Cannot Run Datamining Query Task In Standard Edition Of Integration Services

Nov 13, 2006

Hi

We are using SQL Server 2005 Standard Edition. I have SSIS package which uses 'Data Mining Query Task'. I am using this task to run the predictions using the mining model I have deployed. When I run this SSIS package from IDE , everything is fine. But I deployed this SSIS to msdb, and when I right click on the package and run it from MSDB I get error message saying ,

'Cannot run this task in this edition of Integration Services. It requires higher level edition'.

Altimately we want to execute this SSIS from an API which is written in C#. Can you please suggest any workaround for doing so?

Thanks,

Vikas

Standard Edition's Support Of 4 Processors - Does This Exclude Mulit-core Procs?

Feb 13, 2008

When Standard Edition says it supports 4 processors, is this just the physical processor or do we have to factor in multiple cores?

If SE supports 4 physical quad-core processors, is it written to optimally utilize the quad-core technology or would I be better off using Enterprise Edition?

Unable To Connect To SSIS Or SSRS On SQL Server 2005 Standard Edition Server Via Desktop Connection

Mar 8, 2008

Hi,

I€™ve developed a BI system using the SQL Server 2005 Developer€™s Edition.

SSAS, SSIS and SSRS have been added to a SQL Server 2005 Standard Edition Server in preparation for delivering the developed database to this live environment.

So I am able to connect directly to the Database Engine, SSAS, SSIS and SSRS successfully from the actual SQL Server 2005 Standard Edition box which is sat on a Windows 2003 Server operating system.

However when I launch SQL Server Management Studio from a desk top PC which is connected to the SQL Server Standard Edition box I can€™t connect to either SSIS or SSRS, however I can connect to the Database Engine and it also seems that I can connect to SSAS OK.

I am using Windows Authentication where the I used a SQL Server account which exists with €œsysadmin€? permissions and this SQL Server account has the same login name as the Windows Server 2003 desktop login.

What do I do next please?

SQL Server Integration Services (Standard Vs Enterprise Editions)

Mar 9, 2006

The advanced transforms only available with Enterprise edition:

Data Mining Training Destination
Data Mining Query Component
Fuzzy Grouping
Fuzzy Lookup
Term Extraction
Term Lookup The advanced tasks only available with Enterprise edition:

Data Mining Query Task

Now what does all of those terminologies mean above? We are trying to determine if we need to really invest in the enterprise edition for the integration services. The information I got came from:

Reporting Services :: SSRS Print Layout Support RTL Rendering

Apr 28, 2015

Is there a support of printing report with matrix that is set to RTL (LayoutDirection) which displays in ReportViewr control with property RightToLeft set to RightToLeft.Yes in DisplayMode = PrintLayout.

The report looks fine in the report viewr in DisplayMode = Normal, but when goes to PrintLayout, it seems that the left data on page is rendered first.

Example: This is the display of the report viewer, I would like to print the columns by the same order it displays here:

And this is the result when clicking Print Preview: the first page displays the data of the last columns and if i go to the last page (page 9) i will see the data of the first column as displays in the previous gif, I don't have a clue why?

Is there a property that can be set to force the print layout to render RTL. Anyway, it seem to me as a bug since the Report Viewer displays the data correctly and renders the data RTL as expected.

When We attach the database with MS SQL Server 2005 StandardEdition Server and run some queries (having joins, filters etc.) thenthey take very long time to execute while when We execute same querieson Enterprise Edition then they run 10 times faster than on standardedition. Our database does not use any features which are present in EnterpriseEdition and not present in Standard Edition. We want to know what arethe differences between Standard Edition and Enterprise Edition forperformance. Why should we go for Enterprise Edition when StandardEdition has all the features required. We are presently using evaluation versions of SQL Server 2005 Standardand Enterprise Editions. Thanks and regards,Nishant Sainihttp://www.simplyjava.com

SQL Server 2005 Workgroup Edition Upgrade To Standard Edition

Feb 8, 2008

I'd like to upgrade from my current SQL Server version: 09.00.3042 (Workgroup edition that comes with SBS upgrade) to the standard edition that I've just purchased. I've attempted to run setup.exe SKUUPGRADE=1 from the command prompt and it just tells me that there's nothing new to install.

