View 1 RepliesI am using SQL 6.5 and I would like to know (using Isql/w)
the number of users connected to my server at any given time.
Thanks for your help in advance.
Hi,
Environment:
I have a Sqlserver 6.5 production server used for web based applications
Compaq 5500 4 GIG RAM, 4 processor
Sql Memory config on that server is 1048576 (which is 2048 MB)
and the run value is 640000 (which is 1250 MB).
runvalue for user connections was 500
We have only 90 user connections may increase upto 100 depends on the connections. We don't have any overload on that server.
Error: I was seeing
"unable to connect maximum no. of 500 configured user connections are already connected" in the error log.
Action Taken:
I increased the user connections to 600
and rebooted the server. Immediately the same error I can see in the error log. But we have only 20 user connections at that time. I can able to connect.
Please advise me to get rid of this error.
Thanks,
Anu.
Hi everyone!
Is it possible to control the number of simultaneous connections one login id can have?
I`d like to avoid my users to share their login ids and passwords to help them enter data into the system.

I have a database hosted by GoDaddy. Recently they made some changes to the interface and upgraded to SQL Server 2008. One or the other has made it impossible to access my data in one table.
The table is quite large in terms of the numbers of elements. Each row describes a dog and all the elements are components of the description. There are (I would guess) more than 50 elements all together.
When I try to search the database, the query form goes beyond the top and bottom of the page. I can scroll the database but the search tool (which lies atop the data) does not scroll. The result is that I can't activate the search.
I've tried about 10 machines. All with IE6 display this fault. Machines with IE7 do not. I've tried various screen resolutions on the machines with IE6. That doesn't help.
I've checked other tables in the database. No problem.
In short, there's nothing I can do. I can't edit my data and GoDaddy says, "Tough."
Is there a limit on the number of columns (elements) in a table in SQL Server 2008?

Dear All,
I have different application installed on a server all of them are interface to SQL Server databases.
I want to know if I have 5 user license to one application, 10 user license to other application, 3 user license to third application. So, I have as an example 18 application license.
My question is: What does affect the access of these application to their databases? - Number of application user license or something else.
Thanks n advance.
Hi, can someone explain which are the limits o maximum values that SQLServer Express permit?
I dont see anywhere a compare table in which it says, 10 concurrent connections, etc.
Thanks in advance.
I have installed Sql Server 2000 Personal Edition (Version: 8.00.2039 SP4 Personal Edition), it runs over Windows XP.
Has Sql Server 2000 Personal Edition any user limits?
Thanks for reply

I have a table that I'm loading as part of a control flow that in turn is copied to a target table by using a data flow task. I am doing this because a different set of fields may be used from the source entry to create the target entry based on a field in the source table. That same field may indicate that multiple entries need to be created in the target table from one source table entry for which I use a multi-cast transformation.
The problem I'm having is that no matter how many entries there are in the source table, the OLE DB Source during execution only shows 7,532 entries being taken from the source table. If there are less than 7,532 entries in the source table, everything processes fine. More than 7,532 and the data flow task only takes 7,532 and then seems to hang. It also seems as though only one path of the multi-cast transformation is taken when the conditional split directs a source entry down that path.
Seems like a strange problem I know, but any insight anyone could provide is appreciated. Thanks.
Hi everybody,
I know that SQL2005 Express has 1 GB memory limitation.
Well, if my server has 2 GB RAM and I have other applications (without memory constraints) how does this relate to the SQL constraints ?
Can I still run SQL2005 Express if other applications exaust only 1 GigaByte of memory ?
Thank you in advance.

I've been developing a vb app with sql server 2005 and had planned to use express as the client server so the db could be distributed with the app. After importing 21 csv text files, I realized that I have way too much data. My understanding is that sqlexpress can only work with max 4gb database.
The 21 csv files (total 925mb) brought the db size up to 1.5gb and I still have at least 250 more files to go. Obviously, I need a different approach. What are the size limitations of the non express version of sql server 2005? Any suggestions on the best approach for this type of situation?

Hello Everyone,I have been searching hard to get an answer on this question, I hope someone here can help me!Here is my situation:I am planning to build a website for them, that would be used for some event registration (by people outside my company). I also plan to use SQL Express Edition as the database backend for the site. Now this is where I have a question, can I use SQL Express and pay nothing? (It is free right?) There would be a maximum of 600 registrations over a period of 1 month. I don't expect more than 50 concurrent users. The administration side of the application would be used by internal employees (So, the application would be used by internal employees and external people). Where can I find more information about the license?I would be very thankful if someone can guide me on this.ASP_Newbie

I wonder is SQL express free to "hobby developer" or to "anyone".... I am thinking to install a SQL express edition on my client's computer, and install our software on my client's other computers, the software will remote connect to the SQL express server.
Is it *legal* to do so? if it is legal, then who would pay for a copy of SQL full-version 2005 ?
Many thanks

Currently, i am planning to develop a small system for my client by using SQL database. However, i am not sure is it legal to use SQL Express 2005 in this project? I mean setup the SQL Express 2005 in their server then my application will access this database. Is it legal? or Do i need to purchase any license in order to do that? or I need to purchase a SQL Server 2005 Standard or Enterprise version?
View 3 Replies View RelatedHi all,
In my office computer network system (LAN), my Windows XP Pro PC has SQL Server Express and VB 2005 Express installed and I was granted to have the Administrator priviledge to access SQL Server Express. I tried to create a SQLCLR project in my terminal PC.
1) I tried to set up a remote connection to SQL Server Express in the following way: SQL Server EXpress => SQL Server Surface Area Configuration. In the Surface Area Configuration for Service and Connection - local, I clicked on Remote Connection of Database Engine, SQLEXPRESS and I had a "dot" on "Local and remote connections" and "Using TCP/IP only". Then I clicked on "Apply" and "OK" buttons. Then I went to restart my database engine in SQL Server Management. When I went to check SQL Server 2005 Surface Area Configuration, I saw the arrow is pointing to "Service", not to "Remote Connections"!!!??? Is it right/normal? Please comment on this matter and tell me how I can have "Remote Connecton" on after I selected it.

Store application data in isolated storage.
When deploying an Office solution, check to make sure you have fulfilled all necessary requirments.
Use a certificate to obtain the required permission(s).

I have an Excel add-in that connects to a SQL Server Express 2005database. I've decided to create a configuration piece for this add-inin Visual Studio 2005 Express. I added a data connection using the dataconnection wizard and all appeared to go well. Anyways when I attemptto open SQL Server Express to administer the database, it was corruptedand I had to restore it.I eventually got it to work correctly (I'm pretty sure I followedpretty much the same steps as before), but I was just wondering ifanyone had experienced problems like this? I find it a bit scary thatit may be that easy to corrupt the database by just creating a dataconnection.
