for that risk rating...if it doesnt..then 0 for that risk rating..and then sum them all up to see what i got..

I've been working with it...did this [SQL] compare2 - Pastebin.com ..got it to display 2 columns..but still not the right result...i'm getting a1 = 1...a2 = 1...so its not running through all the orders...or it needs a way to count it...i put a sum at beginning of case statement..erro because of counts...so i took counts out...

SQL Server 2012 :: View Results Not Displaying Nil Columns

I have a view I've created which displays client sortname, partner and date added which displays 7 results.

When I add another table to this view to display the Industry it then only gives me 4 results as the other 3 results have no Industry instead of giving me the 7 results and showing the Industry column as empty for the other 3.

Is there a way I can make it show all 7 results and havethe column where the industry is empty display the other results instead of not displaying any results at all for them?

Only 5 Columns Being Displayed In Matrix

Hi Guys,

I am creating a report in Reporting Services 2000. I have a stored procedure that returns 4 columns with one column having 21 weeks of entries in it. I am using matrix to group these 21 weeks as 21 week columns created dynamically but when I preview the report it is only displaying columns for first 5 weeks.

Any idea why Reporting services is not displaying the rest of the columns? Any limitation on maxiumum number of columns that can be generated dynamically in SSRS 2000?

Any help will be highly appreciated.

Matrix: 2 Columns In The Row Header

I have the following matrix working:


Measurement M1 Measurement M2 etc....
Unit U1 Unit U2 Unit U1 Unit U2 etc...

I'd need to add the manufacturing date of the item to the report. For this I need an extra column next to the row header column (in red) and also a field header (in purple).


Measurement M1 Measurement M2 etc....
Art. Date Unit U1 Unit U2 Unit U1 Unit U2 etc...

Item I1 18Nov2007 123 456 120 450
Item I2 19Nov2007 111 444 110 440


I've tried copying and pasting the first column of the matrix, inserting columns or rows, but I allways end up with an extra grouping level, which I don't want.
The date is the manufacturing date of the item, so it is an attribute of the item, not a separate level of detail.

Anyone knows how to add this extra column to the row header ?

Also, how do I add a column header like "Art." or "Date" in the example above ? I was thinking of placing a text box above the first cell of the matrix, as a kludge.

0's Om Subtotals But Not In Matrix Columns, How?

Hi
I have a matrix report. It expands to the right when the user chooses the amounts of months he/she wishes to see. Then it is populated with revenues for each month and deportment. On the matrix report I have put in a couple of Subtotals. Some of the totals are empty due to a month in a department with no revenue.

I wish to see a 0 on the subtotal column but I don€™t want to see a 0 on the month column. If I use
=IIF( Fields!Revenue.Value is Nothing, "0", Fields!Revenue.Value)
on the month columns I will see 0 all over the place. But I only want a 0 on the subtotal column. Can I do this?

Hi everybody, I've a big Matrix with 50 columns and 20 rows, I would like to hide the columns in 'real time' is it possible? for example:

If we don't want to see the col_1 and col_3 , we can give a click and hiding, is it possible? maybe with the option 'visibility can be toggled by another report item' or expanded and collapsed option, some idea?

Force Columns To Appear In Matrix.

As of my January running it runs great as there is data for all 12 months of the year and the matrix is created with the required 12 columns.

HELP - I NEED EXTRA MATRIX COLUMNS

I need to be able to add an extra column to my matrix - I've searched high and low on the net and I cant seem to find the answer anywhere.



I have grouped data which displays as it should and I can get the SubTotal part for my Dailys to run - I need to add a total for MTD and YTD (which is a part of the SQL Data) after the subtotal - is there a straight forward way of doing this?



This is an example of how I want my report to look (I can already achieve the bits highlighted bold)

When I use the "Add Column" functionality - I get a repeat of the MTD and YTD under each of the groupData cells - where as i only need it as a summary after the subtotal.

Add Titles To Columns In A Matrix Report

I have a matrix report and it doesn't add titles to the different groupings. And when you try and add a text box it spans across all grouping columns. How do you add titles to these columns?