I don't really want to uninstall the current installation just to do something that shouldn't be complicated to do, upgrading software versions should not be a difficult process.

Does anybody have any experience with this?

How Can I Run SQL Server 2005 Developer Edition On Standard Edition

Mar 20, 2008

I tried to download PerformancePoint Server Trial Version to ther server today and I got to the configuration point of the Analysis Services Setting, and when I clicked next to proceed with the configuration I got a popup error message:
"Microsoft Analysis Server must be Evaluation, Developer or Enterprise Edition".

Now I have SQL Server 2005 Developer Edition Disc (Bought it with Visual Studio 2005) but on the server I have SQL Server 2005 Standard Edition, if I try to run the sql server developer Edition disc, I use the wizard download and it seems that the download is going through the SQL Server entire download, it's like I'm re-downloading SQL Server all over again.

Does that seem right?
what is the best approach to work around this probelm?

I appreciate any help

The Task Send Mail Task Cannot Run On This Edition Of Integration Services. It Requires A Higher Level Edition.

Integration Services :: Updating SSIS Task Standard Properties Window

May 25, 2015

If, in an SSIS package, you put an instance of an 'Execute SQL Task' task in the Control Flow, in the Properties window, you can see the properties of the task, for example CodePage.

If you double click on the task, the Execute SQL Task Editor appears, with several of the properties which are also in the Properties window, including CodePage.

If, in the Editor, you update the value of CodePage, then click OK, the value of CodePage in the Properties window is updated immediately.

I have written a custom SSIS task, which also has the same properties in the Properties window and in the Editor. The Editor also has an OK button. When OK is clicked, the values of the task properties are updated. An example property is FolderToArchive. If I open the Editor, change the value of FolderToArchive and click the OK button, the value of FolderToArchive in the Properties window is NOT immediately updated.

If, however, I select the FolderToArchive field in the Propertiesd window, it is then updated with the value I entered in the Editor.

How do I get my task to update the values in the Properties window, after changing a value in the Editor, when I click the OK button?

I would have thought I would need something like, in pseudo-code,

    Task.Parent.PropertiesWindow.Refresh
where task is of type Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Runtime.Task and Task.Parent is of type Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Runtime.Package.

X Cannot Run On This Edition Of Integration Services. Again!!

Oct 11, 2007

Hi,
I'm a little confused now on when I need to install SSIS services, according to the following

http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms345193.aspx

I don't need to have SSIS service installed on my sql server to run SSIS packages as jobs. So I've now deployed my packages to our live clustered SQL server, and I even have a package that runs to a point.
So basically the package imports some data then reprocesses a dimension on the cube, it imports the data ok, then fails to process the cube with the following message

Description: The task "Process Cube Dimension DimFiscalPeriod" cannot run on this edition of Integration Services. It requires a higher level edition.

Now the SQL server is enterprise edition, so do I really need to install SSIS on this server or not ?

Thanks for any help in advance

Cannot Run On This Edition Of Integration Services Error Message

Mar 21, 2006

Hi All,

I am little new to 2005 so this may be an easy one. I have a IS package that I created on my local 32 bit machine. I have copied this package to one of our servers running SQL 2005 EE x64. The package executes fine until it gets to a VB Task at which point it errors with the message of "The Task "DefalutValues" cannot run on this edition of Integration Services It requires a higer level edition"

Is this a known bug/error that you can not build on a 32bit machine for a 64bit machine. I have set the precompilescriptINtoBinaryCode value to true.

If anyone has any suggestions please let me know.

Thank you.

Reporting Services :: SSRS 2014 Report Manager - Customize Standard Title And Change Background Colors?

I prefer to implement both, a background color change and a title change.  The reason for this is to clarify to end users which environment they are working with.

Where can I make those minimal changes in SSRS 2014.

Continued DTS Support With What SQL Server Version/Edition

Jan 18, 2006

We currently have access to another department's SQL server.  However they are taking that server offline within a few months, and we will need to migrate our data and DTS packages to a new solution before then.  We have about 30 databases and 20 somewhat simple DTS packages, but only a few users need access.  Funding is very tight.

SQL 2005's support of DTS is somewhat of a mystery to me.  Docs state with 2000 Enterprise client tools installed + Express edition, that I can run DTS packages on Express edition.  But the docs do not state the procedure for doing so, and I cannot register the Express server in the Enterprise manager(states must be using 2005 version of Enterprise manager).  It seems I can Design a DTS package that resides on the 2000 server and specify a connection to the Express server, but the DTS package would not run, stating always that the table was in use, and I haven't explored it any further.  May have just been a quirk.

I'm trying to conquer this in two pieces:

Cheapest solution for graphical design of DTS packages, or some techniology similar(I think I understand that this is called SSIS in 2005?).  This would be needed by 1-4 users.

SQL 2005 Developer Edition for each user, only about $50 per user.
MSDE for each user, but can this house DTS packages and be connected to by enterprise manager?
Cheapest solution for data access and ability to run DTS packages by 2-10 users.

If SQL Express Edition is used to house data, can the DTS packages be distributed in some way that allows the users to run them?  I.E. exported as VB code or some sort of file that can be loaded by an Access 2002 or VB.NET frontend.
Can all users have Developer Edition or Desktop edition and run the DTS package from it, but have the DTS package connect to the Express Edition server where the data is housed?  Or would this be a violation of what the Developer Edition is intended to be used for?
Any other suggested scenarios are welcome.

Are we allowed to continue using the 2000 Enterprise manager after we no longer have access to a licensed SQL 2000 Enterprise server?

The feature comparison for the different 2005 editions doesn't mention DTS, but I know it works for some editions if the add on components are installed.  I'm just not sure which versions support this.

Deploying SSRS In SQL Express Edition With Advanced Services

Aug 4, 2007

Hello, I am having a difficult time with a complicated task. I have developed numerous SSRS reports for my application and want to deploy these reports with my application. The application uses SQL Express Edition with Advanced Services. I have written an installer to automate this process, but my problem is getting the SSRS reports that I developed on my server incorporated into the ReportServer database created during the install of SQL Express Edition with Advanced Services. I have read numerous good posts and articles regarding the rsconfig.exe and rskeymgmt.exe utilities, but I am having problems. The main problem seems to be dealing with the encryption key. I have done a restore of the ReportServer database using a backup of the ReportServer database I used to develop my SSRS reports. This worked well with the exception that I can't seem to get past an error message stating that reportiong services has not been initialized. Keep in mind, I need an automated way to do this. Anyway, I have tried using rskeymgmt to restore a backed up copy of the encryption file that I took from the server where I developed the reports. I get an error message that scale-out deployment is not supported in this version or something like that. I can't delete the encrypted data because then the connection information for my shared data source is deleted also. Again, please keep in mind I need all of this to occur behind the scenes during an install without end-user intervention.

Anyways, sorry for such a long post. I would appreciate any help anyone may be able to provide.

Tim

Replicating From SQL Server 2005 Standard Edition To Remote SQL Server 2005 Express Edition

Aug 13, 2007

Hello,

I have been unable to create a replication from an SQL Server 2005 standard edition database to remote SQL Server 2005 Express Edition. The remote express edition is on a Virtual Private Server we are leasing from a hosting company. The name of the remote DB is similar to vs572.si-vs572.com. I can connect to this with SQL server authentication through Management Studio and also with SSIS. But, I have been unable to create a push subscription (I have tried a test push subscription with the same publication to a local SQL Express server here in our office and this works fine).

Here is the error message: SQL Server Replication requires the actual server name to make a connection to the server. Connections through server alias, IP address, or any other alternate name are not supported. Specify the actual server name, 'VS572SQLEXPRESS'.

The hosting company had originally installed a shared SQL server which would not support replication. They then installed SQL Express edition and I was hoping this would allow us to run a replication.

I tried to connect to VS572SQLEXPRESS with out any luck. I check the remote connections, made sure replication was installed, etc., but no luck.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you,
Albert

Desktop Platform Support For SQL Server Compact Edition?

Sep 10, 2007

Hi-

I am doing some technology research for a new app and was wondering about the desktop operating system support for SQL Server compact edition. This app has a PC component and a mobile component, and both need to be data enabled, with syncronization between the PC and the mobile device.

So it seems like SSCE would be a good fit. Just run the SSCE client on both the PC and the device. But in the system requirements for SSCE it only gives XP as a valid desktop OS...

Is that correct? Obviously, desktop platform support for a production app will need to be broader than just XP.

Will SSCE desktop run on Win98,Win2000,XP Home, and Vista?
